Guest Reviews

- Lottie (8/5): - Stayed in a tent one night, comfy but not much privacy from other huts. Also expensive for what it was. Would recommend a hut instead as had private bathroom and larger space. Can rent bikes from owner for competitive price. Currently building something in the middle of the area so noisy with construction work. Good if you’re out early for majority of the day.
- Jasper (8/5): -
- NITA (10/5): - Nice place, good price for rent a scooter, clean and the breakfast is really good!
- Alexandra (5/5): Rustic bungalows but maybe a bit too close to each other - I love the bungalow vibe. The bathroom was pretty big. The breakfast was super. The beach is a few steps away. The bed was very uncomfortable you could feel the spring. But that's what you paid for...
Bungalows are so close that you can hear everything and if you get the wrong neighbors hard to sleep....also we do not smoke but all others did and all the smoke and weed smell came to our bungalow(not the host fault just for information) ... Not very nice when you just want to enjoy the nature... When we complained they gave us another room where the mattress was better and a bit less smoker...

- Anthony Keir (8/5): Great value for money - Cabin had everything we needed and very comfortable beds. Free breakfast was a nice touch at this price, and the hosts were always available and provided help regarding onwards travel. Low ceilings and creaky bamboo floors in cabin were a bit uncomfortable (I thought I may fall through!), but not too much of an issue given the low price.

- Anna (7/5): -
Merci 😊
- Stefania (10/5): Nice place close to everything - Always available
- Nassrat (10/5): Wunderschöne Erfahrung nah an Strand, günstige Trips, nette entspannte Leute - - nette Menschen
- Versorgung

- Amanda Patricia (8/5): - Very nice staff and include breakfast
- Tom (7/5): Paid £123 for three nights for two people which we felt was too much - Staff were very friendly and helped out a lot Shower was cold and bang for buck
- Kareece (6/5): Basic - Close to the beach. I booked when it had a discount so it wasn't too expensive. The bed in the tent was very comfy, and the tent came with a fan and light. The bathroom was awful. It had these large aggressive insects that would dive bomb you when you tried to have a shower. No mirror or hooks in the bathroom.
The tent had a large hole so def wasnt insect proof.
Most of the staff were not friendly or welcoming, only on the last day was there a different staff member (a younger guy) who was the only one who said hello and smiled at me.
- Valentin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seamus (7/5): Good - If you actually want to stay in a bamboo hut with no AC or hot water and sleep under a mosquito net because you think it’s rustic then this is for you Door frames were a bit small and I’d prefer an actual sealed room but if you know what you’re getting into it’s fine
- Alex (7/5): Good - Sleeping in a tent was acceptable, rather comfortable, the fan was available, but it wasn't too hot at all. Good mattress, soft enough. The singing coming from the nearby mosque is guaranteed to wake you up twice - at 5:30 and 5:45 am.
- Clifford (10/5): Exceptional - Staff pleasant and helpful
- Laura (7/5): Good -
- Harry (9/5): Superb -
- Renee (6/5): You get what you pay for… very simple basic huts, good location. Helpful owner, not overly friendly tho. On a budget it’ - Cheap when on a tight budget, breakfast included.
- Keelan (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Roopesh (9/5): Superb -
- Wegge (8/5): Good location,good value,good staff. -
- Michele (7/5): Good - The owner is super nice! Organized the phi phi tour for us at a reasonable price. When we decided to leave the room and not stay he even gave us the money back. Unfortunately, we got a room with a lot of bugs so we decided to change place. We got our money back though, the owner was very very nice 🙂
- Harry (10/5): Friendly, clean, breakfast was lovely - highly recommend -
- Beatriz (10/5): Quiet, private and relaxing - The space itself is amazing, quite simple yet comfortable. The couple that runs the bungalows is extremely kind and helpful, whether you need help with renting a scooter, getting to your next destination or simply finding a nice place to eat. The breakfast is also nutritious and abundant, just overall amazing value for money
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were incredibly generous, helpful, and caring.
We were both sick with gut bugs and they offered us electrolytes, food, and a trip to the doctor.
That asides the scooter rental is affordable, it was peaceful and calm, and we would definitely stay again if passing through Koh Lantab:) lots of critters so if that's not your thing then probably not the place for you, but we didn't mind
- Bodhi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ross (9/5): Superb - Very basic, but it was a really nice 1 night stay.
The staff are lovely.
We booked transfer to Railay with them and think we got a good price.
We also left our phone when we checked out. LLH sent a scooter to meet us on the way to the ferry! Amazing service, thank you so much!!! 🙏
- Ewan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was ansowme ! They are so welcoming and here for you, if you have any questions, need you can ask them ! I recommend
- Niamh (6/5): Great for a few days. Excellent bike hire. Nice owners - Nice private balcony with hammock and chair. We originally only booked a 3 nights but ended up extending to 5 or 6. (Slight mistake). Hired moped off the owner- great bike excellent condition and great price definitely rent off of him, and the owner and his wife are so lovely. They let me put my beers in their fridge to stay cool. Garden area is nice and you can park your bike next to your hut. On the 4th night we got bedbugs. So 3 nights would have been fine they wouldn’t haven’t smelt you out yet maybe 😅 haha. But yeah it was annoying I got a fair few. My mosquito net had a million holes. But my husband bed had a great brand new mosquito net. But I slept under his shared the single mattress as I didn’t want to get bitten and got bedbugs on both as thought it’d just be my mattress
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice owners
- Rowan (7/5): Cute bungalows but not on the beach and be prepared for a lot of bugs. -
- Mike (7/5): Good - Really nice location, right next to the beach and some good restaurants in walking distance. The staff is great and offers the best price for transfer and activities !! Bungalow is simple but has everything you need. There is a mosque right next to the place, that starts to make loud noise at 5:00 am. Might be because of ramadan though.
If you are not a fan of insects, you better pass this location. Window in the bathroom is always open, nice invitation for various insects.
- R (8/5): Very good - I liked the coziness and natural looking bungalow. I felt much nature around it even though there were some bugs and mosquitoes appear sometimes.
The bathroom was very spacious and clean.
Less than 5 minutes walk to the beach.
Very close to shops and restaurants, 7 eleven. Not for the People who have problems with bugs and mosquitoes.
- Thea (7/5): Lovely family run bungalows - Family-run property right next to the beach, friendly owners and great location, comfortable beds and hammocks, chill atmosphere, good Wi-Fi Bathroom could be cleaner and the door would need some reparation, insects in the rooms, the facilities are very basic, but the price is great
- Angel (4/5): Nice location, lots of bugs everywhere. - The hammock and location. It was very unsanitary. Not a lot of room in the actual room.
- Tom (10/5): Amazing stay, Arun was super friendly and helpful. - Really cool location, awesome huts haven't seen anything like it before. Arun was super helpful and friendly and helped us book a Snorkelling tour. Rooms a bit hot but the fan did the trick.
Bathroom might be a bit unclean for some peoples liking but I've seen worse in Hostels! Didn't bother us.
- Otman (10/5): We want more people like Arun!! - Arun my man!! He is just an angel, a beautiful soul. He helped us with everything we needed and right at the moment. We really loved staying there mostly because of him. Everything was perfect! The bungalow was comfy clean and peaceful.
- Yasaman (4/5): Meh - Closeness to beach Owners gave me a really weird vibe, asking questions and not so friendly
The place looks like a desert, so hot with no tree shades to cool some of the bungalows down
Really run-down
I found a new bungalow at a resort nearby and left asap!!
- Dyrda (9/5): Superb -
- Dyrda (9/5): Superb -
- Mariia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmin (7/5): Basic and pleasant. - We loved the location. It was close to EVERYTHING and walking distance to good food. There was so much open space and area between all the huts that it was so relaxing and felt so private at the same time.
The couple that manages these huts, Arun and Sakinah, were so friendly and welcoming, offering food recommendations and giving us the best rates for all the activities in Koh Lanta.
The hammock on the porch was the best thing. This was a great space that will tick all the right boxes if you're looking for a basic hut experience. There was no hot water in the shower (which I knew ahead of time, so it was not their fault). Rather, they were kind enough to offer me use of their personal bathroom so I could have access to hot water.
Also, due to extremely strong winds, dirt kept coming through the roof of the hut into the room. Again, such strong winds were unusual and unfortunately coincided with our stay there. They were kind enough to clean it up when I requested.
- Nykola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (5/5): You get what you pay for. - Friendly and helpful owners. In a central area in Koh Lanta. You can book trips and rent motor bikes right there. It was very affordable. There was cockroaches, the mosquito nets were in poor condition with many holes, the bed sheets didn’t feel clean, very simple bamboo huts kinda felt like the door might break under you. Was more like camping, which is fine if that’s what you are looking for.
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Great four days. Great location. Great people. Great scooter deal. Will go again. - Wonderful people and a great location. A real gem for the price! Please realise you are booking a hut. A nice clean hut in a great location run by lovely people. But remember you are booking a hut.
- Ella (8/5): Very good -
- Oriol (1/5): Don't go! Infested with cockroaches - Don't go! Don't go! Place was infested with all kind of bugs and cockroaches. When I did my check-in I already saw many mosquitoes, spiders and a lizard inside the bungalow, but decided to let it go since I was in a rush and they were only on the walls and corners of the room, but when I arrived late at night, there were many cockroaches around the bed, floor, walls, even inside my backpack.
I had to leave the place at 3 am to find somewhere else to stay since this was completely disgusting.
- Molly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bradshaw (10/5): 5 night stay in twin room - We had our own little wooden hut for the 5 night we stayed in Koh Lanta. There was a hammock on the porch for relaxing in and we had our own private ensuite too. The staff went above and beyond for us and they even picked us up from the pier after we'd returned a scooter. They were extremely helpful and they also helped us book our bus tickets to Koh Sok for the cheapest price we found on the island. We ended up staying 1 more night as the island is so beautiful and the staff were quick to accommodate us. A great stay and a needed break from shared dorms in hostels! We battled with some cockroaches during our stay and although there was only a fan at night, we soon acclimatised to the heat.
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - Authentic, value for money, very close to the beach
- Red (10/5): Exceptional - Great accomodation for the price and lovely staff!! Couldn’t have asked for more! We had a great time 10/10
- Moa (8/5): Very good -
- Katie (7/5): Great, cosy bungalows close to beach, cheap and cheerful. - I loved our little bungalow. We had a private bathroom and little porch with hammock. The area is also a 2 min walk away from the beach and lots of good restaurants. Also great value for money. The bedroom itself could’ve been cleaner- it’s felt a little dirty and dusty.
- Karolina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Indigo (10/5): Wonderful stay at Lanta local hut - Lanta local hut is such a find. Run by lovely helpful people , the huts are spacious and comfortable and the bonus of your own bathroom. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach. After staying in other huts in the same price range I found lanta local to be exceptional.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice owners and the hut was excellent!
Thank you Arun!
- Ariadna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jade (8/5): Very good - It was pretty peaceful and there beds and pillows were pretty comfy good value for money The shower was cold
- Noemi (10/5): Exceptional - It is a cozy and peaceful place. I really enjoy my stay, out of the crowed part of the city and very close, just 2 min walking, to the beach! The room wasn’t so clear.
- Nadiya (9/5): Superb - The owners were absolutely incredible. Helped us out with tours, pick ups from the ferry port and laundry. So helpful and kind. The huts are well equipped with everything you need in there. And a nice hammock to relax on! Amazing value for money in an amazing location. If you can't deal with bugs and geckos then this won't be the place for you. But if you can move past that, you will enjoy the stay here.
- Anonymous (8/5): Excellent really enojyed it for 3 nights! We have stayed in much worse hostels for alot more money, I would really recom - If you’re looking to stay in a hut this is the place for you, you are paying for what you get and it is basic but perfect for 3 nights. We really enjoyed staying here and loved the hammock outside. Theres lovely places to eat on the beach with pool tables very close by and you can rent a moped from them for a good price. It does get very very hot in there but your provided with a strong fan so you’ll be fine. The only downside is that you might get violated by the mosquitoes as I did but this is inevitable as your staying in a hut. You might get lucky, you might not be so lucky. Also the shower is quite weak but you still have a functioning toilet room so it’s manageable for 3 nights.
