- Joseph F (10/5): This is a lovely boutique hotel with great staff in the old city. - Lovely boutique hotel in the old walled city. Comfortable rooms. Pleasant helpful staff. Shannon was the best! Good breakfast. No parking on site. Busy road with no loading or unloading area for check-in and check-out.
- LOUISE (10/5): 10/10 - Everything from staff to little touches 10/10. Manager handled an issue with my booking so efficiently and easily Nothing

- Alice (10/5): Brilliant Stay at Shipquay - We spent 2 nights at the Shipquay. We can honestly say that we had a great stay. It is right in the centre of Derry and we were able to walk to everything. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There were tea coffee and hot chocolate making facilities available in the room with the nice touch of them supplying fresh milk by calling reception. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Lisa who gave us lots of tips on what to do and was always friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was top class. Breakfast was served to your table. There was a great choice and again delicious. We would recommend this hotel There was nothing we didn't like
- John (10/5): A great boutique hotel in a great location with great staff! - Room was very clean and comfortable with a great view of the Guildhall. The location is old city center within the walls. Walkable to everything. Breakfast and dinner was excellent! Breakfast doesn't start until 8am (we are early risers). Parking is in a public lot that is a few blocks away.

- Dawn (7/5): - Location very central, staff friendly and helpful, room was clean. Loved the complimentary Prosseco on arrival. Was a tad noisy, could hear music clearly from the bar below which wasnt ideal, but given location some noise was to be expected, and what sounded like chairs being moved across the floor in dining room in the morning.
- Jacqueline (8/5): -
- Gordon (8/5): Nice hotel for visiting Derry with excellent restaurant. - Good location with easy parking (5 mins walk away); excellent dinner and breakfast in a nice restaurant; clean room; very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were slightly smaller than expected. But comfortable.
- Maria (10/5): Lovely and highly recommend - Everything. friendly staff, complimentary glass of bubbly upon arrival and then again a mimos at the wonderful breakfast. Dinner also available in the lovely bar restaurant on main floor.
- James Craig (8/5): Lovely stay with friendly staff - Wine reception was lovely. Staff were very friendly. Bathroom was a good size. Another gall of wine at breakfast was nice.
Receptionist looked after our coats/bags whilst we went shopping. Bedroom was slightly dated but confortable anyway.
Fix the steep hill outside!!!!
Would have prefared a breakfast buffet where you help yourself bur breakfast was still good
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely stay, can’t wait to revisit - Location, and the staff were so friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The friendliest welcome from the manager and the lady at the front desk.
Our room was spotless and spacious.
Breakfast was exceptional! Party I was with all had different breakfasts and all were so delicious!
Perfect location for our stay to go to event in millennium forum.
- Jordan (10/5): Very nice stay. - Very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ran out of hand cream and conditioner
- Ann (7/5): Enjoyable break I. A great boutique hotel - The property was very clean and staff were ex polite , helpful & knowledgeable
Especially Shannon on reception , Sge was very clued into our needs as a disability couple The location .. the entrance or to gain access in mid if steep hill

- Denise (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay, it was our second time there. We will definatly stay again. - Staff were lovely and attentive. Food in restaurant, bar and the breakfast was really tasty. A nice touch was the glass of prosecco on arrival. We also had a room upgrade which was unexpected and a lovely surprise as it was our wedding anniversary. We had no complaints. However if travelling by car parking is a bit of a walk.
- Deirdre (10/5): -
- Ivan (10/5): -
- Jean-Francois (6/5): - The room was small with a small window looking out on an enclosed yard
- Maciej (10/5): -
- G2700STandyk (10/5): Outstanding 10/10 - Wow, nothing to fault, staff incredible, breakfast perfect every choice on the menu I could want, really decent orange juice. Clean welcoming rooms
- Agnes (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): I’d stay again in a heartbeat. - The hotel was very central to shops and the Millennium Forum which we were going to that evening. The greeting at reception from Brendan and Brooke was lovely, the bubbles were a lovely gesture!! The staff couldn’t have been any nicer and we had a first class service experience. Breakfast was good, dinner they evening tasty and plentiful and the bed super comfy, the room nice and cosy and not a bit of noise .. bliss !! The bathroom needed as towel rail for hand towels, I wasn’t a fan of the draping from the bathroom cabinet. There was also a big black stain on the back of my toilet when we arrived and no toilet brush to clean it. I know it’s a former bank but I didn’t like the pillar in our room but that’s just being picky.
- Monica (10/5): Lovely relaxing weekend. Hotel staff very helpful. - Very clean No problems with property
- Rebecca (10/5): We will definitely be back! - The staff were exceptional, we went for a hen party and they greeted us with free champagne. They were all friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was gorgeous!
- michaeltno4 (10/5): Lovely Spring Break in Derry. - My wife and I had a lovely one day Spring Break at the Shipquay Hotel. On arrival we were given a class of prosecco and upgraded to a bigger room.
We had a beautiful dinner in the restaurant with excellent service throughout.
The next morning the breakfast was really good with everything brought to you by very attentive staff.
Whilst in the room we had particulary nice cups of tea because fresh milk was brought up to our room from reception. A really nice touch.
Overall we had a great time. All the staff were most friendly and we would certainly go back.
- BartleyC (10/5): A wonderful second stay - We must extend our gratitude to everyone at Shipquay for our recent stay celebrating our wedding anniversary. Megan handled the booking over the phone, and she was extremely kind and helpful. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Lisa. She was so friendly and welcoming and the prosecco was a wonderful touch. We enjoyed a lovely chat with her. Receiving an upgraded room made the occasion even more special. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The dining staff and barman were lovely and sociable. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast.
Shipquay Hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel. Being so central makes it a wee gem! It is close to two shopping centres, a delightful craft village, the Millennium Forum, the Guild Hall, numerous museums and great cafés. This was our second time staying there and it most definitely will not be our last!
- James (10/5): Enjoyable. - The location of the hotel, it was right in the heart of the city.
The food was excellent as was the service at the bar, with prices being reasonable.
Above all was the friendliness of all the staff throughout the hotel, they just couldn't do enough to help us during our stay.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Derry Coty. The weather.

- 500eimearr (10/5): A hidden gem! - I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and service at the hotel. It was 5 star from start to finish. Staff were second to none helping with recommendations and couldn’t do enough for us. The location is great and the little touches like prosecco on arrival and water in the room make all the difference. A fantastic breakfast was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend.

- imeldam425 (10/5): Genuinely friendly staff . Best cocktails ever ! - Beautiful old bank building built in 1895 . Genuinely lovely welcome from Shannon and the team . Upgraded , without having asked . Couldn’t get a better spot so close to the City but noise free . Climbed down the stairs to the Ship and Quay to have the best dark and stormy cocktail I’ve ever had . Free late check out, tasty breakfast included , couldn’t recommend it highly enough
- tarquin (9/5): well positioned, nicely decorated and very welcoming - great position, superb staff - very welcoming and helpful. ideal for our visit and a good price for an upmarket stay.
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Eddie (8/5): - Staff and location No parking and limited lounge area
- Emma (3/5): Poor value for money - Good location. Nice bar. Tired, basic room for price paid. No luxuries. Breakfast didn’t start until 8am which is strange so had to leave without.
- Tracey (10/5): One night stay, very enjoyable, staff excellent. - Breakfast first class, everything on the menu a person could possibly want, location very central, everything within walking distance. We found no faults with our recent stay
- Martina (10/5): Fabulous time and a wonderful way to celebrate a big birthday - Excellent location central to shops. Have stayed here before and it didn’t disappoint. Staff extremely helpful and friendly lovely little touches of Prosecco on arrival and little treats in the room. Food is excellent and the breakfast was beautiful would recommend to family and friends 1000 times over ❤️ Nothing to complain about
- Amy (9/5): Will definitely be back, couldn't fault anything - Superb
- Ellen (10/5): Great Staff - Unfortunately our stay was cut short, but the staff were more than accommodating, from the minute we arrived. While we didn’t get long, the hotel was gorgeous. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and location was perfect. Thank you Nothing
- jloughran45 (10/5): A warm and welcoming stay. - Just had an amazing time at the Shipquay Hotel. From the warm and friendly welcome at reception, and the complimentary glass of prosecco, to the fabulous breakfast, which was served to the table., everything about this hotel was welcoming. Every staff member we interacted with were charming and attentive.
If you are looking for a local welcome with excellent accommodation and food, right in the heart of Derry City this is the place to book!
- Paul (9/5): -
- liz (8/5): - location and pleasant staff9
- Jenny (8/5): - Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff very welcoming. Lovely breakfast, could not fault it. We will be back. Parking is a little tricky but that's not a big deal. TV unblocked
- Gary (10/5): -
- Theofilos G (8/5): Heating problem - Perfect breakfast!!!!!! Heating was not working.Lisa at the reception did nothing about this. Not even offered to change the room. Paul , next shift after Lisa, came at the room and solved the problem!
- Paul (8/5): -
- E9740NUoliviat (10/5): Lovely hotel & lovely staff! - We've stayed in Shipquay hotel a few times over the years and every time it is such a lovely experience. You are greeted with a glass of bubbly and the staff always have a bit of craic and chat with you. The rooms are also gorgeous and we treat ourselves to food & cocktails every time we come and it's always amazing!
This particular occasion that we visited on was for a birthday and the staff put such effort into making it special for us. We'll find another excuse to be back soon!
- Finnegan (9/5): -
- EC3005 (10/5): Fabulous - Warm and friendly welcome with a glass of bubbles. The staff are really lovely, our room was spotless and well equipped ..bottled water, toiletries, tea, coffee etc. Bed was really comfortable. Cosy bar with great cocktails. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service were exceptional. The breakfast was cooked to order with a great selection and was delicious
- Elaine (10/5): Fabulous - Warm welcome on arrival, glass of bubbles, staff really friendly. Lovely bar and the food and service in the restaurant were fantastic. Breakfast was exceptional, the nicest I've had in any hotel. Room was spotless and very well equipped, water, toiletries etc Cannot find fault, room view was onto a brick wall, however this didn't reduce enjoyment of our stay at all.
- fenton (10/5): Fantastic! - The staff were very friendly, professional and couldnt do enough for us. We love relaxing in their bar and the food is the best in the city. Breakfast was fantastic. Can't wait to book our next break. What a treat! That we had to go home lol
- Yvonne (9/5): -
- Tom (8/5): - The overall room was nice with city view. The staff was great and breakfast was also very good. The room has multiple windows in the room I stayed in and had roll down shades that didn’t block out all the light. There was street noise as being close to street hard not to.
- David B Toomey (9/5): An absolute pleasure from beginning to End - The Hotel was very centrally located within walking distance of almost everything. Located less than 10 mins walk from Guild Hall and Central Bus Station.
Every single member of Staff from when we first arrived at reception, to where we ate breakfast and to the girl we met on the corridor cleaning the rooms were all super friendly and efficient, tending to all our needs. The parking in Derry is a nightmare. Max of 1 hr in most city center locations, parking near hotel is on street parking with 1 hr max and there are plenty of traffic wardens from 9 to 5 to dish out tickets. However, we were able to pre park each day in a parking lot about 10 mins away at Bishops Gate costing 7.20 pounds per day and free overnight
- Shaun (10/5): - We recently celebrated our silver wedding anniversary and on arrival we were upgraded to the silver suite apparently the best in the hotel plus a glass of bubbly for all guests on arrival really makes it a personal touch. Staff are all lovely and we will definitely be back.
- Tracy Ann (10/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): Very comfortable stay in a central location - very good breakfast - Brilliant location in central Derry, very friendly staff. Very close to the iconic Undertones mural Nothing
- Cathy (9/5): -
- Claire (9/5): Great Hotel in a great location - Super location. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. N/A
- Enda (10/5): Excellent service and staff couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful. - Small and easy to navigate. Really nice decor and ideally located for a city center break Really being picky here but no parking was the only down fall.
- Roberta (9/5): Fabulous stay with the best company - Fantastic stay. We arrived a little early and were able to check in to our room. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Complimentary drink on arrival. The location was very central for shopping and restaurants. Would definitely recommend. Nothing everything was super
- Kenny (10/5): -
- Christina (9/5): - Amazing staff and service. Our family room's bedroom felt a bit clinical and the view of the brick wall was less than ideal.
- Pauline (9/5): Enjoyable stay. Would have no hesitation in returning - Great location and friendly helpful staff. A minute walk to the millennium forum so was ideal for us. Pleasant restaurant and had an enjoyable dinner and breakfast One minor complaint. Room was a bit too warm for us. I wasn’t able to open the window during the night but did manage the following morning after some effort. Was very stiff though.
- John (8/5): Great boutique hotel in great location - Staff where brilliant Nothing
- Brenda (10/5): -
- Carol (10/5): Wonderful stay, cant wait to come back! - The staff were so welcoming, the room was spacious and clean, the restaurant and service outstanding and breakfast delicious. Good quality ingredients and extras like water and home made treats in room along with tea/coffee tray were welcomed. My only suggestion would be a lobby or area to sit during the day and relax. As the cocktail bar didn't open until 5pm there wasn't really anywhere to go except room. It would have been nice the following morning after check out to be able to sit with a coffee in a lounge or designated area.
- R9594LIjoannem (10/5): Great hotel and staff will be back again - Thank you for a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived until we left we were well looked after by all staff we came across.
The food was lovely for dinner and we really appreciated being in the separate room as it can be a bit noisy for our mum who is hard of hearing so we were able to chat and have some quality time together as a family.
Breakfast great, all staff so very friendly and accommodating. This is our second time staying with you and it won’t be our last.
- Bliddyhell (10/5): Genuine, friendly customer service - The customer service started a week ahead of our visit, with a courtesy call to check if we needed any information or special services. Then, during our four- night stay, every member of staff was a delight. A special mention of Brendan, Megan and Lisa at reception, who really made us feel at home. Looking forward to a return visit :-)
- maevem236 (10/5): Girls night in Derry - We had a lovely stay yesterday and today. The hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to all shops and bars. Staff in hotel especially the young lady on reception yesterday around 2pm. She helped us and advised us on places best to park. The hotel is very clean and we had great service throughout our stay. It was a girl's trip. Myself and my husband would now like to visit Derry in a few months and will not be going past this hotel. Will look forward to my next visit in Derry. Thank you to all staff for making our visit a pleasant one.
Many thanks

- Christine (7/5): Stay was good, would of liked a better spacious room , staff lovely 👌🏼 - Breakfast was good ,bacon too dry and tough ,
Staff were lovely , bar staff also very friendly 👌🏼 Had a superior room as an upgrade,it felt to closed in as we were on 3rd floor ,hairs were still in bathroom cabinet drawer and very little shower washes were in the bottles,no shampoo in bottle at all😡
- Caroline (10/5): Chilled and an amazing hotel. Deserves all the great reviews. - Beautiful and very classy hotel. A very relaxing stay. Staff were so amazing. We loved it and will stay again. Great location as well. Breakfast was really substantial. Not applicable
