The sun house and the gardens are so relaxing to stroll through before a flight. Beds and pillows super comfy. It would be great if there could be a reception. But that would make it more expensive.

Phoned no answer, phoned again and left a voicemail still no communication. Complained to booking.com who made me wait 45 minutes before they would cancel it! This hotel shouldn't take same day bookings if they can't deliver.

- Michelle (10/5): - Just easy! Near airport (8min uber drive). It was comfy, warm and homely. The gardens were fantastic - just goegous plantings, and a lovely stroll to shake off travel fog. Conservatory etc. Airport transfers brilliant. Will def choose hookwood over the other bunch of airport hotels. For consideration- The shower needs an upgrade - water runs out without a shower curtain or glass screen. Need more hooks on wall in bathroom to hang clothes. The bathroom tap blastswater you cant control the flow. Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful view from the window looking over the parkland and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the airport. Crunchy gravel driveway so I could hear cars arriving or leaving (but I did have my window open a little)

With such a lovely dining/living area, it was such a shame there was no inhouse breakfast option. Also, being a hotel it would have been nice to have staff around for the personal touch. I do empathise however with companies and the cost of this.

We fly from Inverness to Gatwick and this lodge is just a 5 min taxi away from airport and so easy to get taxi in the morning. Self check in and lovely big clean room with all you need! You get a text in the morning with a get code and they leave your key out for you in an envelope 👌🏼 None

- Anthony (10/5): EXCEPTIONAL. - Exceptional. 22 acres to take in, family run, renovated in 2007 and updated since, yet everything was spotless, clean and quality. Even the toilet rolls were quality. The furniture in my room was antique probably within the family history. Topped off with the cost which sums this well organised business. Not greedy but quite the reverse, very giving which explains why this is the best place I have stayed in for a long time. There’s absolutely nothing to not like. Even the garden outside the lounge/bedroom window was beautiful manicured and mature. A wonderful place to chill out in and well away from the quiet road.

The property was so beautifully decorated . It felt so homely and comfortable , felt like home. We even extended our stay by another night . The length the hosts took to make the guests comfortable is highly applaudable . The welcome book giving each and every detail a guest would require during their stay was so very helpful thank you !!! Nothing at all .

- Nathalie (4/5): Cottage voller Überraschungen - Das Bett war sehr bequem und der Transfer zum Flughafen wurde vom Hotel für mich und meine Tochter toll organisiert. Die USB-Anschlüsse haben nicht funktioniert, es gab beim Check in kein Personal in der Rezeption und nachts war kein Personal zu sehen. In einem Umschlag habe ich meinen Schlüssel und Anweisungen über das Zimmer und das Check out. Im Zimmer über uns befand sich ein sehr aktives Liebespaar, das über längere Zeit hinweg äußerst laut war (lautes Stöhnen sowie wiederholtes, starkes Schlagen des Bettes gegen den Boden), bei mir war meine Tochter. Ich musste ihr bestätigen, was sie selber vermutete: Peinlich und unangenehm. Fazit: Die Schalldämmung ist unzureichend – man hört nahezu alles. Da zudem kein Personal vor Ort war, mussten wir mit diesen Unannehmlichkeiten allein zurechtkommen. Für dieses Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hätte ich deutlich mehr erwartet. .

They don't charge extra to park overnight (which is a real bug bear of mine for hotels near Gatwick. It has a lovely pub 5 minutes walk away. The parking was secure and the room adequate. To be honest nothing. Some people may find it a little impersonal that you don't see anyone when you check in. It suits me though as I'm not a people person anyway. Also I guess if you're not a fan of going to the pub it is a bit remote. They're not my views though and it wouldn't put me off staying again.

Clean, tidy and comfortable. Good night sleep ready for Gatwick airport which is only 5 mins drive away. Excellent value for money. There was staff up and around just gone 4am....they were loud! Think it was mainly some guys from the Tudor Rose Parking. Luckily we had to be at the airport early so they acted as an early wake up call!! Could be annoying to other guest's who didn't want to be woken that early. The shower didn't have a door or curtain so the bathroom floor got soaked.....luckily had water resistant covering.

- Paul (8/5): An enjoyable and relaxing time in pleasant room and surroundings. - It’s a large and comfy traditional house set in a nice green, yet convenient location. Has good sized rooms. Check out at 10:30am is a bit early.

- Diane (9/5): - Clean comfortable warm room Everything provided fridge tea and coffee hairdryer toiletries Smooth no fuss check in and check out and secure parking Set in nice grounds and quiet location
- Dave (9/5): - Didn't have breakfast, but walking distance to a nice, friendly family pub for food and drinks. The hotel was clean, spacious and well maintained, all in all very pleased and great value for money

- natasha (8/5): Convenient to airport, no complaints :) - It was close to the airport, lovely big room and fairly quiet given people were up at all hours for flights (including us).
