- Kelly (3/5): - Owing to the recent drainage issue the apartment had a lot of flying insects and dirty cupboards. Also the cleanliness in general of the apartment was well below the usual standard for the property
- Anthony (3/5): - Gd location Not the cleanist mouldy smell in hall way . Not the cleanist inside the flat and lots of dead flys on the window which hadn't been cleaned up and small flys flying around in the flat.
- Abd Halil (10/5): - ❤️ 💕
- Draper (5/5): - The location of the apartment is great, centre of the town. Clean Sink was broken and leaked all over the floor (acknowledged with a bucket but looked to have been broken a while. Beds where also uncomfy. Was given the wrong keycode for the key box which took us a while to get in to.
- Matt (8/5): Would stay again - Clean, tidy, modern amenities Kitchen sink and dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor.
Lack of baking trays and pots for cooking meals
- Roger (1/5): Bad - You need to take a look your self, I did take some photos, there was a 40euro charge for cleaning on the Bill that's a joke, there was a note asking you to clean up.will not be stopping there again and I will not be recommending it to anyone, thanks Flat 5, where to start the house is old and needs much work on it, when I got in the hall it was dirty look like a tip and a very bad smell, we then went to the stairs they were steep and dirty looking, got to the bottom the place looked like a drug den.there was a bad step in to the flat,it was very hard to open the door,at first it did not look bad but on further inspection it was not that clean, the bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied and was half full of rubbish the mattress had stained on them, the ironing board was broken the iron only got warm, there was only 1and toilet rolls to last 5days, the door handles to living room was hanging off, the chairs were old and thread Bear, the oven had a dirty used tray in it, when you looked out of the window all you could see was a wall and a lot of rubbish, I didn't enjoy my stay it was very rough there,
- Amal (10/5): a perfect place -
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- G (6/5): Pleasant -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (2/5): Very poor - The outside of the building is in a shocking state of disrepair. Window sills rottien, curtains hanging off, and very dirty. There were loads of people hanging around and I did not feel at all safe to be staying there. I was born in Newmarket but no way would I want to be in that building as a lone woman. On the advice of my son I sought accommodation elsewhere
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Clive (9/5): Superb -
- Mcneil (10/5): Exceptional - Good location near the centre of Newmarket, but still quiet.very comfortable with everything you need.felt very spacious as well.
Even though I was concerned about finding a parking space outside, I always found one.
- Linda (4/5): Bedroom ok bathroom and kitchen let it down yuk - We had to wash all the cutlery and the holder in the drawer as it had food stuck to it. The plug stuck in the sink and when we finally got it out the smell and grime stuck to it was disgusting. The sink in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for ages there was film on it and again the smell was awful
- Joseph (10/5): Pleasant two nights stay at reasonable cost - Nice clean apartment close to high street in quiet area Nothing
- Emily (8/5): Just the job. - Ideal base for a work stay in Newmarket. Had everything we needed.
- David (8/5): Nice spacious apartment - Quite a large spacious property, had everything necessary. Normally guests need to make up the sofa bed themselves upon arrival. Requested as we were arriving late that it could be made up so if necessary our kids could go straight to bed. Never received a response but were pleased to find on our arrival the sofa bed was made up ready for us Beds were quite small, especially considering the space. Shower drained slowly so easily spilled onto bathroom floor. No privacy curtains or blinds on the windows so as a basement apartment facing the street any pedestrians passing by could look in or we had to keep heavy curtains closed which meant no daylight while getting dressed/ready in the morning.
- Moran (10/5): Awesome - VFM Location and size
- Sami (8/5): Good value for money. - Nicely renovated and well equipped facility. The beds were super soft, more than a bit harder mattress would be more generic fitting.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wood (8/5): Lovely apartment - Beautiful apartment and great location. Comfortable beds in bedroom. Great shower. Parking available. Secure access to building Sofa bed too hard. Couldn't lock door to the apartment from outside. More milk and toilet rolls would have been good.
- Margaret (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay. The host was very helpful when the TV was not working. hen the - The flat was spacious and within easy distance of shops and restaurants. It was in a nice area. Near the racecourse and gallops Because it was a basement flat the steps down to it were quite steep.
- Thiruchelvam (9/5): It was a really nice place to stay and relax. - Nice location.
- Johnross (10/5): Exceptional - Location Nothing
- Jane (7/5): Great for the centre of town - I stayed five nights. The location was ideal for my needs & I was able to park for free initially up near The Gallops (a short way up the road) & was able to move my car outside the property later. The apartment had everything I needed & was clean + tidy.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Good location and very clean
- Brian (9/5): Very enjoyable, , we have already booked for next year, - Very spacious ,clean and warm, Men’s underwire were left in bedside locker, ,drawers in the bathroom and sitting room were full of rubbish,
This did not distract from our enjoyable stay,
On entering the house we were met with a dirty hallway, but again the apartment was clean
- Tracey (6/5): Pleasant -
- Abd (7/5): Good - Quiet place There is no wifi
- Kenneth (9/5): A very good apartment option in Newmarket at a very good price. - Good value. Convenient location Steep stairs to lower level can be challenging.
- Moreland (7/5): Good -
- Markgibson (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fine.
- Sharon (8/5): Did the job - Stayed for two nights at The Stratford Apartments. On the good side, it was spacious and had a good size shower. The beds and furniture were all comfortable. On the down side it smelt really quite damp and there were some amazing cobwebs in the bathroom. Great for short stays, location was excellent. It suited our needs but wouldn't like to stay longer.
- Deborah (6/5): - Such a shame that the outside and entrance to this flat is so dirty & grubby. The pile of dumped rubbish outside was not good either. The entrance & stairway is very grubby & smells damp. Needs a good clean & paint. The flat could be lovely if did not smell damp. Also you charge £30 extra for cleaning?? We had to Hoover behind the beds as cobwebs also false nails! We had to Hoover round windows as full of cobwebs & spiders. Could not use any units in bedroom as full up with bedding &/or were dirty. All need to be wiped clean. Sink in bathroom dirty. Window cills full dust. No bath as advertised. Freezer door not attached. Kettle disgusting. All kitchen drawers need a clean. Windows do not look like they have been cleaned for months. As it’s basement flat your outlook is a brick wall but would be nice if the outside area was cleaned up as you just look out to dirt/leaves/mess. Also note that if more than two people staying there is only one toilet/shower which is in the bedroom.
If cleaned could be a nice place.
- Natalie (8/5): - The apartment is in a great location, close to the town centre and convenient to get to the racecourse. As others have mentioned the outside and lead up to the apartment lets it down which is not much you can do. Unfortunately there had been a water leak and the cupboard with the water tank in opposite was open giving a musty smell which didnt help. The apartment itself was tidy, the bedding all clean and equipped with complimentary tea and toiletries. The bathroom was clean albeit with a few extra spider guests! The bedroom wall had a squahed insect on the wall and a dead fly in it which wasnt great. The cooker had been cleaned but not enough and as result I didnt want to use it and washed all utensils before using.
The beds were comfortable, shame we didnt get much sleep due to noise in the flat above which again can't be helped. We had to reattach curtains to hooks in both lounge and bedroom on arrival.
I would stay again as I thought it was a good location and pretty clean inside but I know my partner didnt feel secure in there and therefore we would probably look elsewhere next time. The company were prompt with emails and instructions.
- Lynda (8/5): Excellent location and value for money. - Excellent location for centre of Newmarket. Lots of street parking. Spacious and well equipped apartment. Good walk in shower.
- Alison (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, good information for access, good WiFi. Spacious apartment, everything you need. Did not realise this is a lower level apartment which wasn't a problem for me but would be for some. Stairs quite steep. Not dark but no outlook, on a busy road so quite a bit of traffic noise and a lot of noise from upstairs apartment, I realise not much can be done about either of these things. A little bit more attention to detail would also go a long way, for example, the bin lid was broken off, curtains detached from some of the runners making them awkward to close. Some glasses and cutlery and crockery grubby. Mattresses very soft so not very supportive but that is a personal preference thing.
- Danielle (9/5): Superb - Very spacious, modern and well appointed kitchen. Great location.
- Christine (7/5): Very suitable for a group of three people. - Good location, comfortable and well appointed The apartment had not been serviced when we arrived. However a phone call resulted in the cleaner attending within an hour and cleaning/servicing was carried out to a good standard.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Very clean and tidy. Nothing
- Nicola (6/5): basic but clean - clean and good location it was a good base
- Estelle (5/5): Passable - Location really good Issue with main door lock every time you came in, dishwasher full of dirty crockery, not enough kitchen items such as jug, grater etc. No welcome pack . Smelled of smoke even though its listed as no smoking
- Dániel (10/5): Exceptional - Large flat, loads of spaces
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (7/5): Comfortable place to stay - For one person(i.e my case) the flat was very spacious. It was clean and had all the necessary utensils in the kitchen etc, as well as an iron and cleaning materials (useful for a week's stay). It was comfortable! I was a bit surprised that the flat was at the basement level (read - don't open the curtains, and not much sunlight). It was also slightly humid inside and the upstairs neighbours made some noise at night (nothing unacceptable, but noticable).
- Anonymous (10/5): Amazing - It was in an amazing location and the facilities were some of the best I’ve seen of a B&B! n/a
- Jan (10/5): A pleasant surprise - The apartment was clean, comfortable and well-equipped ( even a cafetiere ). Finding that there was a sofa bed was good. The approach along the stairs isn't wonderful, a bit drab and unloved but once in the apartment, all is good. There is some street parking right outside the Stratford and we were lucky and bagged a space, otherwise free parking nearby in other streets.
- Raymond (10/5): Newmarket apartment - Apartment was clean and nice. Had good wifi.
