- Paul (6/5): - I like that it is in a very quiet location and the staff are very friendly. This was my 3rd stay.Unfortunately on the first night I was kept awake by some guests in a room near. They were talking loudly and swearing till about 3.30 in the morning. Then they didn't get up till late morning.I thought about going to reception during the night.I did mention it to staff the next morning.

- Jakub (8/5): - Room was small, but clean. Hot water straight away at the shower.
Kettle and all things ready. Can't complain. .
Breakfast fine, just needed to pay for coffee. Paid coffee
- ashley (9/5): I would stay again, good value, nice vibe - The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Limited parking and pool table had less cloth than my T shirt
- Lee (10/5): -
- Soliu (10/5): I got great value for my money - The price was very good and I was given a complimentary breakfast throughout my stay. This is very awesome 👌 Everything was OK for me
- Margaret (9/5): - We have stayed at the Jonas several times as its location is convenient. This time, we had one of the more spacious double rooms and preferred it to the smaller ones. Morning coffee and pastry always appreciated. The room worked for us as we were not around during the day. Otherwise, the awkward Internet connection/TV links would be an irritation.
- Margaret (8/5): - This hotel has a distinctive, casual style that suits us, e.g, morning coffee is available at reception. While in Sheffield, this location is economical and convenient. The small double bedroom was rather hot overnight.
- Valentin Petrica (10/5): - Clean, free parking, complementary coffee and croasant in the morning +
- Heidi (9/5): -
- elifas (10/5): -
- Dorota (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - Good location for us,welcoming staff, room clean.got us extra pillows and a fab when we asked.
- SARAH (6/5): Would stay again as price & location great but for only one night as beds aren’t comfy. - Like the self service but ran out of selection
Pain au chocolate pastry not available As above
- Susan (5/5): OK ish. The price is right. - The room was spotlessly clean, the mattress and pillow comfortable Finding the hotel was difficult in the dark. The signage is almost invisible: I had to park the car and walk the street, but still couldn't identify it. I rang the hotel number but it was just an answerphone, and no-one rang me back. Eventually I realised it was part of a much bigger sign for a separate conference hotel, amongst multiple blocks of student accommodation. The entrance has a barrier, with a button to press for reception to let your vehicle in, which I discovered by checking in on foot first.
The web info suggested that 'pastry and coffee' and 'breakfast' were separate things, but in fact breakfast was pastry and coffee, with a strict admonition that it was to be one pastry and one cup of coffee only...
The rooms are typical basic student accommodation, with a bed, desk, hanging space and ensuite. No kettle, drinks or biscuits. No hairdryer.
- Tim (9/5): - Check in and out is hassle free. Good location room is fine. Good value. Breakfast nice surprise. Botanical gardens down the road are worth a short walk. Quiet location but Can be noisy with students coming home at night but I don't begrudge them a good night out.
- Ian (10/5): Very nice location and convenient - It does what’s required A bit dated
- Simon (8/5): -
- Clitherow (6/5): -
- Shahzad (8/5): Thank you for a great stay - Location,
Cleanliness,
WiFi,
Hospitality.
Staff. Some loud local students in the surroundings at late night.
- Tadas (10/5): Good stay on budget,no complaints! - Pretty comfortable Bit noisy at the time
- Belinda (6/5): -
- Shaun (7/5): If price is the dominant factor for an overnight stay this is the place for you. Its economy. - The price was very good so expectations cannot be high for the price and was well kept. This was student accommodation turned into a value hotel. The bed was small and the room small. Unfortunately if you didn't get there on time you had to look for parking on the street. No coffee making facility in the room, but a croissant and coffee was provided downstairs in the reception area which was a bonus.
- VIKAS (10/5): Awesome - Good room size and very clean. None.
- VIKAS (10/5): -
- Mjh (3/5): - Location I did not feel welcome at all , ran by youngsters and it was obvious
- Robert (6/5): - Towels were new and unwashed, so left fluff residue. Desk old and needs update.
- Tiffany (7/5): -
- E Gibreel (8/5): -
- Simon (4/5): Could have been better - Very basic Staff were rude and not helpful
- Waleed (2/5): Room were clean and tidy but bed was not comfortable at all. I couldn’t sleeping all night - Room were clean The state of head board was terrible. Bed and matters quality is really poor
- Denise (8/5): -
- David (10/5): Great value - will do again - Breakfast was free and unexpected which was great Free WiFi did not work
- Bernie (10/5): - Nearly everything Room too warm to sleep
- Tanis (8/5): -
- Anne (6/5): - Close to where I needed to be
Inexpensive
Clean
Quiet enough as middle of the week in March
- Prashant (10/5): - Free breakfast for all, Kitchen service
- tonelise (8/5): Good comfort and great deal for the price. Had a great time and will return. - Fantastic stay for the price. Comfortable bed and friendly staff. I had everything I needed and more. The delicious pastry and coffee was a huge bonus. So was the kitchen facilities. Fast Internet, easy to connect. I am planning to stay again next year.
- Laura (7/5): -
- Robert (8/5): Value for money. - Good location, complimentary breakfast.
Value for money. Took the quilt cover off to assist cleaning staff in their duties and quilt had very questionable stains on it.
Shower didn’t drain away very well so ended up standing in two inches of water, the later not a real issue. The former… quilts could be replaced or cleaned when stained.
- Catherine (9/5): -
- NEIL (9/5): Excellent value - Very helpful staff for late check in. Room clean. Comfortable bed. Excellent value for money. Possibly a bit more parking
- Helen (10/5): Great hotel for the price - The price for the hotel and location was great. Very clean and comfortable . Very quiet the time I stayed Nothing
- Marian (8/5): -
- Chris (10/5): - Good location, friendly helpful dtaff
- India Cottage (7/5): Good location. - Easy to find..clean bedding and clean shower room. Friendly staff. I have gluten and dairy free diet and did email the hotel in advance but the staff had to fetch something from the next door hotel and it was only cornflakes and the oat milk was not gf. The shared kitchen was not kept clean and tidy. People around the campus were noisy during the night and very early morning. Not enough parking.
- Patricia (5/5): -
- Tim (9/5): Excellent value and would definitely stay again, just make sure it aligns with your requirements. - It was exactly as expected. Great location, and good facilities. Excellent value for money and the complimentary coffee and croissants much appreciated. Good communal areas to meet up with family and the room was very clean Not really a criticism as we knew what we were expecting, and had paid for, but be warned that the room and bed were compact, but that was clearly explained before arrival.
- Mariana (8/5): - Room was very clean
- Anna (9/5): - Having access to a kitchen Could have done with WiFi connectzd TV
- Amy (8/5): -
- Zak Nicoll (8/5): -
- Claire (6/5): Good value but quite noisy! - Staff are very helpful
Breakfast pastry and coffee is very pleasant and the dining area is nice
Good power shower
Very good value Room was dusty and mattress needs replacing
Fire doors mean that there's a lot of noise from slamming throughout the night, into the early hours.
Being based near student halls also means a lot of noise from outside into the night.
- Jane (8/5): Good value for money accommodation. - Room & ensuite were clean.
Bed spacious.
good value
Students weren't nosiy! A kettle and small fridge would be nice
Parking was a little difficult. I had quite a lot of kit with me which I couldn't leave in car on street.
- Giorgio (8/5): -
- Stuart (7/5): - Free parking. Helpful staff. Inexpensive It's a bit noisy,
- Eduardo Rafael (7/5): Fair for the price - Very clean, a bit small but fair for the price Room was very hot even when the heater was off.
It was somewhat noise at night, like someone hitting the pipes sometimes overnight.
Water in the shower was draining too slowly.
- Steve (10/5): Great value rooms. Very clean. Would use again -
- Chris (5/5): - The bed area was cozy The bed was hard and the shower had black mold running my the sides of the walls
- Alasdair (8/5): - Clean, comfortable and good value for money.
- Bradley (7/5): -
- Marc (10/5): -
- Chad A (5/5): - Good location fair price Uncomfortable bee and windows wouldn't open properly
- louise (7/5): - Value for money. Lovely setting behind the Halifax & part of the student complex. Room was a decent sized & almost a three quarter bed. Shower & toilet facilities fine. Free fresh pastries in the morning. Bus no 6 takes you into the city centre - though not frequent. Halifax Hotel in the same grounds has a bar & restaurant which served very nice food. For the price it can't be faulted This is student accommodation & is probably different out of term time. So the walks are a bit thin with lots of shrieking & running about. My landing also smelt heavily of cannabis. Other issue I had was poor WiFi connection. Possibly too many students on it but whatever my Samsung Tablet refused to work for more than a minute which was very annoying.
- Steve (8/5): Great value for the money! Morning croissants were great! - The room was nice, the bed was comfortable for our two-night stay. The hotel provided a fan, which was nice to help cool the room off at night.
- Alexandra (8/5): -
- Guest (10/5): -
- cueeye (5/5): - Car parking , included Found it a bit pathetic and penny pinching saying ONE croissant 🥐 and ONE coffee/tea for the "breakfast" considering no kettle in rooms.
- Janet (8/5): More of a hostel than a hotel - It has a kitchen The kitchen equipment (crockery, cutlery) is paltry. No forks, spoons, cups, just a drawer full of knives but no chopping knife.
- VIKAS (10/5): - 👍
- Rosemary (9/5): -
- Sian (8/5): - Excellent budget option in pleasant part of the city. Particularly appreciated access to a kitchen and fridge/freezer. Good wifi.
- Marshall (8/5): -
- Julie (8/5): Fantastic value, perfect for a short visit to Sheffield. - Close to uni halls, parks and Botanic Gardens and cafes and shops in Ecclesfield Road.
Clean rooms with essentials for short stay. Facilities including comfortable communal rooms and kitchens. Free Parking available.
Friendly, helpful staff. Can expect some noise from surrounding student halls. Quiet after 11 pm.
- Katie (8/5): - Perfect location to see my daughter in the halls There was an awful sewer smell in the bathroom
- Andy (7/5): Ok. - The reception staff I encountered (two women, one red headed and one dark haired with a nose piercing) were both lovely, friendly and efficient.
The room was ok and in a decent location. For starters there was black mould in the shower and the extractor fan might as well have not been there, the communal kitchen wasn't great with cutlery being hard to find and my cupboard being locked for some reason.
Might be nice to have a vending machine available though there's one in the hub which I believe is open late if needed.
- Stalker (8/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Maggie (10/5): - Friendly staff. Easy to find. Room was compact but very comfortable and quiet. The parking is a little hit and miss. We parked no problem but another customer wasn't happy that he couldn't find anywhere to park.
