Rafael (8/5): - Boa localização. Apesar do número de pessoas no dormitório, quarto silencioso e camas com cortina, tomada, luz e "cabeceira". Além disso, eles ofereciam uma grande variedade de serviços como passeios, shuttles, lavanderia etc. O hostel é um restaurante, então qualquer pessoa tem acesso aos quartos. Tive meu celular furtado da minha cama no 3º andar do beliche após sair para escovar o dente. A culpa e responsabilidade foram minhas, mas reflete a segurança do hostel. Depois, rastreei o celular e estava em uma cidade no interior do país, provavelmente indicando que tenha sido furtado por um local que teve acesso ao quarto e não por outro turista. Os funcionários do hostel não se dispuseram a me ajudar ou a checar as câmeras das áreas comuns (provavelmente com receio de assumirem alguma responsabilidade). Fora isso, poderia ter mais chuveiros para o número de pessoas no quarto.

Atanas Atanasov (7/5): It is not for backpackers - I stayed here during Easter because it was one of the few places with availability – which is probably not a coincidence. The price was quite reasonable for the period (around €21), and the staff were very kind and helpful. However, the place feels different from a typical hostel – there’s no shared kitchen and it lacks the kind of atmosphere you’d usually expect. There is also only one bathroom for around 25 people, which can be inconvenient. Another practical detail: the power outlets in the room are difficult to use with adapters, as the light switch is placed right next to them and blocks a proper connection. Considering most guests are likely using adapters, this is something that could easily be improved. Overall, it’s an option for a short stay when choices are limited, but not quite the classic backpacker experience. P.S. A funny observation – some of the guests at this hostel were deciding between a shuttle or an Uber to Guatemala City, while I was simply planning to take a chicken bus. Sometimes the way you travel says enough on its own 🙂

Bem localizado também. A vibe do hostel é diferente e passa um ótimo acolhimento. O rooftop toca música até 22h e depois disso, silêncio total. Tinha lavanderia com custo extra e me ajudou muito. Os preços (estadia e comidas no restaurante) não são baratos, mas já fui sabendo disso.

Er zijn voldoende mogelijkheden tot douchen en toilet. Je hebt privacy in je dorm ondanks dat het grote kamers zijn. Fijn dat je 24u kan inchecken, de mensen achter de receptie zijn vriendelijk. Het eten was vrij duur. Omdat het ook een restaurant is wordt je vaak gevraagd of je wat wil bestellen, voelt dan soms wat bezwaarlijk om in de gezamenlijke ruimte te zitten zonder consumptie. Doordat het ook een restaurant is lijkt het me wat moeilijker om contact te maken met andere reizigers.

You can rent towels. The space is clean. If you want to stay in a chill and quiet place this is not the best option since all the rooms are next to the main yard and there is music playing loud until 10pm. I believe the breakfast, even if good, is expensive, as well as the rooms (you may end up sleeping in the third level of a bed!).

Mariella (9/5): tolles Hostel- schlechter Shuttleservice - Die Lage ist super! Mitten im Zentrum von Antigua, umgeben von wunderschönen Cafés, und alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Die Terrasse ist eins der Highlights des Hotels- man hat einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf die umliegenden Berge und Vulkane. Die Schlafräume sind zwar groß (ca. 21 Betten) aber es ist überraschend leise und sehr komfortabel. Es wird auch mehrfach am Tag sauber gemacht und es gibt kostenloses gefiltertes Trinkwasser. Sehr sehr freundliches Personal!!! Wenn es ein Problem gab, wurde sich sofort darum gekümmert. Der Manager ist auch sehr sehr freundlich, und man kann sich bei Problemen immer an ihn wenden. Ich habe über die Unterkunft einen Shuttle vom Flughafen Guatemala-Stadt zum Hostel für 400Q gebucht. Mit dem Flugzeug wäre ich eigentlich 00:30am angekommen, der Flug hatte sich aber verspätet, was ich der Unterkunft auch mitgeteilt hatte- leider hat der Fahrer nicht auf mich gewartet und ich stand alleine nachts 3am auf Flughafen und wusste nicht, wie ich SICHER nach Antigua kommen sollte. Letztendlich habe ich einen Uber genommen, und der sehr nette Manager des Hotels hat sich auch bei mir entschuldigt und mir das Geld erstattet…. Trotzdem würde ich empfehlen, den Shuttle nicht zu buchen, da es bei Flügen häufiger zu Verspätungen kommt 🤷‍♀️ mit Uber ist es dann doch sicherer und flexibler

Due to the staff’s irresponsible attitude, I missed my planned departure to another city and had to postpone my trip until the next day. The manager offered no help and showed no interest in resolving the problem.

Fernandez (9/5): - El personal muy amable al menos los del bar y cocina. Las camas cómodas y los baños limpios. El hostal es muy centrico, restaurantes y cafés estan muy cerca. Por las tardes es muy cómodo sentarse en la terrasa o en el patio. Lo recomendaria mucho.
Ryan (9/5): Good value, great location, decent facilities. - The facilities are nice and very much look like what is described in the listing. The bathroom was clean, had good water pressure, and had warm water. The bed in the dorm room is very high up, you might need shoes as the ladder bites into your feet a tad. Not a dealbreaker at all just something to be aware of.
Meghan (9/5): Extended twice, stayed 6 days! - This was one of my favourite hostels in Guatemala! It's so well designed/beautiful, and believe it or not the dorm beds have incredible privacy despite being 18 person dorm rooms lol. Showers were great with hot water, there's also water jugs all over the property for you to refill your own bottle. The only reason I gave it a 9/10 is that the rooftop is open to the public and often has large party buy-outs, which means guests can't sit up there. And WOW do you ever want to sit up there - it's stunning!! I understand it's good for their business to have customers come eat and drink, so it's hard to complain about, but I do wish even a small section was saved just for hostel guests. See above re: rooftop.

dutra (8/5): - Me pareció excelente el lugar en general, solo que me parece que estaría bien avisar con anterioridad a las personas que les tocan las camas altas (ya que son muy altas) y personas con vertigo o algún inconveniente motriz no podrían subirlas. Por otro lado me parece fundamental que los menú del servicio estén español y no solo en ingles (como lo están en los QR) considerando el país de origen. El resto me pareció muy correcto. Los espacios comunes, la atención del personal y la privacidad de las camas me pareció lo mejor. La altura de algunas camas y su acceso.

Noor (1/5): Acatenango tour scam - We booked the Acatenango tour with Adra Hostel. Their communication about this was already really unclear. Yet we decided to book with them for four people. One of the four people arrived two days later. When she asked them if the reservation was already ok they told her she still had to pay her part. The result: we paid 500 Quetzal too much and they refused to give this money back. It feels like we were scammed by them. They didn't care about solving their mistake.
Bárbara (10/5): - I don’t usually stay at hostels and was greatly impressed by Adra. The hostel itself is beautiful, the staff was super friendly, and the rooms are comfortable and new. They organize activities, live music, DJ nights and have awesome drink specials. Really nothing, everything was really great, to the point that I missed Adra for the rest of my trip through Guatemala.
