• Lisa (8/5): We loved the atmosphere - We really enjoyed the atmosphere at this hostel. It was the only hostel we booked, and it was fun to meet some of the other guests. The place is very unique and beautiful. And they helped me with laundry. We would definitely stay there again. We found the beds to be quite hard. We were in the family room on roll out matts. We are staying at a few places with these matts, but most have added an extra pad underneath for comfort. We could feel the floor under us, which was fine for the kids, but harder for my older body.

• Kanon (3/5): I wish those rules had been mentioned before booking. - A cozy, classic Japanese-style guesthouse with tatami floors and futon beds Although there were doors, we could hear people breathing in the next room. There was also a curfew, and lights had to be off by 11 pm. Drinking and eating were not allowed in the room. I booked a private room to spend the night with my boyfriend, but we ended up moving to another hotel for more privacy.

• María Fernanda (10/5): Casa histórica y encantadora - La casa era muy linda. Tenía alrededor de 100 años, pero se notaba muy bien mantenida. La decoración de tortugas era muy adorable, estaban en cada pequeño rincón del lugar. Nuestra pieza era amplia y cómoda, dormimos muy bien en los futones. El lounge para estar y comer era muy agradable. Los hosts eran muy amables, nos explicaron muy bien cómo funcionaba todo, y recibieron nuestras maletas que enviamos con Yamato Kuroneko antes de nuestro check in. Fue una muy buena estadía. El lugar estaba bien conectado a la estación de Kamakura con un bus de distancia.

This was really a Japanese experience. The walls are thin, so you'll hear other people's conversations. However, the staff provides earplugs.

Nice lounge space where everyone can relax, and excellent free tea and coffee. Breakfast was also really delicious. Dormitory a little short on space (in terms of where to put bags), but not really a problem at all.

• Damien (5/5): - la maison est belle et grande, on est proche des commerces et le quartier est assez calme c'était super jusqu'a ce qu'on se rende compte qu'il n'y a pas du tout d'isolation. on s'est fait réveiller à 6h du matin par des gens qui préparent leurs petits déjeuner vu que notre chambre était collé à la cuisine.

The location was super close to the beach and about a 10 minute walk from downtown. The staff was so exceptional! I became good friends with them! They could not be more sweet and welcoming. I would happily come back! I have no notes! More turtles!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lovely, charming locale and loved all of the Turtle items throughout. Not much space in the bedroom for luggage storage: opening and closing. Weather was cold and the bathroom and shower room were quite cold and drafty. It would be super helpful to have a microwave to heat up food purchased.

• Hope Owano (10/5): Cozy Japanese traditional house with great hosts and perfect location. - I had a smooth experience from booking to checkout. The guest house is located near many shops, cafes, the station, and the beach. The hosts are really kind, friendly, and happy to chat about their travels. The host even played the Mbira for me, a Zimbabwean instrument, with such ease. The house is a cozy, traditional Japanese house with cool, unique pieces throughout that balance the space perfectly. The futon was comfortable, and there was an AC in the room too.

It being a guesthouse means that you’re sharing a boarding with people from around the world, so it was fun to meet and have a chat with them. The lounging area was also great for that purpose.

• Anael (9/5): Traditional Stay - The traditional Japanese house has a lot of charm. We appreciated the hostel’s location near the sea with a stunning view of Mount Fuji, making it ideal for relaxing and reenergizing. The staff provided attentive service, and the breakfast was an excellent way to begin the day. We strongly recommend trying the breakfast! The only downside is that since it is an old house, the walls are very thin and everything can be heard. This needs to be considered especially when traveling with children.
• H (9/5): Mooie, traditionele, gezellige inn - Een charmante oude inn dichtbij zee. Aardige staff, koffie, thee. Gezellige gemeenschappelijke ruimte, je kan ook buiten zitten. Erg mooie traditionele tatami kamer. Het ligt rustig, maar er komt wel verkeer langs. Leuke restaurantjes in de buurt, je krijgt tips als je wil. Mooi uitzichtpunt voor Mount Fuji op 15 minuten lopen (aanrader!) Wij hebben in Kamakura ook een wijnproeverij gedaan, op loopafstand. Je hoort het verkeer wel en ook wat er verder in de inn gebeurt, maar dat hoort erbij met rijstpapieren wanden.

• Rhona (10/5): Traditional and peaceful - Beautiful, welcoming and kind hospitality, so clean and quiet, a unique and traditional experience sleeping on futons on tatami, and the location is great in the quiet space of Kamakura near the beach, but only a couple bus stops/20 minute walk from the inner city. I would stay here again!

• Devin (7/5): - Good location for access to town, beach, train. All the main sites like Buddha, some Temples, hikes, and the Enoshima? Island area not far at all. Quiet area of town. Some dorm beds are a little cramped (less than 2' wide or so). I always think access to a simple kitchen area is a plus for travelers.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the lounge and getting to know the other travelers staying. Loved everything about it. Walkable and the exact pace and atmosphere you want from a more traditional ryokan experience.

• SEOKMO (8/5): - 1. 고풍스러운 일본식 가옥. 건물 외부나 내부 인테리어가 예쁨. 2. 스탭들이 친절하고 최대한 도와주려고 노력하심. 1. 가마쿠라 역에서 거리가 좀 있음. 역과 숙소 앞을 오가는 버스가 있으나 혼잡 시간대에 캐리어를 들고 타기는 힘듦. 2. 전자레인지가 없어서 편의점이나 슈퍼에서 사온 음식을 데워먹긴 힘듦. 3. 사용했던 매트리스에 오염된 얼룩이 있었음. 시트를 깔고 사용해서 큰 문제는 없었으나 부담스러운 분도 계실것으로 생각함. 4. 매트리스가 오래되었는지 한쪽으로 꺼져있어서 잘때 불편했음. 3,4번 문제는 공용 도미토리에 들어가자마자 입구 바로 왼쪽에 있는 침대의 2층.

Ci si sente come a casa. - E’ la soluzione ideale se si vuole coniugare l’esperienza autentica delle case tradizionali giapponesi e l’ostello. Ci si sente come a casa, personale super disponibile, area comune molto accogliente e a due passi dalla spiaggia. Il dormitorio non è molto grande ma ognuno può avere la sua privacy. Si dorme sul futon quindi da evitare se si ha la schiena delicata.

Abbiamo apprezzato la pssibilità di avere a disposizione tè, caffè e acqua. Bagni in comune puliti. Ho notato poca attenzione e poco rispetto nelle ore serali. Siamo andati a dormire presto perchè il giorno dopo avevamo la sveglia alle 6:00 e la luce della camerata veniva accesa frequentemente senza essere poi spenta e c'erano molti rumori che ci hanno fatto faticare a prendere sonno. Dato che i proprietari si sono dimostrati molto attenti ai dettagli e alla cura consiglierei di inserire qualche regola in più. Materassi non del tutto comodi, perchè un po' troppo bassi ma è una cosa che già sapevamo in fase di prenotazione.

• GO (9/5): 離巴士站跟海邊都很近，是個很棒的日式體驗。 - 住區離公車站牌很近，一開始很擔心距離車站很遠可能要叫計程車，但從鎌倉車站很快就可以搭上公車，到站不用1分鐘就到住家了，老闆會貼MAP檔說明交通巴士車號及鄰近商家。回程也在同一站搭公車回鎌倉站，這讓四人有四大箱行李的人鬆了好大一口氣。若用走的至少要20分鐘，但沒有行李時，可以走走晃晃欣賞鎌倉的小巷人家景色，也可以走到附近的神社觀看。離海邊超級近，晚上走路散步過去很舒服，適合喜歡海邊的人。恰逢花火大會日，老闆會邀大家一起去海邊賞煙火及聊天，很可惜當天風大取消煙火，但老闆還是真誠招待每一位賓客，並且贈送小仙女棒在小庭院放送。就算沒有煙火大會，人群依舊會聚集海邊，也帶上各自的煙火工具放送。 若要說問題點，1.大概是住的是四人房，是靠客廳，若客廳有人聊天會聽到，僅隔著日式門扇(用門夾夾住門)，老公跟小孩比較不適應，我倒是OK的；也靠近路邊，路邊日式門扇是無法鎖上，但晚上很安靜，也感到安全。2.廁所有2間淋浴室有1間是共用的，大家若集中在同一時間洗澡，就會一直等來等去。

• Chiayun (7/5): 離鐮倉車站和熱鬧的地方有點遠，比較不方便。但如果是為了要來海邊玩的應該會覺得不錯 - 房子很漂亮，日本古民家的氛圍滿滿 睡在門口進去右邊的上鋪，非常難爬上去。 房間裡有悶悶的味道
