BOBBIE (8/5): Wonderful house with a few glitches - We returned to Villa Mira because of the excellent amenities (bedding, lighting, kitchen, screens) and wonderful private pool that was cleaned daily. It saved us during the extreme temperatures (93+) most days while we were there. A new Smart TV was installed, and we enjoyed streaming when the internet connection was strong. The lock on the gate and the microwave were also appreciated. The weekly cleaning was the most thorough of any place we have stayed. The air-conditioning is excellent. Bar Barullo was close (5 minute drive) for great coffee/breakfast pastries. Rural Italy has weak internet. Consequently, about 30% of our time there, no connection was possible. Our stay coincided with the "seasonal return" of Asian cockroaches. The owners were aware of this type of bug and gave us a spray to use. Although we did spray, we continued to kill and dispose of them (10-20) on a daily basis. The television room is a lovely room, but even with the drapes closed 100% of the time, the room gets very warm. The A/C in the kitchen can be used to cool it. No windows open in that room.
Bobbie (9/5): Centoia Stay--Fantastic Couple of Weeks - Wonderful, responsive hosts. Pool cleaned every morning in an unobtrusive way. Pool furniture and mattresses were excellent! Refrigerator cooled well and freezer was perfect. Bright overhead lighting in bedrooms was a bonus--rare in Italy. Screens in every room--another rarity! This allowed us to enjoy the fresh air of the cooler evenings and kept ALL mosquitoes OUT! Covered parking was also appreciated. The oven overheated each time, but the owner provided us with an air fryer to use while we were there. Unlocking/locking the gate each time we left or put out the trash was a small nuisance because we had rain almost each day. Still, we did enjoy the security and privacy. The dogs across the street barked a lot, and it took us a while to fall asleep. The rest of the environment was peacefully quiet.
