Guest Reviews
- 860marie (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Stayed 1 night and was very impressed . Lovely location . Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful .Breakfast was excellent .
- stevebA6734DZ (10/5): Amazing Sunday lunch - Fantastic Sunday lunch in the restaurant
Food was wonderful, atmosphere great and most importantly a first class service from the moment we arrived
Special mention for our waitress Tracey who no only provided an excellent service she also managed to keep my party entertained throughout our experience
I would certainly be recommending to friends and family
- 38margs (10/5): Try the breakfasts - Wonderful. Wonderful! WONDERFUL!!!
The place is gorgeous. The rooms are scrummy. The food is delicious (especially breakfast) and the Bruce dude in the mornings is top notch.
The place was almost full and he handled it all by himself with a humour and grace.
What a great stay.
- Travel37009191859 (8/5): Short stay in the Cotswolds - First, the hotel’s staff were amazing, from the reception to the bar staff and in particular housekeepers, they could not have been more helpful.
The room was fine but not enough space for clothes storage.
Ideal location for touring the Cotswolds.
- julia2tb (10/5): Birthday treat - Hotel was great and location wonderful. All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was lovely.
- pineappleartsthe2026 (10/5): Last minute Friday night away to meet up with a friend. - Have visited a few times as friends in the area …. always a friendly relaxed atmosphere with lovely rooms and food.
Only one night this time but such a special venue where we are always made to feel welcome and we will be back again .. only downside is that’s it’s so good that it’s hard to book last minute!
- 771maralyns (10/5): It Couldn’t Be Bettered - We couldn’t have chosen a nicer place for a few days away in the Cotswolds. Clean rooms, sumptuously soft beds that just cuddled you, good food and the Mill race to lull you to sleep every night. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The menus were varied and had several fish dishes on the evening dinner menu. A good location for exploring the Cotswolds and don’t miss a visit to Blenheim Palace. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely be booking again very soon.
- colinmQ5555LH (10/5): Outstanding - Wonderful stay lovely views and a beautiful room delicious food comfortable seating in the bars and restaurant , warm and friendly staff can’t wait to go again
- chrisac1230 (10/5): Lovely hotel and restaurant - Warm and cosy hotel. The cooked breakfast, which was included in our room rate, was very good and the evening meals were tasty and original. Close to Nailsworth centre bus station, you can catch the 63 into Gloucester, which is very convenient.
- lorencroudace (10/5): Review - The Egypt Mill hotel & Restaurant exceeded my expectations. The location was beautiful and the room was just as stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I can’t recommend the hotel enough!
- blackburnpeter12026 (10/5): 2 night stay - Excellent service from all staff. Good restaurant not too pricy for an evening meal and nice breakfast with a good range of choices. Well appointed rooms very comfortable for a 2 night stay
- cliff_taylor2 (10/5): Excellent choice - Really nice place, we ate there too and were served lovely food by lovely people. The old mill buildings were so nice, well lit, close to town (though not much in Nailsworth). Beware of the need to register your car, otherwise you might get a fine like I did, I explained this to the hotel who kindly got in touch with the car parking bandits a got the fine cancelled. Highly recommended hotel, but I guess we were lucky as I hear they do weddings and you could find yourself in a noisy venue?
- Zaitoons12 (4/5): Bad slow service. Parking system is not working. - Warning the car parking system in place at the hotel is unacceptable I put my number plate into the machine as you have to do now today I have received a parking fine I will never go there under any circumstances if they don't get the fine cancelled I have to get legal advice.
- tracyhF9217CL (10/5): Delicious food but sadly cashless 😢.. - Booked a table for a Birthday lunch for my partner & I. Servers were very quick & efficient serving our meal even though the pub/restaurant was very busy. Our lunch was delicious, everything perfectly cooked with fresh produce......Unfortunately the only downside for me is that it is cashless so I won't be visiting again....bring the cash back please! 🙏
- U6384BBcharlese (2/5): £100 Parking fine even having registered the vehicle at the bar. - Reasonable meal but ended up with a £100 parking fine, even though I completed the vehicle registration details on the PC at the Bar.
Now having to appeal.
What a pain. I won't be going again.
- Kelly (10/5): - The room was beautiful with gorgeous fixtures and ammenities. The staff were amazing! Everybody was friendly and helpful and kind. The housekeeping staff had such positive energy and were an absolute delight, giving me lots of wonderful recommendations for local restaurants and things to do and see around the area. On check out Sharissa was also extremely helpful and generous with her time as I had a few issues with my hire car booking which she assisted me with. The lovely young gentleman waiter at dinner was very sweet also. I can only assume there is an excellent manager on site as the whole hotel had such a positive energy. The free parking onsite was fabulous too Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- I9006QZaliceh (10/5): Our wedding day - We can’t recommend Egypt Mill enough. We got married on 03.10.25 and from the moment we booked our wedding back at the end of 2022, everything has been absolutely seamless. The whole process has been stress free thanks to the incredible team, especially Lauren, who went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was perfectly organised. She is such an amazing person and all our family and friends agreed when they saw how wonderful she made our wedding day.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, communication was always clear and friendly, and we felt supported from start to finish. On the day, everything ran flawlessly, the venue looked stunning and exactly as we imagined. The team were amazing, and it genuinely felt like our dream wedding come to life.
Thank you to Lauren and everyone at Egypt Mill, for giving us the most magical day we could have ever imagined. We’ll treasure the memories forever and hope to stay in touch.
- sarajM1930RV (10/5): Great! - Nice to see Bruce back from holiday! We love you! The Mill is great too.
Always a pleasure to stay and be waited upon!
We just love this place.
- PAMELA (4/5): No room at the inn - I am old and had travelled up from Devon. I could not manage the stairs. I did ascend once but felt quite poorly. The young man who escorted me was polite but unsure of what to do. I asked for a room on the ground/first floor but nio availability. I was left for half an hour, in the delightful room, before I phoned and asked what was happening. Nothing was!! No other room, so I asked for my bill( £186) paid, and left, feeling exhsusted at having to drive home late, to Cambridveshire. The staff were polite but not very sympathetic. I appreciate I should not have forgotten to ask for a lower floir room but feel that staff at this hotel should let people know when a room is up 4 fligjts of stairs, at the end of the corridor
- G9435FQjamesg (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Stayed here for our Pearl wedding anniversary, the ambience and setting of the hotel is second to none the restaurant and lounge is inside a huge water mill with the water wheel on display , the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food and ales are second to none. You can also sit, drink and eat in the beautiful outside gardens with the flowing brooks and streams around the water wheels full of brown trout .What a lovely stay we had and we would definitely return .Thank you Egypt Mill .
- S9672MVdebbiem (8/5): Beautiful tranquil spot - Booked this lovely hotel last minute as we needed somewhere to stay the night before our trip to Highgrove House the next day.
Definitely the best choice, the reviews were right. It’s a beautiful hotel in pretty surroundings, they’ve certainly made the best of incorporating the old mill aesthetically into the hotel and it’s great to see.
Our room was modern, very clean and had everything that you’d need for a comfortable stay. The great walk in shower was perfect as I have arthritis issues. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch.
I would’ve given 5 stars but I sadly didn’t sleep too well, the bed was sadly too soft for me and as I have arthritis problems I needed a firmer bed. Just a personal preference and others might prefer this type of bed. The room position was very quiet and peaceful (room24).
We enjoyed a yummy roast dinner and breakfast the next morning, both delicious and then plentiful!
Every member of staff we came across were very helpful and very friendly too, I’d highly recommend this gem of a hotel😊
- Janard645 (10/5): A great journey stopover hotel or weekend break - My wife and I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate her birthday. It was our first visit here and we were very pleased with the Mill grounds and external facilities. Inside, the property was well presented and the decor fitted the building extremely well. All staff were polite, helpful and always cheerful. Our room had all the facilities we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The dinner menu was varied and our meals were tasty. The overall visit exceeded our expectations. Would fully recommend.
- jadeyat (10/5): - My family had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant. Huge thanks to Stacey, she was an incredible waitress and extremely thoughtful the entire time. She was magical. The kitchen staff were brilliant regarding food allergies as well. A great experience! I highly recommend having family reunions here!
- Daniel (8/5): - Very pretty building being a former mill, and very handy for local gig. Nice little village with lovely shops. Generally a great find
- Mrs (8/5): - Overall it was a lovely stay there, a place full of character, very well located.
Good carpark facilities with few EV chargers.
Great restaurant and bar with lovely outdoor area, apart from the point where the stream comes to the mill. It needs TLC because the rubbish clutters there and is not nice to see. We had a very enjoyable afternoon in the outdoor area.
The room was lovely full of character, with lower beams and plenty warnings about not banging our heads.
It was clean and the bed very comfortable.
Unfortunately, we were just above the party room without any warning about it. We had to listen the the singer for a while probably until 11 PM. It wasn't a disaster, but we would had preferred a heads up like other hotels have done to arrange our plans around it.
- Asma (10/5): - Comfortable and clean. Enjoyed our stay. Will book again.
- I3802SBbettyt (10/5): Great time - We had a great stay. The rooms are tasteful and The grounds are lovely. What set it apart was The service from Bruce. All three mornings he zipped about making eveyone smile and his service was spot on. The breakfasts themselves are delicious and when served in a tomely matter with genuine care, well, above and beyond.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and service - The stay started perfectly with reception doing all she could (slim, very long dark hair, very friendly) to allow me into my room early. The room was just as pictured and perfect for this break. Great extras in tge room including cookies and coffee machine. The bar and food service was good and just as friendly.
- Justin (10/5): - Fabulous setting fabulous place fabulous room!! Food was excellent, staff were superb. Definitely be back 👍
- ColinMac22 (10/5): Great riverside location - We really enjoyed our one-night stay here. The bar and restaurant have been tastefully converted and the building is very impressive from the outside. There are two outdoor locations to have drink (both next to the river), our room was a good size with a comfortable bed and the food in the restaurant, both in the evening and at breakfast, was excellent. Staff were all very helpful.
- Sightseer35672897716 (10/5): great evening - We had a great evening, a lovely location right by the water. Very busy considering it was midweek but staff were very attentive. We were served by Molly and she couldn't do enough to make sure our needs met. To be honest, all the staff were very warm and welcoming, it seemed like nothing was too muchm what a great pub!
- FenlanderTopcat (10/5): Excellent - Ate here on the last night of our vacation and it was excellent. Set in a pretty location with large car park that is free providing you log your car reg in the hotel. The food was very good and the service excellent (a lovely helpful and friendly waitress). We would have eaten here again had it not been our last day.
- Liam (10/5): Excellent hotel - welcoming staff - lovely rooms - Staff were very welcoming and relieved the stress from a very long journey. Room was lovely and had been recently renovated. Bathroom was excellent and the setting in general was beautiful being right on the river. Likely won't be back to the area until the same time next year, but won't bother looking at other hotels if the price is reasonable. Can't comment on food as we arrived late and left early, but the restaurant had a nice ambiance.
- Gary (10/5): - We stayed here for a Valentine's treat, we ate in the restaurant which was amazing the food was great and plenty of choice. The room was cozy warm well decorated and modern would definitely stay here again
- sarasX3776DR (10/5): Birthday celebration - Wow what a wonderful stay, all staff so friendly from front of house, to waiting staff and cleaners. Food great and room and beds so comfortable, highly recommend.
A great setting, an easy walk into the village with some lovely shops!
Will be back.
- plantsman_10 (8/5): Beautiful old Mill - Lovely Hotel in Nailsworth with beautiful Mill Pond setting for having drinks and food. We stayed in the Mill house overlooking the Garden and it was very quiet. The room was comfortable with a good ensuite. Breakfast was a good choice and well presented. The staff are all very attentive and professional.
- Q1437JGjohnh (10/5): Great service! - Told you we'd be back. Our new home away from home. Breakfast starts at 7 am likethe old days and I can be at work before 8.
We were here on Thursday the 17th of April and we were not disappointed.
We checked in and everybody is pleasant but again the go to guy was Bruce.
His service was wonderful even though he cheekily says that he "strives for mediocraty"
He is a pleasure to watch working. The place had 7 or 8 tables and he handled us all with charm and a smile.
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent attentive staff & service
- Mark (10/5): - Such a beautiful location. Staff were very friendly
- Aimee (10/5): - Great stay! Recommend booking in the rooms outside of the main building as newer rooms. Great restaurant & bar, good food & so close to town
- James (10/5): Cotswolds stay - Hotel was lovely and beautiful , comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was good but service slightly slow possibly due to being understaffed.
- sandrahU7610WW (10/5): Sad to leave - Told you we'd be back for a little sunshine and happiness!
What a wonderful place for any meal and a stay.
We came down this morning and greeted again by Bruce. It was very busy again and he was running about as usual. Coffee and teas were on the table in seconds as we helped ourselves to the continental buffet whilst waiting to order. Two full englishes cooked to perfection.
We hope to be back soon but if not, a very, very huge thank you to Bruce and the team.
Everything was perfect.
- Sara (10/5): - The Egypt mill is an amazing place, dog friendly and just so much character, we stayed in the Jones building with our dog, the room was spacious, beautifully warm and cosy, with a lovely on-suite bathroom.
I would really recommend a stay!
- 464marcusu (10/5): Great food 👍 - Second visit to Egypt Mill over past few months, and I have to say it’s brilliant. Well worth a visit for anyone in the area. Great quality food with a great variety on the menu, I’m sure everyone can find something on the menu. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, all the staff are pleasant and very helpful. Food is reasonably priced also. I didn’t take my dog but I saw dogs in all areas of the bar and restaurant.
- K5715GAsusanj (10/5): Excellent - Having stayed here overnight last year on a trip from Yorkshire to Devon, to break our journey, we felt we had discovered a little wonder. So, on a return trip to Devon we did not hesitate to book here again. Not only superb and lovely friendly hospitality but a free upgrade to a lovely quiete room, lovely food and even a search for decaf coffee pods for me was no trouble ! Not to mention the delicious breakfast and very timely delivery !! Thank you x We will definitely be back for our next stop over 👍
- C9902JLgranth (10/5): Exceptional Service and food. - Three breakfasts and Three Lunches!
Wehave been here since Tuesday night and the food has been outstanding! But it pales against the service. You man appeaes to bealways turn up to 11.
Runni night abut making sure everybody is happy and remebering all things needed.
Have a great weekend Bruce!
- S3975WLjaneb (10/5): Fantastic - Just when you think morning cannot get better!
The beds are scrumptous! The food delightful. The service? Wonderful!
And to top finish our trip, Bruce swoops in again to attend to our every need. The man is a force to reckoned with in the mornings. Be on your toes! He is quick with the coffee and the wit.
It has been a pleasure. We will return.
- 703ollier (10/5): Dinner with friends - Last Friday I came to dinner at Egypt Mill with 10 of my mates. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, the team that were serving us, especially Ben were top class! Compliments to the Chef, especially Head Chef Jibin for the incredible food. I had 3 courses which were the chicken wings, rigatoni and for my dessert I had the Pumpkin Brûlée which was the best by far! Thank you for a good evening, I’ll be coming back soon!
- J3566SHbethc (10/5): Lovely setting and great food! - Egypt mill has a lovely setting with a high level of cleanliness. Building has a really nice rustic feel to it. Staff were really friendly and service was efficient. Food was great, had a pizza and a crumble which were both really lovely, friends had steaks and said they were excellent!
- taniapD7186GV (10/5): One of the best hotel experiences ever... - This hotel provides a historic charm, along with comfortable rooms and delightful dining. The staff were so friendly and Cotswold setting helped it to be a relaxed getaway making it a really memorable experience. I would definitely consider visiting again.
- H4812BGannb (10/5): Excellent - Great Stay with Excellent Service!
During my recent visit to Egypt Mill. I had the pleasure of staying and I was thoroughly impressed. From check-in to check-out, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, always ensuring that my stay was comfortable.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- carools2025 (10/5): Carool - I had an excellent time with my friends at the restaurant. The service was amazing and all the staff members were very friendly . The food was also great . Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience .I Will definitely be coming back soon !
- 538carynp (10/5): Amazing - Very delicious food. Amazing service. The staff were very friendly and cooperative. Had an amazing time while at the restaurant and we enjoyed the food and everything. All in all we would give 5/5 for the food, staff, cooperation, parking availability and easy access.
- claremC9501GD (10/5): Superb Quirky Hotel ! - This was our fourth visit to this lovely quirky hotel. It has been refurbished since our first visit with cosy warm rooms plus superb ensuites. This time we were celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary. Thank you for the complementary bottle of fizz much appreciated. The staff were all friendly and helpful including the cheerful lady who cleaned our room. Compliments to the chefs we enjoyed the breakfasts and dinner . During better weather it's a great experience to sit by the river enjoying a drink.. We will be back !
- Linda (10/5): - Beautiful room, bed very comfortable. View up the river and outdoor area was gorgeous. Just need some ear plugs from the river noise.
Food was excellent
Definitely on our list to go back and do some of the walks
- milliebE3990GR (4/5): Disappointing meal - Had a meal here recently and left feeling really disappointed. Ordered the fish cakes and a tiny portion arrived, with 2 small fish cakes and tiny poached egg and one singular piece of broccoli, they could have gotten away with serving this as a starter. I had to order chips as well. Someone tried the peri peri chicken and half the chicken was stone cold and very grisly which put them right off and the coleslaw was not appetising. Really disappointing meal and will not be returning anytime soon.
- Matthew (6/5): - Breakfast on Sunday was cold and took a long time with no apology for the wait and nobody asked us how it was.
The room was far too hot. We turned the radiator off the first day and for some reason someone turned it back on the 2nd day.
No hot water morning of Saturday and Sunday morning it ran out.
- Tracey (10/5): - Absolutely gorgeous old hotel. The pub/restaurant atmosphere was welcoming anf the staff were friendly.
- Teresa (10/5): If you love historical buildings this is a must. - This was a magical place.A former mill which had been tastefully converted without being spoiled .
The staff were absolutely lovely right down to the cleaners who were so friendly and interesting. Nailsworth is clearly a town where people take a pride in their industrial history and beautiful setting.
- Nicholas (10/5): Lovely stay! - Lovely stay, rooms was great, bed very comfortable and amazing shower!!
- Alison (8/5): - Hotel was lovely, we booked the family room as it had a sofa bed, even tho only for myself and husband we would have a bigger room. Unfortunately the room was built in the basement so had to go down stairs, although it was a really lovely room it was dark as the only two windows were small and at ground level. This would’ve put us off booking this room had it been mentioned but if you don’t mind this then it’s a lovely room.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Beautiful setting comfortable accommodation
- Carolyn (10/5): - This is a great place to stay! A very cozy and queit room. Staff are cerybfriendly, food is great!
- ANTHONY (10/5): Nailsworth - Great value, charming hotel, bed extremely comfortable
Would certainly visit again
- Adam (10/5): - Our stay at Egypt Mill was excellent. We especially enjoyed our evening meal as the food was amazing. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly too.
We loved the history of the hotel and loved to see the original features of the old mill amongst the modern features.
- Shannon (8/5): - We had a nice stay here despite it being an extremely busy Saturday night in August. We really liked the buildings and accommodation (in the annexe building) and the place has been very nicely developed and is well maintained. The staff were excellent and seemed to know what they were doing - which is not always the case since the pandemic. However, with a wedding and two private parties, it was very noisy and busy and some areas were not available to ordinary hotel guests. On a lovely August evening it was a shame we could not use the garden. I think that it would have been good to know this in advance. The food was fine but basically only upgraded 'pub grub'. Having said all that, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you
- David (8/5): - lovely setting
- Martin (10/5): - The property was amazing, everyone was friendly and helpful. Bedroom was amazing and comfy bed. Lovely clean fresh laundered linen and bathroom facilities a dream. Must mention Harry in the bar area as he has great customer Service skills and lots of banter.
- Malcolm (8/5): Weekend braek - Excellent hotel in classic style old mill
- Peter (10/5): - We travel by road (push) bicycle and appreciate that they allowed us to take them to our room even though up stairs. Room was very good. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast too.
- Christian (10/5): - Brilliant
- Rose-Marie (10/5): Fantastic Family Reunion! - On arrival at the Egypt Mill Hotel we were immediately impressed by the place, it's atmosphere, it's decor, cleanliness and very helpful and up beat staff (many smiles and all very proactive). We only stayed for one night but we all wished we were staying longer so has to explore not only the hotel in depth with it's wonderful setting and grounds but the area in and around Nailsworth as well. As the person who chose this destination for our special family reunion I was given plenty of credit and praise from my family for the choice of destination i had made. They were very impressed and said the Egypt Hotel had raised the stakes as to where we would have our next reunion...so thank you all!
- Stewart (10/5): - Rooms nicely decorated and bed very comfortable
- Kimberley (10/5): - We were booked in the Egypt Mill for a single night before driving to London and another hotel.
We liked the Egypt Mill so well, we stayed a second night even though we had already paid for the London stay. IT WAS WORTH IT.
Great service, beautiful spacious rooms (in the red brick building), roomy bathroom with great shower, everyone was friendly and helpful.
Sound of water to sleep to. Windows open all night and barely any traffic.
Great patio to have a drink and meal.
I can’t say enough good things.
I definitely recommend it and will stay again if we get the opportunity.
- Alison (10/5): - Loved sitting by the mill pond with a cool drink at the end of the day.
- Andrew (10/5): - So different. Old mill with so much character and by the river. Great bird life and views. Staff were efficient in the evening and Bruce was an absolute star at breakfast. Our room just excellent with the best pillows ever. Hot water, clean, comfortable. We are already deciding when to come again.
- alan (10/5): - Beautiful room. Nice pub with great staff. Breakfast was great and the service was impeccable. Everything about this place was top notch
- peter (10/5): - Stunning setting and layout. First class service and attention to detail. very best of hotels.
- Robert (10/5): Great accommodation - Great location for where I was working and good value even with the races on that week
- Paul (8/5): - Beautiful site with original mill buildings converted to Hotel and Bar/Resaurant.
- Lin (10/5): - Love Egypt Mill building - the beams, the mill stream and gushing water, the history. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished.
- Steve (8/5): - It was a very nice overnight stay and a very early start for me the following day.
The radiator in my bedroom made regular tooting sounds every ten minutes or so but it didn't disturb my sleep. I accidentally pressed the AV button on the tv remote and could not get back to normal tv stations, but that was no real problem as I needed to get an early night for my full day following. I can see how the Egypt Mill must be a magical venue in summer. The food in the restaurant menu looked fabulous.I enjoyed a simple but terrific dinner there.

- Allie (8/5): - Cosy room was fine for our needs. Mostly good but some decorative issues. Foyer to cosy rooms building smelled fusty and was a bit of a let down after the amazing main building.
Bar and food were tremendous!
Main area and outdoor areas were beautiful. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Really enjoyed our stay.
- MISS J L CHAPMAN (6/5): - The entrance of the accommodation is terrible. The carpet is mouldy and very stained. It smells of damp and stinks of stale smoke. The rooms although comfortable bed and very clean need a makeover. Very dated in a non practical way.
Lack of lighting. Bedside tables not close to the bed. Distinct lack of sockets or bizarre placement of sockets. If it had a makeup over which it desperately needs it would be a gem. It was very clean though especially the bathroom. And the bed was super comfortable. It wouldn’t cost much to make that another star on the ratings.
- Philip (10/5): - I’ve been a licensed Architect for more than a half a century in California and recently did a tour of seven hotels in the Cotswold’s. I chose the ones that I thought would be the most interesting.
This one is it!
The others were impressive examples of structures built for the upper classes. This one is a tribute to the Working Class.
The Mill has two Waterwheels which, although built a century apart, are each an example of the Highest Technology of their time. Whoever turned this into a hotel did a marvelous job of blending this factory type environment into a pleasant, restful, lovely place while exposing you to that Technology. They preserved your ability to experience the time period by not overly modernizing it.
Beautiful Water Gardens, Very good Food & the Staff are very Welcoming, Friendly, and Knowledgeable …. I would especially like to thank Charlie, she does an excellent job. Cheers!
- Wayne (10/5): Pretty Location, Plenty of Parking and Great Food - Property has a large carpark which was great. We arrived for 3pm and the restaurant/bar was very busy but the Lady who checked us in was very polite and professional. We even managed to get a last minute table for 2 Sunday lunch which was delicious. Room was very nice and had been recently renovated. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. Overall a lovely 1x night stay and would definitely stay again.
- Brian (8/5): Lovely Couple of nights at Egypt Mill - Lovely couple of nights with a few drinks by the brook as well as lovely dinner in the restaurant
- Jordan (6/5): Don’t expect an early Breakfast - Over the years I’ve stayed at the Egypt Mill many times, but some of the rooms now are becoming very tired and dated. BUT the main reason I won’t be staying again is the lateness of breakfast/checkout. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8am which is far too late when working, I also struggled to find someone to open up to allow me to check out.
- fran (8/5): Nice stay, needs a little attention - great staff, great food, nice room looking over the river. Carpets looking a little tired in places as is the outside area around the pond. Good parking
- Lee (10/5): - Overall a very nice place and a great restaurant which I'd recommend, with friendly staff. The room was nice. Only downside was a slightly dirty bedsheet, and the windows are not great for drowning out outside noise, but this is probably due to the windows being original and maybe listed.
- Jeremy (8/5): - Pleasant stay.
- John (10/5): An in with character - Cleaned every day during our stay
- Sylvia (8/5): - Lovely hotel and position.
Only negative was to reception
- Michael R (10/5): Beautiful old building in a great location - I really enjoyed my brief stay in this beautiful and historic hotel.
- Jill (10/5): - History of the water mill
- Kathleen (10/5): - We are so grateful that we found this amazing hotel after another location fell through at the last minute. The beauty of the hotel and the entire surrounding area was so wonderful and peaceful, the food in the pub was amazing, the staff was delightful...I can't say enough! I am writing this from my sofa in the US and am missing it already!
- T (8/5): - As usual my stay was good. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
However, as a person staying for business breakfast is too late. Starting service at 8 is too late, if you would like to eat, the most important meal of the day, an then have to travel on some where to start work at 8 to 8.30.
- Mark (4/5): - Comfy beds, and an ok room for the price but it didn’t include breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great couple of nights at the Egypt Mill. Visited for Cheltenham and was spot on
- Marilyn (10/5): January stay - Bathroom a bit outdated but room was huge and so was the comfy bed.
The staff couldn't do enough to help!
