Guest Reviews
- Rolf (3/5): -
- Ricardo (10/5): -
- Siddhartha (9/5): Amazing. - It was great. Really helpful staff. Kitchen could be more clean.
Alles super, danke.

- Kajsa (2/5): Very poor - Nice and close to the tram, staff was super nice to us. Bed was clean and comfortable. Extremely poor condition. Very dirty, locks so unsafe I'd barely call them locks. I wouldn't suggest going as a solo female. I felt pretty unsafe there. The smell in the room was also very bad, we had to open the windows.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Theodosie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anatoliy (7/5): Good -
- Olga (8/5): Very good -
- Fredrik (8/5): Very good - Quiet and clean
- Pavlo (3/5): Awful experience. Would never recommend any females to stay there. - There was a sign on the door, which stated "10 pm till 6 am - quiet time at the hostel", but after 10:30 pm some guys started shouting in French, then fire alarm got on at midnight, because someone was smoking in the room, then an hour later again. Staff was talking extremely loudly at the reception from approx 1 am tilll 3 am, with the door open to the corridor, when the rooms were. The conversation was really intense, rude and loud.
I came for a sleep over, but couldn't sleep at all.
Basically, staff doesn't care for the guests at all.
As well, some weird and suspicious people were around the property. Looked like drug dealers or former prisoners, who were eventually looking for an easy catch.
- Julia (6/5): Pleasant - Beds are not confortable and It was expensive for the service offered
- Joke42 (1/5): I'm honestly surprised Booking.com even offers something like this on their website. - What did you like? Nothing, nothing at all. This is definitely the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. Actually, it's not even accommodation, it's a dormitory of the worst class. I'm honestly surprised Booking.com even offers something like this on their website. It doesn't matter what you book and pay for, the only thing you can get is a bunk in a shared room. So you can safely ignore any descriptions about the equipment or the size and number of beds. And, unfortunately, whether you pay for the whole unit or per bed. It doesn't matter. No whole room is possible. Always a bunk bed in a shared room. Period. Take it or leave it. The sharp bouncer at the door makes sure no one makes trouble. If it wasn't 10PM I would have left immediately and should have done it and slept in the car, this was a completely unnecessary experience. I paid for the whole room for two nights, but as soon as it was light in the morning I got out of there. Never again.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - I can easily access the hotel from Rostock Hbf via S bahn, which comes quite often. It didn't take me long to travel from Rostock Hbf to the hotel. The hotel receptionist was quite friendly, and I met an easy going roommate too. The hotel also isn't located too far from the beach, which I enjoyed a lot.
- Gabriele (8/5): Good location. Pricy for what you get. - Great location as close to Warnemünde and Rostock. Rooms were clean and had been renovated. Reception was only staffed sometimes. Had to ask for toilet paper and cups/cutlery etc as nil in the kitchen. For this price expect tea and coffee provided
- Salah (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandre (5/5): For a short stay I can‘t ask for more, I cannot complain. However I still think that the price is a little bit to high f - The location was good, easy to access. If you‘re lucky you could also meet some nice people there who are also travelling The price was high for what was offered. I also couldn‘t pay the extra charge with cards so I had to withdraw some cash, quite inconvenient. Furthermore it can get real noisy at nights especially if a new comer comes late in the hotel to check-in
- Tabitha (8/5): Very good -
- Shaheen (4/5): Disappointing - Bad smell in the room. Not recommended
- Mislav (1/5): Bad - When I arrived for the check in, they said that they overbooked and threw me out. They didn't offer any support to find another place just that I have to do it alone.
The location is also very bad and the staff is rude.
- Vitalii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tomasz (9/5): Superb - No problem with late arrival A bit far from the main train station, the old town and the ferry terminal, poor connection
- Vera (3/5): Poor - At least it was clean I paid 58€ for 2 nights and for this price there were even no mugs in the kitchen. Of course no tea/coffee and not a single cafe or even supermarket in around.
- Dhaher (1/5): Bad -
- Viacheslav (8/5): Very good -
- Giovanni (10/5): Exceptional - Perfekt Nothing
- Sugarkhuu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shiwakoti (1/5): Bad - Very creepy place, looks like abandoned warehouse. Zero facilities to buy anything around. Too bad for traveller's, zero hostel vibes, it's the place for last option. I booked for 2 nights but left the place after 1 night.
Had to pay extra 10 euro for tourist tax for 3 days.
Zero recommendations for single ladies..
Met only few workers from neighbouring countries, living almost permanently there.
I can't believe booking.com has this place on the list.
- Laage (7/5): Good - Very friendly host! Great service! Sadly it was not so clean and the toilettsituation was not very comfortable...
- Chikwem (1/5): Bad -
- Ylenia (1/5): Never again - Nothing First, that i had to pay +8 euro for "city taxes" but i think they simply charged me for the commission that booking get from them.
Plus, no toilet paper. No WiFi.
I ended paying almost 40 euro for one night in this hostel . Nowadays hostels have hight standards and are cheaper than this one.
Also, they were doing some work in the infrastructure so it was kind messy.
And to end, when i paid cash with no receipt the city taxes, the crew guy not only forgot to give me the change, infact i have to get back to ask it. He also gave me less money and when i explained it, he simply didn't understand.
- Patrik (7/5): Good -
- Megdoud (10/5): - J'ai beaucoup apprécié le confort et le monsieur de l'accueil est très gentil et serviable
- Aliakbar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Olusola (4/5): Disappointing -
- Linda (4/5): Not really comfortable - It had a weird smell. Couldn’t sleep the first night and woke up with a cold. The room was stuffy. The shower were clogged and so couldn’t bath.
- Kotsiubenko (2/5): Super dirty, uncomfortable, terrible furniture, shower, terrible conditions. - The owner was trying to be nice and friendly Not recommended at all, such an expensive price for such a run down gross cold hostel. The area is quite and empty, i was going there in the evening alone(young girl) and that was a bit creepy.
You have to go through the parking, there is literally nothing around, no supermarkets, no cafes, bars, nothing.
During day time it doesnt look this bad, close to S-bahn, 15 minutes from Warnemünde and the beach.
Now read further and don't make a mistake as i did
DO NOT BOOK!!! Everything is very old, that wouldnt be a huge problem, but everything is not cleaned for hell a lot of time. Hygiene is zero.
Bedsheets didnt smell washed and clean. The carpets and furniture have unidentifiable stains, and it smells throughout the hostel for cigarette smoke. The rooms are cold, lights are not bright.
Showers shine with mold everywhere you look. Broken tiles provide for the color aspect on the feet (risk of injury).
Shower drain was clogged, everything was soapy, covered in dirty foam, remnants of skin and hair from people who had washed there before.
The cabins are unpleasant with wet, soapy shower curtains which seem to be never washed.
Keep in mind that there are no towels, no shower supplies, nothing. So ,yeah shower was terrible and disgucting. I was afraid that im gonna get some diseases there. The toilet was covered in urine.Dirty and smelly kitchen with bugs, 1 non working fridge the other one is sticky, filthy, with old moldy food inside it which stinks, dirty dishes, stove. Everything was oily. Not safe to cook and eat there.
For the second night in Rostock, I spontaneously booked another accommodation. I payed 4€ more and stayed alone in a lovely clean room at Rostock Übernachtung Hostel, which saved my trip and was such a relief after Backpackers Inn.
I find more then 30 euros a night in a shared room quite expensive in general, BUT IN THIS ONE ITS UNBELIEVABLE how this hostel can still be licensed. BOOKING, YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO IT
- Omoro (5/5): Passable - Secluded
- Karim (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything is dirty and the smell was horrible

- Meagan (5/5): Passable -
- Romeo (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly, informal and relaxed environment 😊
- Mp (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francisco (1/5): Bad -
- Ebba (5/5): Passable -
- Wyatt (3/5): Terrible - Staff seem nice The place was dirty, smelled like it hadnt been cleanee in long time. Seemed like it was a place for people who are down and out or recovering...not travellers. I had a homeless person in my room with her dog. Aparently the owner didnt see an issue in putting someone living with a dirty dog in a shared dorm room. I also didnt feel the place was that safe. Avoid this place.
- Abhishek (6/5): Pleasant -
- Greg (5/5): Passable -
- Joel (3/5): An unfortunately overpriced, dirty and drab hostel - The only thing I can say that was good was my sleep and the fact that we had the room to ourselves. Otherwise, we left only with a negative feeling. Pretty much everything, starting with how disorganized the check in process was, and then the fact that in our room, only one bed was actually ready-made for us (two people). The room itself was dirty (we found old bread rolls in the cabinet), and two of the beds were still not stripped after the last guests had left. The toilets and shower rooms were also not very clean, and certainly were in bad condition (shower heads broke, etc). Mostly we were unsatisfied with how much we paid for how terrible of a condition the actual accommodation was in. In my opinion 32€ per person is just not okay. Either it needs to be 10€ or it needs a major cleaning and renovation (and new management!).
- Fredrik (3/5): Bad value for money - Ok common area. Cold shower and worn kitchen.
- Illia (8/5): Very good -
- Fidaa (1/5): Bad -
- Aria (3/5): Poor -
- Lorena (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ali (7/5): For a day or two its okay. considering the cost of other hotels in the area, price for a hostel is reasonable. - Very close to the train station. you could chose to go to Warnemunde or Rostock from there. Staff really didn’t knew much. but our expectations weren’t very high either.
- Eldhose (8/5): Very good -
- Norikazu (7/5): It wasn’t easy to communicate with the staffs there as they all speaks German. The room was clean-but shared space isn’t - It’s good reasonable price in Rostock where the place for holiday. wasn’t so clean.
Even using google map, it’s difficult to find the place. Especially arriving at night.
- Ozgulp (3/5): Sorry but like an horror film :( - The receptionist was friendly The beds were quiet uncomfortable, the rooms were not quiet; there were people around coming in the room and going out, who were not staying in that room, which was extremely weird. The baths were so old and seemed not to be cleaned properly. It was somehow like an horror film.
- Mahmoud (1/5): Bad - Nothing i liked about this property. upon arriving, there was no body to open the reception door nor to lead me to my room. After looking around, a random guy opened the door and it was a schock. Nothing is clean, everything was dirty at the common area and after calling 3 times to ask the lady to check me in, no answer and nothing happened. I roamed around the property and it looked “literary” like an abandoned braces in the middle of no where. then i decided to leave and booked another room in the city. After i left the lady called me and said that she didn’t receive any calls. I requested a refund but she said it was not her problem that i left. Well, this was one of the poorest places i ever seen!
- Sarah (1/5): Bad -
- Bohdan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernardita (8/5): Very good - the staff was very friendly
- Filip (1/5): Terrible would not recommend to anyone. - There was honestly not much to like about this hostel. I travel a lot and this is the only hostel I ever walked out from, it felt less like a hostel but more like a shelter. The overall cleanliness was terrible with clearly visible (and smellable) mould, both in the bathrooms and in the rooms. I left this hostel due to this and feeling unsafe in the facilities
- Sandra (7/5): Ok for one night - Room was ok. Staff on the phone was friendly. Bathroom was clean. Big mirror in the room. Very old fashioned and simple furniture for that price. No staff at reception at 7:30pm but check in by phone call and keypad was possible.
There were no curtains at the windows.
- Aymen (1/5): I do not recommend this hostel for anybody. so that Nobody experiences the same experience - I and my friend checked in for 6 days,I was expecting nice cozy place to have rest at, but later on it appeared to be that the place was under construction and innovation while we were staying there, one day I was enjoying my time at the city center, after which I came late to the hostel quiet exhausted to have a nice sleep, and suddenly at 06:00 am, the constructors started to make noise on the whole hostel while we were asleep!!! It was the worst experience I’ve had in this city, moreover when we wanted to check out the bathroom was also under construction, so we couldn’t even take a proper shower before leave the place.
- Aymen (7/5): Good -
- Martin (7/5): Good - Nice living and dormitory rooms and great kitchen where u can cook for.... Bathrooms isn't so good, whatever place have genius loci.
- Hadi (8/5): Very good -
- Amit (8/5): Very good -
- Hadi (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (4/5): disappointing it was described as having a beer garden which was actually 2 picnic benches at the side of the road - nothing really around the location and you would never associate the actual property with the photographs on site
- Domenico (1/5): Bad -
- Inci (1/5): Disgusting - I like that there is kitchen. You can not lock yourself in the shower; anyone can walk in on you and its terrifying.
Beds are uncomfortable and they stink.
You can not lock any of your bags at some lockers, when you go around the city your mind is occupied whether someone has stolen your bras.
- Dex (7/5): Good -
- Ilaria (8/5): Very good - Nice environment, comfortable rooms and facilities. The check-out was not clearly explained.
- Melissa (1/5): awful unclean - the bed linen was the only thing and the subway close to This is one of the worst hotels I´ve been in. Mould in the bathroom and the wall crumbles, no cleaning of bin and floor during 2 day stay, 1 single toilet for all rooms and that stank terribly like a pissour, no desk lamps if someone come late at night, annoying room mates when it was about packing my stuff at 6am although I did pay and who complain about standing up at 7.30am?! they slept until 10am daily. The kitchen devices and remote player hasn´t been cleaned in years. The owner was never at reception and I had to stay outside in the rain for 10 min to do all the check in mechanically. I really don´t understand why most people leave no comments on such pages, it would have helped me to read it, it helps for the next ones to read.
- Bernadette (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anna (4/5): Disappointing - Had a single room instead of the booked 4 bed mixed room It wasn’t clean - clearly not hoovered and the showers are mouldy! Also there is a club over the street, therefore it was noisy in the night…
- Sophia (7/5): solid option for a cheap price - Beds are comfy, nice kitchen
good connection to center (~20min) the area isn’t very beautiful, bathrooms quite run down
- Kanaan (2/5): Very poor -
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -
- Iona (3/5): Terrible. Disgusting and dirty! Friendly staff when they were around, actual hostel itself was gross - The staff member gave me a solo room and didn't charge which was great however I can't believe how terrible the hostel is. The hostel was disgusting and dirty. The bed I stayed on the first night was springy. People were loud and there was a group of teenagers as 12am making a lot of noise. No staff to be found most of the time.
- Gabriele (7/5): Good -
- Paula (4/5): fine for one night but wouldn’t really wanna stay longer - nice staff, right by the train/tram station not clean, kitchen not the best equipped
