Guest Reviews
- Gutierrez (1/5): - Muy feo lugar esta muy sucio y huele feo Todo esta muy mal sucio y huele bien feo
- Herrera (9/5): -
- Brian (3/5): Paper thin walls - So close to mopac.and walls are paper thin. The traffic noise was pretty unbearable. It was clean but I had some bugs in the bed. Not bed bugs I'm pretty sure but little flying insects. Paper thin walls
- Braden (8/5): - We liked our room, it was very clean and organized upon arrival. Staff was friendly. This is a nice option for budget-friendly lodging.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Heart review - Easy booking. Clean and quiet.
Pricey, yet they get away with it for the area
- DARRYLL (10/5): - .
- Shawna (6/5): - Bed was uncomfortable, but the room was clean. The mini fridge was loud, I had to unplug it so I could sleep.
- Jon (8/5): - Needs a good paint brush and touch up and remodeling work. Following needs to be fix : 1. Light fixture in room needs repair. 2. Door does not close and lock to bathroom
Beds were very comfortable. Air Conditioner worked good.
Good nights rest. Very clean room. We enjoyed our rest.
- Jon A (8/5): - It was clean but needs some paint brush and repair in restroom door. Would not lock.Good comfortable beds. Thanks for restful sleep.
- Emily (4/5): Not worth it - There were unknown stains on the bedding and towels. The a/c was turned completely off when we got in (in the start of summer) and did not comfortably cool the room during our 3 night stay.
- Robert (6/5): - The was pretty clean, not perfect. The outside of the hotel needs a spruce up
- Michael (2/5): - Subsequently left after finding dirt all over my room and bedsheets
- James (10/5): - Good location.
- Misael (2/5): - Last time
- Michael (10/5): - The staff were friendly and courteous. The property is older but my room was very clean and comfortable.
- Belinda (2/5): Quality was not like the pictures nor was the service the best - The property was in a convenient location for what we were needing I have stayed at numerous hotels averaging about 3 to 4 times a month for work around the same dollar amount. We were stuck in a room where the AC did not work it blew just air.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay stay - The motel is fairly run-down and there are no special amenities like breakfast, a pool, or room service. The pictures I saw online make it look really nice, but I was a little unsure at first when I got there and saw it. I even checked for two-way mirrors because I thought, “where did I bring my child to stay?!” I always bring my own pillow and I was glad I had because the two on my bed were really yellowed, lumpy, and stained. The fridge had a leak so the pizza box we put in it got soaked. The room had an odd smell that we never were ever able to place, and the lights didn’t turn on right away- there was like a three to five second delay. But. There were zero bugs of any kind, the shower had hot water, the AC worked, and the mattresses were comfortable and clean. The room itself was clean- no carpet so that was a plus. I think for the overall condition of the place and the room it was over-priced, but it was still cheaper than most places around.
- nancy (4/5): Close to BSW Health Hospital - The place is right next to BSWHealth Hospital I stay to be closer to hospital while my husband was in hospital. The place has allot of work needed If your looking for cheap is worth the money One bed was made with new sheets one had been slept in & shower curtain so bad I can’t describe it bad … I stayed I was to tried to leave … it could be an awesome place with some work
- Verified traveler (2/5): Better and safer options in town… - Been a member of Hotels.com for many years and this is the first time we pulled into a hotel and could not stay at the property. The staff was helpful but the rooms smelled very bad and were not clean. There also were people milling around the parking lot looking into cars. We asked to cancel and left. The property owner would not refund our money and that is unfortunate but we did not want to stay in an unsafe environment with poor cleanliness. I don’t usually write poor reviews but hope this one helps others choose a different hotel along the road. Thanks to the evening staff person for trying to convince us to stay, she was very kind.
- Jay (10/5): - The owners were very nice and accomodating.
Quiet place, no crackheads beating on your door at 3am like some S.Austin motels i tried first.
- Adrian (6/5): - Close to work for me. Quiet
- Ronald (5/5): We needed a cheap place to stay to go to a concert and this fit the bill. - I liked that we were able to stay on the first floor and park right in front of the door making unloading easy. The fact they had a working ice machine was just what we needed too. We had a big cooler to ice down after a 6 hour drive. The guy at the front desk was accommodating. The property was on our way to the concert and on our way home which made things easy. Look...it's a cheap place to stay and easy access to the rooms. There's no breakfast or pool which I'm fine with. Most places just serve junk anyway. The towels were not clean and stunk. The property wasn't that nice and kinda sketchy looking honestly but we were only staying one night and left at checkout and went home. It worked out fine. The room was real hot when we got there too and it took a while to cool down. Thank god we had somewhere to go while it cooled down which took several hours. Overall, not bad.
- Marcos (7/5): Good -
- Timothy (5/5): Passable - I didn’t get bed bugs. Sheets and towels were old and stained. Ceiling was caving in.
- James (8/5): - Cheap cost to stay . You get what you pay for
- cynthia (8/5): - The property was a little hard to get to due to one way streets around the location. They also did not offer breakfast but did have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The room was clean no smells no bugs.
- Andrew (4/5): Not recommended. - Not the worst motel that I have stayed in, but I would not be returning.
My friend and I were accosted by a drunk long term resident as we were leaving our rooms.
Woken at one a.m. by another guest hammering on my door claiming a medical emergency. She hammered on a number of doors. When spoken to by the manager (sworn at) she disappeared into the room next to mine, where I could hear her aguing with someone.
- Nicholas (6/5): - Stay was ok. The guy we checked in with was very nice, not sure his name. Older Motel, so it was relatively clean for what it is. The walls could use some attention. I would stay again if I needed a cheap place to stay on the south west side.
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Nikita (6/5): Would stay again - Soft bed. Caring staff. Good location.
- Nikita (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gerald (9/5): Ok - Nice comfortable unit. Two story no first floor unit available.
- Marlene (9/5): better than expected - next to highway but quiet with the air conditioner on outside of building looks a little old but room was refurbished, comfortable bed
- Brandon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (4/5): Disappointing -
- Michael (8/5): Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room - location was convenient for my needs, room was nice and relatively clean, bed was comfortable.
ac worked good. shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. for a hotel right off the main road, it was quiet. parking spaces were a bit smaller and angled so
some bigger vehicles were too close or double parked. no vent in the bathroom, the cost of the room per night was way too much ,- I ended up paying about the same as I would if I had stayed in a Sheraton or a Hilton Garden however i couldnt find a cheaper place to stay since the University of Texas football game was being played probably causing prices to get jacked up for accommodations.
- Robin (6/5): - Good value. Pillow cases had hair on them, otherwise the room was clean. A little loud in the morning as people left for the day.
- Trinidad A (2/5): - The place was very dirty. Trash and beer bottles outside. We went to the room and the first thing is the TV did not work. There was no batteries in the remote. My husband had to go get the batteries at night. We are now watching TV and there are guys outside the window sounds like they are yelling. We slept and woke up to bred up blood on the sheets. We checked my grand daughter -nothing. Checked my daughter-nothing. So then we realized that we slept on dirty bloody sheets. I go to complained to the managers and not even a sorry. Not exceptabe.
- Jason (10/5): - Room was clean, the AC worked, had decent bathroom and shower. Parking lot was well lit and the lady at the front desk was nice. Thanks!
- Leticia (10/5): - Front desk nice service
- Chris (6/5): - Rooms was clean and bed was good. Outside was not good at all. I would like a customer leery to stay there.
- Brad (6/5): It’s a place to sleep but hopefully it’s cheap. - I’ve never paid so much to stay in such a sketchy motel. Room was fine. Dead bugs but at least they were dead. Shower was terrible. Area was questionable but I didn’t have any issues. Will not return. When my friends picked me up they offered to just have me stay with them instead.
- Albert (3/5): Next time I will happily pay an extra $20 to stay somewhere much nicer. - It was cheaper than the other hotels in the area. We did not die. Our car was not broken into or stolen. The hotel itself was old, worn out, and not well maintained. It appeared to be clean but the room stank pretty bad. We did not feel safe at this location. When we arrived at around 2:00pm and then when we got back to the hotel at around 1:00 a.m. there were people standing outside the motel. I'm pretty sure they were selling drugs. With that said we were not accosted and our vehicle was fine in the morning.
- Isaac (10/5): Second time here - Great stay, second time here.
- Joseph (3/5): I will never stay at this hostel again. - They do not have breakfast! There were no clean bath towels and all but two towels had bad stains on them. Everything.
- Leovardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Esther (2/5): - The condition of the room was poor, but having to sleep in sorry bedding... That was disgusting. We would have moved but we arrived late and had no options. We laid our own beach towels on the bed so we didn't have to touch the sheets. It was bad.
The desk attendant was very nice and helpful.
- Jessica (2/5): - Very disappointing. Roaches in fridge and roach traps around the fridge. Bathroom and cigarette burns all on the wall. Have pictures.
- Larry (10/5): - The exterior could use updated paint, but the room was absolutely excellent, both in how it was laid out, the cleanliness, and care taken by staff. Everything was very positive during our stay.
- Mandy (4/5): - Roaches. Small roaches everywhere.
- Craig (7/5): Good for The Circuit of the Americas (20 miles) . Would use again but was concerned on arrival - The cleanliness is good. Easy check-in. Easy access to the main highway. Rooms were surprisingly comfortable The place looks very tired from the outside, to the point where I thought it was shutdown. The Wi-Fi was sketchy in my room. The cost was high for the quality of property, probably due to the event I was attending at the Circuit of the Americas.
- Timothy (2/5): - The sheets and blankets were stained and everything just looked gross.
- Donna (7/5): Good for the money. - Just a quick easy place to stay. No frills. Just a room. Main reason I rated good. Parking was a little difficult as no circle drive.
- James (8/5): Slept well. - I knew this was an older hotel because one of my Uncles was the master carpenter who helped build it. The rooms are clean as long as you don't move furniture or look too closely at the walls. When I turned on the lights our little friends the roaches where all around the bathroom and vanity area. The white blankets had past stains, but they were clean. The beds were comfortable and the hotel staff was attentive and as some guests were playing loud music after 10pm the staff seemed to handle that well. Tiny roaches are not a deal breaker for me. They live in drains and the overflow of sinks and baths and are difficult to eradicate in older buildings.
- Carl (2/5): - Adequate
- Erika (6/5): Pleasant - The outside appareance is worse than the room.
the staff is kind Blanket and towels need a serious change
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): - Just fine for a low price hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. I’ve stayed here before and I’ll stay here again.
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Arthur (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (2/5): - When we drove into the parking lot at around 1030 pm there where people sitting on the steps of the motel, to be honest I think they were probably homeless people not even staying there. When I parked to go into the office, I told my wife to lock the door to the vehicle, I did not see this happen, but some strange guy came running out of a room and almost landed on the Expedia (Fox) rental vehicle scaring my wife. The fellow inside the office was very nice and I asked him if the area was safe which he assured me it was but did say there is occasionally homeless people in the area. I got the key, and we went into the room, the room was dark, the comforters on the beds where stained in a couple areas each, and I lifted the sheets off the top mattress and the mattress was yellow and fluid stained. I proceeded to the bathroom where in one if the corners were small granules which I honestly believe were from cockroaches. I told my wife to get back in the car and I returned the key to the front desk guy explaining that we would not be staying. This is a fairly run-down hotel, and I was shocked that this hotel was represented by Expedia and for this reason I have deleted my Expedia app. This is rated a 3.5/5 on Expedia when it is at most a 2 star and that's being more than fair.
- Gina (6/5): - Heart of Texas was ok. It was the only "affordable" option in Austin for a quick overnight, so I wasn't expecting much. Room was clean but white bed covers had some stains stains. Towels were small and worn. Bed was pretty comfortable. Room was quiet despite property being located right on the highway. Property was pretty rundown. The guy that checked me in was not particularly friendly. If you just need a cheap place to sleep, it's okay
- Greg (8/5): - Nice and clean, was able to park very close
- Jason (8/5): - it was fine for two guys to stay overnight but i wouldn't stay there with my family had a couple strange encounters with others staying there
- James (8/5): - Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I really liked that the room had a microwave, fridge and coffee in the room. The ice machine was full and a great convenience. I was pleased with the shower. Ceiling fan was a plus. The towels were thin and small.
The outside was a little scary, but ending up being safe.
- Stephanie (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ann (7/5): Good -
- Michael (6/5): - The place in kinda rundown on the outside. There were a lot of "dayworkers" hanging around the parking lot in the afternoon, evenings drinking. They made my daughter very uncomfortable ( lots of staring and watching us.) At one point there was gunshots at the far end of the building.
The rooms were nice but sparse. Two towels, one tiny bar of soap...for two days. Tv worked. The microwave must have been the first model ever made. There was a small refrigerator. The place in minutes from walmart and target which was good. The location was good for our purposes of hiking the greenbelt.
- Henry (8/5): Pleasant Surprise - Older hotel, showing its age, but, one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was super clean, with plenty of condiments for morning coffee.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Mean very rude; bedbugs - Very mean lady at the front when asking about bed bugs. She got mad and dint address the issue and closed the window on me.
- Kelman (2/5): - Disty hotel
- Ricky (8/5): - Great service from the staff. The room was clean but it was noisy from other guests. Traffic was that bad in that area.
- Teresa (8/5): Pretty good - Decent place for the price. A little run down looking, but new roof. Long stairs to 2nd floor, no elevator. Cheap towels. But room furniture was nice, w/ 3 chairs plus a little table, in our 2 dbl bed room. A/c was good.
- Tamara (2/5): - the duvet was very dirty, I never found anyone at reception to ask to change it, the bed was hard, the smell on the stairs was unpleasant. It only took one night to rest and it was impossible
- Chase Michael (10/5): - Cleanliness and price
- randy (8/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. Room nicely updated. A/C and hot water worked well. Wish the beds were queen instead of double.
- Andrea (4/5): - Front desk was rude, stupid, cost us valuable time, tried to double bill us. Property trashy covered in beer bottles.
- Kamal (8/5): - I liked the comfort beds in the room.
- TEREZA (10/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful, checking was very fast.
- Holland (6/5): Hotel for Truckers - It was a very old hotel, but it was clean enough. We only needed a place to sleep and get dressed, so it was fine. If I was on vacation and planning to spend much time at the hotel, I wouldn’t stay here.
- Alex (4/5): - Picture lie, floors dirty, shows that the bed sheets had stains but may not been wash, no towels,
- Jorge (2/5): - I checked in around 10pm and quickly noticed how filthy the room was. Worst of all it was full of bugs. I left the next morning and notified management that I would not return due to the bugs. They say they could not refund my money so I called Expedia and they helped resolve the issue.
- Douglas (10/5): - The staff were very nice to me and my wife. We did have to put our dog in overnight boarding elsewhere, but I understand the hotel's policy on no pets. Otherwise, very nice accommodations at a very reasonable price.
- Peter (8/5): - It's reasonably priced, relatively close to downtown and has all the necessities. But it is next to highway and noisy. They provide grills outside but nobody bothered to clean after they were used over the weekend and trash was all over the front of the hotel.
- Dustin (10/5): Second stay, nice room, slept well - My second stay at this motel. I had a nice room with a king bed, ceiling fan, and working smoke detector. There is traffic noise from the adjacent highway but I use a white noise generator so no problem. I slept well.
The fridge and some furnishings have seen better times but the price could not be beat. I felt safe. The desk clerks were friendly. I would stay here again.
- Luiz (2/5): - AC did not work. Woke up with back pain from the bed
- Suzie (10/5): - The Heart of Texas Motel is a older but clean motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Heart of Texas Motel - Glad to stay there, Austin messy that weekend formula 1.Staff very helpful. Great trip.
- Desirie (10/5): - Very nice rooms
- Bettina (10/5): Clean, comfortable older motel - Comfortable space. Easy to locate via GPS. Older motel, family owned and operated. Support small business.
Very clean.
- Payton (2/5): - Stain on all bedding. Door would not stay shut and front desk associate told me when I arrived he was about to sell my room even though I tried to pay over the phone and was told I cannot. Not a recommend.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The management seemed less then enthused about my girlfriend and I staying there for the ACL festival. The room was mostly clean other than markings all over the walls by/in the bathroom. The outside area was
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Definitely a no-frills place; older, but it was clean and close to the job I was working.
The owners were friendly and efficient.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh. - Room was pretty clean, aside from some spill of maybe soda (?), on the walls? Also, the sticky fly trap in the bathroom was pretty gross.
- Carlos (2/5): - I couldn’t get Hotels.com to book me there, I am very dissatisfied with Hotels.com.
- Kurt (8/5): - We decided to make a last minute trip to area and this was one of the very few reasonable properties available. I was a little worried and was pleasantly surprised. The front desk person(manager and/or owner I think) was very nice. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the place was quiet. It’s an older place and there are some things that need attention like paint in bathroom area & ceiling water stains. Overall, it was a good place to stay overnight for us.
- Cindy L (8/5): Good stay, older place but maintained. - It was clean. The air conditioner worked well but was really loud, turning on and off too much, disturbing sleep. The staff were helpful.
- Jeremy (4/5): - I got back to my room at 1am and there was a party going on down stairs. I was ok with it untill 3 am came around, so i went out side to look and there was atleas 10 ppl out side drinking and yelling and playing loud music. When i came out the next mourning there was alot of beer cans everywhere on the ground and street as if it was a major college party. Even then i have never seen so many beer cans just laying on the ground
- Dustin (8/5): Good Motel for a budget stay - Last minute reservation, this was the least extensive hotel available. One of the coverings on one bed was stained and the fire alarm had been stolen. The bathroom suite was very new and quite nice. The beds were ok, maybe a little hard. Room looked freshly painted. Sleep was good, we like to run a white noise vector generator while we sleep so we didn't hear much from outside. Perfect place for people who just need a bed and bath. Lots of workers with pickups parked in the lot, so good for people who need to control cost. Right off the freeway, and a Waffle House nearby. Our coffee maker didn't work.
- Hector (8/5): - The air conditioner worked good in the hot Texas heat.
