Rebecca (10/5): If you crave relaxation and the convenience of location, boom here. It hit all the marks. - Impeccably clean and cozy. I loved the living room space in the “Davis” room, along with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The property managers thought of everything and gave the perfect balance of helpfulness while leaving us alone. Nothing. It was the best B&B experience I’ve had.
Arlene (10/5): The Mason: Cape May Charm! - It showcased why Cape May is such a beautiful and livable community. This relatively smaller bed and breakfast offered a lovely breakfast in a beautiful Victorian era dining room. The cottage was located near the beach and mall area that offered a nice walking tour for visitors. It also offered a comfortable porch with rockers to enjoy the view. No parking facilities.

Erica (10/5): - We had a perfect first time in Cape May and experiencing our first true Bed and Breakfast! Ro and Eric were the kindest hosts! You can tell they love what they do! They called before our arrival to let us know we can come in early. Upon arrival, Eric gave great suggestions on where to go in the area (everywhere we wanted to go was a 5-10 minute walk from the cottage), and even helped us bring our bags upstairs. Everything in the cottage was well-thought out—from the immaculately clean and gorgeously decorated suite, beach chairs/bikes being provided, 24/7 coffee and tea, and delicious homemade breakfasts! After a long day at the beach and exploring downtown, we sat on the porch and enjoyed the fresh air. It felt like we were in a fairytale book being surrounded by all the beautiful cottages! Eric, Ro, and staff—thank you for making this trip spectacular. We can’t wait to go back!

The walls are a bit thin so you can hear people in the morning (we were on the ground floor )but that is absolutely to be expected in an older home, including at most bed and breakfasts! We slept well and the room was very cozy. We would still absolutely come back! 10/10.

For a busy bed & breakfast, it felt like we had the inn to ourselves and it was probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. The breakfast was incredible and the inn keepers/manager were the perfect hosts! Side note: it’s in the best location between downtown AND the beach.

The house itself is beautiful, of course, and tastefully decorated for Christmas. But the big story here is the pleasant personalities we encountered and the warm atmosphere they create for their guests. While this was our first visit to Mason Cottage, Eric made us feel like old friends. Our room was beautifully appointed, breakfasts were tasty, local advice was on point, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of B&Bs. It will NOT be our last visit here! Mj (7/5): All-in-all The Mason Cottage was a pleasant, quaint and lovel ca y stay and we would certainly recommend to others. - We stayed two nights but could only stay for one breakfast due to a prior commitment on our part. We loved that the cottage was in easy walking distance between Washington Street Mall and the beach. The free availability of beach bikes was very nice as you could ride just about anywhere without having to ever move your car. Rochelle and Eric were excellent hosts and extremely pleasant to talk with. The option to have breakfast on the veranda was very nice and the rockers on the front porch were a nice touch. Cleanliness is a top priority for me when I stay anywhere as my husband can attest, and The Mason Cottage pass the test with flying colors. The extra free towels and coffee bar was very considerate. Although we did not use them, the spa robes were a nice touch. The water pressure was very good considering the age of the home. Regarding the bikes, because they are exposed to the elements, the black rubber seats were very dirty and rubbed off on our clothes. Make sure you wear dark colored bottoms to avoid dark stains showing. The noise and lights of the air conditioner disturbed our sleep as it was inches from our bed. It would have been nice to have a couple of hangers in the closet. We reserved at the last minute and were able to snag the last remaining room, but unfortunately for us it had a queen bed. The bed seemed smaller than a queen perhaps it’s because we’re used to a King. The breakfast fratta was not quite our cup of tea as we were hoping for a more traditional breakfast option.

Mulla (9/5): Superb - Breakfast and friendliness of the host were wonderful. The location is great. Parking is a challenge and more so during holiday weekend. Finding a parking was exhausting after a 3hrs drive and is a bit of a deal-breaker.

We really appreciate all the information they provided right from when we made the booking. We looked forward to the 2-course breakfast every morning! Different, delicious, well-presented, and definitely made with love! The place is cosy, clean and comfy. Cannot think of anything not to like. Even though our room (Columbia) is on the first floor, it is quiet. It's good for easy in and out!

Mark (10/5): The Mason - Cape May NJ - The house itself was stunning. So clean and every corner , every inch of the home was decorated with such class and timeless detail to the error it was built. The staff was super friendly and not too aggressive. They were so attentive yet still gave you space to enjoy your quiet, peaceful stay. The food served was magnificent! And let's not forget the amazing fresh brewed coffee. We can't wait to go back That we didn't stay longer. I mean, there was not one thing we didn't like about The Mason.it was amazing.

Disna (9/5): we were there for two nights and enjoyed my stay. - very nice location. The people working there very nice my room was not properly dusted. I have allergy’s to dust and dusted my self. I did not feel comfortable bringing to their attention at the time of my stay. The glad partition in the shower is not clean. I will stay there again and hope that it is better cleaned.

Elizabeth (10/5): Loved everything about our stay and will definitely return! - Marissa was a warm and welcoming host, explaining all we needed to know about our stay, giving great recommendations for what to do on a Sunday in the off-season and serving a delicious full breakfast. Property is immaculate, well maintained and tastefully furnished. On a girlfriends’ getaway three of us stayed very comfortably in the Franklin suite. As a bonus when asked, Marissa allowed us to be introduced to her two sweet small dogs - sheer joy! Oh, and on arrival we were greeted with grapes, cheese and a chocolate pastries of some sort, scone I think - we’d just had lunch and didn’t indulge! What not to love!

Clifford (8/5): Perfect setting in the historic district. - We felt fortunate to find such a beautiful B&B in the historic district for an overnight stay. It was clean, quiet and the breakfast superb. My only criticism was the lack of available parking. Parking on this street is free but almost nonexistent. I found parking a few blocks away at a church parking lot during the day for $10 but overnight parking was prohibited. With no alternative I left the car there and was relieved that it was not towed.

Diane (10/5): Great place! - I loved my stay at the Mason Cottage and plan to go back. I retired and 2 hours later I started my new life at the Mason Cottage. The room was lovely. The innkeepers were kind and enthusiastic. Food fabulous! Great location to enjoy all that Cape May has to offer.

We had 2 minor complaints, one day the breakfast was so sweet it was like eating dessert. That really didn’t appeal to us. In addition, room’s weren’t being cleaned due to the virus, which was understandable, but the innkeepers didn’t tell us that, only the other guests. We should have been properly informed and told how to get needed supplies. We did have a lovely stay there and would recommend the inn to others.

Verified traveler (8/5): - My boyfriend & I were very disappointed in the breakfast and the innkeepers. First, the meals were not like any bed & breakfasts we’ve stayed in before. Each morning breakfast was written on their blackboard. There were no second choices. It was like or leave it, and we decided to leave it! No fresh fruit or home baked goods were available. Muffins were store bought packed in cellophane and at times were still frozen. The meal itself was supposed to be “gourmet”. They might have been if they were prepared correctly. However they were not. The last gourmet meal was baked oatmeal. I stuck my fork in it & it stood straight up. It was dry, hard and not edible. Most bed & breakfasts are noted for their home cooked meals with fresh fruits and freshly baked goods.

Breakfast was limited to 1 choice witch was on the sweet side. The atmosphere was nice and quiet and They offer free bike rides and beach towels. There was no parking on premise. Our room on first floor was small, but comfortable. The B&B was very clean. The location of Mason House is great. We were visiting in the off season for CM, so it was very quiet. The house is one block from the beach and a few blocks from the downtown mall. Restaurants and shopping are close walks from the Inn. There were bikes to use, we took the short ride to the lighthouse. Breakfast was tasty! Liked the Bloody Marys. Great stay for us, would definitely stay there again if in the area.
