The bathroom wooden door was swollen from the water. We had to ask for more amenities and to change the towels. Breakfast was poorly. It was not worth 100€ per night.

Despite having a $100 bill in my hand, he refused my payment, claiming they didn’t have change. He instructed me to go out and withdraw Egyptian bills from an ATM nearby to complete the transaction. To make matters worse, the hotel, located in the heart of a noisy and dirty market, was plagued by incessant outside noises that persisted even after midnight, keeping me awake until 2 am. This hotel clearly prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, as evidenced by its poor amenities and unreliable internet connection that failed every five minutes. Don’t request a hotel airport taxi here; it’s quite costly. I strongly advise against staying at this establishment.

- Fabiola (6/5): - The property is in a shopping district in Cairo, however, it is difficult for uber drivers to find the property so you have to walk out to the main shopping area road to get uber. There were a few times the elevator did not work and the stairway is very dirty. They need to keep the stairway clean - it was like being in the ghetto. The staff however was very helpful and pleasant and it was much appreciated.

No major amenities but the continental breakfast was nice, tea kettle in the room and the rooms were clean. My big issue is that the photo being used to represent the property and what i expected my room to look like was extremely inaccurate. Felt like another bait and switch.

The hotel was very unclean, with stairwells littered with cigarette butts and noticeable dirt buildup. The rooms were much smaller than expected, and there is no elevator access between the first floor and the reception, which meant carrying our luggage up several steps—a real inconvenience. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and did their best to assist us during our stay.

Nothing of the room description: Superior Double Room, 1 King Bed, Private Bathroom, City View. The price was not worth the room condition camparing with other hotels in the same area, much better condition for less price. The room was tight and there was dust on the shelves of the small closet, no safe box, no welcome water, coffee, or tea in the room. The bed was good, but the sheets weren't very clean. They charged us for early check in (unlike when we visited London and Rome). We needed to stay one more day and they charged us above the price I booked. So many hidden charges/taxes?? the staff in the lunch area were nice and respectful.

The man at the front desk was not welcoming or easy to work with. The room was old and while clean, had years of old dirt and a leak in the shower that caused the bathroom floor to flood with every shower. They only give you one towel per person and a floor towel that we had to wring out after every shower. The location was good and within walking distance to a lot of things and restaurants.

To make matters worst, and to justify the word full bathroom, they just installed a shower right on top of the toilette seat. No way you can take a shower in that area. Firstly, you just do not have space to move. Secondly, you will just flood and make the whole bathroom Inoperable if you do that. - D (2/5): - Do not stay at this hotel. It was terrible. We booked for this hotel well in advance for two people. Check In Time is 2 pm and we arrived at night (around 9 pm). When we arrived, we were told that the room was not ready and it would not be ready for another 2-3 hours. How can a room be not available well after check in time. In the meantime, they gave us a tiny single room (there were two of us with six luggages). We were tired. By the time, 3 hours passed, the room still was not ready and we were constantly told, it will be ready in 15 minutes, minutes passed into hours. We final got the room around 2 pm. I have never experienced anything like this before. Stay away from this hotel is what I can say. Not only did they not give us our room, there was no indication of any kind of compensation and they charged us $10USD more for the shuttle bus back to the hotel when we checked. Speechless!!!

Our Uber driver had a hard time finding it, and then getting to it, because of the narrow lanes with cars parked on both sides. The main street nearby is very lively and bright, though, with nice stores, and good restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. The room we had was TINY, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. I would say, do not use their car service to the Cairo airport - we were quoted USD $30 by the hotel, whereas, we were able to hire an Uber for just around $5 for the same trip!

We arrived and were kept waiting in a cafe area despite reception being manned. After 20 mins I spoke to reception who were incredibly rude and tapped on the keyboard for ages before flatly announcing ‘system is down’ and nothing else. We then witnessed a shouting match between him and other guests. In the meantime I checked the Expedia listing as this wasn’t aligned to our expectations based on ratings - lo and behold we found lots of duplicate reviews but with different names. Utter scam. We immediately left for a reputable establishment- avoid this hotel.

After charging us the full amount, they provided only one room, which wasn’t even a deluxe room. After hours of arguments (lasting until 1 AM), they eventually gave us a second room with 4 beds and claimed that was enough for 5 people. This was far from what we paid for: 3 deluxe rooms. After more back-and-forth, they offered a third twin room but refused to honor our original booking. They promised to rectify the issue the next morning but never did. The hotel lacks basic services, and room service was non-existent. It wasn't just us—several other travelers experienced similar issues that night. This place feels like a complete scam. I urge others to stay away from La Valencia Hotel. It’s not worth your time, money, or energy.

Despite booking nearly three months in advance through Booking.com at a reasonable rate, we arrived to find ourselves victims of a blatant bait-and-switch scheme. On our arrival day, they contacted us to confirm our evening check-in time. However, upon reaching the hotel at 19:00, we were met with a web of contradictory excuses from management. First, they claimed sudden maintenance issues. Then, they insisted we were "late" for check-in. Finally, the truth emerged - they had deliberately given away our pre-booked room to capitalize on higher last-minute rates during the New Year's holiday. Their "solutions" were laughable: first offering a single bed for a couple, then when we demanded they arrange and pay for alternative accommodation, they suddenly "found" two single rooms, asking my wife and I to sleep in different rooms. Meanwhile, they were still actively listing double rooms on Booking.com while claiming to us that none were available due to "system errors." This establishment's predatory practices of overbooking and attempting to force guests into inferior accommodations is a textbook example of exploiting tourists. We ultimately had to find new accommodation late on January 1st after they finally agreed to refund us. Save yourself the hassle and stress - avoid this unethical establishment at all costs. They practically spoiled our holiday and did not even care.

Room we book not available, put us in a room we had to share a bed been travelling nearly 24hrs and wouldnt get in the shower. Room has old mould it was terrible.But had no where else to go about 4am in the morning. They did say they would move us in the morning, and they did, but only basic room, but had 2 beds. Bathroom very small but was better than the last one. Breakfast area is just a area with a few tables with just a packet of tissues for serviettes and nearly all the cups were cracked or chipped. I only had coffee in a paper cup and abit of the breakfast. The area isnt to good either, alot of man hanging around. But just ignored them, we were 2 english ladies in our late 50's and early 60's ,so abit daunting. I would avoid this hotel at all costs the reviews definitely dont match the hotel. And alot of guests we met felt the same

Rooms are extremely small, have no view, sheets are poor quality, cover is too short for the bed, walls are patched with no paint, fan in shower extremely noisy, power plug loose and sparks when connecting. Staff talked loudly in reception all night. Not a King size bed. Staff were friendly and polite. Room was so bad we moved to another hotel after two nights. Good location but DO NOT book this hotel. 10/10 reviews likely done by owner.
