- Scott (6/5): Website is accurate - Hotels.com misrepresents - Brad is the host at Wauban Cottage and he is great. The place was extremely clean. The only issue is that Expedia and Hotels.com misrepresented the room we stayed in. The website by Brad was very clear that the bathroom for our room was across the hall. Hotels.com said it was ensuite and also private but not separate. Brad was unaware and apologized, unfortunately he has not control over how Hotels.com presents. Please go to website for accuracy.

- Tcashion (10/5): Yes on Wauban Cottage! - Nice Bed & Breakfast. Great hosts, great facility. Cottage was built in 1895 (I think). I'm picky about mattresses - usually too soft or hard, but ours was perfect. Nice porch to relax on. Really enjoyed our stay. And Northport is a cool village to hang out in. Highly recommend Wauban Cottage!

We especially enjoyed the screened in front porch which made for a pleasant evening of just relaxing and taking in the north country. Our host, Brad, was very personable and attentive. His dog, Max, won our hearts from the moment we arrived. We highly recommend Wauben Cottage and look forward to staying here again.

- Pat (10/5): - I stayed for 2 nights and it was fine. I was there for an event and couldn't find a nearby hotel room, but this opened up literally at the last minute. It was expensive, but I was grateful to have found a room. We were out the door early, before their 8am breakfast but Brad was gracious and tried to get food set out earlier for us. It was quite a limited menu, same thing both days. Other reviews mentioned the mattresses needing replacement but mine was just fine. Room was clean, the place was charming and far more interesting than a hotel room. Best part aside from the hosts was the screened in porch. A nice place to chill before heading to sleep.

Just what you are looking for to get away from it it all, but just steps away from the water and amenities. Brad and Annette have created something special. Very welcoming, but yet, more than a bed and breakfast. We made a small vacation out of attending the car show and Brad was more than accommodating with our truck and trailer.

- vickieedetroit (6/5): Coasting? Blah breakfast, not a special place - We wanted to love Wauban Cottage, but there were too many misses and not enough hits. The pillows were thin and the sheets not high quality. No beach towels or extras available. A portion of the garden was blocked off and the wrap around porch was being used for storage. The breakfast was basic - an egg, potato and cheese casserole served with store bought bread for toast, with nothing special and nothing for vegans and vegetarians or those avoiding cholorestol. And our hosts served the exact same breakfast two days in a row. Yes, the grounds are lovely and it's walkable to Northport village. Rooms were clean and serviceable but no little extras. So if you want a truly special place with exceptional breakfasts go somewhere else.

The owners are super friendly and available for any questions and recommendations around town. The cottage is in proximity to the swimable part of the Marina and can walk to the center/restaurants. I so believe we had the best room! I believe there is total of 5 rooms in the cottage. We had Room #4 and it was very spacious and no issues. Yes, being that is an old building, it has the original hardwood floors that squeak when you walk, but over all very well kept and clean.
- alan (10/5): - I had room number 4 which has a queen bed and a huge bathroom with 2 windows. High ceilings. House was built in 1895. Nice porch. Annette makes delicious sweets. 5 minute walk to center of Northport where there is a big Tom's supermarket, a bakery and several restaurants.
- lauriejB4537SM (2/5): Keep searching this is not the place . - If you like small, a mattress that felt as old as the house and black mold in the bathroom then this place is for you. The mattress was so bad that I put the seats down in my SUV and slept there the first night. I was booked for 2 nights but did not stay the 2nd night it was bad.

The stairway to this room is very odd to say the least. Very steep with very low over heads. But we made the best of it. Bed was a bit worn we rolled towards the middle. The location to town was great.! Very easily walked . Itâs a great part of the country to visit.! And the hosts were very friendly. And the place was super clean.

Very safe, clean, historic, comfortable and pleasant. A true bed and breakfast with local ownership on premises. - Ellyn (8/5): - This is an old restored house that was converted into a B&B. It was very comfortable and a short, walkable distance from downtown Northport. The screened porch was a great place to chat with friends. Breakfast was nice, but not many options for those on restricted diets. All in all it was a very nice place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Away from noise and crowds of Traverse City.

The house is just a few blocks from "downtown" and the lake. A light breakfast was served in the morning and coffee, water and cookies were available throughout the day. - MargaretC2773 (8/5): Great Friends Trip - This property is quaint and quiet. It takes you back to a simple lifestyle without rush or concern for the outside world. The late 19th century house sits on 2 acres and is walking distance to town. Brad made campfires every night we were there. They were wonderful as we enjoyed the crisp evenings, stargazing, watching satellites flying above and even shooting stars. Breakfast is served in the dining room - eggs, toast, hash browns, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. Coffee or tea always available in the dining room, plus it has a small community refrigerator for leftovers or small items you may have.
- I9370JLjohnf (10/5): The village held fireworks in light rain. We enjoyed a great view from the spacious screened in front porch. Beautiful - We stayed for several days over the 4th. Enjoyed easy walks to Barbs Bakery, the beach, marina and downtown taverns, eateries and shops. Played games with the grandkids at Wauban and enjoyed a spacious room with a comfortable bed, air conditioning and a very nice private bathroom. It is central to many of the parks and sights around Northport, with ample parking. What a gem. Thank you Brad and Annette for a great week, great breakfasts and great coffee..
- tduane (10/5): Mother and Daughter Trip - Came with my mom for a mother daughter trip and it was amazing and beautiful. It was clean. The bed was comfortable The grounds are absolutely gorgeous I was welcomed. My moved loved it and wants to come back. I hope next time that I can stay longer.
- deniser959 (10/5): Peaceful - This is a pretty old house sitting above town, nice rooms filled with antique furniture - my room had a huge bathroom. Many areas to sit and relax, including a screened in porch wrapping the side. Breakfast pleasant. Walking distance to town.
- racraw01 (10/5): Exceeded Expectations - I wasn't sure what to expect with a bed and breakfast. Our only other time at one was not that great. But we took a chance. It was a two night min which I didn't want to do but had to b/c it was the only option. It worked out ok though, overall. We stayed in room #5 - at the top. It was cool and comfortable. No one met us when we arrived but it was later than the traditional "arrival time". But the email communication made it easy for us. The room was very spacious and had it's own bathroom. The shower is tiny but it works just fine. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was from 8am-10am. It was yummy too! Same both days but that's ok. Brad talked with us during breakfast along with another guest. It was fun asking him questions about the area and the house. Lots of seating in the screened in porch. Didn't see other guests often. It was within walking distance to the downtown and waterfront area so it's a very convenient location. I would def. stay there again if we visit the area. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the house! The only thing I could recommend is a bottle of water maybe in the rooms or a mini fridge so you could keep your own drinks cold.
- wheatonite (10/5): Comfortable and Welcoming - Stayed one night to attend a dinner at nearby Lake Leelanau. Hosts were very welcoming and attentive, room was clean and well-prepared for our stay. The cottage is small with 3-4 rooms, which makes the stay more intimate. Large screened porch with plenty of seating that invites you to sit and relax. A definite spot to stay when youâre in the area for a brief time. And Northport is unlike the other villages on the peninsula, has itâs own chill vibe.
- RockGirl99 (10/5): Peaceful refuge - If you are looking for something slick and bougie, try Traverse City at twice the price. But rooms are roomy and clean with bathrooms, wifi, in-room tv and A/C (not found in every B&B). House is beautiful and historic. You do have to be able to do a few stairs. Hosts are kind and available but not in your face. Lovely big porch for reading, napping, or cocktail hour. Breakfast is simple; more than I expected for "continental". Very quiet grounds and town. Perfect area for cycling, hiking, beach walking, rock hounding, or just hanging out.
- 358dons (10/5): Relaxing - Stayed two nights in the top floor room. As a senior it was a little hard getting up the stairs but rewarded with a large, but cozy room that was very clean. The hosts were very cordial and helpful. The antique furnishings and stained glass were very nice. The star for me was, the wrap around screened porch with lots of comfortable seating. One rain day I had the porch to myself for pleasant reading.
- Marsupial2001 (10/5): Beautiful Northport - We stayed two nights at Wauban Inn and truly enjoyed the village and the inn. The Wauban is located a couple of blocks of the center of the village, in quiet and quaint neighborhood. The room was very comfortable, clean and charming. The AC unit worked well (very hot Summer) and the queen bed was nice. The breakfast is simple but very tasty- some egg casserole, coffee, fruit and toast. The common areas include a very comfortable living room and a beautiful porch. Brad was a great host, welcoming and interesting. He gave good suggestions about sightseeing at the Leelanau peninsula. We particularly enjoyed our visit to the lighthouse. The Northport village is also charming, although small. We bought some books at the local bookstore (lovely) and visited David Grath's studio next door (beautiful landscapes).

They accommodate our every need. I would highly recommend the Wauban Cottage to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and clean stay while in the Northport area. We cannot wait to go back in Summer â22!!
- 805davidq (10/5): Enjoyed the hospitality at Wauban B&B - We boated in and stayed at the Wauban B&B. The room was clean and comfortable with a campfie on Monday night. Tuesday was a rain out. The stay was wonderful. The morning breakfast was good and they made it early for us the morning we left. The house is historic with all the charm, beauitiful woodwork and a grand screened porch.
