Stunning location right at a beautiful long stretch of lonesome beach, surrounded by palm trees, visited by tropical birds and monkeys and equipped with everything you can wish for. A wonderful pool for everybody for whom the waves are too high to swim, very clean and tastefully decorated bungalows with comfy beds, great outdoor bathroom and private patio. The staff was incredible! Super friendly and helpful. We even got served dinner on the beach. The food, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. If you wanna stay at a paradise beach location away from all the hassle of the bigger south coast towns this is the place to stay! Highly recommended!

• Katharina (1/5): Wir sind wieder abgereist nachdem wir bezahlt hatten und leider erst danach das Zimmer gesehen haben. - Die Lage direkt am Meer ist sehr gut. Preis/Leistung ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Wir sind wieder abgereist. Leider kam man uns nicht wie versprochen mit dem Storno entgegen und auch das 50% Storno das laut booking gegolten hat wurde uns nicht möglich gemacht. Auf meine Nachricht dazu nicht mehr reagiert.Sehr schade. Zum Zimmer: Es gibt keine AC und der Ventilator bringt leider keine Leistung. Die Bauweise sorgt dafür, dass es stickig ist und keinerlei Luftzirkulation stattfindet. Zum ersten Mal auf unserer 6wöchigen Reise ein Problem mit meiner Milbenallergie was darauf schließen lässt, dass das Bettzeug alles andere als gut gereinigt war. So sah es leider auch aus, vergilbte Bettwäsche und keine sauberen Moskitonetze. Preis/Leistung ist in allen umliegenden Unterkünften nach unserer Recherche und Erfahrung mit einer nahe gelegenen Unterkunft nicht gerechtfertigt.
• ELOÏSE (10/5): Parfait! - Meilleur hôtel de tout notre séjour au Sri Lanka! Le gérant et son équipe sont adorables et vraiment très attentionnés. L’endroit est tout simplement paradisiaque: calme, grande piscine sous les cocotiers, accès direct à la plage… La chambre est spacieuse, le lit est très grand et la salle de bain extérieure avec vue sur les cocotiers nous fait immédiatement déconnecter! Le service de restauration est vraiment délicieux: poissons fraîchement pêchés, frites maison, petit déjeuner copieux avec notamment fruits frais et crêpes maison! Situé à 20 minutes du centre de Tangalle en tuk tuk (l’hôtel peut s’occuper d’organiser le trajet). Réservez sans hésiter!

However, when it comes to what co - The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet et naturally beautiful beach. The overall experience was disappointing. The swimming pool was dirty, with cloudy and stagnant water, making it unusable—especially for children. The hotel is not well suited for families, as when the pool is not an option, the beach can be quite dangerous due to strong waves and powerful currents. The restaurant is another weak point. The food quality is poor; although the staff seem to try their best, they clearly lack the necessary skills. The included breakfast is very basic and offers little to no variety. Finally, an important aspect to highlight: despite the intense heat, there is no air conditioning in the rooms. The ceiling fans are noisy and not very effective. There is also no mini fridge, which makes it impossible to keep water cool or store fruits.
• Jessica (7/5): Schöne Unterkunft mit kleinen Mängeln - Der Strand und Strandbereich war unfassbar schön, sehr netter Inhaber und Personal. Optisch sehr schön gestaltete Anlage. Leider war der Pool nicht sauber. Es schwimmen kleine Käferchen drin die pieksen. Koffer musste man immer verschließen, da die Türen im Zimmer keine Fliegengitter und einen seeehr großen Spalt hatten, waren viele Geckos und 2 größere Spinnen im Zimmer. Um das Bett herum gab es aber ein Moskitonetz. Die Nächte waren sehr warm, Ventilator gab es, aber keine Klimaanlage.

• Claire (9/5): Friendly Place on a Stunning Beach - Sanjis is located on a stunning beach - quiet and unspoilt but with plenty of restaurants tucked amongst the palm trees. The sea has big waves so swimming is only suitable for strong swimmers. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, with gorgeous outdoor bathrooms and the gardens surrounding the rooms were beautiful. The outdoor restaurant area with the balcony above is very stylish. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place. The rooms could be made a bit more stylish to bring them in line with the restaurant area, with an upgrade on the soft furnishings, such as towels and curtains and also could benefit from an improvement in the electrics - the plugs were old fashioned style and the lighting was limited. It didn't affect our stay but some small changes would elevate the place into a very stylish accommodation offering.

Odgłos dudniącego oceanu, który kołysze do snu, a rano wybudza. Idealny do ucieczki przed światem.

Beach towels provided, son lounges for guests on beach with shade from trees. Beautiful garden and pool area So me if the lights in the room didn't work. Not enough space to put suitcase etc. storage area behind bed impractical. Staff nice but dim with poor English. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Evening meal was on the beach but complete disappointment food wise compared with the seven turtles next door. No bar area. Limited drinks with meal. I would eat elsewhere. If you want to eat in the evening you had to order it before 4pm to eat later.

Uns wurde unser Zimmer sogar früher zur Verfügung gestellt und das alles Beste: wir haben sogar am anreisetag ein kostenloses Frühstück bekommen, das war wirklich sehr zuvorkommend und ist uns im Gedächtnis geblieben. Die Zimmer sind schön geräumige Bungalows, die schönsten, die wir auf unserer Reise hatten. Die Dusche ist außen, was super cool gemacht ist :-) der Pool angenehm und auch der Strand Bereich ist super schön. Es gibt eine kleine Hotel Katze die sehr nett vom Personal behandelt wird was uns auch sehr positiv aufgefallen ist. Wir können das Hotel sehr weiter empfehlen:-)

Ein besonderes Highlight war für uns das Außenbad! Der Strand direkt am Hotel war toll wobei sich das Meer aufgrund sehr hoher und gewaltiger Wellen nicht zum schwimmen eignete, dafür leistete der Pool aber gute Dienste!

• David (10/5): - We had a absolutely wonderful stay at Sanjis! The property itself is located on the beach with great views in every direction. The rooms were well sized with a awesome outdoor shower and a romantic canopied bed. The staff was exceptional, super friendly and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was exceptional. If you want a pleasant resort on a quiet beach meant for exploring youll love it here! Could use a hot water kettle, a small broom for sand and a mini-fridge.

• Jesper (9/5): Dejligt ophold lidt langt fra en god strand - Sanjis The seaside Cabanas havde en masse gode ting. Her var ro for det ligger et godt stykke udenfor Tangalle. Man skal med en tuk tuk i ca 15 min for at komme til byen. Morgenmaden var fantastisk og det bedste vi har fået på Sri Lanka. Kæmpe tak for det🙏 Udendørs badeværelse var dejligt da vi fandt ud af at tænde for det varmevand( vandvarmer) Man kan ikke bade fra stranden. Det er store bølger og meget strøm. Var ikke i havet her i 3 dage. Der er pool, men den fristede ikke rigtig.

The owner, Sanji, is a personable guy who would always go out of his way during the day to ensure each guest was having a great time and that everything was to our liking. We enjoyed the Sanjis so much that we cancelled our other stays and extended our reservation by two more nights. If you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation with excellent service, please do yourself a favor and book a stay at the Sanjis.

The staff were very attentive, helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious .. 4 courses served to the table. We enjoyed the pool area and the beach waves. Maybe a fridge would be a good touch.

• Janine (9/5): Schönes Strandhotel mit noch etwas Luft nach oben - Die Anlage liegt direkt an einem sehr sauberen Strand und ist schön gestaltet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber. In der Umgebung gibt es fussläufig einige gute familiengeführte Restaurants, aber man kann natürlich auch im Hotel essen. Das Essen ist durchaus gut. Es werden Massagen und ein Wäscheservice angeboten. Ein Anbieter von Lagunen-Bootstouren ist ebenfalls in der Nähe und per TukTuk ist man in einer halben Stunde in Tangalle. Es fehlte uns der unbedingte Wille, den Gästen einen perfekten Aufenthalt zu bescheren. Man musste z.B. sämtliche Informationen über Hotel und Umgebung selbst zusammentragen, weil es keine Infomappe gab. Auf den Wäscheservice sind wir nur zufällig aufmerksam geworden, weil ein anderer Gast danach fragte. Als wir fragten, wo man denn Fahrräder für eine kleine Radtour ausleihen könne, kam ein „ So etwas gibt es hier nicht“ zurück. Wir haben dann selbst recherchiert und einen Verleih in Tangalle gefunden. An unserem letzten Abend waren wir in einem Restaurant in der Nachbarschaft essen und auch dort stand ein kleines Schild mit „Fahrradverleih“. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Hotel dieser Kategorie im Land hat das Hotel auch keinen Adapter für Steckdosen bereitstellen können. Es fehlte uns an Möglichkeiten zum Aufhängen der nassen Badebekleidung und Strandtücher. Mit etwas mehr Liebe zu solch kleinen Details wäre der Aufenthalt noch etwas schöner gewesen.
• Miroslav (6/5): - beautiful location, beach with a minimum of people. It is an older hotel for undemanding tourists who do not expect normal standards. The hotel could use renovation. I appreciate the abundance of sun loungers on the beach. Good breakfast and compliments to the kitchen. The room lacks a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. They brought a small fridge on request. (they only have one for 8 bungalows). Personally, we consider this a mistake. We have comparisons from other hotels of the same category and here in Sri Lanka and in this area and I missed the care for the hotel's surroundings. It's a small thing, but the client will appreciate it when there is a groomed beach with sun loungers, for example. There is not enough storage space in the room. We didn't feel comfortable in the room, it was dark and deserved renovation.

• Sylvie (10/5): Séjour agréable, cadre relaxant et service de qualité - J’ai été très bien accueillie par le propriétaire et le personnel. Sanjis, le propriétaire, s’est montré particulièrement attentionné et soucieux du confort tout au long du séjour. Il a également pris soin d’organiser mes visites des plages en me trouvant un chauffeur de confiance, ce qui m’a permis de profiter pleinement de la journée. Un logement idéalement situé au premier plan, avec une vue dégagée sur la piscine et la mer, m’a été attribué, ce qui a été très appréciable. Le logement est spacieux et la douche extérieure, même si elle n’est pas toujours très pratique, reste très agréable. La terrasse située devant le logement, et en particulier le lit balançoire, est parfaite pour se détendre. Les petits déjeuners étaient très bons, délicatement préparés. L’hôtel est situé sur une très grande et belle plage, quasiment déserte, où l’on peut observer les pêcheurs le matin. La mer n’est pas réellement baignable en raison des vagues, mais après avoir visité plusieurs plages, ce lieu m’a semblé le plus adapté pour des moments paisibles. Je n’hésiterai pas à y retourner. Un merci tout particulier à Sanjis pour cette agréable expérience ! Prises électriques insuffisantes, parfois mal placée ou défectueuse. Par ailleurs, sans que cela ait été gênant pour moi, des équipements supplémentaires tels qu’un miroir dans la chambre ou un service à thé/café amélioreraient encore le confort, tout comme un contrôle plus régulier du bon fonctionnement des équipements.

Staff were friendly and helpful (especially Sanji, who made the effort to speak to everyone at dinner and breakfast) The property is small and cozy. Loved it!

Tutto lo staff é gentilissimo e il ragazzo che ci ha ricevuto é super preparato e disponibile. L’alloggio é bello pulito e la doccia all’aperto è una bellissima esperienza. Il cibo è ad poco sublime. • Svea (10/5): - We had a great time at Sanjis The Seaside Cabanas. The hotel feels like a little oasis with a lot of greenery and an amazing view of the ozean. The cabanas are spacious with a large terrace and a very comfortable bed. We also loved the outdoor bathroom where you could shower underneath the sky. The beach area is really quiet with just a few hotels along the coast. The ocean was quite rough, but we had a lot of fun in the waves. You have to be careful though. Overall, the hotel is quite far away from everything, so there are not a lot of activites around. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing time, the hotel is just for you. There are some nice restaurants in short walking distance, but you can also have a nice dinner at the hotel.
• Isabell (9/5): Ein wunderbar ruhiger Aufenthalt in toller Lage, perfekt zum Abschalten und Entspannen - Die Unterkunft hat uns wirklich gut gefallen: tolle Lage, sehr freundliches Personal und das Essen war super – insgesamt ein sehr entspannter Aufenthalt. Wichtig zu wissen: Direkt vor der Unterkunft kann man nicht ins Meer, da die Wellen dort zu stark sind, aber es gibt einen schönen Pool zum Abkühlen. In den Zimmern gibt es keine Klimaanlage, dadurch wird es recht warm – für zwei Nächte war das für uns aber völlig okay. Man sollte außerdem Mückenspray dabeihaben, da man hier relativ schnell gestochen wird. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb, Essen und Getränke bekommt man vor Ort, aber wenn man noch etwas anderes braucht, sollte man das vorher in der Stadt besorgen, da der Weg dorthin etwas weiter ist. Insgesamt aber eine richtig schöne Unterkunft – wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Man wohnt sehr privat in den Bungalows und hört nur das Wellenrauschen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet und die Außendusche ist toll. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Ik begrijp de enkele negatieve recensies niet waarin geschreven wordt over insecten in de kamer. Dat viel in de eerste plaats reuze mee en in de tweede plaats kan je dat ook enigszins verwachten met een bungalow waar binnen en buiten in elkaar overgaan. Maar er is een prima klamboe, dus die enkele insect overleef je wel. Ons huisje (nummer 6) bood heel veel privacy. Het ontbijt is super, het zwembad van een heerlijke temperatuur en je hebt direct toegang tot het uitgestrekte strand. Ga voor al eten bij Prya Moon, slechts een minuut lopen van Sanjis. Supergoed eten voor een lage prijs. We misten toch eigenlijk wel een airco, maar aan de andere kant neemt dat ook wel weer de beleving van binnen = buiten weg. Prijzen voor eten en drinken bij Sanjis zijn wat hoog.

Food really needs improving…but there were very nice eateries close by. Some areas in urgent need of maintenance…eg decking round pool, bizarre electrics in rooms. Could have done with a/c….it was very hot

• Christian (10/5): Traumplatz zum Entspannen - Ein traumhafter Platz um einfach die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ruhige Lage im Paradies. Gepflegte Anlage. Freundliches Personal und Hotel Manager. Die Bungalows mit dem außenliegenden Bad sind wunderbar. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und wird am Platz serviert. Preis-Leistung ist super. Genau soviel Luxus wie es nötig ist. Es hat an nichts gefehlt (vielleicht die Klimaanlage für manche Menschen 😜). Aber dafür weht die frische Meeresbrise.
• Michalina (10/5): Rewelacyjne miejsce, do którego z pewnością wrócilibyśmy podczas pobytu na Sri Lance! - W całym obiekcie panuje niesamowicie rodzinna atmosfera i od pierwszego momentu właściciel, jak i personel otacza cię niezwykłą gościnnością i opieką. W pokojach jest bardzo czysto, co rzadko się zdarza. Pokoje są przestronne i codziennie dokładnie sprzątane. Łazienki są piękne i w klimacie panującym na całej Sri Lance. Polecamy również jedzenie- śniadania, jak i obiady, a szczególnie świeżą rybę z ogniska. Plaża obok obiektu jest czysta, a od pokoju dzieli ją kilkanaście kroków. Co więcej, na terenie obiektu można spotkać małpich sąsiadów, co tylko dodaje uroku temu miejscu i jest zarazem niesamowitym doświadczeniem. Z pełnym przekonaniem, polecam każdemu! Nic
• Rika (10/5): - Sehr ruhige Lage und eine paradiesische Überraschung wenn man das Gelände betritt. Man hört nichts außer dem Rauschen der Wellen. Das Personal ist absolut freundlich und hilft in jeder Angelegenheit weiter, seien es nun Wünsche oder tierischer Besuch auf dem Zimmer. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern, sauber und komfortabel eingerichtet. Der Pool hat ebenfalls eine angenehme Größe und war zu jeder Zeit gepflegt und sauber, genau wie der wunderschöne Strandabschnitt. Wir konnten zudem direkt am Hotel Affen, Wasserbüffel und Leguane beobachten. Auch eine Schildkröten Beobachtungsstation gibt es in direkter Nähe. Der Besitzer und seine Familie waren auch zugegen und haben für nette Unterhaltungen beim Essen mit einigen interessanten Lokalen Tipps gesorgt. Wir können dieses Hotel jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen!

• yandy (7/5): Perfect for quiet beach/poolside downtime - The pool and beach area was very relaxing and beautiful. The young guy who works there was wonderful and happy to chat to us and help us out when we realised we left the outdoor bathroom door open.. so we accidentally let the wild monkeys in our room..! Remember to close those doors! Generally the place is really great if you want a couple of days downtime after travelling. The waves on the beach were too large and this is why having the pool was great. The hotel is in quite a remote area along the coast so there aren't many places nearby to explore. This was fine for us as we just needed a few days to relax after travelling.

Great value for money. The WiFi was not very good in the rooms, but it was bearable. The rest was just perfect.

The swimming pool was always clean and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing dip. The bungalows are spacious, comfortable, and offer a great level of privacy. They served us wonderful, delicious Sri Lankan food, which we highly enjoyed.The beach is quiet, clean, and just a few steps away – ideal for unwinding and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Nothing, every think is fine.
• Melanie (10/5): Mein Paradies - Perfekte Lage inmitten der Natur. Einsamer Strand, viele Papageien und Affen, wunderschöne Natur. Die Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet, mit offenen Bädern, hohen Schlafzimmern für mehr Luftstrom und einem super Pool. Mein Sohn hat das Baden hier geliebt. Das Essen und die frisch gepressten Säfte waren hervorragend. Alles sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das nächste Mal bleiben wir hier mehrere Wochen. -

Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und stets hilfsbereit, sodass wir uns von Anfang an willkommen gefühlt haben. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet und boten einen schönen Blick – ideal zum Entspannen. Besonders begeistert waren wir vom Essen: landestypisch, frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet – jedes Gericht war ein Genuss! Die entspannte Atmosphäre, die direkte Nähe zum Meer und die liebevolle Gestaltung der Anlage machen Sanjis zu einem perfekten Ort für Erholung und Genuss. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
• Xanthe (1/5): Absoluut geen aanrader. - Het is een rustige ligging voor als je echt niks wil doen en niemand in de buurt wil. - er is geen airco, de ventilator die aanwezig is geeft niet genoeg frisse lucht. Het is ondraaglijk in de kamer. - Er zaten insecten in de kamer. Na het melden van dit, kregen we een andere kamer waar een kakkerlak zat. - Wij gingen normaal 3 nachten blijven, gezien we bij het inchecken direct moesten betalen (was de enige keer in 3 weken Sri Lanka) konden we niet annuleren. We gaven aan dat we wouden vertrekken gezien alle dingen die al gebeurd waren (insecten, te warm). We kregen hierop een onvriendelijk antwoord dat dit onmogelijk was. Hierdoor waren we €120 kwijt voor niks. - Er zijn weinig of geen restaurants of bars in de buurt. Je kan enkel eten in het hotel, wat ze ook 3 keer per dag komen vragen. - bij het ontbijt komt de baas bij elke tafel een “praatje” doen, wij vonden dit heel ongemakkelijk. - er heerst een vreemde, rare sfeer. Geen aanrader - het zwembad is vuil en niet onderhouden. Veel kleiner als op de foto’s en de tegels rond het zwembad zijn kapot.
• Rebecca (10/5): - Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Strand und ist traumhaft. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war hervorragend. Die Zimmer haben keine Klimaanlage. Es gibt jedoch einen Ventilator, der für gute Bewegung der Luft sorgt. Somit konnten wir trotzdem gut schlafen. Sobald es dunkel wird, sollte man es vermeiden im Bungalow Licht anzumachen, da sonst viele Tierchen den Weg hineinfinden. Um das Bett ist jedoch ein Insektennetz, das beim Schlafen schützt.

• Jean-Marie (10/5): Un petit coin de paradis - Un endroit magnifique au bord de l’océan. Le personnel est adorable et à nos petits soins. L’ambiance y est chaleureuse et les bungalow au top ! Je recommande vivement!
• Noémie (6/5): - Le cadre : calme, front de mer, piscine, transats Personnel sympathique Très bons jus Manque d’une vraie climatisation (seulement un ventilateur), il fait très chaud dans la chambre Toiture ouverte = présence de nombreux insectes et animaux dans la chambre : cafard géant, moustiques, lézard, grenouille (Et cela s’empire si on allume la lumière) Repas aux prix excessifs par rapport au Sri Lanka et à la qualité des plats proposés.
• Aurelia (7/5): - Beaux bungalows dans un joli cadre donnant sur la plage. Très tranquille. Douche extérieure extra. Belle piscine. Il y a un endroit de massages juste à côté très bien. Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas satisfaisant. Pas de climatisation, impensable pour une chambre à 86 euros la nuit. Pas de bouilloire dans la chambre pour se faire un thé ou un café. Pas de frigo. Tout est payant (et plutôt cher). Le petit déjeuner est en sus (8 dollars par personne). Les lames de la terrasse au bord de la piscine sont cassées, c’est très dangereux on pourrait se blesser au pied facilement. Éviter de venir avec des enfants !!!
• Lucie (6/5): - Das Personal ist super nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Die Unterkunft an sich ist auch sehr schön und gepflegt. Sehr ruhig und idyllisch - man hört nachts die Wellen! Leider war das Bett nicht wirklich sauber. Wir hatten 2 Nächte dort und hatten Sandfliegen - demnach den ganzen Körper voller juckender Stiche/Bisse. Die Lage ist weit außerhalb und ohne eigenes Tuktuk/ Roller sehr schlecht angebunden! Das Essen im Hotelrestaurant war leider auch nicht wirklich gut… Preis Leistung in diesem Hotel (Wie wir finden) leider nicht gut. Es war unser teuerstes Hotel und das einzige ohne Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank.

• Mark (10/5): Super relaxing - Beautiful pool and lovely beach area. Lovely outdoor bathroom and balcony area on the cabana. Friendly staff and lovely breakfasts. Having a massage on the balcony was a real treat.
• Roberto (10/5): Sehr angenehm, erholsam und wohltuend - Groß, geräumig, ruhig, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Kleine, nette Restaurants in geringer Entfernung. Das Baden im Meer ist aufgrund der hohen Wellen und sehr starken Strömungen nur für sehr gute Schwimmer zu empfehlen. Das Personal selbst rät vom Baden im Meer deshalb ab.
