- Valle (4/5): Nice staff but need a lot of work - Locations Rooms need to be remodeled
- Rosa (4/5): - The property is in very bad conditions, no restaurant in the facility, the patio is used as storage. It needs a lot of repairs
- Maricruz Ruiz (5/5): -
- Yadira (2/5): - Horrible. The decoration and location are great however the hotel itself is run down and needs major updates. The room was super dark. No AC and the rooms get so hot, the bathroom shower floods. The hotel towels were stained, had ruff bedsheets with only one pillow. The doors are hard to close and open. It had it listed as having a restaurant and upon arrival the restaurant was closed for awhile. We were the only guest and they always had the hotel entrance locked. We had to ask each time we left the hotel and came in to let us in. This made us feel trap rather than secured.
- Emilio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bonnie (10/5): - Family hotel love everyone
- ERIC (2/5): - Needed to leave the place because someone did try to start an extortion, only hotel’s staff had my personal information, not trusted place at all… please read previous reviews… unfortunately we didn’t, however, we realized someone else lived the same situation in this hotel in the past, also very poor condition, fan did not work, bathroom got clogged, doors didn’t close correctly so no privacy… Expedia must verify places posted in its site and be and hold accountable overall.
- Ruben (6/5): Pleasant - Overall decor Noise during the entire night, too bright in the room from light coming from the outside (reception area). They should have blackout curtains. Did not sleep well because of this.
- Eduardo (2/5): - This was by far the worst stay. Bad attitude of employees, no water and you need to go find someone to get access to go out of the hotel.
Stay away!
- Valeria (2/5): - While the location is good, walkable to the restaurants, the hotel needs maintenance:
The bathroom were extremely old, old towels with wholes, and old showerhead..
It was cold at night (for me) and they had only 1 blanket in the room.
- FERNANDO (2/5): - Not a nice place to stay
- Leonella (10/5): - Loved the staff! Checked in late at night and was received and settled in immediately. My mother was traveling with me and forgot a pair of sunglasses in the room at checkout. The hotel was closed when we realized what happened but the following day we contacted them and they had saved the sunglasses for us. Can’t express how thankful I was for such great hospitality! I’ll book again
- Alfonso (4/5): - It’s showed as 3 and a half stars but in reality is a two star , they give you a pad lock to secure the door I would never go back
- Elba (10/5): - It’s a beautiful rustic place!! The Temazcal it’s a nice experience!!
- Juan (1/5): Horrible experience, terrible rooms, and worst of all, bad attitude from the management and owners. - Location. We had to leave in the morning and we couldn't because we had been locked in by the night attendant and when we tried to leave, we couldn't. The bed was almost to the bottom of the floor. It was super hot on that day and there is no air conditioning in the rooms so it was unbearable because we could not open the windows and the only option we had in order to survive the night, was to open the front doors so that the heat would kind of dissipate, what a terrible experience! Besides that, there were numerous weird and strange noises in the hotel and we saw some strange shadows and stuff. We will never star at this place. I asked to speak with the owners or manager and nobody cared. We had booked our stay for 5 nights and checked out after a few hours - and they refused to give us a refund because they said "the reservation was for 5 nights". Horrible experience, terrible rooms, and worst of all, bad attitude from the management and owners. I will never stay there nor will I recommend this place to anybody that I know!
- Luz (8/5): - Its a beautiful house center Tlaquepaque jalisco. Close to El parian. Safe neighborhood
- Iris (2/5): No recomendado - Una experiencia muy desagradable!!
No avía almuédas, cobertores, tuallas, ni agua caliente muy pésimo servicio mi reservación fue para dos noches y no aguantamos nos fuimos a otro hotel.
- Mendoza (7/5): Good -
- Jean (1/5): Bad - Cleaning
- Lachaud (1/5): Hotel a retirer de vos propositions - Not breakfast in thy hotel Tout
- Teresa (1/5): The place had a lot of empty rooms no spa service, or temazcal. - Add on booking noted we could access room anytime before 8 pm. When we arrived they stated not til 2 pm and charged and extra $500 pesos to enter the room earlier.
- JOSELUIS (10/5): - Theme Decoration
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (4/5): Disappointing - Grand old hotel in the past, I'm sure but it seems to be a bit run down. Also the bedsheets were not clean.
I think the staff were pleasant but not too competent.
- Abdelkarim (1/5): This place is not a vacation stay, it’s a horror location. I do not recommend anyone to come here. - It was in Tlaquepaque Someone entered our room while we were on a tour. Clothing was left on the bed. Incident was brought to staffs attention, not even an apology was given.
We were locked inside the hotel one morning because their receptionist staff ran late. We had no way out and I almost lost my tour to the Jose Cuervo express. I was very upset.
- Sekai (6/5): - The bathroom condition was disappointing. The shower area specifically needed maintenance.
- Jorge (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- Juan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Marinee (1/5): Bad - Nothing at all, it is horrible. The location is good but that's about it. I didn't like anything, it's old in a very bad way, the walls are peeling inside of the rooms, no soap, old beds, dirty wet towels, no windows, hair all over. The rooms remain open thru the night, it is scary. You can hear everything the workers day at the reception. They charge for the temazcal and the jacuzzi is all dirty.

- Katherine (1/5): Awful, avoid. - Nice decoration. I booked this hotel because I wanted to use the Temazcal but it was unavailable. The shower was dirty, the towels were stained, the bottles of shampoo were old and previously used. There was a really loud noise coming from the room above me, in another building, I asked the receptionist if I could change rooms. She said there were no other roooms but that the noise would probably stop by evening. It was still going at 10pm, it was very loud, she called her manager and was told there was nothing that could be done that a "crazy guy" owns the building next door. I then had to leave to find another hotel, she nor the manager seemed to care that I didn't have a place to stay for the night. The stayed elsewhere and returned for my bag in the morning, the manager offered no apology and certainly no refund.
- juan (10/5): - Small quiet and unique
- Lars (8/5): Cozy old small hotel with a lot of atmosphere. - Great value for what we paid. The hotel has so much atmosphere and very cozy. Staff is so friendly. Great location. No windows in the room, which we understood is pretty normal for this type of small hotel in that area. Because of the low rate, I did not expect the hotel to be maintained fully. It is an old building, so it takes a lot to keep it up. The rooms were clean and would stay there again.
- Judith (8/5): Great place to spend 1night, staff is very attentive, but rooms are too crowded. - Location was great walking distance to downtown. It’s a bit outdated, the rooms are too crowded, and towels need to be replaced.
- Deborah (2/5): Uncomfortable - Floor was filthy. Filthy towels. Had to use the bathrobe to fry off from shower. No hand towel or washcloth. Dark, gloomy. No review of accessibility es when registering. I had to ask twice for them to modify my taxi to the airport. They tried with the shabby chic look. 🙁 See above.
- Luis (9/5): Superb - Location and display of the property we plan to come back again For the date is to hot not air central
- Refugio (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvia (10/5): - Staff was amazing no complaints
- Norma (8/5): Good -
- Felix (9/5): Superb - Beautiful place, good location Needs better 🛌 beds
- Rene (10/5): Very awesome . - The staff is amazing . There’s no air conditioning .
- Ursula (8/5): Very good - I had trouble with the very high pillows out of foam..and could not sleep well
- Anonymous (1/5): not comfortable - location it was too hot, we had to leave the hotel because there was no a/c
- Guillermo (1/5): Bad - the decoration the rooms don’t match with the fotos, There are dead cockroaches in the room…
the water of the shower is so dirty… color yellow
- Araceli (8/5): - I will definitely be back
- Luis (8/5): Very good - This hotel is beautiful and colorful, the temazcal was a big plus, great location Our bed was not comfortable, and the rooms have ceiling fans instead of AC, it was hot at times
- Michael (8/5): - - we were on the road side so it was quite noisy
- lovely big bed
- staff were friendly
- the kitchen had closed so no breakfast but I think they should at least put on some coffee. It's not that cheap a place.
- Gutierrez (10/5): Exceptional - Yes perfect for relaxing We need assistance to open the front door
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alfred (9/5): Superb - Very decorative with Mexican style decor. No complimentary breakfast, water or coffee.
- Jessica (1/5): The worst stay as I wasted a lot of time making them refund me the money they had overcharged me for - The location was near the downtown area. I booked a 2nd night - and they overcharged me. According to the sales person (Blanca) this was with the authorization of the owner. When I asked for my receipt, the receipt was for the lower price.
- Leonor (10/5): great place to stay in Tlaquepaque - very close to all entertainment and restaurants
- rebecca (8/5): - The only thing is that they don’t have AC only fans and ceiling fan and I am always hot
- Dora (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aidee (1/5): Bad - Nothing This is not a hotel, is like abandoned rooms. There’s cero light in the room, they’re way to old, no restaurant in the hotel, NO PARKING, cero amenities
Will never stay here again
- Rene (4/5): - The property is walkiydistance from all restaurants and bars but I felt like I was hoodwinked. Non of the amenities on the website were available. We had to share the iron with other guests.. the towels were so old they had holes in them. Not to mention that the only way to lock our doors at night was a small latch. Which is a huge safety issue for me. The shower door fell on my while I was exciting the shower and when I told the lady in charge she just said to be careful next time I showered. My family and I were very disappointed. Also apparently there’s a safety concern regarding customers personal information being shared . We got strangers calling our cell phones asking questions pretending to be staff at hotel.. definitely won’t be returning or recommending this hotel.
- Marta (8/5): - Quaint & 2 blocks to Tlaquepaque
- Colleen (4/5): nice eclectic old hotel in great location but not as advertised - the location was excellent . the check in was fast. the girls at the front desk were very helpful. room was clean bed was good with lots of pillows. the hotel was advertised as having a temacazul and spa. they were not working for the past couple of yrs. there was no water provided for guest unless you paid an overinflated price. restaurant not open., no coffee. very noisy in the morning as all the rooms face the restaurant and courtyard and there is no glass windows to shut out the noise. . overpriced for the amount of services you received
- Laura (9/5): Great location, can’t beat the breakfast view of Guanajuato! -
- Dale (3/5): Poor -
- Galvan (9/5): Superb -
- Galvan (9/5): Superb -
- Eduardo (4/5): - The property have no breakfast
- Cesar (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the place and I decided to stay longer with my family, I love Tlaquepaque, I also loved Sebastián's very friendly treatment and the girls. Thank you for your kindness.
- BLANCA (6/5): - The property is unique with different rooms, not too many.
Unfortunately, they gave us a room, Sor Juana, with no windows, very dark. You needed to turn the lights in order to see. Also, it was right next to the reception area. Too noisy.
Other than that, it's a cute place. Great location.
- Sonia (5/5): The property is cute, but needs more amenities. - The uniqueness. The property did not have amenities like coffee, water and the towels were worn out.
Although, it’s two blocks away from the center the walk at night can feel not safe for a solo traveler.
- Machelle (4/5): just did - art and location Said was a restaurant and bar . Nope!
No heating in the entire property!! Only 1 blanket on bed.
Doors were actually locked with a padlock.
my bedroom was on the sidewalk and window to toilet in sidewalk also. The street noise and staff talking all night at my door!
SOOOOO loud!! I would not recommend this hotel unless they have a room in back.
- Carlos (6/5): good for youngers but not for families - totally Mexican style!! I loved it, it is amazing every single house I sneaked into were this Spanish hacienda style with interior patios high sealing & metal wooden materials craftsmanship the room was immediate to the entrance of the house so we can literally hear the talk and f anyone getting off n or out, moreover the lady at the front desk (if we can say so) was chatting since early morning! additional to that (sorry) the beautiful door of our room was unfortunately kind of twisted in the bottom so didn’t fit entirely to the frame so there was a 1 or two inches hole and, my daughter saw a huge cockroach behind her bed it was very disgusting, we thought that was the big hole from the door because the room was clean overall…I guess the ship price has a cost, right?
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosa (6/5): Check your reservation directly day before - Place was clean and location was perfect but our room had been given to someone else who "paid cash" even though we arrived hours before check-in. They honored our reservation but person before us was on a tour with our room key. They gave us a padlock but when we went to bed, we still could not lock our door.
- Berenice (8/5): - Cute little spot within walking distance to Tlaquepaque. Reception was accommodating. Very nice people. Lots to see. I would probably stay at the double bed room next time. For the price and location definitely worth it.
- Sergio (8/5): Very good -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carisa (7/5): An eclectic hotel close to downtown Tlaquepaque - The best thing about this hotel was the location. It is 2.5 blocks away from the center of Tlaquepaque and there are several local restaurants and a great bakery on the way to the center which will save you money than eating in the main plaza.
The entire facility is decorated nicely with a wide variety of artisan items as shown in the pictures and it has a great open space to sit under the indoor patio and a nice outside patio. That was another nice thing about this hotel was the extra “room” we had to move about as our 8-year old daughter had more space to be in than just a cramped hotel room.
There are only 6 rooms in the entire hotel and each room is named after a famous Mexican artist. The rooms are large with very high ceilings. The overall “look” of the hotel is dated; the mattresses are old and hard, the towels are odd sizes, the room lighting is very dim, the extra lights they installed to give more light in the room didn’t work, the electric switches had loose connections and the bathroom floor and shower is old. The doors are antique and have a latch to close from the inside and a deadbolt to lock from the outside.
I coughed a lot in the room while I was there, maybe a musty odor but when I left the room it stopped.
The hotel staff were nice enough, they gave just enough info to suffice but didn’t elaborate easily if you had more questions. They were present all day long if you had questions and they helped make arrangements for a private driver so we could tour to the pyramids which ended up being a great outing for us.
All in all it is a good place to stay so close to Tlaquepaque but it wasn’t our favorite place in our travels and stays in 4 other hotels; just a good safe close place to stay.
- Alfonso (5/5): unrestfull - central y located too much noice, people will come drunk in the middle of the night, and continue to be loud and even after calling to receptionist the noice continued until well over midnight.
- Cristina (7/5): Good -
- Felix (8/5): great stay - overall was good, I love the location and also the facilities I feel they can improve the privacy as the open window faces the main corridor
- Charlie (6/5): Holy Towels lol - The hotel has a a great style. The only thing is that the towels had more holes than a 18 hole golf course. The room had no light. If you plan to stay here plan on leaving the car in the street. All the public parking lots are full.
- Ana (8/5): Very good -
- Claudia (10/5): It was a homelike vibe. The hotel was beautiful. - The cappuccinos were amazing and the ambiance of the hotel was great.
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucia (9/5): it’s was great - everything was great the colors, location
- Teresa (10/5): - Todo fue muy excelente muy bonito lugar la estancia y sobre todo el personal muy atentos y amables muy chas gracias y muy bien recomendado a todas mis amistades
- sam (8/5): - Lovely garden and courtyard areas. Property is old but maintained.
- Sergio (10/5): - This is an authentic Mexican old house converted to a functional hotel located right at the heart of Tlaquepaque. This hotel is not the perfect setting but it has all the charm and beauty of the local culture and its staff are the nicest people you can find.
- aurelia (10/5): - Amazing service very clean
- Jose A (10/5): - For the age of the property it was very original deco and comfortable rooms it was a relaxing experience. It will be perfect for they to have a jacuzzi
- Chance (10/5): - Excellent location and great staff...very friendly and accommodating
- Paola (10/5): - This property is very unique. I absolutely loved it. My daughter loved it even more. She’s 10 and she didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait until the breakfast bar opens up so we. An spend out mornings there. every hotel room is unique with their own painting and figurines. The service there is on point. We were greeted by a gentlemen that took care of the location and made us feel so safe. I’m so happy he was there ! Will be back !
- Francisco (8/5): - Great
- IRENE (2/5): - Todo estaba bien, lo unico que tenian heran chinches en la cama y tubimos que abandonar el hote por la plaga 😏
- Sergio (6/5): - Location , magic safety were unique.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Problem: staff was too nosy loud during night time and early morning did not let guess sleep , did mentioned to staff to low down their talk during night time , but they even had a meeting next to my room around 5:30 am very nosy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful, and serene location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint, charming little oasis close to the Tlaquepaque town square, restaurants, and shopping district. Safe and locally owned, you can ensure your money is going directly to the support the economy and prosperity of the area and the individuals who live there.
