Guest Reviews
- 676rebekahw (10/5): Relaxation, activities, delicious food and drinks, and impeccable service! - Oh my goodness! What an incredible little get-a-way this past weekend. Gorgeous pool overlooking a lake, kayaking and paddle boarding on a nearby lake with everything included, and impeccable service! Ms. Kim at the pool bar truly made us feel like family. The chef created delicious, flavorful food! And Daisy and Amanda took care of everything we needed and then some. Their customer service was top notch! Whether you’re looking for a romantic get-a-way, family bonding time, or corporate team building, I highly recommend Fox Hall Resort. I loved it so much that my sister and I already booked another weekend in August!
- Halie (8/5): - Overall very nice. The scenery is beautiful and lots of outdoor activities.
There are a lot of birds that try to come on the porch. They do their best to keep the birds away. they have spikes at the top to keep them from landing. But the porch and porch furniture had bird poop all over it, so we did not sit out on the porch like we would have wanted to do. They could have at least cleaned the furniture and the porch floor between guests.
Just an FYI. The villas are not toddler friendly. The front door opens very easily and there is no option to deadbolt it from the inside. My 1 and a half year old could easily push open the door and run out. And she is not able to open regular doors. This is the only door she has ever been able to open. Also the villas have stairs inside and the bedrooms are upstairs. Just an FYI for those traveling with young kids. Would recommend bringing a baby gate.
Would also have liked better breakfast options. There is only a little gift shop market open with only 1 worker. They make breakfast sandwiches. But It took us an hour to get breakfast to go. Was not the workers fault she was working very hard.
- Stanley (10/5): - We were there for wedding!!!
- Inspire541842 (10/5): ATV Riding - Had a blast riding the ATV, the guide was super cool and I will be back to enjoy the brunch and the resort . What would be nice if they offered horse back riding they have the acreage. Will be booking for a staycation at the resort soon and I will give update .
- terrellc718 (10/5): Memorable & Enjoyable - The entire staff (that I interacted with) was welcoming and willing to be of assistance. Our coach for the day was Jessy and she brought energy, positive reinforcement & effective direction which permitted us to really enjoy the experience.
- KKTurks (10/5): A Hidden Gem Near Atlanta - This resort is a hidden gem. I’ve been a frequent visitor (over twelve stays) to Foxhall due to local business requirements. The time spent away from home is often stressful. Luckily, I found this resort. The team here is EXCELLENT! They do all that they can to create a safe, comfortable and relaxing experience. The little touches mean the most. The ladies in housekeeping will leave extra sheets at check in because they know I like them. They place special scented toiletries that do wonders to help me relax. Jackie makes sure that my check in and out is quick, correct and seamless. Manager Amanda makes the effort to ensure that the property is well run and guests are happy. Whenever there was an issue, the gentlemen on staff quickly came to make changes. These are signs of a staff that cares about their guests. The customer service is unmatched. Of course, the other major plus is that the resort is GORGEOUS! I feel like I’m in prime horse country whenever I pull into the gates. The lake is filled with an abundance of fish. You can truly have a great time fishing, shooting and utv riding or hiking along trails. If you’re looking for a nice place for a quiet and beautiful stay yet near a major city, I highly recommend Foxhall!
- lukemS3172OB (6/5): Beautiful But Way Overpriced For The Service - Foxhall Resort provided a beautiful lodging grounds for our wedding weekend, with ample entertainment for our guests. We appreciated the early check-in and late checkout, which added convenience to our stay. However, we found the room prices to be quite high, especially given the lack of certain amenities like turndown service and personalized touches in our room, which we expected for such a significant occasion.
The service during our rehearsal dinner was less than satisfactory. Despite clear communication about meal preferences, there were mix-ups that resulted in adult guests receiving kids' meals and significant delays in service, including serving the bride last, for some reason. Additionally, the dessert service was confusing, with servers unsure about the options being offered. The tiramisu was served frozen, which was disappointing considering the cost.
Lastly, the payment process was frustrating; we received incorrect invoices multiple times and faced unexpected charges during checkout, leading to a lengthy resolution time at the front desk.
Overall, while we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the efforts of the staff, but improvements in communication and service quality are needed to match the resort's pricing. With some adjustments, Foxhall could truly enhance its guest experience and be an awesome experience, it just isn't there yet.
- H2612TEcarolineb (2/5): Terrible Experience - I can not say enough terrible things about this resort and their lack of customer service. After a long day of traveling, I arrived at the resort from the airport at 2 a.m., only to find that there was no one available to check me in. I was unable to access my room and the check-in details were unclear and misleading. All that their website check-in information stated was, "Check-in after 4 p.m." The information provided regarding check-in was extremely vague, and I was not made aware that there would be no staff available after a certain time. I attempted to contact the after-hours number listed on a sign at the door multiple times via both calls and text messages but received no response. Furthermore, the sign itself was poorly displayed, with the second contact number partially obstructed, making it impossible to read the last 2 digits of the second contact number. I also left a voicemail on the main resort line, but I never received a return call or any communication from their team regarding the issue. This experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, leaving me without a place to stay for the night in a somewhat rural part of town. I have emailed requesting a refund along with a follow-up email and have not received a response for two days.

- Michael (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. This is our third time staying at Fox Hall. We celebrated our wedding anniversary. This is our favorite staycation. Thank you Amanda and Niki for such excellent customer service. We appreciate you both. If you are in need of relaxation and self-care, this is the place. We will definitely return.....
- gretaw785 (2/5): PLANNING AN EVENT OR A WEDDING? AVOID FOXHALL AT ALL COSTS!!! - This has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life and I have never felt so disrespected. Wedding planning is stressful enough as it is - don't make the same mistake my fiancé and I did by letting Foxhall add to it.
We visited Foxhall during their wedding open house on Sunday, 5/19/24. We were looking for a space to have welcome drinks, a rehearsal dinner, and a room block for our guests, as our wedding venue was just down the road. Foxhall seemed like the perfect option. Everything was great at first. The property is beautiful and the rooms were super nice and they treated us really well at the open house. They told us at the open house that we could reserve as many rooms for our guests in a room block as we wanted - as long as we were having an event there. We would just have to let them know 90 days before our event which rooms we wanted to drop from the room block and any rooms we didn't drop we would be financially responsible for. This sounded good to us, so after reviewing everything with our wedding planner, we let them know we were ready to proceed in an email on 5/23/24.
They immediately get back to us with an agreement and did confirm in the email "We do have an attrition clause, however you have 90 days prior to guests arrival to release the unreserved lodging back into Open Inventory without penalty". Our wedding planner goes back and forth with them on some other things in the agreement and on 6/19/24 we are ready to proceed. When they send the official contract for signature on 7/6/24, it is completely different than what we were originally promised. There is now an attrition clause that says we are financially responsible for any rooms we do not book - there is no option to release rooms without penalty. We discuss with our wedding planner and she is confused as well - this has never been their policy and she has planned multiple weddings and events with them. She reaches out and hears back - they have suddenly changed their policy and they are not going to honor their original commitment.
We are disappointed that they are not honoring their word, but we have already invested so much time in the process - tons of emails back and forth for months, multiple site visits, and even having my mom make a special trip from Savannah to visit the space. After even more back and forth, we email them on 7/28/24 to let them know that we would like to proceed and we edit the room block to be a lot more conservative, since we are now financially responsible for any rooms that aren't booked. They reply back later that day and say they will send over the revised agreement. We hear back on 7/30/24 that they are waiting on the regional sales director for approval. We then receive a phone call that they are not comfortable with how many rooms we are reserving - they don't think we will use them all. We are super confused, as our room block is super conservative and we are also now financially responsible if the rooms aren't used up, so we aren't sure what the problem is. There is no financial risk to Foxhall. We hang up the phone and they say they will need to discuss more internally and get back to us.
After following up with them over and over again via email and phone with no reply, they finally got back to us on 8/12/24, and told us they are not comfortable letting us reserve all of the rooms we requested - they want to remove some of them from our block. There is no reason provided. We even offered to pay for the rooms up front and they still said no.
At this point, we no longer feel comfortable doing business with Foxhall. We have no idea why we are being treated this way and we feel so unwelcomed. They have been extremely disrespectful to our time, with nearly 3 months wasted on this process. PLEASE do not make the same mistakes as we did. This has been a major headache for us and for our wedding planner - we will be steering our friends away from them and I'm sure she will not be recommending them to any future clients.
- kespinosa216 (10/5): Beautiful Property, Incredible Experience - I cannot say enough about how gorgeous Foxhall Resort is. From the decor to the grounds, it is remarkable how beautiful the entire space is.
The room was clean, comfortable and modern. We will be returning time and time again!
- Krystal (10/5): - The only issue I have is there was no microwave in the rooms and you have to go to the front office and that microwave was really small so if it’s late night you have to get in your vehicle and basically drive up front.
- Michelle (6/5): - I would like to start with the positive. The staff (especially Gabriel and Amanda) were absolutely amazing. They were very accommodating and pleasant. The rooms and grounds were very clean.
The place for improvement was the lack of staff. We weren't able to do several activities because staff was not available. Also, when I hear the word "resort," I imagine not having to leave the premises unless I want to. Well, we had to leave the premises to go get breakfast (a 25-minute drive) because full breakfast is not available on Friday or Saturday. We also had to order Uber Eats for dinner because the dinner menu was very limited.
Also, we had three bedrooms, which do not include a table or chairs to sit and dine, play board games, etc. I would recommend updating the website so guests are fully aware of what to expect upon arrival.
Lastly, I would return again, but now I know what to expect. Foxhall has great potential, and I am looking forward to returning in the future.
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place for a family trip!
- feleeali (6/5): Not worth the money - For the price, I definitely expected more upscale. Rooms could use a microwave since a fridge is in the rooms. Sheets were dirty and when reported had to wait until next morning for clean sheets which made no sense for all the money spent. Property very dark at night which is dangerous.
- 491tahitiant (4/5): The worst birthday ever - I was so disappointed in my stay. I was told we had access to horse back riding, golfing, atvs. Well none of this was available due to shortage of staff. I was celebrating my birthday and we had to go else where to ride atvs and to eat. My room had no microwave, the stores were closed at the resort. We were under the impression we had stuff available on the resort and nothing was. Food nor the amenities. I told the manager when I checked out and she told me to email her she would send us a complimentary night. Well I email her and has not gotten a response nor call. Amcelrath@foxhallresort.com
- Scott (4/5): - For the price charged the property was a 5 star for views the staff a low 2. The accommodations were subpar with barely any soaps, shampoos or coffee in room. And when asked about these the answers should have been what room and we will get these things handled, instead it was come back up front and we can hand you some more?
Weather was gorgeous and the staff should’ve had large nightly fires lit by polo grounds for guests to enjoy but they didn’t
- codywY2850JJ (10/5): Gorgeous property - Beautiful rustic/scenic property. Will be interesting to see how it develops as they continue to work on it.
Good place for our team outing- would love to get team out on some of the ground’s activities next time.
- cynthia (8/5): Would come back in the Summer - The stay was okay, the shower handle was weird, and I could not figure out how to turn on the hot water. If we were staying another day I would have reported it broken.
Looks like the resort could be a lot of fun in the summer. I would recommend it for a wedding party for sure.
- B211KNkenp (6/5): Beautiful resort property of 1100 acres - buildings and restaurants are so so - Foxhall Resort is 1100 acres of beautiful country side with several activities you can do. We arrived on Friday about 3:40 and was allowed to check in but not receive our key to the villa. They said they couldn’t provide that until 4 pm at checkin time. So we sat in the car and waited that 20 minutes and then was able to get the key. The front desk staff was not what we expected for such a lovely resort. The lady that appeared to be the manager was not very friendly and in fact so what snappy… I was able to set up activities prior to our arrival. We were just a couple and didn’t need a 2 bedroom villa but it was nice and thought nothing of it. Until we received a text saying we needed to pay the resort fee. Which was $20 per day per bed. So we had to pay for beds we didn’t need or request. The next surprise we had was with the market. They advertise hours of like 8 am until 10 pm. But then learned the food was only from 8 to 3 pm and then that the food was very limited and not what was advertised on their website. It was very limited! We did eat something at the market and it was so so the following day , the service and food at the Pheasant Blue was below average from what we expected. I will leave reviews in them for specifics. The beauty of the resort and the land helped our stay and why I am leaving a 4 star review. The lady that took us skeet shooting was wonderful and the guy who took us on the UTV ride was exceptional!
- Voyager402472 (10/5): Warm and welcoming, like home only better! - Kim W in the Flying Fox Market made our mornings so special. She is delightful! She works hard to ensure her guests feel welcome. The property is gorgeous, taking advantage of the natural beauty of the area, but it's the staff that brings it all to life.
- Meander33915625356 (10/5): Great service at the market ! - Kim W was so lovely, she made some delicious sandwiches and was quick and efficient. She handled multiple orders with ease and speed, and had such a welcoming attitude. Go see Kim at the Flying Fox market!
- 640michaelv (8/5): Typical Resort - I was here for a staff retreat. This facility is off the beaten path. It is located on several acres. The front desk staff here needs customer service training - especially for the prices being charged. There is no sense of urgency on any level. The guestrooms are large - loved the shower. The hot water was slow
in coming out of the sink and shower. Liked the wood floors in the rooms. You can also park close to your room. They are adding on additional guestrooms. The area is beautiful - out in nature. I liked the restaurant and gift shop areas. This is a great venue for a wedding. The TV offered alot of channels. I found trash in the drawers in my room. They had a bath mat hanging up as a hand towel. They need to focus in on what a resort is and should be ... continued success.
- M1702KQhannahd (2/5): Save your money - I would HIGHLY suggest spending your money elsewhere! They like to charge people for smoking in rooms that don't even smoke!! And then the manager never calls you back! The fine is $250! We have been coming here for years and unfortunately each time it seems to get a little less luxurious. They no longer offer canoes! That was the main reason we booked here for this stay! The kayaks that are provided are dented. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a kid pool or a hot tub but either way it was absolutely filthy! I refused to get in! The condo in front of us had trash stacked up in front of the door the whole weekend! There's a cat that was on the grounds last time we visited that has now had kittens, and I'm not sure if anyone is taking care of them! The kitchen is closed on Sunday nights and they have NO microwaves in the room, which made it really hard to figure out dinner considering there's nothing close by that doesn't require reservations way in advance! I think this will be the last time we visit this place! Which really breaks my heart because the times in the past, like last year and the year before were amazing! I guess all good things do come to an end. I could have stayed somewhere in Atlanta for this price and actually had a luxurious experience!
- danna2151 (6/5): Poor housekeeping and initial cleanliness. - Beautiful lake view but unable to enjoy because of the filthy deck. There was an enormous amount of bird poop and there were spider webs all over. The moment we open the sliding doors we were met with a face of spider webs. It was horrible.
- rophillips2 (10/5): Wonder Time at Foxhall - Had a great time at the resort. rode the ATV, hung out at the pool and was even able to get some some fishing in there. The staff is friendly and the resort is beautiful. You will have a good time and leave relaxed.
- richardwJ8134GV (2/5): Unfortunate Experience - The resort was lovely, what we saw of it. had a specific reservation and our room was given away. We have 2 dogs so this was a problem.. Receptionist on duty, 07/29/23, Approx. 2:00, was dismissive and rude. Just can't support this kind of customer service. We asked for a refund and received. It was my birthday getaway so terribly disappointing.
- andreacH2164MX (10/5): Relaxing at the Foxhall Resort in Douglasville - Who knew of this gem right in Douglasville? My husband, son and I decided to get away for my b-day. What a pleasant surprise when our experience got elected to one of their 2 bed-r Villas. It was beautiful, so relaxing overlooking the lake. The staff were so nice and accommodating. Made us feel welcome. I will definitely be going back.
- Jeremiah (10/5): - So many things to do!
- S2870FLlindam (10/5): Hidden little gem - We did a Momcation there and was greeted kindly from the staff. We absolutely adored Kensey our waiter/bartender. She customized a drink for me and it was delicious! The food was so good. The room clean and comfy with a great view of the lake. Amanda was on top of it when it came to us checking out. We will be back!
- Gabrielle (10/5): Foxhall Resort - Beautiful resort with lots to do. Was there for a wedding and it was a beautiful venue. Very fun! Restaurant had great food and the market had really good coffee! Front desk attendant Micki was the height of my stay. She assisted me in a little issue I had upon checking in and was adamant on making sure everything went well for me. She said she was the supervisor but she deserves a raise!!!
- Jill (10/5): - Such a relaxing stay with so much to do. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing!!
- HESHAM (10/5): - EVERYTHING IS OUTSTANDIN
- Reese (4/5): - View of lake
- Britt (8/5): Lake house feel - Neat place to stay.
- Shemika (8/5): - Liked the quietness didn't like how we had to check in at 4 and all the activities stopped at 4:30 but will definitely come again and soon!
- Theresa (6/5): - All the beautiful water lakes , ponds and river. On Sunday you should be able to access all activities & amenities.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We stayed at Foxhall because we were in town for a wedding at the resort. Check in was at 4. Exactly 4 - no earlier. The wedding started at 5, so we sat outside by the pool for 5 hours waiting for check in. The pool looked nice, but since I only had an hour to get ready for the wedding I didn’t want to get wet. Our room was nice (Lakeside King). One of our friends rooms didn’t have working AC so he was moved to another room that was significantly smaller and no refund was offered. The service was lacking at this facility. Gorgeous area with a lot of potential, but the service caused some headaches.
- Almanzia (10/5): Nice retreat near Georgia - Nice getaway from Atlanta. We took advantage of the long nature walks along the Chattahoochee River. We stayed in a villa which was nice, but had some minor maintenance issues which were a little distracting given the $400+ pee night price tag. For example, the toilets were running and the sliding door didn't latch securely. During COVID-19 the restaurant hours and menus were limited but we enjoyed everything we ordered. Sitting by the fire pit was fun with friendly visitors and locals alike. If you don't like the sounds of shotguns, you might not be a fan. We couldn't hear it inside our villa but outside you could hear constant shooting.
- KJohn (8/5): - Property was quiet, organized and clean.
If you rent a villa bring a toaster or hot plate if you want to cook. There is a microwave available to warm food.
- Samira (2/5): - Everything was closed, restaurant and activities. It was only 5 people in the whole resort, hardly no staff, the maintenance guy was the after hours concierge because they do not have staff. The rooms are beautiful but the resort is dead they should not be open for business right now. I am so happy that I only booked one night, the only thing the resort was missing was Zombies, I whole vibe and energy felt like the world ended and we was the only ones on the planet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice property, limited food options - Very nice setting and nicely appointed rooms. The roads on the property were in poor condition and we had some trouble with the heating and air conditioning not functioning. Also, rather a secluded setting with few nearby (especially on-campus) food options. Better bring your breakfast because the onsite restaurant opens 11:30.
