- Sonja (7/5): Pretty good location was a plus - Staff was very nice although I called twice for toilet paper. I kept in mind maybe it was busy downstairs but also felt ignored as I had to call second time. I thought breakfast was included and free but had to pay extra. Wish it was more clear. Also the carpet was very bearded and snagged. Section should be replaced as my husband does flooring and we notice it really stands out. It pulled the over all look of place down a bit.

- Sarah (9/5): A stylish, comfortable stay in a perfect location! - We had a great stay at Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District. The location was perfect—close to Powell’s Books, Screen Door, with easy freeway access and the metro nearby, which made getting around really convenient. The hotel has a stylish boutique vibe, and our room was spacious and very comfortable for two people. The king bed and pillows were especially cozy, and we appreciated having plenty of outlets and charging ports for our devices. I loved that we had access to the the ice machine, water refill station and microwave close to the elevator. Bonus: free coffee and cold water in the lobby sitting area, there's a gym on the top floor and roof top access. The staff were friendly enough and helpful when needed. I would definitely stay here again. Front desk service was efficient overall—the night staff were warm and welcoming, while daytime interactions felt a bit less personable (not a terrible thing but just something I noticed). Also, the lobby scent was quite strong upon entry, which may be noticeable for those sensitive to fragrances, especially during allergy season.

- Z8635LVsusanr (8/5): Great location. Nice hotel. - We enjoyed our stay at Canopy. Location is great is in what feels like a safe neighborhood. Great coffee spots, restaurants and shopping all in walking distance. While the front desk staff were nice and pleasant - as other reviews state there is not always someone at the desk and don’t answer the hotel phone. If you are looking for high touch service and concierge services this is not the place for you. Room was great - only issue is the mattresses are well past their prime and are worn down and not good for you back.
- Viewfrom21c (4/5): Facility is nice, the experience a big nope - Convenient to the train station and public transportation, this hotel is on the edge of the Pearl District. The area appears long past its prime, but there are an abundance of restaurants in easy walking distance. Powell's City of Books is also very close by. The hotel itself is industrial chic, with high ceilings and exposed pipes in the lobby, concrete floors and thin cotton rugs in the rooms. Our king-bedded room faced noisy 9th St. There's a TV mounted on the wall opposite the bed, getting Netflix and YouTube in addition to cable channels. There's an alcove with enough room for suitcases and clothing. The bathroom has good counter space as well as some small shelves. There's a large shower, no tub. Amenities include hand soap and lotion in pump dispensers on the sink, wall-mounted body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. There's no refrigerator, but there's a cooling drawer. A communal microwave is in the hall. There's a Nespresso for your coffee. Valet parking is $55, or you can self park in the open lot across the street for $32. The restaurant serves breakfast, though while we were there fully a third of the menu was not available. If you have the $15 daily credit, that probably won't be enough though self-serve coffee is complimentary, While the facility itself is fine, our experience was truly substandard. Super shout out to Maria, who not only made a fine cocktail but helped serve breakfast one morning and even helped check us out. The rest of the staff we encountered ranged from pleasant to indifferent. Without going into detail, which we're taking up with the hotel, we had issues with room equipment, housekeeping, and the restaurant. Based on this, while we might stay at another Canopy, we would not recommend this one. Go down the street to the Hampton Inn instead. Quick tip: even if you check in with the app, be sure to go to the front desk. The digital key was temperamental. Ask about the "cocktail of the day" - the front desk and bartender don't agree on that. And ask about whether to expect daily housekeeping. I also noticed that the person in front of us was told she could request a refrigerator if she wanted one - that detail was left out for us.

No vending machines. No place to get a glass of milk before bed unless you want to get dressed and go down to the bar. Dirty and stained carpet. We had a group of 14 checking in and some rooms were," not available" when we arrived and so some in our group had to be accommodated in different room arrangements. One of the rooms that we were given was dirty and the linens were in a heap on the floor, we waited over an hour for it to be cleaned. The microwave on floor 7 was broken and the ice machine wasn't working either. Upon checkout there was a mystery room service charge of $48. That was not ours and we couldn't get a receipt for valet parking that we needed to submit for reimbursement. SURPRISE, you have to pay $50. Per night for parking and it is not covered nor is it secure. All in all I consider myself lucky, as I was leaving another guest was coming in to report her car was broken into and they told her ," sorry out parking is handled by a third party and we don't have anything to do with it ."

- Sandra (3/5): - Stuff is nice When we came to checking in at 4p they made us wait for an hour until we got into our room.Rooms are very small and not clean, there is carpet stain and beds are not comfortable, it does not feel like a 4 star hotel. The hotel located next to a lot of homeless and drug dealers area. And the cherry on top, our car got broken into in the parking lot that belongs to the hotel. Not worth the money and doesn’t feel safe!!

- Safari18619474557 (10/5): Lovely Sanctuary - Truly everything I could of hoped for and more. This was such a short business trip but nonetheless the more relaxing as well. Checking in was spot on by Christian and the bedding was so comfortable I need to know where to get a bed like this! I woke up well rested and into a delightful aroma of a delicious breakfast awaiting at Vaux. I did enjoy the roof top gym as well, breathtaking views and got the workout needed to end the perfect day at this elegant sanctuary. Highly recommend this hotel and needless to say that I will be back next time my travels bring me to Portland. Ciao Canopy!
- Mariela (6/5): Pleasant - Room was clean and in good condition. The property does not have its own restaurant. They have breakfast service by contract with an onsite cafeteria. I did not like it. A bit complicated, stand in line order your breakfast….. if you reserve room with breakfast included, this means that the hotel calculates an average daily allowance for your breakfast, if you go over this allowance you will be charged extra. Items left behind are sent to you by a company that obligates you to use PayPal to pay for the shipping charges. PayPal is a high security risk, it is highly hacked

- Connector12132190527 (10/5): Delightful Pearl District Experience - This is a lovely Chic hotel in the middle of my favorite shopping district! I’ve been coming to the Pearl at least once or twice a year for the past 5 years, however this is my first time experiencing the Canopy. I can’t believe I didn’t stay here sooner! Jess was wonderful at check in, her and Alex at the desk made me feel like a long lost friend, they have extraordinary personalities. The rooms are gorgeous, I got a corner room with a beautiful view. I loved the desk space and the long drapes are very European style… I love it!! The restaurant was also a delightful experience, the oven pizza I had was very tasty! Gabe at the bar was super as well! Overall a comfortable experience, truly pleased with Hilton. I think I found my new brand to travel and unwind.

Checked out the famous Powell Book store thanks to Alex who gave me directions and showed genuine interest in making sure that I enjoyed my stay to the fullest. Maria the bartender was friendly and had a great vibe. Housekeeping has a great staff. Canopy was delightful and charming and I can’t wait to return in March for my next business trip.
- Climber16767236665 (10/5): Romantic Getaway Gone Perfect!!! - Planned a romantic getaway with my fiancé and from check in to check out this hotel was charming at its best! Israel and Jessica at the desk are fantastic! We were issued an early check in and were amazed with a wonderful surprise in our room that included a complimentary bottle of wine. Unfortunately they do not have an extensive dinner selection but across the street there a charming little Italian restaurant that was also a great experience. Alex the manager recommended this place and I can assure you it’s definitely worth it! At the time of check out we were allowed a complimentary late check out, which was much needed for a good night rest. Canopy team thank you for this amazing experience and making it truly unforgettable for my fiancé and I. We will return and hopefully plan our wedding here!

We stumbled across this hotel last minute on our way to Seattle and all hands down I highly recommend for it's comfortable rooms, stylish vibe and all the care for the staff members. Christian and Alex checked me in, both sensational and great sense of humor. As a Hilton Honors member my wife and I valued the little details like the complimentary water and upgrade we received to a top floor. Breakfast was very good, highly recommend the pancakes and espressos. Overall this was a great quick stop and will return! Hilton never disappoints.

Not quant, just spartan, with lousy breakfast, a bar that operates when they feel like it, uncomfortable furniture in the rooms and lobby, shoddy maintenance. We shortened our trip to get out of there. An uncomfortable competitor to Aloft, not a pleasant experience. There must be better choices. Nice reception staff. Doors that don’t shut, filtered water with unchanged filters.

Free coffee and cups were gone by 8 am and to place an order for food or specialty drinks took 40 minutes. Only two people were working so it was not their fault. But for a hotel this is unacceptable and for what we paid for we were insulted.

Not sure if it was from tv’s in adjoining rooms or what. At 7:30 am there was a fast thumping noise that lasted 25 minutes. Also, a little standing dust on surface of coffee service area and bathroom.

The staff is wonderful, the food is always good, and the rooms are clean. My only downside is the nightly valet price is quite high. Outside of that, I always enjoy my stay.
- Kassandra (10/5): - Beautiful property with a lot of wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Great hospitality, easy valet, friendly front desk staff and bartending/baristas. If you're up for a longer jaunt, check out the Nob Hill district just about a 20 minute walk too. The only thing we had issue with is noise at night - both from the street below and what seem to be thin walls between rooms (or just noisy neighbors). Otherwise, the best time. - PFinUS (6/5): Great location - but… - Check-in was smooth. We liked the public areas. Staff overall pleasant. Room was in need of help. Paint needed. Our particular room had after market black out blinds for airline guests - but they were pretty well shredded and barely went up and down. Bathroom was well appointed. Ice machine was not working on our floor. We asked to have the room cleaned - they didn’t vacuum but otherwise it was ok. Parking pretty spendy @ $55/day. Maybe that’s average in PDX. Breakfast was really good and appreciated being able to have a cappuccino. I gave it 3 stars because of the quality of the room.
- Matthew (6/5): - Late-evening checkin agent very pleasant and accommodating. Valet service for car a plus. The fact it was 1/3 the price of the room is a bit extreme. Surrounding area is sketchy with homeless on the street down the block. I'm not comfortable walking the streets in Portland at night. Room smells of mildew due to a leak in a service area across from the room where there is a fan placed in front of the open water stained cabinet which is blowing smelly air under the threshold of the room. Noisy refrigerator. Drapes unhooked aprox one foot at each end so they are hanging. Bathroom simple, shower basin looks yellowed from age or wear. Nice Apothek amenities, but very limited. Sheets are average probably 300TC poly cotton blend - basic hotel sheets.

The room had some issues, the tv didn’t work even after the remote got replaced. The shower was dirty and we didn’t know the refrigerator was off until it was too late. There also was no obvious way to turn it on.

My experience was very deceiving. I paid almost 150 dollars per night for a terrible room and experience like hasn't been acceotable.

- aguges (6/5): Inconsistent - We chose this hotel as loyal Honors members, and after having a really great experience at a Canopy by Hilton in another city. Unfortunately, this hotel did not live up to the quality I’m used to at Hilton hotels and would recommend exploring other options in this area. Check-in: We arrived on a Saturday and weren’t given access to our rooms until an hour after check-in due to cleaning, “quality inspection", and further fixes after not meeting inspection standards. By the line at the front desk and others waiting in the lobby, it’s clear we weren’t the only ones. Later in the same evening we discovered empty body soap when showering, and lights that didn’t turn on. Rooms: The rooms are relatively nice and have modern decor. The bed was comfortable and had good pillows (not always a given). The floors are cement with a rather dirty area rug under the bed which brings the quality down a bit. One of our rooms stayed cool while the other was damp and humid. On the two days we removed our sleep signs to receive room service – one day no one came, and on the other only the bathroom was cleaned (but not the beds) so we had to request a return visit. I was told room service normally occurs between 4 and 5pm — an inconvenient time for guests in my opinion. Valet: Despite the high daily cost, we chose to use the valet during our stay for the sake of convenience. The system works well overall, but you’re at the mercy of their availability during busy times. Sometimes the 10 minute lead-time was enough and a couple times it took 40 minutes from time of request to getting the car. I noticed a parking lot across the street for much less, which seems like a better option in hindsight. This hotel has a lot of potential, but unfortunately fell short in some way on a daily basis. It appears they lack the staff to maintain quality and handle daily turnover. On the upside, it’s worth noting that everyone we interacted with – from the front desk to the bartender and valet – were very friendly and personable.

No working AC in the fitness room during a super hot summer day. Overall a very poor experience given that the Hotel is supposed to be in the upper scale. Avoid, must be vetter options out there.
- 73melissam (6/5): Beautiful Hotel, Poor Execution - As a Diamond member, I truly hate to say this—but the Canopy Hilton was a disappointment. While the hotel has a modern, stylish vibe and both Wesley and Cameron were pleasant during check-in, the positive experience ended there on day one. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed the bathroom was missing shower gel and the window shade was broken. When I requested assistance, I was informed maintenance had already left for the evening. I had to stand on a chair just to manually pull the shade down and block out the streetlight glare. Despite requesting daily housekeeping, my room was never cleaned. The valet service was also extremely frustrating—I waited 40 minutes for my vehicle in the morning, making me late for work. When I inquired about the delay, the front desk blamed a wedding party from the night before, while the valet attendant claimed she had just received the request. It felt like no one was on the same page, and the lack of coordination was unacceptable. Although the hotel offers a $15 daily credit, it didn’t come close to covering the overpriced food or make up for the late service. Additionally, the hotel’s location isn’t ideal—poor signage, no clear unloading zone, and minimal street presence. I didn’t feel the usual warmth or hospitality I’ve come to expect from Hilton. Overall, this stay fell well below expectations. Hilton properties can be hit or miss, and unfortunately, this one was a clear miss. I would not recommend it to future guests.

Note: The one bummer- found the bar to be an absolute mess. Terrible service including missing glassware, opened unavailable and lazy, disinterested, confusing bar worker . Luckily there are lots of great cocktail bars in walking distance. Go elsewhere for drinks

- Ji (6/5): Ok. - Honestly, the location, staff, vibe are all good. However, I have to admit that the in wall acoustical insulation is terrible. I can clearly hear both the Tv from the room next door and the noise from the hallway. I hate to say that this is very unfortunate because unlike other things that the hotel can constantly improve as they operate, the acoustical separation is something that has been built in wall and unable to alter once the building is done, unless there is a substantial renovation. Other than this, I think the hotel is good.
- Philip Jayson (6/5): - The hotel is visually appealing, featuring a lovely rooftop and spacious rooms. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the ability to check in and out via the mobile app added a convenient, modern touch. However, the absence of daily room cleaning was disappointing. Additionally, the eco-friendly lighting system caused the bathroom lights to turn off during showers, which was inconvenient. For longer stays, fresh towels must be requested by messaging the staff. While this system works, it may not be ideal for guests who prefer minimal interaction. The check-in time of 4:00 PM and check-out at 12:00 PM also felt somewhat restrictive. On a positive note, the hotel is located in a safe neighborhood During our stay in Oregon, it was raining, and we requested umbrellas—an amenity commonly available at other Hilton properties—but were informed that all umbrellas were currently in use and unavailable. While there were some highlights, I’m unlikely to stay at another Hilton Canopy location in the future
- Cari (9/5): Great value in a good part of town - The staff was incredible and handled the late check in situation as best they could. The rooms were stunning, I thought I had been upgraded to a suite as my room was so spacious. Breakfast was fine but there are much better places in the area to eat. I was very comfortable there and will book again. My check in time was three hours late. I’m a pretty laid back person but I was coming off an International flight fighting jet lag. The staff let us know that they were short staffed and had new management. Management needs to do better as the poor staff were getting yelled at by patrons.

We love the neighborhood but be prepared to walk past unhoused people if you come through old town area. Hotel was great. Friendly, clean, new. Great public transportation

We loved the brand of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower so much I had to look it up! The storage inside the room was set up nicely for luggage. Conveniently located in the pearl district and I didn’t feel unsafe outside the hotel. The room is fabulous but it’s expensive considering there isnt more included and we had to pay to valet the car each night so that the car would be safe.
