Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): Business trip - Clean room, good breakfast
- Martin (8/5): - .
- Fraser (8/5): - Convenient overnight stay
- Sharon (10/5): - Rooms are clean, WiFi is good breakfast is good i like staying there.
- Naomi (8/5): - Gym, swim and sauna access are always a plus to stay here.
- Narinder (6/5): Dodgy Housekeeping - I left the dirty towels on the bathroom floor to be replaced. Housekeeping just picked them up and put them back on the railing without replacing them with new towels.
- Richard (10/5): - Room was small but modern and very clean. Very reasonable price and an excellent breakfast. The surroundings are very pleasant. The corridors are quite long as it is a large facility.
- sean (8/5): Good but not great - Pool was closed wi fi sketchy
Breakfast was warm at best
- Sharon (8/5): - I didn't go into the gym or swimming pool so i can't comment on them, everything was good about the room the breakfast the only thing was the doors slamming and people talking in the corridor all times of the night
- Michael (10/5): - I stayed one night after a concert in the area. It was perfect for my requirements. Close to the M1, plenty of parking which was included in the price. I slept well, the shower was powerful, breakfast was fine.
- rebecca (8/5): - Lovely friendly staff
- John (8/5): Excellent value. - This is a good value place to stay a couple of nights. Nice and clean everywhere. The communal lounge areas and dining room were decent. Breakfast was good and dinner at £22 was also good. Plenty of free parking.
- Charlotte (8/5): - Really great location for the
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The room was very clean and kept that way the 4 nights we were there. All staff we met were friendly and polite. If i am anywhere near here again it will be my hotel of choice
- Stephen (10/5): - Great quiet area not too far from a Retail park. Not too far for Silverstone Circuit and motorway. Great breakfast friendly staff. Clean room very quiet.
- Paul H. (6/5): - Overall a pleasant stay. The room was rather small and obviously not designed for a double bed. We couldn’t open one of the windows. The evening meal was rather bland but perfectly acceptable and certainly good value. Swimming pool was good. Total lack of guest information, eg, facilities, menu and prices was not helpful. Even the web page is lacking essential information. That said, small niggles because on the whole eve thing was pretty good and reasonably priced. We would be happy to return when we visit family in Newport Pagnell again.
- Michael (8/5): - Fitted what I needed for one night's stay
- claire (4/5): Avoid if you have any mobility issues - No clear signage to direct you to where main reception is, car park is a maze.
Receptionist told us directions to the furthest part of the hotel, bear in mind I’m physically disabled, at no point did she explain we could have driven round or where the lifts are.
Speaking of lifts they are only on 2 sides of the building, which goes in a circle, every time we came out of our room we had to go through 5 doors just to get to the lift, none of which opened automatically or stayed open to allow access.
- Kurt (6/5): Below average hotel - The check in was incredibly slow.
The bathroom was dirty.
The tuck shop at reception was missing half the items on the menu.
The breakfast in the morning was slow and when they ran out of hash browns and I asked if there would be more, the server just shrugged at me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room, comfy beds, great facilities.
- Arturs (8/5): - Good room. Nice breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed reviews - We paid well over the odds for the room. £247 for one night is ridiculous and is just greed.
Room was clean and tidy, breakfast was good.
One bath towel for two guests not great, rooms are quite dated.
Overall, would stay again but definitely not worth the price we paid.
- Jamie (6/5): - Wasn’t told that the swimming pool was for over 16s only even if accompanied by an adult. Wasn’t told this even though my 9 year old is clearly under 16. Otherwise
- Michael (10/5): - Initial room was unsuitable for our needs, as booked, but thanks to Natalia whose professional outlook actually found a suitable room, our stay was enjoyable although breakfast prices were beyond our budget so we ate offsite . The only thing was was missing in our room was an information booklet regarding site facilities, menus, local amenities etc. and more importantly tv instructions.
- Mina (2/5): - Rooms too small and dated, room key system dated and noisy. No air conditioning in any rooms, and window hardly opened, it was very stuffy. And no air conditioning throughout any building including dining room.
Rooms too far and dark with lack of lifts available.
Staff not helpful, did not guide us to our room.
Breakfast lack of working areas, ie tea and coffee machines, too long queues and food choices not great. Ran out of food and told will take 15 minutes before food was available again.
- Eddy (8/5): - The bath and high shower head fixed, need to replace for walk in shower cubicle for us seniors who find it difficult to get in the bath with no rails to hold onto
- Elisabeth (6/5): - Very basic . No air conditioning, no second key given. No flexibility in changing room.
- Simon (8/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic, but clean. Large bathroom with bath and good shower. Room was cleaned well each morning. Some drawers had dust and hair when we arrived.
Plenty of options for breakfast.
Carpet in hallway near room had strong smell of damp.
Would have been nice if the health centre stayed open longer than 8pm on Saturday.
- Valerie (6/5): - Basic but clean. Breakfast was very good. No air-con and window only opened a little.
Only overhead shower in bath so impossible to shower without wetting hair. (No shower caps)
- Julie (10/5): - Stayed here whilst at F1 it’s just within our limit for travel after a day at the track and to get there in the mornings. Really helpful courteous staff - one guy - Adi was really happy to assist when we ate there one evening and again the next morning at breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms quite small just enough room to lay suitcase down to open.
Free breakfast was incredibly bland, eggs were terrible.
No information in room about onsite services. No iron in rooms, hard wired in utility room downstairs - very difficult when there is nowhere to hang clothes in utility room once ironed.
Biggest issue was noise in rooms, could hear everything and made for a very disturbed sleep.
Ample onsite parking.
Location good if you have a car as out of the city centre.
- Lee (2/5): Very poor hotel... - The hotel was cheap so i didn't expect much but the bath was full of long black hairs, when i told reception they laughed and said they would tell housekeeping, no apology. The food was and expensive buffet which was below average. Never anyone on the bar and took ages to get staff to come and serve. All staff were foreign which is fine if they speak good English but they didn't. Pool only opened at 6.30pm so missed this as went for my meal. I would not stay at this hotel again.
- Masimba (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay and will come back!
- Emily (8/5): - Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Not very sound proof rooms, could hear people coming back to their rooms later, but was not a big issue. Would stay again if visiting Milton Keynes.
- Barry (2/5): - Manager is arrogant and rude - demands extra payment or can’t check in. Worst experience ever. Manager should be fired !!!
- Naomi (8/5): - Convenient easy access to gymn pool and sauna is this property’s biggest attraction, as they are included in the room fees. Rooms are clean. However some things need upgrading, for example non slip bath mats are old and should be replaced as they are still a hazard. Guests should be offered in/ room herbal varieties alongside coffee and tea in the rooms. Staff are in the main approachable and the grounds are well kept,
- Danielle (6/5): It was ok - Was an ok stay, room smelt very damp and could hear every noise every other guest made.
Went up to the bar and had to ring a bell for the barman as he was running both the restaurant and bar. He was lovely though just not want you want when paying top £ for a drink.
Wanted to play pool but no pool balls or cues anywhere to be found even though we inserted a pound. They were extremely under staffed for the amount of people on site. Every table had glasses or coffee mugs on them.
- MOSES (2/5): - Property firty and smelly.Looked like a hospital.
- Richard (8/5): MK Short-Trip - Good, reasonably-priced base for visiting Milton Keynes.
- Charlotte (4/5): University Halls vibes - A large place with ample parking, as long as you enter your reg.
Appreciate it's mainly a conference/events/training centre but please don't expect a hotel.
I only ended up staying 1 night of a 3 night stay and that was enough.
I wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price paid but the place is difficult to navigate, the rooms are tiny and very dated, it's gives University Halls vibes, the bathrooms desperately need upgrading, very little in terms of noise protection. I note the restaurant has been upgraded but no mention of menus to be found in room, wasn't advised of serving times etc, I'm not even sure if dinner is a plated service as only saw buffet set up so I didn't bother eating.
Very much appreciate the room rate was reasonable and certainly didn't expect 4* for the price paid but it just feels sad.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mid range - The room was a bit smaller than expected. There was only one bedside table and the lamp switch was located at the wall plug behind the mattress, really inconvenient. There wasnt enough pillows provided, toilet paper, tea, coffee and milk were all too little for 2 people. The reception on the tv was terrible. That said the bed was comfortable and the shower good. Breakfast staff really friendly and helpful.
- Dan (8/5): - Good
- david (10/5): - All the staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make you stay feel good.
The room I stayed in was good but could be ready for a refresh
- Errol (8/5): - My stay was one of the best so far in Milton Keynes
- Kylie (10/5): - A great choice while visiting family with my 6yr old. There’s everything you need, in a lovely quiet setting. Great green spaces to relax in and plenty of parking around the whole centre. The room could do with a little updating, but other than that, no complaints at all! The staff were friendly and approachable.
- Abimbola (6/5): - It was okay, but not great.
- russell (8/5): - Room excellent however you turn up it doesnt say hotel or rooms this way it looks like an office block.
Then parking out front only 30 mins reception does not say there are 300 spaces but you cant park there or check to make sure your not parked in 30 area just incase.
what made up for it is was the superior room excellent the grounds are lovely the usual milton keynes lots of trees i will definately stay again now i know its a hotel how the parking works and really nice spacious room
- Chris (8/5): Two nights stay - The bedroom lights were poor. A choice between 2 very bright lights (impossible to have just one on) or one very dim light. A bedside lamp would solve the problem.
In the restaurant some cooked food items were cool.
- Julie (6/5): - Room was good had everything we needed battery missing from remote staff brought replacement straight away when we was getting ready another guest had been given the wrong key and they opened our door and was about to come in until we shouted out to them hard to find room as its a few hotels in one not very good sign posted so took 3 attempts to get correct door to enter
- Jason (10/5): - Great location for our needs and a lovely breakfast
- Heather (10/5): - Wonderful, welcoming staff. Clean, pleasant rooms. Great breakfast and good bar. Will definitely stay there again.
- Ann (10/5): - Nice breakfast
- Thomas (10/5): MK prime accommodation - Great place to stay. Lovely comfortable room and bed.
Fabulous breakfast in a great location. Highly recommend
- Jean s (10/5): Lovely stay. - Lovely stay.
- marcel (8/5): - very good
- GREIG (4/5): - there was poo marks on my toilet and hair all over the sink when i got in my room, bed was also very uncomfy and it smelled terrible in the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good venue to access conference - Had a conference for the weekend and it was ideal to stay at the same place. The lunch options were good.
The buildings/rooms are a little dated, and given the reason for my stay were fine. I wouldn't book to stay for a relaxing weekend where I'd be making more use of the room
- Ron (8/5): - Price very reasonable. Staff friendly and helpful. Walls of rooms a bit thin, as you can hear next door in the loo and shower, plus people walking past your room.
Breakfast included and very good.
Free parking.
Would we stay again, yes :)
- Belinda (8/5): - hard to find
Sadly the males that had rooms near by woke me up around 1am with shouting and slamming there doors
Found breakfast a tad pricey for what we got
- Stephen (10/5): - Everything was great, breakfast great, room great, clean and quiet. Cannot fault and staying again in August.
- Hannah (4/5): - Room was fine, not great but fine. Real disappointment was not being able to use the leisure facilities with an under 16 year old! We would have definitely booked elsewhere
- Alex (6/5): - Happy with the venue, convenient, and loved the sauna/pool facilities.
- Ian (8/5): - Quiet area, friendly and helpful staff and good value for money.
- marcel (10/5): - Very good hotel good sized rooms good breakfast, quite better then the average hotel at this price
- Suzanne (4/5): - Unclear when we arrived if we were in the right place, and finding the carpark wasn't straightforward due to lack of signage.Had to wait ages at reception to check in and. No area to sit. Once checked in, the directions to our room was poor, we found the right building but couldn't find the stairs to get to the room. Window in room didn'topen and no maintenance staff were working until the morning, so we were reroomed which was the only good thing they did. No information in room about the accomodation. Wanted to know hours of the bar and health club which we were hoping to use. Overall a lack of explanation about the accomodation and signage just made for an unnecessarily stressful experience
- Helena (8/5): - Spotless room that had everything I needed and the free parking is great. Staff members were very helpful. Only downside - paper thin walls so you can hear everything.
- Margaret (10/5): - Great stay as always
- Verified traveler (2/5): A very bad nightmare - We were initially given a room that was a long walk to the other side of the front entrance. We were then required to walk up a flight of stairs. Carpets in corridors were very musky, with bad smell. The room that we were given was in another building up a flight of stairs then further 5 mins walk. Unfortunately, bed was not made in this room so we walked back to reception and they told us that there are no other rooms available. It was about 21hoo at this time after a long day at work. We went out for 20 mins. On our return, we were offered another room closer to the front building which was only 5 minutes walk. This room had 2 twin beds. One bed was definitely used with unclean sheets. The basin had algae and dirt on it. Toilet was unclean. There was little toilet paper. My husband and myself were upset that we curled up into one single bed as we had a very long day. There was no heating in this room!
- Helen (4/5): Cheap but not cheerful - The bed sheets were not clean - they had marks all over them. The bath was dirty also.
- Grzegorz (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Robert (6/5): Training centre not a hotel. - This place is more of a training centre than a hotel.
All areas were clean. Food was very limited only one option was told they normally have 3 buthad sold out 30 minutes after opening.
Swimming pool area need to take towls from the room and your own padlock for lockers.
- James (10/5): - I’m a regular. Only comment might be shower has been cold if taken late evening.
- Paul (10/5): What a great place! - What a great place this is! It's a little on the institutional side but therein lies it's success. The other residents were teachers on courses and other corporate residents staying in Milton Keynes temporarily. Great atmosphere, great bar and a great breakfast. Nice big, clean room and very friendly staff.
- Bashar (6/5): - While very convenient conference facilities and located across the road from The Open University, the accommodation is tired and in need of maintenance/refresh. I used to stay regularly so I tried it again after a 2 year absence , but it was not a pleasant stay... TV didn't work, bathroom sink not clean, tea/coffee old and didn't look clean, and mattress too soft/old, carpet worn out/dirty.. I'll not return until I hear and see that seems update/maintenance has been done...
- Stephanie (8/5): - Lovely clean hotel. Great breakfast! So many options. Very helpful and polite staff. Only downside is a very large resort with no elevators so if you have a lot of luggage/baby equipment maybe request ground floor
- Eddy (8/5): - Its a good environment, good location,
- Benjamin (8/5): - Just there to sleep. Comfy bed and friendly staff.
- Brenda (2/5): - I booked a room for my mother she never got to the hotel as she had a fall and is currently in hospital i rang the hotel and expedia to see if i could get the money refunded and i was treated like i was a bit of garbage by both companies
- Michael (10/5): - Will be coming back soon hopefully
- Lewis (2/5): So inflexible and unwilling to help - Booked the no refund rooms, and had to change our plans due to a sick kid.
Were unwilling to refund the extra breakfasts we booked. Generally just unwilling to help or find solutions.
- Madissar (10/5): Convenient, clean and great Breakfast - Great hotel and friendly staff. I want to thank particularly the chef. At breakfast he offered halal chicken sausages using his own initiative. He was a black guy and would specifically say thank you to him. It was very kind gesture.
Will definitely be staying again in the near
future.
- Ian (10/5): Weekend stay - I have stayed at Kents Hill several times. It offers good clean comfortable accommodation at very reasonable prices. On this occasion I noticed that the tv in the room had been updated which was a very nice touch and tbh a huge improvement. On site parking is plentiful. Everything that you need for a weekend stay in Milton Keynes. Highly recommended.
- Mark (8/5): Functional Stay - It's not great, but it's not expensive!
I have stayed here a few times now and although its not the best hotel in the area it regularly comes out cheaper than other local ones. Pair that with the good amentities - gym next door, free parking, free wifi and free breakfast I can overlook that the rooms need modernising.
It was bloody cold in my room this time though!
- Duncan (10/5): Hidden gem whilst working away from home - Unbelievably priced for the fantastic service i received.
All the staff were so friendly and very helpful
Large free secure parking
Food was great
Bed was super comfy
And the added bonus that i could use the gym, pool and steam room was perfect to end the day on.
- Ruth (8/5): - The room is big and clean. Tv is Mordern and the staff were nice
- Margaret (10/5): - Love this place. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Good breakfast. Rooms comfy
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay good service. - Enjoyed my stay it’s basic but the service was great. The leisure centre was decent. I don’t rate the food options much though.
- Margaret (10/5): - Lovely staff. Lovely hotel. Bit if a maze so take note where your room is as i got lost. But other than that no issues. Definitely stay again
- martin (10/5): Family night stay - Good clean accommodation.
Staff friendly and tentative to our requirements.
Canteen & bar area all looks freshly decorated.
Rooms in the other hand clean and tidy but in need of refurbishment, carpets heavily stained, double bed is two single mattresses together so uncomfortable unless used as single (defeats the object of a double bed).
Plenty of parking.
On site gym and swimming pool
- Tina (6/5): - Quite odd hotel. Felt we were sleeping over in an office building. The room was missing normal hotel features such as bedside lamps and usb plugs. The bedsheet did not cover the mattress fully and there was a gap under the door so when the hallway lights were turned on at 6am the light shone through into the room. Also the room was close to their laundry room containing three industrial washing mashines. These machines was turned on at 6 as well and was incredibly noisy. The hot breakfast was cold.
- Ian (10/5): MK visit - This was great value for money.
Check in was smooth, plenty of parking and friendly staff.
Comfy bed, hot shower and a wide range of food offered at breakfast.
A car is probably essential to get around.
- Katy (10/5): Bar staff - This place is so welcoming and comfortable, the staff are brilliant people x
- Nadine (10/5): My fave place - Amazing such a lovely place to visit
- Ann (10/5): - Perfect location for our overnight in Milton Keynes.
Travelling to watch the Ampthill rugby game.
Delighted to find restaurant open quite late.
Excellent choice and price.
Excellent reception and restaurant staff.
- Wayne (6/5): Great if they have your booking - Great location, they didn’t have my booking and took ages to track it down eventually blaming Hotels.com for not sending it across.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Below average and cold - Strange hotel if you’re not there for a business trip or to use the spa.. Access to all room is through the restaurant then via an incredibly long cold corridor. Rooms are quite cramped. Clean and basic, room service ladies were very lovely. Breakfast was below average in my opinion, no quality to the food apart from the croissants! Just an oddly layed out and run hotel lol
- Hayley (4/5): - Heating doesn’t work! Me and my friend was freezing all night we complained to front desk they was nice enough to give us a portable heater but for the size of the room it did nothing! Had a very sleepless night as we was freezing only thing to keep us warm was having plenty of hot showers and sitting in the bathroom with the steam!
I made another complaint to the morning staff and all they said was do I want a late check out for free but I had already paid for late check out.. feel very disappointed as I do like staying here.. but after this I don’t know if il be back again :(
- Paul (6/5): - Not a great start, they had lost my booking so after five hours of driving I had to wait around in reception but the person on reception was wonderful, I slept very well, nice hot shower in the morning, but very persistent chamber maids, them were constantly knocking on the door
- Zulfiya (10/5): - EXCELLENT
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quite good
