Guest Reviews
- Abigail (10/5): - The staff were so nice and welcoming. Amazing location on the island, very close to all the tourist areas, lots of snorkel/dive shops nearby.
- Dan (9/5): - Great location on the island and a nice view from second floor.
- Xiao (8/5): -
- Faye Leila (10/5): - Excellent emplacement. Au top.
- Karen (10/5): - Great location! Basic, clean, comfortable. Staff provided water daily with both shower and beach towels. AC cold. 100% would stay again. Correction will stay again
- Marya (9/5): Great place to stay on Caye Caulker. - The location was wonderful and the hotel met all my expectations for comfort. You can watch the sunrise across the road and a few blocks away, watch the sunset. They were not open at their posted time of nine a.m. We wanted to rent bicycles. The same thing happened another day to someone else.
- Jeffery Peter (7/5): - Great location. Staff cleaned room daily. Air con super powerful but would give very cold air despite changing setting.
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Close to everything simplicity - Very close to everything and I loved the reserved beach chairs right across the street! It’s right along the main beachfront road… which is super convenient, but it also means that you get to hear folks who have imbibed a bit too much singing on their way home from the bars each night. 😂
- Loic (10/5): - Great location, very clean, efficient staff
- Bruce (5/5): Affordable, but tired. - Location was across from a great cafe, near grocery stores, the beach and activities for younger people. The room was clean. Daily room service was provided, including making the bed. However, all we needed was emptying the trash and more toilet paper. The facilities are tired, need attention. Kitchen facilities were a joke. Fridge that need defrosting. Microwave oven, but no dishes at all. Had to ask for a second fork. Front windows didn't open, only the small bathroom one.
- Selma (8/5): Great stay - I love that it it was so close to everything. The beds were pretty comfortable, and the room was cleaned daily.
Water was given every day, made it even better.
I would definitely return. Nothing
- Consuelo (10/5): Our stay was pleasant and nice. Enjoyed it. - The location was perfect - we could see passersby, water, vendors and beautiful coconut trees. We did not have the breakfast. A little renovation would be nice- if I remember, it’s one of the older hotels.
- Kay (8/5): - -Central location
-big room
-friendly staff
-beach towels
- Dickndan (9/5): Great location and large comfortable rooms - A really good budget option in a central location on Caye Caulker. The room was spacious, with a small kitchen area and two double beds, and a small shower room. We had seats on the shared balcony area in front of the room which overlooked the road and the sea. Eddie and his team are really friendly and helpful and we would recommend Rainbow Hotel.
Beach towels are provided and there are chairs by the water for hotel guests to use. Caye Caulker is tiny so its is easy to walk to anywhere on the island from the hotel. nothing
- Axel (10/5): -
- Raymond (10/5): I highly recommend this property - Perfect location, close to the ferry. Lovely room. Great facilities. Nothing
- Henrique (9/5): Great choice in the best area of Caye Caulker - Very comfortable option in Caye Caulker, the room is bigger than in the pictures. Perfect location as well
- Jade (10/5): Clean, friendly and a great location - Location was great, the staff is helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable. Overall a great stay!
- jeff (10/5): - Its hard to tell from the exterior photos if you haven't been to caye caulker before but its perfectly located. Super comfortable, clean. The staff were great. The value was great. We've rebooked to go back down but cant get in here as the dates are booked but after everything i saw on the island, this is where I would stay again.
- Dale (10/5): All good - Location was excellent the restaurant was fine. Loved being over the water Na
- Maarten (8/5): -
- Stefan (9/5): -
- Koenvanz (10/5): - Locatie is mooi centraal, dichtbij de boot en de split Er is geen zitplek in de schaduw, de kamer is heerlijk maar dat is het ook
- Jay (10/5): - Wonderful stay right in the action for LobsterFest Andy room was very nice and clean.
- Michelle (10/5): - My favorite hotel in Caye Caulker! Always super clean, great AC and excellent location. Ernie is the greatest! If you need any accommodations he's your man!!
- Enriquez (9/5): I had a great time - Great location Internet wasn’t working properly
- Andrés (1/5): Bad -
- KEITH (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- frances (10/5): - The Rainbow Hotel is a nice place to stay, with a great price. The staff were awesome. The room was very clean and has a small kitchenette. The view from our balcony was great and the location is perfect!
- Miguel (10/5): - Unbeatable location!
- Jordan (8/5): - The hotel is in the heart of everything. The staff is wonderful. It's the perfect no-frills hotel to enjoy the island.
- Marci (10/5): - Great location. Minerva was great. We were set up with everything we needed. Would book again.
- Christopher (10/5): - We had a great 9-day stay at the Rainbow Hotel. Here's the down low.
The good:
- Great location close to the split
- Recently renovated rooms with comfortable queen-sized beds
- Air conditioning with full control
- A great shower with plenty of hot water
- Very friendly and helpful staff
- Has it's own small section of beachfront with plenty of shade, picnic tables and sun lounges
- You can go for a dip right off the hotel dock (about 4 ft deep). We saw about 10 different fish, a nurse shark a stingray and a spotted eagle ray all in/around the dock
- Great coffee bar next door (Ice and Beans)
- We had a hinge broken on the cupboard. When brought to the attention of the staff they fixed it within 2 hrs
- They rent bikes which are in better shape than most of the others I saw on the island
- The Rainbow Restaurant is pretty decent (different management, but right there!) and is built right over the water
The bad:
- It's a noisy area. The air conditioner creates a fair bit of white noise that masks the sound from outside so this wasn't a major problem.
- Although it has a 'kitchenette', there are no plates/bowls/cutlery. So it's mostly only useful for storing leftovers and reheating
- The sun loungers are in pretty bad shape and need maintenance
We were supposed to move to a different hotel halfway through, but we enjoyed the Rainbow hotel so much we extended our stay! Would definitely stay again.
- Fowler (10/5): Exceptional - Location and staff cleaned room everyday. Wonderful Maybe 2 coffee packs instead of 1
- Gavin (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - Very clean, great location The "beachfront" chairs provided for guests were in terrible shape, broken legs, nails sticking out. The picture you see in booking.com makes it look like a great place to hang out in relax but it wasn't.
- Tracy (9/5): Very good - Breakfast? What breakfast? The older man (?owner) telling us weren’t allowed on Rainbow hotel loungers/beach. He could have been friendlier and inquired if we were guests rather than tell us we weren’t allowed there.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Rick (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location! Friendly staff
- Shannon (10/5): - The hotel was very central, staff is lovely…. I would definitely stay there again.. the beach could use a refresh
- Mary (8/5): - Location is nice. We were able to check in early. Friendly staff.
- Aimee (8/5): If you are looking for an excellent location and great value put this hotel on your list! - The staff, location, cleanliness and value were exceptional! The bed was not comfortable for us, it was too springy.
- Ruth (8/5): Even though the street was noisy the room was quiet and comfortable. It was close to everything - Excellent location. I would have liked my sheets changed
- Victor (10/5): Really good! I recommend - Really well located, next to a breakfast called Ice n beans that was amazing, 5 minutes from the sip n dip and from the lazy lizard
Staff was helpful
Nice room Everything good, exceeding expectations
- Matthew (10/5): - Fantastic! Beautiful family run business. Grounds were well kept. Felt welcomed and at home. Was bummed when we had to go. Lots of humming birds and other birds around. I didn’t get to see a Toucan but they frequent the property. Other places to stay around the area but if you are looking for a relaxing stay this is the place. They also offer a car rental for $70 US a day. They have a kitchen run by ROSE the mother and her daughter. Brilliant food. (Only for their guests) We only ate their food while staying in the cabins. If you are into cool plants they have many.
- Tara (10/5): - The staff was great! They were very helpful and kind. The room was bigger than I thought it would be from the pictures, which is always a nice surprise! It was spotless, too! It’s in the perfect location, code to everything and just a couple of blocks from the “city center” so it was quiet to sleep.
- Randy (10/5): Nice place to stay - The place is very clean and the staff are incredibly nice.
- Kathleen (10/5): Great value! - This hotel was a lovely bargain right across the street from the beach. Comfortable room, nice amenities and Ernie at the front desk was a gem and a great communicator before I even arrived. Nice restaurants within walking distance as well as the ferry terminal. The only reason I gave it a lower grade on the eco-conscious area was that I really didn’t need my towels washed daily but there was no sign to hang on the door.
- Jose (8/5): - In the middle of the action.
- Brice (10/5): - Staff is very easy to work with.
- Ronald (7/5): Good -
- Snow (10/5): Great location and friendly staff! - The Rainbow Hotel is in an excellent location, central to restaurants, tours, etc. We enjoyed eating at the Rainbow Grill (delicious shrimp!) and took advantage of the bike rentals to explore the island. The staff were super friendly and helpful, We would definitely stay here again.
- sandra (8/5): Fun week - Are stay was good nice beach right across from hotel would stay again.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeff (9/5): Superb - Rooms are nice and clean. Comfortable beds, and A/C works great. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great central location to all the hot spots.
- Alexandra (8/5): - We had a great stay at Rainbow hotel! We had an upgrade the first night which was awesome. The only small issue was that our bathroom had a bad drain smell in there. Hopefully that gets fixed soon. Otherwise everything was great!
- Cukured (10/5): Great Value! - Super comfortable beds (mattress, linens, pillows- all of it!) Great location near lots of restaurants, vendors, and the Split. Ice and Beans across the street has great coffee! Very clean and great shower. Ernie at the desk was wonderful. The ONLY dislike was the Maxwell House Coffee in the room was not great, but Ice and Beans across the street was fantastic! This is an AMAZING stay! Huge value!
- Jody (10/5): - Spacious clean rooms in an excellent location. Coffee shop across the street. Close to the ferry. The owner is extremely helpful and kind.
You have a nice view of the ocean and sunrise, however its not a good area to swim. There is a beautiful beach a short walk away. We swam there everyday.
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (8/5): Good. No complaint. - Clean and nice staff. Spacious rooms. Comfy beds. For us it was too close to town. I would have preferred to be off the main path. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the center. I found it noisy.
- ANTONIOS (10/5): - The locacion was very convenient. Close to everything but this comes with a cost. The karaoke bar next to the premises may disturb you for a few hours. The staff incredibly helpful .
The rooms really clean and safe.
- Beata (10/5): - If I come back to Caye Caulker I will stay at Rainbow Hotel.
Location ,room condition,staff excellent.
- Lindy (10/5): Excellent location and clean - The hotel is located very close to the split to swim, next to many restaurants and coffee shops. The rainbow restaurant is excellent food, service and amazing view. Also outside the hotel room door is a view of the ocean. Ernesto the manager was so helpful and recommended best tours and sightseeing and professional. The maid cleaned our room daily. The bed was so comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Also a refrigerator and coffee maker and microwave. We had water daily and any other supplies we needed as clean towels, coffee, TP, etc.
- Miguel (10/5): - Great hotel location to go anywhere on the island
- Bev (9/5): Superb -
- Vicki (10/5): - Had a great time staff very friendly and polite loved it here
- Wells (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joelle (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Super friendly staff. N/a
- Hollie (7/5): Good - The location was perfect. Ernie was very helpful when I needed help with my booking and accommodated my changing plans/needs.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (10/5): - Ernie was great from the time I reserved the room to the time I left the hotel. He was very pleasant and patient. He also answered all of my questions and welcomed us when we first arrived.
- Barbara (10/5): Great - Location and cleanliness No place to really conjugate, lounge area
- Nitzan (9/5): Superb - The location was great, the staff helped us in every request we had. The room was very big and clean, with a little kitchen inside it. The shower was great and clean and the AC worked perfectly, which is really important in the island. Highly recommended! Nothing
- Alessandro (10/5): Great place and perfect location - Perfect location in the middle of the island. The room is large and comfortable. AC and WiFi working well.
There's a little kitchen with a fridge that was great to store some food and breakfast, especially if you are going to dive early and coffees are closed. The hotel had bikes, which are the best way to get around, but they didn't have a lot and it was tough to get a hold of them (probably we didn't try hard enough as you can get them cheaply from the street).
- Coleman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert C (8/5): - The ac did not work to well and tub water going down to slow
- Jennifer (10/5): - Perfect stay in Caye Caulker. Located right on Front Street and accessible to everything. Well kept property and friendly owner. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.
- Sharon (10/5): - Great spot to stay while in Caye Caulker. Check in and check out we’re easy. The rooms are spacious and clean.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Location was perfect TV did not come on for some reason and unfortunately the office was already closed when i realized this
- Anastasia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goda (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation exceeded all expectations! Excellent location, right by the beach. Clean and comfortable rooms. And it also has its own private area by the beach. Highly recommended!
- Cory (8/5): Comfortable stay in a good location - The location of Rainbow hotel is great, with everything in walking distance (including the bars at the Split that are a couple of mins away).
The room itself is pretty basic but was a decent size and very clean, with two large double beds which were really comfortable, as well as a good shower.
The room was cleaned daily, with a top up of coffee and a water provided in the room every day which was a nice touch.
They also have beach loungers out the front of the hotel, on a small/narrow private beach which was helpful if you didn’t want to go to a bar/wanted stay close to the hotel. We had a really bad check in experience, where a relative of the owner/manager was waiting for us and as soon as we arrived she basically chucked the key at us and left. Therefore we weren’t aware of the beach loungers etc until the end of our stay.
Other than the above, the only other point to mention is that we didn’t feel that this hotel was good value for money. The rooms here are basic, and whilst the hotel calls them ‘junior suites’ with ‘stunning views of the sea’, our room on the ground floor did not have a good view of the sea at all.
Overall I would recommend staying here as it was comfortable, it was just quite basic for the price.
- Gabourel (8/5): Very good -
- Elyssia (10/5): - Everyone was so nice and they took great care of us
- Gilda (8/5): Place was perfect only problem was the WiFi was extremely slow but thank for I had my international phone - Clean location microwave also refrigerator
- Natalie (9/5): Heaven ❤️ - Everything was spot on host was extremely accommodating- we arrived early so as to get a full day on the quay our host held our luggage and had our room prepared for 12pm - which we were most grateful for so we could freshen ourselves Loved everything - love this quay and find myself returning from the uk over and over again
Disappointed I never had my fly over blue hole experience due to mixed issues - me being over relaxed, taxi dropping me at the wrong spot and tropic airlines not walking 50 yards to check two people missing off their itinerary !! Hoping for a refund. Golf carts should be regulated before it turns into San pedro and looses its laid back charm.
- Cheryl (10/5): - This was a really great place to stay. Not far from the water taxi (we could easily walk there with our rolling luggage) and in the middle of everything. Our hosts were so friendly and recommended wonderful restaurants and snorkeling. The hotel has its own beach area which is nice with hammocks as well. I would definitely stay here again.
- Monikal (10/5): - Great location to the beach . Staff very friendly and helpful
- CAROLINE (10/5): - I and my husband stayed 2 nights at Rainbow Hotel and we liked it! The property is close to the water taxi, the split and others attractions. The staff is very friendly, specially Marcy.
- Justin (9/5): Rainbow hotel in the heart of it all! - Great location in the thick of it all. Directly on main road. Understand, it’s not quiet or private. Close the storm shutters for a more peaceful sleep. It’s great for what it is.
- Athena (7/5): Pleasant - I didn't have the breakfast. The beds were great, Room was secure and air conditioning was fabulous. Given the road noise outside the room, it was surprisingly quiet once inside. The floors were very gritty with sand after room was cleaned. The shower did not drain well and I was standing in soapy water when finished my shower. The TV has some kind of flaw or is worn out center of screen. corner by window looks like something was splashed on the wall and not cleaned up.
- Annie (10/5): - Perfect location on the island and incredibly spacious bedrooms
- Moe (9/5): Very Nice Hotel in Great Location - Large room with comfortable beds, fridge, microwave. Clean and good size bathroom with large shower. Friendly and supportive staff with good suggestions. On the main road close to shops, ferry and the split is five minutes walk. Upstairs units have nice balcony. Shower area didn’t drain well, but fault of the tile man as it’s not set or slopped correctly.
- Bach (9/5): Superb -
- Marilyn (8/5): Very good - Clean & quiet in a great location. They have bike rentals at very reasonable rates but we mostly walked everywhere.
There is a loud bar next door but once inside our room it was not noticeable.
We felt we had good value for the price. No negatives.
- Jeff (9/5): Nice, clean and great location. Would stay again. - Location was great and staff was extremely nice and helpful. Many guests took cushions for loungers back to their rooms leaving none for other guests.
