Cathryn (10/5): The Customer is ALWAYS the Customer - As we are traveling regularly throughout the school year to visit (and pickup) our daughter at Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, we wanted to find a hotel that met our needs. After several stays at other hotels in Terre Haute (including other Hilton brand hotels), we feel that this location offered us the best, overall, in terms of sleep, comfort, and amenities. We had two unfortunate experiences on our 1st two stays at this hotel - both involving a 2nd shift employee named Shayla. On our 1st stay (11/21-11/22), we chose our room via the App, selecting a room other than what was recommended. When we arrived and used our digital key, we found our room without a TV. We returned to the Front Desk to inform them and the employee, Shayla (without looking up at me), stated she was aware the room had no TV and said that someone had tried to call us. I checked my phone for a call during our 9.5 hr drive from Georgia but found nothing. I commented we hadn't received a call and, again, without looking up, she smacked a post-it note down on the counter with my husband's name and my cell number, as if that was proof that a call was made. At this point, I simply wanted a new room and asked her to assign us one, which she did - all while too busy to look up at me. On our return stay (11/29-11/30), we'd booked using booking.com, securing payment for it in September. We checked-in on the App and selected our room that AM. When we arrived, we went to our room (#103) but the digital key had not been confirmed. We returned to the Front Desk where Shayla was, once again, working. I explained the situation and she told me the card for the room had failed and that I owed $118.68. I showed her my confirmation from booking.com, including my PayPal confirmation and she told me that I would need to contact Booking.com or pay the $118.68 to gain access to the room. I stated that I contracted with the hotel for my stay (via booking.com) and that if the 'card' had failed, it was between the hotel and booking.com - not me, as I had proof of receipt of my payment. She again told me to contact booking.com. Unfortunately, they use AI which was insufficient for rectifying our current situation.

Penny (6/5): - I was in town with my elderly mother for her 65th class reunion. I booked a handicap accessible room expecting a roll in shower per the description. However, it was a bathtub with a pull down seat instead. I would also suggest in handicap accessible room that you put a recliner in place of the regular chair as many elderly seniors choose to sleep in recliners because it is too hard to get into a bed.
Verified traveler (2/5): Lack of service - No room service and I ran out of towels. Tissue ran out the first day but no service meant no more tissues. Bathtub backed up and would not drain properly.
Verified traveler (2/5): They gave away our room - I paid for a room with two beds for my brother and me. When we arrived my room was given to someone on the volleyball group that had arrived. We had just traveled in five hours away and my brother had to sleep in a small pull away bed. No compensation … no “sorry” nothing. Our room wasn’t even set up with the extra bed we had to go down stairs and request it at 3am when we arrived.

Johanna (8/5): another work trip - Overall it was a nice stay. I travel for work, and spend a lot of nights in hotels in the midwest. This was a clean hotel. It took awhile to find me a room to check into with a reservation. its near a variety of places to eat. and close to shopping if needed.

Jennie (6/5): We Inconvenience front desk - Everything was wonderful outside of the front desk lady. She wasn't there to help guest. We had to call the hotel to get her to come out of the side room and wait on us. When we arrived she told us there were no vacancies. I went out to the parking lot and was able to make reservations for 2 rooms for my family of 8. On line it showed multiple room available. She acted like we were interrupting her lunch break or something. Hotel was nice, clean and perfect.

Lawrence (8/5): - Nice large bathroom with walk-in shower and decent amenities and plenty of countertop space with an extra ledge behind and above the sink, strange door to bathroom you can either close the bathroom or close the closet, but not both since it’s the same one sliding door, desk had easy to access electrical outlet and USB recharging ports, alarm clock had shadow casting digits and no way to set the correct the time.
Eric (1/5): Great at the beginning and horrific at the end. - Upon checkout I was charged an extra $80 that I was told would be put back on my card when checking out. The 80 was a "refundable pet deposit and safety deposit. The staff didn't even look at my room and charged me for everything. My dogs didn't mess anything up and was in their cages all but three hours while I stayed there.

Reception/breakfast area had a large table allowing for large family gatherings and socialising over pizza. Breakfast great kids loved waffle maker and good range of hot and cold buffet options. Hot options changed daily. Walmart just across the road and plenty of restaurants in area Would recommend if passing through or visiting family Pool was a little cool for the kids

My travel companions found a pair of jeans left in their room. There was a barking dog on the floor nearby. Overall, everything looked sub par in cleanliness. The hotel room tv did not have an ABC channel. Overall, average to poor condition for a Hampton Inn.

I could tell there was dirt in the grooves of the tile. Maybe I am just too particular, but for sanitation it should have appeared cleaner.
