- Amy (10/5): Relaxing stay at this very nice country motel with comfortable beds, in a beautiful picturesque town - Very nice cozy quaint country motel. Room was very nice, loved the country style of the room. Beautiful area with a very nice view of the mountains. Beds were very comfortable. Nice continental breakfast to get your day started.
- Maurus (8/5): THIS Motel IS A THE TRUE CATSKILL Mountain EXPERIENCE - Operators were true blue Catkskill Mountain family
An unexpected bonus... No AC,but the mountain breezes made up for it

- Denise (7/5): Excellent views, room Ok, Check-in uncomfortable... - The views. Check-in was weird. Owner and Family were gathered outside by the door and we felt like we were being scrutinized, very uncomfortable.
- Polichronakis (7/5): -
- ALFONS (6/5): the staff was friendly -
- Christine (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyable throwback. - Beautiful location on edge of Catskills
- Glen (8/5): - Beautiful view in The Catskills.
- Carolyn (4/5): Over priced and very outdated. Would not book again. - Convenient for in and out one night stay. The bathroom rug and curtains both in bathroom and bedroom clearly hadn’t been washed in a very long time. Was told all rooms were non smoking which upon check in were marked non smoking but had smell of old cigarette smoke due to smoking area just outside each room. Office area had very strong smell of old cigarette smoke as well as breakfast area, which was connected to the main house office area. Beds were comfortable with clean bed linen. Overall the property was clean with the exception of the constant smell of stale cigarette smoke.
- John (10/5): - It was clean, convenient, and everything worked. Perfect!
- william (10/5): Nostalgic and Comfortable - Delightful place to stay. Had all necessary plug accessibility behind the small table between the beds. TV good, bathroom fine, bed comfortable. Breakfast offerings included coffee, yogurt, cereal, juices. Had a good conversation with one of the owners during breakfast. Would recommend and if I have a chance will stay here againl.
- Tanya (10/5): - We were happy with the room. The location was pretty convenient as well!
- Daniel (10/5): Stay here if you want to enjoy your stay! - Everything! N/a
- Vera (10/5): It felt like being back home as a kid . - Completely cozy Nothing to not like
- Nelson (5/5): Stay was about what we expected - no frills for a decent price. Good location - seemed safe. - breakfast was very limited, but the coffee was hot. Room air smelled a bit stale. Shower wasn't entirely clean. Walls seemed very thin.
- Frank (10/5): - Very clean, owner was very accommodating
- Greg (10/5): - Great stay
- Christopher (10/5): - Nothing better than being able to back up 6 feet from the room. Makes it easy to bring ski stuff in.
- Joanna (8/5): Very good - Cute little motel nestled into the mountains of the Catskills!
- Kenneth (3/5): Poor - Did not take breakfast Room size
- Edwin (10/5): - In the country, great views, hospitality, all good things
- Brian (10/5): - I stayed at this motel with my brother to just find a cheap bed while traveling. We expected a run down place we’d put up with for a night. We could not have more wrong. It’s a quaint reminder of simpler times. It’s run by the most adorable older couple. They were so friendly and refreshing. The room had WiFi and a small tv, but was decorated very old school. I felt like I was visiting grandma. This motel feels like home, a welcome change from today’s corporatized hotels. It felt very much like a premium BnB (without the breakfast spread), something people pay exuberant prices for. Only here, it’s an authentic small family business with reasonable prices, rather than some pretentious place gouging your wallet. If that’s up your alley and you're looking for a peaceful place to rest your head in the beautiful mountain scenery of the Catskills, I’d stop here. You won’t regret it. If I’m ever in the area again, I fully plan to do the same.
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (9/5): Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Great location! -
- Patti (10/5): Excellent - Exceptional Nothing
- Karola (9/5): Superb - Close to Windham, NY. The room and bed was comfortable. The water pressure was good. Breakfast was great. Not anything that I can think of.
- Beam (8/5): Nice place that is priced appropriately. - Location was ideal for our needs
Nothing fancy, but perfectly acceptable Nothing
- Francis (6/5): shower was abnormally small, could not bend over in it. Bed was lumpy. - Location was easy to find, but on a busy street and was rather noisy with traffic. S
- Tyrone (10/5): - Rustic very rustic but clean right on rt.23.
- Ellen (5/5): It was disheartening in so many ways. - A very homey place with lots of flowers. The rooms were sweet. Good assortment of continental breakfast food. Driving up to the motel, I first saw a large Trump flag waving from the flagpole. I'd always thought that business and politics don't mix. I entered the office, which was actually the front room of their house, and was blown away by the smell of cigarettes. I almost had an asthma attack on the spot. I made my way to my room through the cloud of pot smoke on the porch. The smell of mildew and cigarettes in my room was overwhelming- I had to use my inhaler just to breathe. The next morning we got an air filter, which helped some. Or maybe I got used to it.
There was a nice breakfast nook with good coffee, juice, and cereal. Also, there was an array of Newsmax and Friends of Zion magazines. Whatever happened to Readers Digest and People magazines? Do we really need to be so polarizing first thing in the morning?
- Jean (10/5): A cozy clean place to stay in Windam - This is a very pleasant place to stay. It is very very clean. It has everything that you could need in a room for a simple Catskill get away. A refrigerator, air conditioning, and cable TV. WIFI is available and accessible. The owners Jean and Art are very nice people and easy to get along with. They are not intrusive at all. You drive up to your room and you can sit outside your room in chairs that are provided. The room has curtains that darken the room so when you awaken it is dark in the room. Open the door and you have a screen door to let in fresh air and an amazing view. No housekeeping services, but extra towels soap and toilet paper is already in the room. No blowdryer or shampoos or rinses. Bring your own . I am definitely going back and staying here again. I slept very well. A cozy breakfast room is next door with hot coffee, cereal, yogurt, juice, oatmeal and individually wrapped coffee cakes. I wish there was a pool but that's okay
- Greg (9/5): Superb - It was clean and comfortable and the owner was friendly . Good value, I would recommend it to others
- Louis (10/5): Very nice uneventful stay. - The room and furniture are very nice. Everything is very clean. A simple motel room very well taken care of. We will certainly check availability next time we are in the Catskills.
- Andrew (8/5): - Overall our stay was great, the only con is the AC wasn’t working properly so it was warm and difficult to sleep. The rooms are a bit smaller than seemed but that’s fine. It’s one of those if you stay here it’s more for 1-3 nights. It is not for a full week or two. The shower is small but everything was great from checking in to checking out Bathroom was very very clean. Definitely would stay again.
- Kateryna (8/5): Very good -
- Jesse (10/5): - Nice place the beds are comfortable very clean.
- Rocio (8/5): Good, the owners were very nice - Location The smoke smell.
- Mike (10/5): - Old school motel but very clean with a few little modern touches like USB charging ports.
- Mariane (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Great stay. Hope to be back soon - Great 2 night stay. The room appeared newly refaced with rustic furnishings and wood panel walls to maintain its old world rustic feel. Mattresses were new and comfortable, bed and bath linens were soft and clean. New lamps with USB chargers in bases. Room was quiet and temperate. Owner was welcoming and accommodating. Owner took an interest in us and also showed my son how to feed the wood burning stove.
Breakfast spread was fairly minimal. Individually packaged yogurt, cereals and crumb cakes with a pot of coffee and hot water for tea. As someone who loves breakfast, I was desiring more options, but it did the job. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
- Leandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristina (10/5): - Loved staying here!!
- Cheryl (8/5): Ideal cosy, comfy, clean budget level room. - Simple set up for short stay. Very comfortable beds and quality clean towels. Ideal to park so close to room. Owner available if assistance required. Decor is dated but everything is well presented and spotless. Didn’t mind it being quaint as the price was comparable.
- Ralph (9/5): would come back for certain - Breakfast was organized and quick to go if needed always more variety
- Bonnie (10/5): - I was greeted by name when I entered the 100 year old building to check in. The proprietor is an elderly gentleman with a wry, wicked sense of humor and he made me and my family feel very welcome. The motel room was exceptionally clean and the towels were very soft and fluffy. This is not a modern place, so, if that is what you are looking for, this is not it. If you are looking for a rustic 50’s style motel room with hot water, warm blankets and a comfy bed with forest/Mountain View’s all around, you have found your home. Breakfast is in the breakfast room in a serve-yourself manner, with coffee, tea, cereal, yogurt, and individually packaged variety coffee cakes/pastries. There are board games and things to read while you eat!😀 I would definitely recommend this place and the charming host!
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional - Art and Jean are great was so glad to see them well A longer stay!

- Stephen (10/5): We would totally recommend Cave Mountain motel to others. - Art and his wife were extremely helpful and good natured. Breakfast was absolutely fine. No mobile phone signal.
- Peter (10/5): A blast from the past with up to date services. - Great little motel that reminds me of places I stayed back int 60s on family vacation trips. Homey atmosphere, with comfy vibe yet up to date services (cable tv and free wifi).Jean and Art are wonderful hosts; I will definitely be back!!!
- Janet (9/5): Superb - The room had a musty odor which made it a little uncomfortable for me. Otherwise, it was clean and nicely decorated.
- Winfred (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable. - Perfect location for the hiking I did in the area. I liked the rustic atmosphere of the motel. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Took the time to chat and recommend places to eat.
- Maggie (8/5): Very good - We very much enjoyed our stay, our room was clean and comfortable and the views from the window are absolutely gorgeous. Great location for hiking and exploring the area. Breakfast was small but just what we needed in the morning; coffee, tea, pastries, and some cereal and yogurt.
- Mary (10/5): - They graciously accommodated my very late arrival
- Annarita (7/5): Good - Breakfast was ok. One queen size bed would have been better and given more space in the room.
- Corey (7/5): Good -
- Steve (6/5): Good location for an old fashioned motel stay in a rural setting. - A good old fashioned motel in a quiet rural roadside setting. Convenient for Windham, Hunter and surrounding area including Kaaterskill Falls and Catskill Mountains. Breakfast was an added bonus. Room was fairly basic and a little musty but not a major issue.

When I couldn't use my cell phone to let my husband know I had arrived safely, the owner kindly let me use their landline to call my husband! I couldn't get cell phone service but I have an Android and I also couldn't get service in town or the mountain.
- Fumi (10/5): Great place to stay. - It was as advertised and very clean and highly recommend here. The motel owner was very attentive and informative for me and he saved my days (I passed ski exam). It is easy to go ski areas, not only Windham, but also to Hunter.

- Kimberly (8/5): Very good -
- Noelle (10/5): The owners are so amazing! we will def be back!!! - Perfect location!!! Was so cozy No coffee pots in the room
- Karen (7/5): The room was very dated but comfortable - it is a budget motel so you get what you pay for - The breakfast was basic but nice, it's a budget motel so you get what you pay for. The place was very clean There was no where to make a cup of tea or coffee. No facilities in the room. The only place available to get a hot drink was the breakfast room but this is locked outside of breakfast hours. Also a glass to have a drink of water would be nice instead of drinking out of a cheap plastic cup. There was no shampoos etc provided but it is a budget hotel
