Guest Reviews
- Richard (3/5): Geat party location but not for a good nights sleep - Very vibrant and a great party location, especially for young people. The hotel refunded our stay, see below, without quibble. Had to bail out and go to a Premier Inn because our room was directly above the wedding disco, which made sleep impossible.

- Michelle (10/5): - Made to feel very welcome on check in and given lots of helpful information. The reception area was lovely, clean and smelled fresh. Our room was very nice and much bigger than we expected, so extremely good value for money. Also very modern and clean. The room was quite warm but there were fans around the corridors available to use in the room which we did. Very nice powerful shower in the clean bathroom. In the vening we had a booking in Emporium restaurant just over the road and were informed that if we showed our room card we would receive a 15% discount on our bill which we did so that was a lovely surprise. On leaving we left a phone charger in the room and a staff member called me to inform me which we really appreciated. Nothing to complain about we had a lovely stay and will definitely return.
- Gillian (10/5): -
- Tara (10/5): Lovely and clean - Absolutely great - lovely and clean - friendly receptionist The shower cubicle feel it needed the glass to be at the front as well as the side
- Sam (10/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): Disappointing because of the plumbing. - The staff we spoke to were great and helped as much as they could during our visit. The room was cold as the radiators were not working- although they fixed them on request- they stopped working again. We had no hot water on the last day of our visit- so no possible shower or even a wash. Despite e mails to management since we left, we have had no response
- keith (10/5): Excellent hotel, great location, friendly staff and value for money. - Friendly staff, beautiful bright comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast. Location is great, walked into the centre of Clitheroe.
Great pub, shop, golf, bowling and cinema on the same complex.
We stayed for a wedding which was fantastic. We would recommennd.

- michael (9/5): Bargain priced mid week single night stop over met all expectations :) !! - Super modern yet period themed town centre hotel ,,,next to all the attractions Holmes mill has to offer :) .. plus the whole of Clitheroe is easily walkable from here , including many independent shops & cafes, pubs and castle etc Parking is always a problem at busy times !
- Jenny (10/5): Great stay great day. Clitheroe is lovely - Facilities and location great. Staff very helpful and polite. NA
- Lever (8/5): - Loved the use of a Grade II listed building , restored into a very modern comfortable hotel Can't think of anything
- Karen (6/5): - I like the location and stay here often for work purposes The room I was in was not upto usual standards. There was a red stain on the carpet and a few other bits that fell short of the usual high quality. I was advised that the carpet was due to be renewed and so disappointing that I was allocated the room. I will stay again but hope to have a better experience up to usual standards
- Paul (8/5): Mixed bag as noted above - Impressive conversion of old mill, stylish design. Interesting beer hall next door with many cask ales and original steam engine left in place. Room was very hot-was given fan and windows opened which helped but this is definitely a problem which other guests have also noted. Very noisy wedding disco both nights but at least this stopped at midnight on the dot which was a relief!

- Helen (10/5): Our stay was very pleasant and all the staff very friendly - Clean and comfortable Nothing
- Bernadette (8/5): Worth a stay - The rooms were fresh, clean and comfortable. I would have liked a bottle of water in the room.
- Steven (10/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
- Ellie (10/5): - We were in a bit of a pickle as another hotel that we had booked a stay at closed down leaving us with nowhere to stay 3 hours before attending a wedding. We booked here and the staff were so lovely. Got us everything we needed and gave recommendations for travel to the venue. Room was clean and spacious!
- Emily (9/5): Amazing stay - Had a fantastic time at this hotel celebrating my partner's birthday. The staff were always very friendly and attentive (specifically Suzanne and Silvia who gave us great recommendations for things to do!). The room actually exceeded expectations as they looked better than the photos and we were very cosy. 10/10 for location - footsteps away from the Beer Hall, Everyman Cinema, and the newly opened Bowland Social. We wished we were staying longer! There was a strange drainage smell coming from the toilet in the evening which left a funny smell in the room when we returned, but this was minor. Free parking for hotel guests would be a bonus!
- Christine (8/5): -
- Luke (9/5): -
- Joan (9/5): - Staff very welcoming and helpful. Lovely room but duvet far too heavy for me. Also the arrangement for hanging clothes is very poor - really fancy chest of drawers but no decent clothes hanging facility.
- Tony (9/5): -
- Gary (8/5): -
- Gordon (9/5): Beautiful hotel with good facilities in a very large mill - Characterful hotel in excellent town location; part of a huge beautiful and sensitive mill conversion with restaurants, bars, shops, cinema, unique attractions, and with some lovely period features in the hotel. Very spacious clean comfortable bedrooms and large well-equipped bathrooms. Breakfasts rather disappointing with limited choices and food quality, served in the enormous multi-purpose bar areas (decidedly non-cosy for breakfasts).
Some very small niggles on the rooms: no comfortable (arm)chairs or decent desk; no hooks for towels near washbasin or hooks for coats, dressing gowns etc.
- pam (7/5): - Proximity to the town No air conditioning
- angela (10/5): Lovely place to stay where you get a warm welcome. - Very convenient to come and stay near my parents as we live in south wales. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Comfy rooms. Lovely atmosphere outside. Great you don’t have to go far for a drink as it’s next door. Just love staying here. N/A
- mark (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): Ideal place to stay, handy for all amenities, great choice of refreshment options on-site - Attractive, very clean, well located Noisy road nearby at times
- Michele (8/5): -
- michael (10/5): Bargain price midweek stay ... @ £61 via booking.com with genius discount :) - ,,, lovely central Clitheroe hotel .... within Holmes mill !! clean ... tidy ... tasteful rooms / excellent shower ,, beer hall food was good ... + discount @ Emporium across the road at 15% :) with room card !! Parking can be an issue !
- Donna (10/5): -
- Dave (10/5): Overnight stay was excellent - Room was excellent, Breakfast was very good, Parking was great nothing
- Dean (9/5): -
- Al (9/5): -
- Sean (10/5): Love this place - We have stopped here before , it's a fantastic venue in a great location it keeps evolving and gets better and better, will be booking again when we can The absolutely only issue is how popular this place is and you can't always get in when you want to , and thats it
- Kenneth (8/5): - The location was excellent for visiting the town, castle, bars restaurants etc. We stayed in room 17 lovely, spacious and stylish but there was a background motor noise during the night which disturbed my sleep. Think it may have been the electric sub station below.
- Neil (9/5): Lovely place at a great price. - Great location. Lovely friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Beer hall next door was superb.
- Michael (8/5): - Lovely place Nothing
- Mike (10/5): Really lovely comfy room in a great location close to all local amenities - Great location lively big room
- Simon (8/5): Good accomodation, associated dining area not so good. - Check in was quick and easy, room very well presented and clean. We were alerted that there was an event on the evening and to expect noise, but we didn't really hear anything. The service for breakfast wasn't very good, the staff just didn't seem interested and were wondering about or sitting at the back. We were greeted and seated quickly, but it took over 30 minutes to order and in the end I had to go and ask after around 20 minutes. When our order did arrive not everything ordered was provided.
- michael (9/5): Short stay at a quality town centre hotel , close to all amenities ! - Nice modern / period hotel , located in heart of Clitheroe , parking is at a premium , ,, lovely bathroom with powerful shower ! 15% discount is offered at the sister restaurant Emporium [ over the road ] out of season room rates @ £65 possible booking direct Car parking

- CAROLE (10/5): - Lovely hotel, staff very accommodating. Very clean.
Set in small complex of brewery with good selection of beers and cidres and excellent food.
- Louise (7/5): Great vibes, great breakfast. Needs better sound proofing 🤣 - Holmes Mill is such a lovely place. A really trendy vibe and all in one place. We had coffee in the cafe and a meal in the beer hall. Breakfast was fabulous 😍 I would say the cleanliness could be better. They also advised about an even they had the same night we stayed. It was a wedding so of course you expect a bit of noise. We actually felt like we were at the event. I do think they need to be more honest about the level of noise and vibration. The room shook 🤣 thankfully it was done for 12 but the noise was like nothing I've ever experienced. We could sing along to the songs it was crazy. All in all a lovely place

Atmospheric
Good Breakfast Radiators not warm in room 6 and 7
I believe my guests did mention this
- Samantha (8/5): Nice stay for friends wedding. - Spacious room. Overall very clean. Cleanliness of windows need a clean on the wood part black build up. One lamp didn't work. Loud music noise from coffee shop from around 7. 30am. Parking issue also.
- SHEILA (1/5): ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS STAY….DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL IF THEY HAVE A FUNCTION ON 😡😡😡😡 - Lovely looking hotel They had a function on .. LOUD MUSIC VIBRATING IN OUR ROOM UNTIL 1 am !!!😡😡
Guests chatting and laughing in the corridor doors banging !!! Horrendous horrible night we had . No sleep. REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE IF ATHERE IS A FUNCTION ON !!
Also the Bowland food hall is closed 😳 part of the reason we chose this place. They conveniently didn’t inform us of this when we booked the room ..
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Madaleine (1/5): Wouldn’t recommend. - It’s down right criminal for this property to charge a full price with the noise and vibration from the wedding parties below. They sent an email about the wedding after placing a non refundable booking, they email said there ‘might be some noise’. But you can clearly hear everything and the room shakes. And lying down on the bed you can feel the bed vibrate. Staff on reception were not helpful or polite. Room was partially clean, but marks of dirt. TV didn’t connect properly to internet.
- Lesley Jane (10/5): Just needed some rest and recuperation it was booked only a couple of hours before. - The lady on reception was delightful chatty and professional at the same time not an easy balance and dealt with our requests immediately. Acknowledged the booking request as part of checking in and then immediately took me to find a more suitable bedroom chair for my husband. The position in the room of the TV was weird it was tucked into the corner. The accessible bathroom was brilliant so well thought out but the door from the bedroom should have opened into the bathroom giving more room round the bottom of the bed.
- Brendon (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Christine (10/5): Lovely - Everthing
- Ian (7/5): - Lovely place!
