Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): - Super clean, quiet. They need a sign for the driveway. Cannot see the front of the building until you miss the driveway and look back.
- Melinda (10/5): - Not a well kept place. Bathroom was dirty and not cleaned
- Lynn (10/5): - Staff was very nice, room very comfortable and quiet. Location was just as we needed.
- Jill (4/5): - I used Expedia and I called 5 days prior to verify the room and the hotel still didn’t have the correct room. They did not have any record of me calling. The room was dirty. I used my own wipes to clean the sink (toothpaste residue), the fixtures, and the bathtub. There were crumbs on the furniture and some sort of crud on the wall. There was dog hair on the futon. I didn’t say anything because I was in town for a family function and the person that arranged it was stressed. The bathroom in the hallway was also dirty and not cleaned the entire time we were there. Too bad because the staff was friendly.
- Terry (2/5): - Wet Urine and hair on the toilet, sunflower seeds half eaten on the floor, a medication pill on the floor, filthy fridge, unclean sheets, not changed. Didn’t smell fresh at all!
Also when we arrived there she gave us the key to room 120, said it’s already opened, just around the corner. Sure enough, door left a jar I even snapped a picture the door was left a jar, so anybody could’ve walked into that room before we got there. We’ve never in the history of traveling have ever seen that before, such filth!!!
Don’t even believe the woman behind the desk was telling us the truth when she said there was a maintenance man that will come fix our loose toilet seat that was almost completely off. When we first got there she said she was fixing a toilet that was plugged in overflowing, that’s why it took her 10 minutes to come to the desk to even service us as we walked in the door to check in. We rang the bell twice.
This is totally unacceptable on every level!
Should you need pictures I took plenty of them!
Oh and one more thing, the hot tub/bathtub in the bedroom area was also filthy!
- Chelsea (8/5): - Room was clean enough. Shower curtain was just the cloth part which was old and ripped. Staff was nice. Gave me extra pillows and blankets. Cute lobby area. Place was quiet.
- LANAYE (8/5): - Great location for the Mesabi Trail.
- Ronald (10/5): - Rooms are clean nice lobby and a good breakfast
- trecia (2/5): - The carpet in the room was filthy. The toilet ran unless you shook the handle. The bathroom fan sounded like a jack hammer and the tub surface was worn out.
- Daniel (6/5): - Had to change room 3 timed due to staff error at check in. Very dated, carpet had holes in common areas. Carpet in rooms had visible stains.
- John (8/5): - Staff is great, breakfast was good. I've stayed here twice for work, both times on a monday. Both nights it was packed. If it's this busy all the time it seems like there should be money for much needed repairs and updates. The longer you put it off the worse it will be when you do it. When I was researching stays, everything in nearby Hibbing and Chisolm were charging upwards of $200 a night. This place was $120. Maybe if they updated the place they could adjust the rates accordingly.
- Kurt (8/5): - What we needed
- STEVEN (10/5): - Stay was great only issue was sink and tub drained very slowly.
- Richard (8/5): It was “fine”. - This place was adequate for a one night stay. Room was relatively clean, front desk persone
- Rochelle (8/5): - The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of variety of pillows. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was great.
- Crystal (10/5): - Very nice place
- Steven (6/5): Wedding yrip - The cable service was down. No big deal was supposed to receive a discount on the bill didn't show up on bill but was corrected at checkout when I pointed it out. Hot water took a long time to get shower in the room wasted a lot of water
- Dana (6/5): - Staff was friendly. Hotel was a bit run down and there is no elevator to access the second floor.
- Stephanie (8/5): - No pool or hot tub. Breakfast was pretty good. Pillows were not that comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was not clean
- John (6/5): - A little rough around the edges. Needs basic repairs and upkeep that if continued to be neglected can spiral out of control in a hurry.
- Marc (10/5): - You can bike from the hotel to the bike park, this was great. Hotel was clean and quiet and the breakfast provided was well done, thanks!
- Crystal (6/5): - The property is slightly run down and in need of some maintenance and new flooring. I can deal with run down but the rooms were also not very clean. Cleanliness goes along way especially when the property is in need of some maintenance.
- Mark (10/5): - Rooms and staff were great!
- Richard (6/5): - The staff was fine. It was quiet. It was peaceful beds were OK. The linen was clean only because they weren’t done when we got there so we know it was floor was vacuumed. Nothing else was wiped off the window still had dirt in it. The screens were torn. Some of the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. They were still here in the shower when we got there.
- Blayne A (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Dawn (10/5): - Bella was very attentive and friendly.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Great place, quiet and very friendly staff.
- Mark (6/5): - Needs remodeling
- james J (6/5): - Very very small tv, motel 6 type amenities, not in the best repair.
- Julie (8/5): - Our room was clean.
- Stacy (6/5): - Bathroom was dirty. Beds were comfortable. Room smelled like a smoker lived here.
- Teresa (6/5): - Was disappointed because they listed property with pool and hot tub? It’s been closed 5 year or more.?
Hair dryer didn’t work.
Breakfast was was horrible
If I would have know this I would have booked closer to the cabin where I took a family for 5 days
- David (10/5): - Nice property
- Charles (10/5): - We stayed 4 nights while visiting family. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose a room here again.
- Holly (4/5): - Initially, when we open the door first smell was of shampooed carpets with dog feces. The breakfast options and availability were very good. The overall cleanliness was good. Staff was friendly. Location was convenient off of 169 and the pricing being below average was perfect for someone on a budget.
- Melver C (8/5): Was - We were told that the damp carpet was because of high humidity.
- Jeanne (6/5): - It was old and bedraggled. Very poor impression when you walk to the shabby doors and broken concrete.
- Kathy (4/5): - My room hadnt been cleaned at all! Toilet was dirty. Tub, bathroom sink were all dirty. Table had crumbs all over it. This room didnt look like it was even cleaned. I was given a second room and it was almost as bad as first one. Alot of money to pay for 2 dirty rooms!
- Josh (8/5): - Travel back from Canada and it was a great stopping location! Had what we needed and easily entertained our young boys. Local food was great and two boys under 5 loved the Minnesota Museum of Mining!
- Cheryl (8/5): - The staff was very nice. My sister and mother also stayed and when my sister thought about if hotel had elevator (they did not) they switched they rooms so my 88 year old mother didn't have to climb stairs.
The shower/ tub had a little issue - the shower head was low for me and as showering the water was slow to drain and I was standing in water.
- Carole (8/5): - The rooms are old, dusty, carpet dirty, bathroom fixtures leak, refridgerator dirty. Beds were comfortable and food was good.
- Kathy (8/5): - Breakfast was good and bed was very comfortable!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Quiet. Clean and nice staff. Good breakfast as well!
- Virginia (8/5): - Good location, reasonable price
- Stacy (4/5): - We’ve stayed at this hotel before when we’ve had softball tournaments in the area. No problems. This stay will be our last one. The AC sounded like a plastic grocery bag was rattling in it all night. Room wasn’t even notably cool. The room was so dated and stains and wall damage showed it. The gal at checkout was rushed and rude to other guests calling to book. Such a disappointing stay.
- Greg (4/5): - Description said there was a pool, hot tub, and sauna but all have been shut down since January
- Dominic (6/5): - The room I stayed in needs updating badly as there were stains on the carpet stains on the bedding of the second bed the wallpaper was peeing off in the bathroom and the shower curtain was dirty
- Matthew (8/5): - Lost power due to storm. TV didn't work. Staff very accommodating.
- Diane (6/5): - I was disappointed the pool and hot tub were not available anymore. Breakfast was very very basic
- Catherine (6/5): - Great Breakfast Friendly staff
- Tammy (6/5): - It is close to Minnesota Discovery Center where our event was held.
- Heidi (2/5): Bad - I had to wait for check in nobody was behind the desk. The room was dirty and had broken mirror and some stains in a sink. Yuck
- Jessica (10/5): Would stay again - Great hot tub in room. Easy check-in/out. Good breakfast options - hot breakfast.
- Teresa (10/5): - Everything was perfect! If you are in the area, stay here for sure!
- taxios (4/5): - Hotel is old and not updated.
The wallpaper above the shower in the room is all peeling , the room carpets are smell like mildew and the room wasn’t the cleanest when we checked in.
There is no ice machine or water station. Staff did provide prepackaged ice bags and water bottles
Won’t stay here unless I have to again.
- JEFFREY (6/5): - The room smelled funky and the chair in our room was worn badly- needs replacing
- Eric (8/5): - Quick check in, quiet room, close parking
- Amanda (2/5): - Property employees were always on break smoking outside. When arrived at hotel, room was dirty and hairs all over shower and sink.
- james J (6/5): - This is a hotel that needs updating, very small TV, amenities on par with a motel 6, general condition is fair to poor.
- Adam (8/5): - Solid stay. Not fancy. Decent breakfast and great, easy to work with staff. Location is industrial rural.
- Jerry (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable very quiet will be staying there again
- david (6/5): - Good stay, good staff property very outdated.
- Cathy (6/5): - Pretty limited on the breakfast selections. Hotel just seems a little run down. We did not appreciate hearing a dog barking in the hotel.
- David (10/5): Great stay in Chisholm - Great stay. Best value anywhere!!!! Clean comfortable room. Good beeakfast.
- Janie (8/5): - Good stay. Great size room.
- Pamela (6/5): - The property needs some major updates on carpets, showers and would be nice if they replaced their pillows with decent ones not cheap. for the money charged for this facility they should be able to afford the updates. The best part of my trip was the lady at the front desk who was very attentive, kind and professional.
- Pamela (10/5): - My stay was pleasant.
- Alissa (6/5): - Property is clise to highway and AC is rather loud and overall condition could use some maintenance.
- Alan (8/5): - The facility is very outdated. The chair in the room is peeling. Nice breakfast and everything was clean. Nothing fancy, but would recommend. Plus there isn't a lot to choose from in Chisholm.
- Fred (2/5): - Room was not cleaned or bed made. Had to change rooms. Carpet on stairs and hallway was torn. TV with Direct TV continued to “buffer” and was unwatchable.
- Mary (4/5): - It was a king bed suite... the overall setting in the room was depressing. The living suite area had only one lamp, the sleeper couch was cheap and hard as a rock. Overhead light was dim and against the brown walls it was unflattering. No pictures in the walls. Blankets were paper thin. Coffee (one packet) was weak and coffee pot did not dispense the coffee into the pot. I had to hold the valve with a stirrer to get the coffee into the pot. Towels were VERY thin and bathroom had many patches in the walls. The shower curtain bar was rusty. ONLY saving item was the shower water and pressure!!! It washed away hours of tense driving and a poor nights sleep!!! I paid $129.00 and NOT worth it...
Thank you
- Rebecca (10/5): - Everything was amazing and the girl that checked us in was very pleasant and friendly the lady in the morning was not so much!!
- Tammy (10/5): -
- Bob (4/5): - Beed some updating
- Martha E (10/5): - The breakfast was Amazing! homemade better than any of the surrounding restaurants or any restaurants I have frequented for that matter. the staff was friendly, the beds were lumpy and not uniform.
- Janet (10/5): - Clean, very spacious. Breakfast was great, Would come again.
- Patti Jo (8/5): - Was very homey.
- Stephanie (10/5): - This was a beautiful spot to stay and welcoming staff. We were looking forward to the pool and or hot tub and it was not open. I would have loved the heads up or a little deduction in price🤔
- PETER (6/5): - Tv was really small. Room was clean but looked old and outdated
- Traci (2/5): - Last night was awful… and there was a centipede in my room, no pool or sauna, they never cleaned my room only gave me towels, the remote didn’t work.
- Kim (2/5): - King size bed, worn out and holes in carpet going upstairs to room, carpet ripped out entrance to bathroom, carpet in room is dirty, shower just trickled out, no pressure, shower was clogged. Horrible 1 night stay for $211.00!! I am letting them know with pictures I want my money back or at least half back. Do not stay here!!
- Kent (10/5): - Quiet location. Pool, hot tub not working.
- Christy (6/5): - Convenient for what we needed - the bedding was basically a sheet - no comforter. February in Northern MN - you need a blanket on the bed not a sheet. Leather recliner chair in room needs replaced, the leather is falling off. Staff was friendly and nice breakfast
- Ashlynn (4/5): - Didnt even stay checked out right away and went and stayed at the bay,had no pool which should be stated on their website
- Kyle (8/5): - It was better than expected
- Brian (10/5): - Everything was really good
- Art (6/5): - Need to be updated
Needs refurbishment
- Nicole (6/5): - Room was not very clean at all. Base boards were
- Heather (10/5): Happy with our stay - The lobby was cozy and inviting. The room was clean and a good price. Comfortable bed. The hot breakfast was the best part! Wonderful! Also, we chose this hotel because they are pet friendly
- Brandon (10/5): - Was nice.
- Alison (10/5): - Parking lot cleaned well from snow. The lobby area nicely decorated for the holiday. Rooms and entire hotel clean and orderly.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Pool was closed
- Hadassah (8/5): - Everything was clean and friendly. I just wish the jacuzzi wasn't so loud.
- Alysse (4/5): - Some things never change and that’s not a compliment when it comes to our stay. My family and I headed up to the hotel late Friday. We got an unexpected call around 9PM asking if we were showing up. We were actually very close, but was told we’d be considered a no show if we weren’t there by 10PM. Found out quickly the pool area “renovation” hasn’t been done for years. Soon after settling in the fire alarm tripped over 5 times between 10PM till 4AM. Thankfully no fire, but also poor communication on what was going on. Ice machine doesn’t work. Furthermore, when we went down to the breakfast room the fridge was completely locked and bananas were brown. This place has so much potential, but it looks like the owner prefers to pinch pennies in place of caring for this hotel.
- Carol (4/5): - The room and even the sheets seemed dirty. The access door at the end of the hall was broken and remained open, even though it was a cold night. I looked at reviews and the pool has been closed for many months, though there is no mention of that when I booked. No ice machine, the breakfast was feeble, not even water in the breakfast room.
- Troy (4/5): - Dirty. Stained carpeting in room. Pool area, and hot tub all closed. Would not check in until evening front desk, understaffed, and long check in process.
- Jeff (8/5): - Coffee and breakfast options were only fair
- Kathy (8/5): - Staff was nice and room was clean. Location very good for us going to races in Hibbing. Pool wasnt in service and more choices for breakfast would be nice. However we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again
- Elizabeth (8/5): - We enjoy the hotel. Beds are comfortable, room is dark, heating unit less noisy than other hotels, pleasant decor, and refrigerator kept our cooler items cold and ice packs stayed nearly frozen. Unfortunately, there was a very active loud thumper above us both mornings. Also the side security door just feet from our room didn’t close at all - a bit unnerving. Hope that’s fixed before our next stay!
- Theresa (10/5): - The room was quiet and clean. No elevator in the 2 story building. Nice accommodations for its location. There’s a McDonalds that is nearby. The breakfast offerings available, but not what I expected. I would stay there again.
