Guest Reviews
- EdFournier (10/5): Nice hotel in Ajijic - The Donaire hotel is very nice, very well located where you can enjoy the view of Ajijic from your room, with excellent attention and service from the staff, very large rooms, delicious food and drink
- Jennifer (10/5): - Beautiful and relaxing! The view was spectacular and the staff was simply the best! Very kind, very helpful and very pleasant!!
- Dan (10/5): Best Hotel in Mexico - Everyone and everything was absolutely amazing. The hotel is stunning. Service is 10 out of 10. The breakfast was cooked to perfection every morning. My girlfriend and I will miss the green juice and coffee every morning. Highly recommend
- William (10/5): - This place exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The view is spectacular. It was a short walk to the centro and malacon. The property is a gem, very comfortable and has lots of spaces to sit and chill. Loved the welcome Marg too. Look forward to a return visit.
- Al (2/5): - First, five minutes after I made the reservation I had questions so I called, but the hotel was not open until 8am CST. No one answered the phone until 915 CST. We decided to make the reservation here because of the accommodations that were listed on Expedia and due to my mothers health conditions. We arrive at the location after going through a process of figuring out the area because it is a bit reclusive. We arrive at the location to find out that three days before we had arrived that the kitchen staff and bar staff contract had been terminated. This was a huge concern for us, because anything nearby for eating was 2 miles away, at least. The person that received us said he would cancel the reservation because it did not meet what the accommodations that were listed on Expedia were no longer available. We only decided to stay there because the accommodation fit the things that my mother needed to accommodate her diabetic concerns. We had to go to the next town to locate something very last minute with no reservations. We booked it and called the hotel services at Donaire. But the hostile and not customer friendly Mariana at the front counter backed out of what was said earlier and would not cancel the hotel reservation. I pleaded with her with all sincerity and the only thing she took with pride was to tell me how much she was sorry, but she couldn’t cancel it. This place false advertise their services. It’s like take it or leave it once you’re there. Please be careful.
- I3530YYdannyr (10/5): Modern, quiet, beautiful! - Omg. Amazing, quaint, quiet property. I highly recommend!!! The waterfront is within walking distance only a few blocks away. We wish we stayed here another night. Make sure you ask recommendations for local, restaurants. We left to Chapala after this stay and WISHED we stayed here another night instead. You won’t find a more modern quiet place to stay.
- Iliana Jaime (6/5): - Room was nice and it was clean, but the TV did not work, the hot water took 30 minutes running to actually come out, but the shower drain was plugged so I had to take a super fast shower cause the water was going to spill out since it ran for so long. The front desk closes at 10pm so there was no one at the desk to tell about the tv and shower issues. It was 9pm when we checked in and wanted to have dinner or something to eat but once we got there they tell us the restaurant was not in service due to contract issues so there was no food in the hotel to purchase at all. We Gad to go back downtown to find out everything was closed already. Also the property is up in the top hill hidden away, very odd location and unsafe. Additionally the Property is under construction and made a mess of our car with dust. I would not stay here again. Just the location alone was a huge disappointment and then to add all the other issues made it awful. The room we got had a nice view of the city but sadly we didn’t enjoy our stay.
- greg (10/5): Tranquilo - Great checkin, friendly staff, english well spoken by staff. Beautiful view of lake
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Muy bonito y un excelente servicio!!!
- Jose Juan (10/5): - Amazing views of the chapala lake and mountains around it. Fast check in
- Miguel (10/5): - Excellent costumer service.
Friendly people
- EdwinHdzL (10/5): The best of the best experience! - Since we arrived, all the employees at Donaire were friendly, excellent service, the food was great, and all amenities and our room were amazing! I really recommend to visit it. The hotel is ideally for couples. I'm pretty sure is the best hotel at the zone.
- genaro_tc (10/5): Great place to keep all your senses engaged!!! - I stayed the past weekend at this hotel and my experience was outstanding. I stayed at room 3 in the first floor and had a great view to Chapala Lake, which means all rooms have a great view view. All the details in the hotel are very well taken, the food was amazing (I’m attaching some pictures). The service was very good, they really do their best to make sure you are enjoying every moment. I also received a massage which was the cherry at the top of the pie!!!
If you are visiting Chapala this is definitely the best place to keep all your senses engaged!!!
- kevinkR7460ES (6/5): Didn’t live up to the hype. - Really nice view and decent rooms. Quite overpriced for what you get though. Lots of bugs on balcony so couldn’t sit out for the view. Only one bath robe for 2 people. Supposed to be bottled water in room, the was a pre filled carafe. Toilet kept running on and not filling. Fairly hard to find even with a GPS. Not well marked. Asked for ketchup with my scrambled eggs at breakfast but by the time it arrived my eggs were cold. (It wasn’t busy). Seemed to be a chore and waiter had the face of someone who didn’t want to be there.
- Kevin (6/5): Great views - Didn't quite live up to our expectations as per the reviews and price.
- mizzallie (6/5): Just Ok. Overrated - While the staff here are lovely, I truly cannot understand why this place is so highly rated. The rooms have lots of bugs and no air conditioning. Its very hot in the area and you cant keep doors open with the bugs and the fan isnt enough. There is no elevator and by time you get to your room youre hot and tired. The property is not near the lake. You have to go up a huge steep hill to get back to the hotel. Ubers are not reliable in the area. We checked out early and left. I wish people would be more honest with their reviews. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it. Again, the hotel staff are incredibly kind and courteous but this placis not relaxing or comfortable. We didn't enjoy our time here.
- Janet (10/5): - Helpful staff and beautiful view
- codyboo (8/5): 2nd week long visit - We completed our second week long visit in 1.2 years. It's a beautiful hotel with great service from the staff. I did ask for a 1st floor room and that was confirmed in our reservation however we were on the 2nd level again and the stairs are plenty and a bit tough if you have a mobility issue. We don't like the coffee in the room but we just got a little coffee maker at Wal Mart and fine with that. The beds in the hotel are very firm. Mario, the night gaurd saved our day when our driver did not show up and he got us to the Guadalajara airport in time to catch our flight!
- AnthonyMKe (10/5): Best Hotel with a 5 star service - My stay at Donaire was amazing, super clean room, great service from staff, amazing food and not to forget the the breathtaking views of Lake Chapala. I will definitely be back with family on my next trip to Mexico, I highly recommend!
- arturosbaja (10/5): Excellent view, great service. - This hotel is located in the middle of a hill with a breathtaking view of the Chapala lake. Morning at the room terrace with a coffee is awesome. We stayed at room 12 which is at the top floor. The view is great, but from the parking lot to the room floor you got to climb 100 steps, no elevator. The room includes breakfast which it was excellent. Had dinner there one night and the food and service were excellent. If you don't mind the stairs, I highly recommend this hotel.
- AMINE (10/5): Excelente!!!!! - Excelente hotel! El servicio maravilloso y la comida deliciosa!!!!! Me encanto!
- Neil (10/5): Nice Stay - We had a lovely stay. It was a large room with a great view of the city. The daily breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant and both times was delicious.
- Gladys (10/5): - Beautiful and relax hotel
- Matthew (10/5): - The property is a beautiful as the photos! However it is on a hill and there is not an elevator. For us it wasn't a problem but be prepared.
- Petclerk (8/5): Awesome View Hotel in Ajijic - Amazing place! Very nice comfortable room. The view was amazing! The service was impeccable! I cannot believe how good the service was, never have I seen such dedicated employees…. Thank you all so so much!!! Sorry I had to rate it 4 instead of 5 due to some circumstances that may not affect everyone, lots of stairs to go to the dining area; beds were a little hard, the pool is not accessible for someone with slight mobility issues as the access is the narrow two handled stairs with a high jump onto the bottom step in order to get out. The food was very good but too much salt, and the desserts were absolutely awesome so we ordered way too many desserts!! Had a wonderful time, thank you Donaire Hotel!!
- Ana (10/5): - Beautiful views, convenient location, clean
- Rudy (10/5): - This property is amazing, the view spectacular, the food delicious, the rooms spacious, and the staff caring and attentive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel as described, beautiful, well maintained, clean, employees wonderful and relaxing....we'll definitely will return.
- Sayde (8/5): - The place is nice the pool is smaller than the pictures the food is amazing but the service in the pool area bad nobody around to order drinks and food they need someone in that area ..
- Angelica (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel, friendly staff. Welcoming delicious margaritas! The room was very nice with balcony facing the lake to enjoy your drink. Relaxing and very clean pool, everything was perfect! Highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Ajiji, which btw is a beautiful town!
- Happiness813183 (8/5): Great people and stay at Donaire! - My recent stay was wonderful! The people, the views, the facilities, the location and cuisine make this my favorite stay. The hill side location is great for views and walking the cobblestone streets is both challenging and good exercise. Will stay again and highly recommend!
- Kevin (10/5): Hidden Gem.... - This place was amazing. A special thank you to Oscar and Jorge for an awesome service experience. Everything was first class from the food and room quality to the 55 minute massage. The location is walking distance from the lake and many fine restaurants. We met the owner, Natalia, who was very charming and us feel welcome. We will return!
- Paulina (10/5): Beautiful hotel - The place is beautiful, gorgeous decoration and view of the lake and the city. The service was great, friendly and really wanted to help you with everything you need. We had breakfast every day and dinner once and it was delicious. I totally recommend it!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ENTIRE staff...I mean everyone...seriously, everyone...was friendly and clearly wanted to make our stay as pleasant as they could.
Great views.
Very nice restaurant. On weekends its busy from expats, Guadalajara crowd and locals. It's beyond just "hotel" food for the guest.
Happily stay here anytime we are in Ajijic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We really enjoyed are stay. The food and service were excellent. We would recommend this place for anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best view of Ajijic! Also, the staff is amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful staff, beautiful views.
- patrick (10/5): Magical place and people here!! - 2nd stay and the people that welcome guests and take such good care of us - are always the most enjoyable aspect of the stay.
Great property, amazing manager and staff and chef.
No A/C and bugs an issue this stay but I will be back again to enjoy the excellent service, location and magic of Donaire Hotel Boutique!
- TheCaptainHere (2/5): Great to eat at restaurant. But if you stay the night, they'll scam you for money. - Don Aire has a great restaurant, having dinner there is great. If you're considering staying the night, I'd recommend other hotels. The pool and amenities and the room are ok, nothing great (the rate is pricey for what you get).
It's located next to a farm? if you like roosters crowing all day and night, and large wasps surrounding the pool, then feel free to stay but you've been warned!
I'd not recommend international travelers to stay here as the service and hotel took advantage of costs and are abusive. For example, we asked for hair stylists when going to an event, they said yes, and they brought people in that masqueraded as hair stylists, once we found out we were being scammed, we told them no more services and still charged us.
Similarly for a dinner we organized (and paid dearly for it - including great tips) - they are not shy in lying to you, changing terms of the arrangement in a whim, and then charging you extra for it.
ALSO - the rooms have no telephones, so you communicate with reception by WhatsApp - a messaging service - but sometimes it "doesn't work" according to the staff on front desk. So be prepared for staff to ignore you if you ask something important or require transport at a specific time. They make up their rules and act as if it's their hotel.
The rules specify no outside food - so best of luck if you're trying to bring in snacks or food from outside. Get ready to not eat if you're coming back after 9pm.
Joke of a hotel.
- bethanyamp (10/5): Donaire is your home . . . - In the last month, I have been to the Donaire twice for a meal and I will be there again tonight, with friends. The design of the property is so smart and their thoughtful consideration has created a calming oasis in the middle of this bustling mountain community. Both visits have been at the end of long, hot days and the relaxing soundtrack, excellent service from Oscar and view from the lower terrace have been just what I needed. The tuna tartare is delicious, as is the salmon, and the preparation of both offer an elegant and fresh approach. Their wine selection is varied and well-priced. On my first visit, I was offered a tour of the property. The rooms are sleek, modern and spa-like. Quality bath products, curated art on the walls and in-room espresso machines are just a few of the amenities that make the Donaire a really special place. Each of the ten rooms have private balconies with a view of the lake. It is clear this is a destination for romantic couples and the property is idyllic for weddings, family gatherings or, lucky for me, I get the pleasure of dining here anytime I want to feel like I am “getting away” . . . less than a mile from where I live in Ajijic. When I wrote to say how nice it was to dine there, the owner responded kindly with, “Donaire is your home”. It’s lovely.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good place to stay.
Very relaxing and the service excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - location, restaurant, breakfast. ***********************************************************
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nice boutique hotel, very relaxing and friendly staff and excellent food
- Carlos (10/5): Excellent - Great stay as usual!
- Edgar (6/5): Shady - First off, the hotel is nice and clean. We really liked it. Getting to the hotel was a pain but eventually found it.
Here’s the upsetting part. Nobody but the hotel knew we were staying there. At check in, they asked us for our identification card and phone number (not sure why if the rooms have a phone). So, right when we were checking out, I received 3 missed calls on my cellphone. I called the number back and here we go (they told me they found a vehicle near the hotel filled with weapons and drugs). The guy told me I couldn’t leave the room because they had to verify we weren’t associated with the guys they were looking for. Anyway, I knew it was BS so went downstairs to let them know the call I received. Long story short, we left...will not return and it’s sad because the hotel is actually nice and clean. I feel someone at the hotel tried to pull a fast one (just my opinion). Nobody knew we were staying there but hotel staff...
- codyboo (10/5): Outstanding Hotel and Service - We booked here over the Christmas holidays to be close to our good friends who live one street away. We were not disappointed. The facility is better than photos shown on the internet and service was flawless and outstanding. The food is just incredible. An ever present owner keeps things consistent and even. I would recommend to this to anyone I know and will certainly stay again when visiting Ajijic!
- marleenkok (10/5): Excellent food, fantastic waitstaff, marvelous view - We came to this hotel to eat in their restaurant. The hotel is beautiful but we did not stay here. However, the food needs to be mentioned and also the hotel needs to advertise that their is a restaurant in here. The food is eclectic and very good. They also have a good assortment of local wines. When in Mexico I insist on drinking Mexican wines. They do have very good ones. Try the Shrimp burger on black bun. It was super! as were the Duck Tacos. Oscar was our waiter, such a nice gentleman who made our dinners so special. It was a treat to eat here and we will be back.
- scottm8585 (10/5): Outstanding Boutique Hotel Experience - My family and I recently had the pleasure of spending eight nights at the Donaire. I have traveled extensively throughout Mexico and this was the best boutique hotel experience I have had in that country. To begin, the hotel is meticulously designed with wonderful art in the lobby and restaurant, beautiful plants and sculptures in the outdoor areas, and each room is large and tastefully appointed with a balcony and a breathtaking view of Lake Chapala. The hotel is not part of a big chain, but family owned and cared for - in the truest sense - with family members on-site offering guests warm and sincere service. Finally, I will say that the "big surprise" was the restaurant, which was outstanding and worth trying for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast brioche is to die for and their hamburger is the best I have ever tasted - and I am an American who has been eating hamburgers for about 55 years!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great hotel, friendly staff. Amazing views of lake Chapala and cool poolside lounging.
They have a strict Policy against bringing any outside food/beverage in hotel or rooms. Verify if this is important to you.
- Paul (10/5): - Outstanding hotel, property and staff. Views of Lake Chapala and town of Ajijic from every room are stunning. Staff extremely customer service focused. Incredible food at the hotel restaurant. Beautiful grounds, pool etc... Rooms are immaculate. Highly recommend.
- 100paulr (10/5): Incredible Hotel, Staff, Food and Location - This hotel is in the perfect location. Situated in the hills just above the town of Ajijic, every room has an outstanding view of Lake Chapala. It was wonderful to sit out on our balcony with coffee in the morning, or in the evening at Sunset. You also get a bird's eye view of the entire town of Ajijic. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The manager, Natalia was always a text away offering any help we needed or providing useful information. The pool is also beautiful, the water very warm and views of the Lake and town. The food and drinks in the restaurant were top-notch, and you have the ability to dine in multiple places on the property, each of which is a beautiful setting. If you are planning to stay in Ajijic, do not miss out on this hotel, and prices are incredibly reasonable.
- PastaMom2011 (10/5): Five Stars All the Way! - We spend four nights at this hotel (two couples) and we were absolutely mesmerized by the tranquility of the hotel and restaurant and the lovely family that runs it. The hotel is positioned beautifully with all rooms overlooking the pool and the lake in the distance. A really beautiful vista in addition to the lush landscaping around the pool and walkways. The rooms are modern and the bed so very comfortable. The balcony door has a screen so you can leave it open over night. We loved hearing the nighttime thunder and rain.
We spent most early evenings at the pool sipping on margaritas, pina coladas or wine. The waiter checked on us often. We enjoyed appetizers poolside. Duck tacos, oh my!, and a grilled chicken with peanut sauce...so tender.
After we ate in the restaurant for dinner our second evening, we ate the remainder of our dinners at the restaurant. Usually sitting out on the balcony. Stand outs were the Rib Eye, Aquachile Shrimp, Chicken Pesto, Squash Soup. Everything was delicious. In the morning, I was rather set on eating the Acai bowl topped with toasted coconut, bananas and strawberries. . My husband had Eggs Benedict every morning. There was also Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquillas, etc. Every meal was a great experience.
We had such a very relaxing time. We will miss seeing Luca, the Maltepoo puppy. What a sweetie. He doesn't live there....but he did come by with his Mama.
Great place. We think it is now our favorite hotel. It offered a nice level of luxury at a mid-range hotel price!!
- 144howardj (10/5): Donaire Hotel Restaurant - excelente! - We invited two friends and had a wonderful dinner. We met the chef and later took a tour of the hotel and rooms.
Excellent design, quality and customer service.
We look forward to returning soon.
Howard
- leorat2017 (10/5): A must Stay - This is the most remarkable place and now our favorite hotel! We have had the best service by the nicest and most accommodating people! Designed for stunning views which can keep me mesmerized and tranquil simultaneously and indefinitely. Very comfortable beds - a must for me and appealing modern decor. The walk up the road and stairs was just the right cardiac and leg muscle exercise for the day. If one doesn’t want that; there are nearby drivers. The cuisine and meal service was exceptional. We chose to eat most meals there. We will definitely return here!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We will be going back...the food was excellent, the view was incredible, everyone was very nice with us.
- r.e.Galvan (10/5): - I love the place, the views, the hospitality, the service was very efficient and clean.
I love the welcoming with a delicious margaritas and the great breakfast was delicious too.
- BeverlyW (10/5): - Modern hotel where every room has a fabulous view of the lake and city. Greeted warmly and special treat of a complimentary margarita.
Room is spacious with a deck to enjoy the view. We walked into town for shopping, siteseeing and dinner. Just know it is up the hill from town so there are steep hills to go up and down. Also the hotel is on 3 or 4 levels so lots of stairs. We were good with it but not advisable for those with walking issues.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great property very nice amenities.
Our television didn't work. The breakfast was included which was a bonus.
A drawback was that the hotel staff knew very little English. I would stay there again anytime.
- G Micahel (10/5): Paradise....With A View! - Designed by architect Gabriel Esquivias, and run by his marvelous daughter Natalia, this would be a magnificent place for a vacation in any setting. But elevated on a hill overlooking the charming town of Ajijic and beautiful Lake Chapala, it is. A place we hope to return to many times! The rooms are spacious with great attention to detail with art and beautiful architectural details. They also feature private balconies overlooking a beautiful pool and garden terraces. The rooftop patio is an excellent place to watch the sun set. They also include a fabulous breakfast with your room and the chef is so good here that one night we just “stayed in” one evening to enjoy the restaurant for dinner. The staff is marvelous as well. Donaire Hotel Boutique will remain one of our fondest hotel memories of all time, and we have many!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Outstanding views of Lake Chapala and mountains. Several decks to relax with views. Design and landscaping is fantastic. Service and cleanliness was tops.
- Joe (10/5): - Beautiful property with wonderfully attentive staff!
- Ed (10/5): - It has a commanding view of Ajijic. Many flowering plants and trees are on the grounds - so much so that the groundskeepers have to pick up the fallen blossoms every morning. They have a variety of good breakfasts included in the price. We loved the Avena bowl, also called Burcher Museli. Every morning we heard dozens of roosters, an occasional braying donkey, and lots of barking dogs, even before the clang of the church bells. You can get in great shape walking up and down the cobblestone streets. It's only a 10-minute walk downhill to the main plaza. The staff of the Donaire were wonderfull and very attentive to our needs!
Super recomendado. <3
- Al (10/5): - The hotel is very nice and the views to Lake Chapala are beautiful. We were greeted with complimentary margaritas and staff was very friendly. We also had dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent.
- Newton (10/5): - A view to thrill overlooking Ajijic into the dawn of the bright, orange sunrise and the shimmering golden colors of the lake of the sunset at dusk. The staff and owners aim to please with impeccable service accommodating all your needs. You can take a brisk morning walk to the Malecón or take a hike up the mountain capturing even more breathtaking views below. Property is stupendously clean and the architecture down to the solar heated pool well tjought out!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It has a pleasing ambiance but quite expensive considering that it is
- Martín (10/5): - Very friendly staff y like the privacy on the hotel, view
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The View Of Lake Chapala and Ajijic from the Hotel is Spectacular.
- Francisco Javier (10/5): A New Gem in Ajijic - This is a beautiful boutique hotel with incredible views from every room, the roof garden and the pool. The staff is professional and incredibly helpful. We will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place! - The hotel is very new and beautiful. Nice, modern and clean. The room would have been perfect but we had a very noisy fan. Otherwise, really nice place. Food and service were amazing; probably their biggest asset. Will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.
- ramon (8/5): Great place to stay but....... - Hotel rooms are clean and modern. Excellent view from room #9. Staff was awesome. Downside was the wifi. Cant stay connected for more than 5 minutes. Location is away from all the eats and drinks. And the drive to the hotel is through a very steep road. The hotel will email you a map for a less incline approach.
- Rose (10/5): - This property is on top of a mountain the view is spectacular. You really get to embrace the beauty of lake Chapala. The staff is very helpful and the hotel is very clean. It’s quite modern I would say and includes a hair drier in the room. The pool has an amazing view of Chapala. I ordered room service and the food was amazing! The check in was spendid they got us welcome margaritas which was a great touch. You will not regret saying here, I would be more than glad to return to his hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property is located on the top of a hill overlooking th village of Ajijic. Beautiful rooms with terraces, most overlooking the infinity pool. Staff was delightful. I highly recommend this hotel if coming to the area. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
- Jamie (8/5): - Very nice property in Ajijic. The uphill climb and 99 stairs to our room were the downside. Lovely pool. Friendly staff does not speak fluent English but communication was still adequate. Lots of noise at night from dogs, hens and roosters. Fan, but no air conditioning.
- Marianne (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful, restful - Loved this modern little boutique hotel with large rooms, a beautiful pool, a great view over ajijic and the lake. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I am not a fan of ajijic and lake chapels, but if I come back in town, I'll stay there again. The messages on the rooftop were a total treat. I recommend!
- Matthew (10/5): True comfort - The hotel is excellent, true comfort. When we showed up with our two children they readily accommodated us even though there was some mixup because the hote is not evidently hosting people with children. Regardless, we loved the rooms, the heated pool, and everything about it. There is a steep walk of about three blocks on cobblestone streets down to the main town area, it was fine for our girls who are 5 and 9, but if you have trouble getting around that would be the one downside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - amazing views breathtaking staff were amazing
rooms are first class
- W (10/5): Wish We Had Stayed Longer - Delightful little place. Great staff, great view, clean modern room, good room service. Good restaurants and bars a short walk down the hill. Only improvement would be a little more signage directing one to the parking area.
- Patricia (10/5): Special treatment - The best customer service ever. Claudia and Mariana made my stay a magical one. They went above and beyond in order to make me feel special. I will be coming back anytime I visit Ajijic. Keep up the good work.
- Michael (8/5): Uphill mountain site - Map on site was confusing, I thought the mountains were the lake. The hotel was a hard walk uphill. The staff was very helpful ad the room was new and very clean. The towels were the softest on my trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great View of Ajijic - The location is up from the Ajijic Plaza which gives you a great view from all the rooms.
It is walkable for those in reasonable shape. The last block to the hotel is up a fairly steep hill so some people might want to drive or take a taxi.
A very nice continental breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, whole grain bread, yogurt, granola, orange juice and coffee is served from 8 to 11.
