From the cozy rooms, to tennis courts to 2 swimming pools to spa amenities to outstanding Greek cuisine, it offers a wonderful get-away for couples and families. It's location is close to shopping in Sparta and the ruins of the Mystras Castle. If you're in Greece, a must stay is this wonderful resort.

- Sandra (8/5): Good but not great - Lovely hotel just a bit too far from Mystras town to be able to walk in. Great pool area but the bar and outdoor restaurant weren’t open yet mid May Our room had a balcony with a nice view but looks like not all have a balcony. Room was very dark, hardly any natural light. Had a beautiful claw footed bath but not allowed to use it as it leaks according to reception. The shower over it was a hand held contraption and had a large step to get into but hard to get out of so not great if you’re older. The restaurant food and staff were very good. Free on site parking, an unusual thing from Greece!

The room was lovely although a little dark, and the bed was one of the comfiest beds I have ever had the fortune of sleeping in. The pool (and the pool bar service) was top class. The tennis courts were lush and set against a gorgeous mountain backdrop. The gym could do with a little update but who am I to complain. And the cherry on top of an already fabulous hotel, was the dinner. Christos was the most amazing and attentive waiter who made us feel so welcome. He recommended such a delicious wine and even introduced us to the world of mastika. The only fault was the cooked breakfast could be better but who am I to complain. Thank you Mystras!!
- sebastien (10/5): - Beautiful property. Looks like a vineyard. Rooms were very comfy and fully stocked with all amenities. Beautiful tennis courts and pools . Great , attentive and very kind service ( both at the hotel, poolside and restaurant) Breakfast buffet was amazing and offered lots of traditional items in addition to the classic fare. My advice: Forget the scrambled eggs , pancakes and doughnuts for once and give the other options a chance ! Diner was on the pricier side - it is fine dining after all- but definitely worth it! Try the Octopus and shrimp carpaccio! Minor criticisms : Pool closes at 7 pm, which is a shame given the pool bar and pool restaurant . Also, Music choice ( hip hop and 80s tunes) and volume were a bit high and out of place during breakfast, especially with the gorgeous views of the mountains and gorges in the distance. But the staff was prompt to address this once notified. Overall a great experience.

The best part is the location - it's absolutely stunning being at the foot of the mountains and seeing the ruins of Mystras from the hotel, which is less than 10 minutes away. If you're coming to the Peloponnese, you must see Mystras. If you're going to see Mystras, this is a perfect place to stay.

- Christine (4/5): Not my type of resort - Five stars for the Impressive breakfast spread packed in two large rooms and hardworking helpful wait staff… they even have an old fashioned hot sand Turkish coffee maker. All buildings are fairly new, large modern bathroom with huge shower, Room walls are stone that made the room fairly dark, every time returning to the room, it smells musky. Thin and hard towels, thin mattress. No screens so can’t open windows or doors unless one is immune to mosquitoes and flying insects. Few minutes from the Mystras ancient site and short ride to the Acropolis of Sparta. Worst 35 euro per person buffet dinner with music by the pool STRONGLY recommended by the front desk. Not only the six chafing dish of hot food over nuked and uneatable. Few pieces of fruit and prepackaged desert were awful too. The wait staffs were slow and rude. This was the worst meal we had for the entire four weeks trip in Greece. Can’t comprehend the night and day difference of breakfast and dinner. Annoying: receptionists at checkout asked for tips, when we replied no, her face changed and turned away. My years of travels and hundreds of hotel stays, I have never been asked to give tips during hotel checkouts.

Great breakfast buffet. Free parking. Looks like old village in an olive grove. You won't find better anywhere around this area.

Good for families, romantic breaks for couples or oddball father-son pairs who are visiting nearby ancient/medieval ruins. The rooms were great and quiet. The onsite restaurant is excellent indeed. Breakfast options were plentiful. Highly recommend spending a couple of nights here if you are travelling around Greece.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Room for growth - This resort has a lot of potential but definitely seemed a little rough around the edges. It seemed like there wasn’t enough staff to maintain a property of this size—large parts of the grass were uncut on arrival. The pools and facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff often seemed to be trying to do too many jobs at once, however, and one evening this resulted in a dinner where it took over 40 minutes to get a menu. The food itself was mediocre. Due to COVID-19, there was no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room and they charged 5 Euro for a mug of tea. While I would likely not stay here again, the resort may outgrow some of these disappointments.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Mystras Grand Palace is a 4 Star Country Club masquerading as a 5 star resort. The property is currently run for the benefit of local daily entry clientele and friends and family. There is a distinct lack of international guests which no doubt has impacted on their model/offer. Staff are friendly and helpful but management are clueless on how to run a 5 star property. Management and staff sharing and enjoying the pool and cafe/restaurant facilities with guests was something I have never seen at any other 5 star hotels. Another example is where we were locked out of our room with the automatic door failing and no master key available. The General Manager, Duty Manager and front desk were unable to locate a master key or open the door. Eventually the CEO of the hotel was tracked down and he was able to open our door. There is a very 'relaxed' atmosphere with regards to the day to day running of the hotel that made it have a Country Club feel rather than a 5 star resort. The property itself it good and has potential with more professional management in place and/or licensing agreement with an international chain.

- PeterT. (8/5): - Great location and setting. Grounds were kept in pristine condition. Staff friendly and curious. Great breakfast included. Rooms were designed nicely but poorly executed. We had a total of 3 rooms individually booked. 2 rooms had issues. A handicapped room was assigned the head issues with the shower wand. No place for a non-handicap person to attach the shower wand on the wall. It took the staff three days to come in and install simple holder. The other room which was on the second floor also had issues with the bathroom. This room had a huge deep bathtub with a glass enclosure. To access the bathtub you had to traverse a step then into the tub which was very deep. Also the design was flawed as water leaked all over the floor making it very slippery and dangerous. The front desk was informed of this issue the first day and was told it will be taken care of. Which it was not. Even though we had these issues I will definitely return catchup and stay longer especially in the summertime and enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool area. I would though recommend only ground floors and non-handicapped accessible rooms.
