Guest Reviews
- Berit Ulrike (10/5): - Schwangau ist einmalig. Die Unterkunft war nicht weit weg vom Shambala Festival. Das Frühstück war sensationell. -
- Olimpia (10/5): - Usually I don't write a reviews but this one deserves one. A huge recommendation for this beautiful traditional houses, excellent dishes and most wonderful host in whole world!! She helped me when I was in need and I never forget this!
Thank you for everything! Hope to see you again in future:))
- Zeynep Eda (10/5): -
- Paulina (10/5): -
- Leo (8/5): Very good - It was super beautiful place, very sweet people and delicious breakfast. The only problem was that it was a little out of the town and I didn't have my own way of transport and that would have been nice to have.
- Evgenii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maya (7/5): Good - Beautiful surroundings, very accomodating and friendly host. Should inquire about the weather, in January is very cold during the night time.
- Mikheil (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing breakfasts and stunning views
- Ruggero (4/5): Tiny old bungalow with disgusting bathroom - Positive the kindness of the owner and the enchanting view. I must admit that the view is really beautiful. But I will not return for sure. From the photos and the general description I thought it was better. Also the many enthusiastic reviews misled me. Also the high price made me think something better. Instead it is an old wooden bungalow very small and spartan. The price is really high for what it offers. Little maintenance. Tiny and not welcoming bathroom. Surrounding environment rather messy. I am not going to list the defects and shortcomings here because the list would be boring. I still do not understand all the reviews from 9 to 10!
- Viktoriia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Thank you very much to the owner and her parents for a wonderful time of the year at the farm.
The views around from the observation platform are stunning! Her mom cooks amazing, that was my best breakfast during all the Thailand tour.
I liked falling asleep and waking up to the singing of birds. The bed was soft. Kay did everything to make sure I had the best impressions of my stay in Chiang Dao.
Thank you! Appreciate it!❤️ No complains
- Łukasz (9/5): Chill place with a stunning view - Stunning spot to see the sunsets. Calm and chill. Key is a very nice host. Possibility to use the owners bicycle for free. Huge breakfast. I liked the location but it's some distance from the town center. A pack of stray dogs live in quite close proximity from the hostel. They are loud during the night and attack cyclists.
- Louise (10/5): Fantastic views, fantastic food and a super fantastic host - Kay our host was the absolute star of the show for a wonderful stay at Baan 2 Dao. She was warm, attentive, beyond helpful and generally inspirational (especially regarding her ability to multi task)…making us feel at home and helping to set things up for us, despite having other people to look after. A very close 2nd to our amazing host was the INCREDIBLE breakfasts, soooo good! They tasted and looked beautiful, and were an fantastic, healthy and satisfying start to the day.
A great stay 💚 No
- Sarah (10/5): A simple but special delight! - It was a peaceful little haven with a lovely outlook across the valley. The bamboo 'hut' was very sweet and had a nice outdoor terrace, made comfortable with mats, chairs, cushions and a variety of self-catering equipment (facilities for making real or instant coffee, for example). In the absence of any window coverings it was comforting to have both a mosquito net over the bed (futon) and a very cosy fleecy sheet as well as a light duvet - i slept well. The hosts were very gracious and friendly. The breakfast provided was a feast - a full Thai meal of the utmost deliciousness! I admired the fact that it made no concession to 'farang' breakfast habits! Nothing. It's quite simple/rustic/quirky rather than luxurious, but also very charming. The cost was high relative to other places I've stayed but that may just reflect Chiang Dao as a whole. (And in fairness breakfast was actually 4- to 5-star restaurant-quality Thai cooking!)
- Max (10/5): Amazing place on a quiet location and great view - Woah this place has it all. If you look for a laidback spot with an amazing view, this is the one. Food gets prepared by the family and O my, it is tasty!
Bathroom is fine and sleeping room very cozy. Will for sure come back.
- Hemant (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Home stay heaven - Kai, who owns the property, told me her parents built these huts on this beautiful land. The scenery is spectacular. Waking up to a lush green garden beneath with a layer of morning fog - as the sun starts to rise and the fog disappears, you can get a glimpse of the beautiful mountain ranges and the town below; whilst enjoying beautifully prepared breakfast by Kai.
If you want simplicity and peace, this is the place to find that. Chirping birds and crickets all around. The sound of farmers working in the nearby distance and a faint roar of the motorbikes is all you can subtly hear.
Even though the huts are simple, they are well curated, thoughtful and very clean. I loved the rural-ness, it felt very nostalgic and I am truly humbled by Kai’s hospitality. Wish I could have stayed longer! Nothing.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - The view was epic Maybe something to put my clothes in would of been good.
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Kay was absolutely lovely. So generous and kind.
Baan 2 Dao is beautiful. It's simple accommodation, but spotlessly clean and with a view from heaven. Kay's breakfasts were out of this world. A full thai breakfast and fruit every morning.
This is a great spot if you want some peace and quiet. I stayed here and studied in the mornings and explored in the afternoons. You will need to hire a scooter or motorbike to get around as it's very spread out and hilly, but Kay helped me do this too.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - Never usually leave reviews but felt I needed to here.
Location was fantastic. Very remote, and peaceful, amazing mountian views in the distance.
Was treated to an incredible lightning storm in the distance from my balcony at night.
Very comfy pillows and light duvet.
A very cosy little hut.
Food on the evening was very good, and the included breakfast was genuinely incredible and extremely generous size.
The owner was beyond helpful and friendly, even brought meals and beers etc to the hut, as well as a lift to the bus station and helped me book onwards transport.
Highly reccomend, very glad I stayed 👌🏻
- Michael (9/5): Very enjoyable stay and excellent breakfasts - The Thai owner, Kay, was helpful in every way. The breakfasts large and delicious. The views, wonderful. The wooden stairs up to the house I stayed were very narrow for my size 47 feet. And a light over the mirror in the bathroom would be useful.
