Guest Reviews
- Hildegard Unsworth (8/5): Cute cosy little house in great location - Great location. Cosy and well set up (eg big fridge, games for the kids). The bedrooms let a lot of light in. No dishwasher. The petrol station across the road can get quite noisy at different times.
- Byron (8/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Amazing location and great Bach! - Amazing location, very cute Bach!
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Pauline (9/5): Great location, comfortable and clean - Super location to explore Waiheke. Close to beach, shops and bus stops. Very clean. Lovely deck and garden. Great to have parking.
- Emma (9/5): A joy! - This is a fabulous little bach. We loved the location - in the heart of the village, a short walk to the beach and plenty of buses to get around. We rented a car one day to drive east and the parts of the island you can’t get to by bus. The bach is fully equipped with everything except a dishwasher. We loved the big back lawn and having a bbq on the deck. The kids loved the big tv. We had a couple of small issues and the management company sorted them out immediately - it was really great service.
- Van (8/5): A mixture of weather couldn't detract from the excellent location, comfortable layout. - In regards to the Lock box, it might be of benefit to have some overhead light on it ,as when the weather is wet ( or it's dark ) we found it difficult to distinguish numbers, even with phone torches. Mosquitos! Those buggers are BIG on Waiheke!
My mate needed a transfusion after the first nights assault....😆
Nah, facilities were great.
- Michelle (8/5): Nice but needs some essentials to make it excellent. - The property was very central to Oneroa, with the beach and the shopping area all in easy walking distance. The bach had a spacious outdoor area and was very clean and well-equipped. The single level dwelling made moving about the space easy and we enjoyed using the cards and other games. Overall, it was a comfortable dwelling during the day and a great place to base our adventures from. The photos on the site are true depictions of this pretty bach. The dwelling was very warm inside on the day that we arrived and opening all windows did not help to cool
It down easily. At night, we had to sleep with all windows open to keep the property ventilated inside. The fans provided did not cool the rooms down.
As the property is right across the road from a local fuel retailer, the very bright lights from the petrol station made both bedrooms very light all night and the blinds did not help to block out much light. Because we had to sleep with windows open, noise from the petrol station was also a bit of a nuisance.
Adding an air conditioning unit would be an excellent addition to this property, as would block-out curtains in the bedrooms. The nearly $700 per night should justify these additions and would encourage us to return for another stay, but without these features we would not return.
- Jodie (10/5): Awesome, lovely stay. - Awesome wee bach, so clean and comfy with everything we needed and the location was great.
- Thomas (9/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
- Victor (9/5): Superb - Close to shops and cafes. walking tracks to Black Pool. Lillte Oneroa beach. Clean and lovely bach.
- Janette (10/5): Most enjoyable and will definitely recommend to family and friends. - Perfect location, cleanliness and everything (except clothes pegs 😅) you would possibly need. A few Mossies but even Spray was supplied. In fact couldn’t fault the place 😊 Nothing
- Nicci27 (9/5): We fell in love with the lil blue bach and would book again in an instant! - The location was excellent, just around the corner from the main township of Oneroa, close to everything, the bus stop was like 2 houses away and the path down to the beach was right by the bus stop, couldn't have got a better location. Loved everything about this lil house, nice little deck out back to sit on with an umbrella, place was very clean too. Said it had a dishwasher but didn't and a pic showed 4 outdoor lounger chairs but there was only 1, not that that bothered us at all. Water pump has a switch that one of us accidentally turned off looking for the light switch so we had no water for a bit but our fault completely.
- Linda (10/5): The most relaxed trip in a beautiful setting in a traditional NZ bach. What’s not to love - Access to main hub bub. Style of property. Comfy beds.
- Paul (9/5): Perfect location - Comfortable and clean Nothing
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb - What a great wee place. Incredibly handy to Oneroa village shops and cafes. Comfy beds and living room area. Beautiful outside area. Would definitely book again. A few wee things could be fixed up to make this an exceptional place.
- Sarah (8/5): great place, funky bach, easy location - cute bach - great location bathroom very tiny
- Luke (6/5): Not Exceptional, Just Okay. - I may have missed it in the description, but this property does NOT have air-conditioning. The house was very stuffy and hot when we arrived, but admittedly cooled off nicely at night. Fans were provided and very necessary. The house was nice and clean, but some appliances were in poor condition or not working. There is a washing machine, but the "dryer" is a set of cloths lines in the back yard! lol I had the impression this property was closer to the beach and maybe even had a nice view, but that is not the case. It is located just off the main shopping street in a neighborhood with a view of a gas station :-(. It's quiet at night, but noisy with vehicle traffic during the day. We were out and about during the day and only used the home for sleeping, showering etc. It was just fine for that, but a relaxing vacation home to spend time in, this is not. That said, it is clean and well managed with good communication with the property management. I would not say it's a 10 or "exceptional". IMO it's a 6 at best. It's just okay. I would not book it again. Waiheke Island, however is beautiful and well worth visiting!
- Jacqueline (5/5): I am sorry we cannot recommend this place. - Comfy beds and quality linen.
Short walk to Oneroa shops. Somewhat noisy from being close to Oneroa shops, service station across the road and bus stop.
TV did NOT have cable, and remote for the basic TV channels did not work.
Oven door does not close. Waiheke Unlimited sent serviceman around to inspect, he said "both need replacing, too old".
Disappointing as we had planned 3 big days out, with dinners in.
No dishwasher - had not read this or would not have booked - found it a bit gross that a holiday rental does not have a dishwasher.
Shower curtain and surrounds grotty - mould starting to show.
- Roschelle (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Kelly (8/5): great location for the shops and beach. fun lawn to relax on - location blinds in the bedroom were broken and didn’t block out street lights.
- Robyn (10/5): fabulous well needed rest. loved every minute. highly highly recommended. - clean, well appointed, charming nothing!!
- Belinda (8/5): Would definitely stay there again, especially for location - Great location Unable to connect to wifi
Very small bathroom, but was adequate
- Gibson (10/5): Perfect stay at the Little Blue Bach - This little Bach was just perfect for our family. We stayed with our parents-in-law who were in the double bedroom and my husband, son and I stayed in the other room.
The location was also perfect; 5 minutes walk down to the beach, the town is also only 5 minutes away, if that. It was a little cold in the mornings (it was winter) but their were heaters provided.
- Gemma (9/5): We were very happy and comfortable. Thank you 😊. - Comfy beds, soft towels beautifully set out on beds upon arrival. Great use of space. Well equipped kitchen. Only thing we weren’t sure about was where to put our accumulated rubbish (apart from a bin under the kitchen sink).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There are no complaints about this lovely property. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely recommend it to our friends.
