Guest Reviews
- Prit (10/5): - It was a great place and very comfortable Nothing can be mentioned as such everything was perfect and just amazing
- Dean (10/5): -
- Evgeny (10/5): Wonderful property. Spacious and very clean. Two beautiful beaches nearby - We stayed for 3 days as a family of four. A wonderful property. Spacious and very clean. There are two large outdoor areas with a big barbecue and a fire pit. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is very convenient. The kitchen is very well equipped — there’s even a large air fryer.
There are two beautiful beaches nearby and a walking trail with fantastic views of the sea and beaches.
I highly recommend this property for a stay. We will definitely come back here on our next trip to Cornwall. Nothing. Everything is very good.
- Katrina (10/5): Great location and beautiful property. - The location is amazing with easy access to beautiful walks by the sea. Parking is right by the property. The property itself is bright, open and really comfortable. Nothing.
- Marie (7/5): Beautiful location, lucky with the weather. - Location very good. Good size property. Cleanliness should have been better.
- Carole (7/5): Nice holiday home plenty of room - Plenty of space and seating, light and airy feel. En suite bathrooms for each bedroom with walk in showers. Large dining table. Xtra large bed in main bedroom. Kitchen facilities good No spare toilet rolls, no dishwasher tablets and no tea bags. Entrance needs some tlc just a tidy up to give a better welcome, ie no pots with weeds! Rear patio will no doubt get a spruce up once the better weather comes.
- Alicia (9/5): Lovely house in a great location - Amazing location and beautiful well-equipped house. Our group had a great weekend stay and Jadi was lovely and very helpful. We had a great deal in the off season 😊 Paying the deposit on PayPal felt a little odd, but I got it back fine so all good. Only tiny things to note are the extra 2 beds are probably best suited for children if you’re staying longer, and a few dishwasher tabs would have been appreciated (not sure if provided in busier season).
- Dalmacio (8/5): -
- James (8/5): Great mini break in a good location. - Good central location within easy walking distance to both Porth and Lusty Glaze beaches. Communications from the hosts were good, and timely.
Property was clean and well furnished with comfy beds and decent showers. All rooms are en suite. Parking is a bit limited.
We brought our 3 children (9, 5 & 2), and the property wasn’t brilliantly set up for the youngest… some smaller cutlery/plastic plates & plastic cups suitable for children would be useful. Minor change but might make it a bit more attractive for a younger family.
- baksh (10/5): Best time since my trip to Tenerife almost equal - Everything but need clear satellite navigation Can not find any fault
Excellent location
- Virginia (9/5): Large, comfortable and clean house in a great location for Lusty Glaze - Great location near Lusty Glaze beach. Big communal spaces, kitchen well stocked - even a large air fryer which was great! Only one parking space but there is a public carpark very close by. It was great that all the bedrooms had their own en-suites, made it great for our group of friends.
- PS (10/5): Cosy - Nice and clean.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect location and lovely property - it just needs the next level of homely touch - Location. Comfort. All rooms en suite. Check in very easy. Would have liked a small welcome pack after travelling. Need basics like kitchen cleaning spray, kitchen roll and pizza or oven trays.
- Don (10/5): - Great location
Great host contact
Awesome digs Confusion with key code.. deposit not mentioned in booking.com
Once this was sorted.. perfect
- Arbie (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): Very nice stay - It was very big. Decorated very nice It needed a complementary touch. Coffee/tea etc
- Melanie (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Lovely few days away at OHANA House - would definitely return - Communication between myself and host was excellent and our issue was resolved very quickly. Accommodation met all our needs. Great size rooms and en-suites off all the bedrooms was ideal for us. Great location. Smell from the utility room into one of the bedrooms.
- Lynn (9/5): -
- christine (8/5): Great place for overnight stay - Spacious well equipped good location
- Harry (6/5): Great location, nice property, some misleading sleeping arrangements - Perfect location for Lusty Glaze beach and walking distance to centre. We liked that the property had spacious living and kitchen area with multiple bathrooms. Host was responsive to our questions. Property advertised for 8 adults however sofa bed transpired to be 2 small futons not suitable for average sized adult (would be fine for child).
- Chok (10/5): Wonderful - My parents had a very comfortable stay there and lived the location! It was very clean and beautiful
- Jake (1/5): AVOID!!! NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! Better places to stay. - close to the beach.
own parking spot making it easy to park. We were very disappointed with our stay and actually left early due to the poor standard of the property. For the price charged, the condition, cleanliness, and safety were unacceptable. The oven door was hanging off, greasy, and dirty, and although we were promised a replacement nobody ever came. The fridge smelled badly, with the host’s “solution” being a bowl of baking powder inside. Extractor fans were clogged with dust, radiators were rusty, and the TV didn’t work for normal channels – only Netflix and apps, which was never explained in advance.
The main bedroom headboard was thick with dust, and behind furniture and skirting boards were cobwebs and dirt. Several walls had damp and mould, with a strong musty smell. Half the windows said “Do Not Use” and wouldn’t open, meaning ventilation was very limited. In the bathroom, the towel rail was rusting, the shower head was coated in limescale, and there were signs of water damage.
The hosts did provide a dehumidifier, but it had to be emptied twice during our short stay, showing the extent of the damp. Sadly, everyone in our party developed bad chests and coughs. Outside, the decking was unsafe, rotting, and not screwed down properly. The entrance was unappealing with dead plants which should of just been thrown away, and the garden furniture was literally held together with parcel tape.
When we raised these issues, the reply was dismissive: “As you have now vacated the property, I don’t think it’s useful for me to comment further on the contents.” We are still waiting for a proper response. Overall, the property was unhygienic, neglected, and unsafe. It was not as advertised and absolutely not worth the nightly rate. We cannot recommend it and strongly suggest Booking.com reviews this listing.
- Tina (9/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Relaxing 4 day break - Location and layout of property. Closeness to the beaches
Quiet location
Fully equipped kitchen
each bedroom had its own on suite bathroom
nice outdoor area to sit out in Can't think of anything that I didn't like
- Carola (10/5): Heerlijke week aan zee met relaxte surfersvibe. - Fijne ruime plek op mooie locatie. Niks
- Levona (10/5): Beyond a dream come true in every respect! - Location was right by the beaches, spacious and comfy beds… great kitchen and baths! Rain showers were a dream come true!
- Alok (8/5): Very good - Excellent location and beautifully maintained property.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were most accommodating with our check in time.
Fantastic location within a 5 min stroll to either Lusty Glaze or Porth beach, and a gentle 10 min amble into town.
The three en suite bathrooms were an absolute blessing with 3 children and 4 adults there was no scrambling to who could get to the shower first after long days on the beach.
The accommodation itself was spacious and well equipped and had a lovely outside seating area to relax in and an added bonus of being a sheltered sun trap.
We will definitely be back. Nothing of any concern.
- Yogesh (6/5): It was average - Location and neighbourhood was good Minimum facilities , tired accommodation needs renovation…
Bathrooms don’t have space to put soap/ shampoo in shower room. Just one toilet roll provided per each room for 6 people sharing over 4 days not enough.
Hangers were minimum.
Irons plug was broken. Iron board needs to be replaced.
Cobweb on top of oven light.
Kitchen hood was not cleaned.
When you walk on staircase it makes loud squeaks which all house can hear.
Beds were not comfortable to sleep.
- Bogumiła (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and bright, big apartament. Close by to the beach. Fantastic area with amazing view just few steps away. Bedrooms downstairs, all with own bathroom. We came a bit earlier before check in time as it was pooring rain (we were on motorbikes) but that was not a problem, the lady who was just finishing preparing the apartament let us in 😁 next time we need to stay longer than just one night. None
- Carl (10/5): Relaxing - Location size comfort
- Gemma (7/5): Good - Location was amazing! Shower pressure was great! House was a good size for a large group. House could need some maintenance, which previous guests have already noted. Although we were 7 adults the pull out bed would have suited a child rather than our last adult. Some extra crockery would also be helpful with a large group (we only had 3 breakfast bowls). The outside table/chairs and patios could use a clean and weeding the patio would make it more appealing to sit at.
- Lois (6/5): A good space in a great location but needs work - Really spacious, location is excellent, directions clear and easy parking. Halfway through our first day we received a text listing various issues with the property and work being done including that the kitchen window was broken and wouldn't close. In the height of summer this would be fine but during our stay there was a storm and it was 5 degrees outside. It was absolutely freezing and the heating didn't switch on. The response was quite slow and not helpful. There was also a leak in the room our children were sleeping in and we had to move our baby's crib as it was dripping on them. There was no apology for any of this, which we were quite shocked by. Generally we also felt the accommodation was quite tired and the bedsheets for example have seen better days - it's a great space but definitely needs some TLC.
- Ali (9/5): Superb - Location and the house facilities
- Sow (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherril (10/5): We had a lovely stay, thankyou - Perfect location, lovely house, clean and comfortable. Excellent communication with hosts.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saravanan (9/5): Superb -
- Maxim (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, well equipped nice and warm January, good location, excellent communication from the owner. Nothing, It was perfect for our needs, and very reasonably priced.
- Zeya84 (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and great location.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - It is so warm, comfortable, spacious, and clean .
Central.but not too busy of an area.
Facilities good including excellent WiFi connection .
- Siddharth (9/5): Superb - Everything about the property is great. Location, amenities, cleanliness... Brilliant The heaters went off. The staff was very helpful and helped us get it back on within an hour. However it was very chilly until then. The definite 10 rating reduced to 9 for this reason only
- Maggie (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Home Away From Home! - We went for my granddaughter's second birthday & are so pleased we chose this home. A beautiful home-away-from-home, equipped with everything you need. Large & spacious, clean and comfortable. The host is so lovely and helpful, we felt like family. I so wish we could have stayed longer & cannot wait to return next year. Apart from Storm Darragh arriving the same weekend, which is beyond anyone's control, we loved everything even in all that wind.
- Bernadette (10/5): I will return , it such a lovely home in the best location - The location was the best bit, but the home had all you needed and information from the host was excellent. Nothing
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent - Very Clean and well equipped. Comfy beds. Peaceful location
- Catherine (8/5): Good location. Very spacious for 2 families to share with all facilities required. - The space & good sized rooms.
Good location, not far from the town.
Good price shared between 2 families.
Communication was good although a few too many ‘friendly’ reminders! However, I do understand that not everyone looks after the property as well as we would. Needs a little bit of attention and a real deep clean.
Few small issues but on the whole very good set up but they have had damp problems and flooding on the patio but they are aware that they need to be addressed and improved.
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gareth (8/5): Very good - Value for money for a winter break. Good Location for us. Dog friendly. Close to beach. Well equipped property..Parking. Good communication from owner.. Needs a bit of Tlc outside and rear bedroom a bit musky probably due to location.. Bedding could do with upgrade.. A bit aggressive on the presentation of house rules and regulations.. Ie notes in drawers about which pan belongs where.. Never seen this before.
- Keri (10/5): Exceptional - A very clean, very comfortable house in a great location. Everything you need is provided. The owners are super friendly & professional. I would definitely stay again. Nothing.
- Jade (10/5): Lovely house, great location - Lovely location and good value for money
- Katie (3/5): Could be a really lovely property, and maybe it once was but sadly it wasn't on our stay. - Amazing location, close to everything needed and less than 5 minute walk to the beach. Sadly it was very dirty, in need of lots of renovation. I wouldn't even say major renovation, but no love seems to have been put in the property for many years. Leaking roof, dirty sheets on arrival, balcony flooding, mould, general wear and tear, waited a week for a new dishwasher, very overpriced for what we got. Just to name a few. In need of a really deep clean.
- Vignesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (10/5): Lovely family break. Great location lots to do - Great location
- Stevens (6/5): Property description didn’t match reality - The house was clean although a little worn and could have done with a facelift. It was comfortable and spacious but did not meet expectations nor did it truly reflect the description. Host seemed lovely although I didn’t meet them. Too many house rules for a holiday home such as signs in the bathroom advising you to use a toilet brush, and advised of deposit deductions for braking any of the rules. Very creaky stairs which woke everyone up if you went upstairs to the living area.
The property was described as beachfront so I expected to sit on the balcony overlooking the sea., but unfortunately it just overlooked the car park. Nowhere in the property was the sea in view.
- Avi (10/5): Fantastic stay at Ohana House - A beautiful location to stay where you have two beaches walking distance Porth Beach and Lusty Glaze beach. Finding the place was difficult but best to take Glendorgal Hotel Signs. Host are brilliant and very informative. I would recommend this place to anyone to come as a family.
- Zee (9/5): Superb -
- Eliot (10/5): Exceptional - Location, clean and tidy
- Roya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trudy (6/5): Could be better!! - Location was nice although there was a private wedding on the private beach so we couldn’t use it
I liked the fact each bedroom had an on suete
The property was nice and spacious for a family My room (one near laundry) smelled musty
They had a huge folder of dos and donts
(I know you need some but that was ridiculous) its a holiday after all
The barbecue area was flooded and unusable…
We had planned a birthday bbq but was unable to have one (a small refund would have been appropriate)
They gave us a couple of half used toilet paper so we didn’t have enough for the day , had to go and find a shop/ seemed mean
It all needs a coat of paint and doesn’t look as posh as pics
- Kriti (10/5): The best stay. It's worth every penny ❤️ - The location and the house were beyond beautiful. It's a very pretty, cosy modern house literally 2-3mins from Lusty Glaze beach, easy to locate. Thank you, Jean Martine. I am definitely going to visit again ☺️ ❤️ Everything was great.
- Nikki (7/5): Good - The location is good access to several beaches and Newquay Town without being in the town. Very quiet The estate is in very poor condition. The hotel building is closed and in state of disrepair. Rotten boards on steps. Plantes outside accommodation dead and weedy.
No access to rear enclosed courtyard (no key)
Notes from owners everywhere, on fridge in dishwasher, against switches, in toilets. Not relaxing at all, worried about touching anything. The property is tired, lots of repairs and leaks evident.
The process for deposit was not easy, and neither was charge
for dog, I would suggest they are not dog friendly and compared to others I have stayed in.
Could be lovely, but needs some reinvestment abit like the estate itself, just because you're in lusty glaze, you need to have homely feel too.
- Tamsin (7/5): Accommodation would have been lovely, but the passive aggressive notes left a somewhat sour note to the stay - Great location, close to dog friendly amenities.
Great to have 3 en suite bedrooms, and the communal areas were light and bright. Unfortunately due to flooding, we were unable to use the patio, but this would have been a lovely space to hang in the evening. Pre-stay communication and instructions were clear, albeit somewhat over the top (receiving messages through booking.com, text, what’s app and voice notes - many of which were duplicate)
Prior to arrival we were told that a previous tenant had caused some damage and so the property owners were wary of other guests.
On arrival we noticed there were a lot of laminated notes around the property with rules on how to behave (including “don’t jump in the bed” and a how to clean your toilet) this made us feel as though they didn’t really want guests in their house. It took away from some of the comfort of the stay.
The day before we checked out, we then received a message via booking.com asking us to leave a review, but only if it was 10/10 - anything less and we were to message them privately. This goes against what we stand for, as we believe reviews should be honest and are important to us when we are choosing accommodation.
- Stuart (10/5): Fantastic place and fantastic hosts nothing a problem - Location and the lodgings Nothing
- Natalie (8/5): Easy, well communicated, and peaceful stay. - The location, size of property and ensuite bathrooms were great! The patio for a bbq wasnt available but that was sue to weather damage and they did tell us beforehand.
- Leila (10/5): Lovely long weekend in great location - The house is very big and is equipped with everything you need! The location is excellent. The hosts communication was above and beyond. The upstairs patio was flooded and out of use! This was communicated by the house beforehand. It couldn’t be helped because of the weather.
- Lisa (9/5): Fantastic location with great access to Porth and Lusty Glaze beaches 🤩 - Great property with everything that you need.
- Flynn (10/5): Exceptional - The common living space was open plan, spacious and comforably housed 8 guests. Great rooms all with ensuites and comfortable beds. Loved our stay!
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Open living space. All rooms were spacious. All the bedrooms had large good quality ensuites. Comfortable beds.
Good location to the beach and the headland. Not far from the town and local shops.
Enough space for a large family of 7 like ours. 2 adults and 5 kids under the age of 15.
Overall a very enjoyable stay
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Amazing place - The unique lay out of the house was excellent, owners went above and beyond.
Stunning location and house Everything was perfect
- Gemma (10/5): Fun, relaxing mums weekend, beautiful scenic walks, great food, fun company facilitated in a great venue. - Great position, really large and spacious. The social area is open plan so the group can all be together but the bedrooms offer privacy and their own bathrooms.
- Jennie (8/5): Nice stay - The house was lovely. They had everything we needed and it heated up very fast once the heating was turned up. The inordinate amount of rules everywhere! Even on opening the firdge!!! I hated the hugely long emails of rules, signs posted in every bathroom. Please, please choose who you let the house too. If you want kids who need all the rules please do not rent to families who know how to behave. The tv did not work and eventually I managed to open the remote and put in new batteries. Could not get the dvd to work - a book of instructions would be great. Could only get netflix. For those fluent in apps and computerese it was probably easy, but not for me. Car parking although ok for one car was a breeze, for two or more there was supposed to be a parking fee, payable to the hotel - only after I had rung them several times before we went to arrange this then found out that the hotel was closed when we got there it was annoying. Also being asked that if we left early to telephone so the cleaner could go in early was something I really did not feel like doing,
Nice house, too many rules.
- Lindsay (9/5): Great accommodation and location - The property was very clean and cosy. The location good. The host was very pleasant and ensured we had milk croissants and tea and coffee There felt as if there was to many rules which made us quite uncomfortable. Also first time I had been asked for deposit but after leaving host returned it to us really quickly
- Anonymous (9/5): We had a lovely stay at Ohana’s house.House is big, has all the facilities you need, very cosy and has amazing views. I - The property has an amazing location .
- Faizy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb -
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Best stay - Beautiful house very spacious comfortable and clean great location with fantastic views
- Kim (8/5): Very good - Comfortable spacious bedrooms. The location to the beach and views from the hotel headland are great. The extra deposit we had to pay was a turn off. The owner's long messages of extensive rules and the large amount of "do not" signs around the house are overwhelming. The downstairs and outdoor areas are rundown, mouldy and very musty smelling.
- Agita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, all bedrooms en-suite
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Great location, good design of property with a nice layout, responsive host. We enjoyed being there. - Bright and airy. So convenient for the dog. 3 en-suite bedrooms and walking distance from some lovey beaches. It is not in bad condition but it could do with a freshening up of the paint work. The standing water and loose bards in the back outside seating area spoiled what would have been a fabulous outdoor space.
- Bunmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Very well equipped accommodation, clean and cosy.
The owner was great with communication and information.
The location was perfect, quiet, and very close to Porth and Lusty glaze beaches.
Would thoroughly recommend.
- Senem (8/5): Very good -
- Nasima (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tommy (10/5): Stunning, picturesque, homely, clean and family friendly. Cannot wait to come back!! - Where do I start? The property is stunning, en-suite facilities in all rooms, spacious living room / kitchen. Family friendly, with baby gates provided if needed. Located in a quiet spot with stunning views less than 30 seconds walk. Would definitely come back and cannot wait to do so! Felt really at home and comfortable.
- Rekha (10/5): Excellent and peaceful - Cleanliness Nothing
- Rajat (10/5): Great place with amazing neighbourhood. - The place was cozy, clean and we'll ventilated. Nothing.
- Shaun (9/5): Nice place in a great location near Lusty Beach and Porth. - Nice that the property was on 2 floors and the bottom floor had a small garden area (aswell as the top floor).
- Tina (10/5): absolutely fabulous - location and it’s very comfortable n/a
- Komal (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely, cosy stay at Ohana House! A perfect place for a family vacation. Bright airy house, close to the fabulous beaches. Jean was a super fantastic hostess, so lovely, friendly and available to help with any queries! Highly recommend staying there :) Nothing!
- Loraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- G (10/5): Great place with great access and most importantly left home but this felt like home. -
- Ashin (10/5): One of a Kind.❤️❤️ LOVED IT. - Amazing!!!! Nice location with an amazing view and so relaxing. The owner was super friendly and you have the best sunset view. the house is neat and beautiful inside.
This exceeded my expectations all the way. absolutely nothing to hate.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
