The place is super peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature. What I loved most was the genuine Sri Lankan hospitality the owner lady was so friendly and made us feel at home. Great food, calm vibes, and a perfect spot to just chill and enjoy the surroundings.
- Islam (9/5): -
- Mélanie (8/5): Très bien - Petit déjeuner copieux, emplacement idéal et hôte d'une extrême gentillesse.
- Nawarathna (10/5): Relaxing Stay with Authentic Experience 😇❤️🍀 - Samantha is a wonderful host very friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with travel plans. She even helped organize tuk-tuk trips and gave tips on sightseeing.
Nearby places like Ella Town (5 minutes by tuk-tuk) and Ravana Falls (15–20 minutes by tuk-tuk) are easy to access.
Breakfast was delicious and authentic, including local dishes like milk rice, sambol, and fresh fruits. It felt more like a home cooked meal than hotel food.
This resort is ideal for anyone looking to relax in nature. The surroundings are beautiful, with lots of trees, birds, and a very quiet atmosphere. It feels private and away from the busy town.
The room was clean, airy, and nicely designed to match the natural setting. Cleanliness was excellent, and everything felt fresh and comfortable.
Thank you very much Samantha and hope to see you again in our next trip😊👍
- Stella (10/5): Nature filled retreat with clean rooms and a kind host. - Samadhi Nature Resort was the perfect place so far we stayed in Ella if you want a calm stay close to nature and near to Ella town. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and a spotless bathroom. You can really feel the care taken in maintaining the property.
Breakfast was excellent large portions with a mix of traditional Sri Lankan dishes and fresh fruits. Everything was fresh and tasty, and we were always well fed.
Samantha’s hospitality stood out the most. She treated us like family, helped arrange tuk-tuks, and guided us on the best times to visit attractions.
From the resort, you can take a short tuk-tuk ride (around 5 minutes) to Ella Rock or about 10 minutes to Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. Very convenient location overall.
- Natascha (10/5): Great place to stay - Very nice host, beautiful surrounding and good location to climb little Adam''s peak and walk to the Nine Arches Bridge.
The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent.
- Anna (9/5): -
- Ami (10/5): I stayed for a night. The property was clean, great views, walking distance from little Adam’s peak trail. The host is j - The location and the host! Everything was perfect.
- Julia (9/5): Great place to stay for hiking around Ella - Wildlife all around, kind and helpful host. Comfortable room. There were quite a few bugs in the room but it’s common in this area.
- Olga (1/5): -
- Kamila-K (9/5): -
- Amélie (8/5): Feel at home and great view - The owner was really helpfull about what to do in the area. She wanted us to feel at home during our stay. The 2 breakfast were really good.
The view from the balcony and the nature around were amazing. The beds were a little hard for us.
- Daisy (10/5): - Samantha is a really lovely host and very welcoming, breakfast was incredible and so much food as well! From start to finish it was a lovely stay.
- Thenuka (10/5): Best Nature resort with great host in Ella - Staying at Samadhi Nature Resort was a truly memorable experience. The place is surrounded by beautiful nature, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and disconnect from busy life. The gardens, birds, and fresh air make it feel like a hidden paradise.
What made the stay especially special was the wonderful host, Samantha. She welcomed us warmly and treated us like family. Her cooking was absolutely delicious – every meal was fresh, homemade, and full of authentic Sri Lankan flavors. Her hospitality and kindness made the whole experience unforgettable.
If you are looking for a calm place close to nature with genuine hospitality, Samadhi Nature Resort is simply perfect.
- Lucy (10/5): - The thing that really stands out at this accommodation is the host. She is so kind and friendly and offered us tips on where to go and what time the train was coming across the 9 arch bridge. Her breakfast were also brilliant and sje kept us well fed with more food than we could eat! We liked everything
- Hildegunn (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Katarzyna (10/5): Would stay again - Breakfast was excellent, the owner was extremely nice and helpful, great location next to trails to Little Adam's Peak and the bridge. Very quiet.
- Ben (10/5): Wholesome - It was a perfect location, near everything you’d want to see in Ella but tucked away off the main road. Samantha was a joy to meet, her passion for the plants and wildlife really came across and she’s very friendly.
- Evangelos (10/5): Very friendly local host on a private tropical garden - The tranquil garden
- Thamarindu (10/5): Enjoyable vacation at Ella - Samadhi Nature Resort offers an elegant escape into nature while maintaining a high standard of hospitality. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated to complement the forest setting. I particularly appreciated the quiet atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and reflection. Owner Samantha is very courteous and professional. She treated us creating a welcoming environment throughout my stay. Dining was enjoyable, with balanced menus and attentive presentation, making the experience both comfortable and memorable.
Leuke plek in tropische sferen.
- Igor (10/5): The owner made our stay very special. She welcomed us warmly and helped us with everything, from planning trips to arra - Ideal place to stay in Ella
- Mary (10/5): Great location with flora and fauna - Charming resort with a lovely green atmosphere. The room was super clean and comfortable with a lovely ambience. Breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty. The dinner was equally delightful, offering beautifully prepared local dishes served with great attention. Samantha's hospitality was highly appreciable. I had a wonderful hot bath in the evening before the delicious supper. Gladly will return again. Thank you so much! Highly recommend for travellers searching calm and naturely stay.
- Perera (10/5): An ideal leisure vacation. - The room was super clean, comfy, and had a nice natural vibe. The bed was cozy, the bathroom spotless, and we loved waking up to birds chirping. It felt really authentic, calm, and connected to nature – just what we wanted. The food was amazing! We had a traditional Sri Lankan dinner with rice and curry, packed with fresh flavors and homemade goodness. Breakfast was just as great, with beautifully made local dishes served with care. Everything was fresh, organic, and made with love. The hospitality was outstanding. The owner and her family were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. We're definitely coming back next time. Thanks for the awesome discount, Samantha!
Nada! Todo perfecto!
- Najma (7/5): My son liked it very much. So homely - Owners are very concerned and friendly Walking up with baggage was difficult
- Chris (10/5): Chris - The beautiful tranquil setting, a bird lovers paradise. Samantha and her son were great hosts. Only a short walk to 9 arch bridge and little adams peak.
A great breakfast was provided. I did not have enough time there, i will return.
- Tomáš (10/5): Perfektní!!! Byli jsme nadšeni! - Byli jsme doslova nadšení, paní majitelka i její syn byli velmi milí lidé, přivítali nás s otevřenou náručí, člověk se zde cítí opravdu vítán.
- Margaret Josephine (10/5): Good location - The owner was amazing. Such a lovely lady. Nothing was too much bother. There are steep stairs to the accommodation but they helped with my luggage, insisted on taking it. A lovely cup of cinammon tea on my arrival. Breakfast was great and plentiful. There was a lovely view. The accommodation is a little out of town but close to good cafés and restaurants. It is beside all the main attractions little Adam's peak, Ella Rock and Nine Arch Bridge. My room had everything required except toiletries. There, was a lovely balcony to relax in a hammock or on chairs. Everything was clean, bed comfortable, mosquito nets. No bedroom furniture but chairs and tables outside to relax . The stairs leading up to the property were steep and would be difficult when wet
- konstantina (10/5): - The garden was a real jungle, the owners were real hosts, you can ask anything you want and they are really happy to help you. The breakfast was traditional sri lankan, very tasty. Nothing really, there are a lot of steps, depending on which level you are staying, it was not a problem for us.
- Niall (10/5): A brilliant place to stay, wonderful hosts, great breakfast - A brilliant place to stay in Ella, a few mins Tuktuk ride back to the main centre. The hosts were so kind, friendly and helpful serving us a wonderful breakfast each day and couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was excellent including a tour of the spice garden around the house itself.
- steven (10/5): Nature lovers sanctuary - Staying here is like visiting family, you are looked after in a sincere way. Got a guided tour of the garden on arrival. Nature and the environment is very important to me . The house was built over many years and balconies were built to allow the trees freedom to grow through them. This place was my sanctuary away from the tourist throng. The rooms are spotless and spacious.
A great breakfast in the morning.Ticked all my boxes. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
- Hilal (7/5): - It was amazing and viewed in my room The bed sheet and tailor were very old and very difficult to reach my room due to steps
- Sally (10/5): Amazing place to stay and relax in Ella! - Big, spacious, clean family room with a large balcony and comfy beds. The location was ideal as it was out of the main town (which is very lively!) but only a 5 minute tuk tuk ride away. There are plants of restaurants within walking distance too. The trails yo little Adams peak and the nine arches bridge are both a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
What really made this an amazing place to stay was the owner and her son. They were so friendly and helpful! The homemade breakfast was a wonderful feast and a highlight of the stay! We had a tour of the beautiful garden and they arranged onward transport for us which was reliable and reasonably priced.
We would absolutely recommend a stay here! Nothing!
- Soren (10/5): A perfect place to relax - Nice intimate little hotel. Location is really convinient. The trail to little Adams Peak and to Nine Arches bridge is 5 min away. A tuk-tuk to central Ella is only 500 rupees. The hotel is nothing fancy, but heartwarm and a great place to relax. The owner is very helpfull and prepares a great breakfast. She brought us tea every afternoon and even did our laundry. We stayed with four children and had a fantastic time.
- Paula (10/5): Fantastic! -
- Bimalka (9/5): Superb - It’s been a pleasure to stay at Samadhi. At a convenient location to all the attractions and city centre,
The staff was friendly and guided me to arrange my holiday in Ella.
The rooms were very charming and clean; the rooms got amenities, which was mentioned.
The breakfast was included, and it's tasty .
Lots of flora and fauna around the hotel land; I felt fresh and relaxed during my entire stay!
- Isaac (10/5): Relax in the nature - The resort is part of the nature yet still close to Ella's main attractions. Single room was quite big and valuable for the price. I enjoyed home cooked meal with spicy sambol. Really appreciate the hard work and will come back again.
- Brodie (10/5): Quiet place in nature - Quiet place in nature
Samadhi offers a affordable price with tasteful breakfast. No need for screens when you have views like this. The view from our room was fantastic. The host guided for beautiful destinations nearby and offered us a comfortable room with all the facilities with a quite environment. You all doing a good job. Thank you!
- Manuel (10/5): Great location, peaceful vibes - Loved my stay at Samadhi Nature Resort! The breakfast was delicious, and it's just a short walk to Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. I also enjoyed an Ayurvedic spa nearby. Rooms were clean and comfy with a nice view. I felt like a home. The whole experience was so relaxing and refreshing.
- Ashutosh (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay at this beautifully designed hotel—every corner reflects a thoughtful aesthetic that instantly makes you feel at peace. The interiors are tastefully done, blending comfort with elegance, and the surrounding environment only adds to the charm.
What truly made the experience special was Samantha, the owner. She went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect, always available with a warm smile and helpful suggestions. From local tips to personalized care, her hospitality truly stood out and made our stay memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay that’s both serene and personal. Thank you, Samantha, for making us feel so welcome!
- Herath (10/5): Memorable happy vacation.. - The breakfast here is something you’ll remember. Traditional Sri Lankan dishes made fresh and served in the garden. The coconut roti and dhal were the best I had in Ella. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Just a short walk to both Little Adam’s Peak and Nine Arches Bridge. We even caught the train passing by at the bridge, which was magical. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Loved relaxing on the balcony with a cup of tea after hiking. This place was perfect for a quiet couple’s getaway. Surrounded by nature, with breathtaking views and just a short walk to all the scenic spots in Ella.
- Dilys (10/5): A peaceful escape surrounded by nature. - I had a wonderful stay at Samadhi Nature Resort. The location is perfect just a short walk to Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak, and other scenic spots in Ella. I loved starting my mornings with their delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast fresh, flavorful, and served in such a calm setting. The atmosphere was so relaxing, and after a day of exploring, I even treated myself to an Ayurvedic spa nearby, which was the perfect way to unwind. If you're looking for a peaceful stay close to Ella’s best attractions, this is the place!
- Hilary (10/5): Excellent value for money- felt like a home away from home - Excellent breakfast. Very helpful suggestions for walks, activities to do and places to eat. Lovely big family room with balcony to relax on with a lovely view.
- Leon (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing stay - I had the chance to stay at Samadhi Nature Resort in Ella during the April New Year season, and overall, it was a pleasant and peaceful experience.
The room was simple but clean and well-kept. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed for a short stay. I especially appreciated the natural views right from the window sounds of birds and the cool Ella breeze was a lovely bonus.
The staff was warm, helpful, and very polite, even though it was the busy New Year season. They made sure I was comfortable and were always available to help with directions or requests. Their hospitality felt genuine and added to the charm of the place.
The meals were freshly prepared, with a homely, local touch. For next vacation too I am planning to visit here. Anybody who looking for peaceful environment I highly recommend this place.
- Vandana (8/5): Excellent Homestay nestled in nature - Friendly owner who served us a wonderful home cooked breakfast. Neat and clean rooms with plenty of lounge chairs in the shared balcony. Close to little Adam’s hiking point Water pressure was very low in bathroom to take shower. No exhaust fan also.
- Ian (9/5): A great guest house with a lovely host - Samantha is the most amazing host. Her home is a little oasis in beautiful grounds. Hornbills will join you for breakfast! The house is a few minutes tuktuk ride from the village centre and transport is very easy. There are various bars and restaurants in easy reach. Rooms are basic, but do the job, and perfect for a short stay to explore Ella. Nothing really. Room and bathroom is fairly basic, but what I was expecting for the price.
- Manuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): Marvelous place and definitely come back - The calm environment
- Arun (10/5): Exceptional - Located between the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak, this is an ideal location for a morning trek. The hostess is truly amazing and hardworking. The breakfast, cleanliness of the rooms—everything is excellent
- Lisa (10/5): Home from home - A very homely feel at this accommodation with a host who treats you like family. Samantha goes above and beyond for all her guests and can not do enough for you.
The best cinnamon tea for sure, and you will never go hungry at breakfast. It is a homestay, not a hotel. For us everything was great!
- Arsen (7/5): Good - The location is great—away from the hustle and crowds, providing a peaceful atmosphere. The host was incredibly attentive and went out of her way to make guests feel welcome. The hotel was quite basic. The shower water was either cold or lukewarm, with consistently low pressure. If you’re unlucky, as we were, and have neighbors with small children, you’ll likely hear them clearly.
Breakfast was simple with small portions, though the host was attentive and often offered more. Be sure to bring your own shampoo and shower gel, as only a small soap is provided. Also, the towels were quite stiff.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - breakfast was nice, owner was exceptional, hotel was a nice retreat from busy Ella yet walking distance, hotel garden is to be visited with the owner amenities were very simple , area is cold and yet simple blanket and no hot water
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional - The Owner greeted us like family with a fresh tea upon arrival - she made us feel very welcomed. The place has a beautiful view and we spotted so many animals like the hornbill and the giant squirrel and so many birds. The rooms are large and provide everything you need. The location is also great to see the main attractions in Ella. Everything was fine, but please note that you have to carry your luggage a steep way/ some stairs. The facilities in our room were a bit older, but clean so it was okay for us.
- Vivek (7/5): Very pleasant hostess, great breakfast, unsuitable location for elder guests, no hot water. - Extremely active and pleasant hostess, Sumathi goes out of her way to look after her guests. The breakfast is substantial. The approach to the hotel is on a steep incline and requires climbing some steep steps, not suitable for elder guests. The hot water didn't work well, being lukewarm at best, unsuitable for a cool climate.
- Kenneth (8/5): Good place, good food and friendly owner - Friendly owner. Good breakfast which was a mix of Sri Lankan and continental. Owner seemed to love having guests and taking care of them.
Nice view from the balcony.
Close to Little Adams Peak and Nine Arches Bridge. Low water pressure in the shower and a smell og sewage in the bathroom.
- Waruna (10/5): A good choice for a comfortable and affordable stay. - A good choice for a comfortable and affordable stay. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, with friendly service and good amenities .
The room allocated to me was with a great view with greenery mountains and a bit of city view.
The breakfast was the best and it was included.
- David (10/5): Samantha was such a wonderful host from the minute we arrived. Beautiful forested location very close to town and the 9 - Such a lovely please to stay. Nothing at all
- Fari (10/5): Wonderful experience in my life. - Hotel located in between sceneries. This place is perfect for who love natures. Staffs are so kind and polite. Room is very neat and clean. I feel so pleasant to stay. Nothing. Everything is perfect.
- Framboise (8/5): Very good - The host lady is very warm welcoming, you feel like home instantly. The view from the rooms and terrasse is just in front trees where you can see many different birds. Walking distance from the main street, and hiking spots. Really good localisation.
- Fernando (10/5): It was a memorable stay! - We were welcomed by a delicious tea, and the rooms were facing mountain ranges, and it's amazing. We had some cold beer, enjoying the sunset and nature around.
The rooms are spotless and clean, and it’s a simple design.
There is massive cinnamon there, which is more than 400 years old, next to the rooms. Pepper creeps, cardamom, and ginger also grow by themselves to be used as their organic spices.
The garden was also eye-catching.
- Jack (10/5): I wish to stay longer - My stay at Samadhi Nature Resort was nothing short of magical.
The room was spacious, clean, and had stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The eco-friendly approach of the resort is something I truly appreciated,
The food is mouthwatering .
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely homely guest house- stay here to be really close to little Adam’s peak and the 9 arch bridge- both very easily wa - Excellent location, lovely owner. Delicious breakfast!
- Alexander (7/5): Very welcoming host with delicious food & tea but not the most comfortable stay. - The host is lovely and made us feel very welcome. Plus her fresh cinnamon and ginger tea is incredible! And we really enjoyed the breakfast and her garden is beautiful.
The location is very good for Little Adam’s Peak and Nine Arches Bridge - both just 5 minutes walk away. Then the walk into the main centre is only about 20/25 minutes so very close to all the bars, shops and restaurants! The room smells quite damp and the pillows had damp mould on them. Plus the blankets provided were not very clean and smelled bad. Bathroom was okay with good water pressure but the bed and pillows were not very comfortable.
It’s also right next to a main road and the road noise was quite disturbing through the night.
- Devinda (10/5): Quiet and peaceful - Easy to access with vehicle and also close to the Ella town and nine arch bridge. The breakfast is a Sri Lankan delight. Waking up to the Mountain View is splendid.
- Eoin (10/5): Exceptional - The views are amazing, the location is perfect for hikes like little adams peak and nine arch bridge. However the host Samantha is the best thing about this place. She goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. You won't find a nicer host
- Caroline (9/5): Green place to stay in Ella - Located in the middle of the forest but 10 minute walk to Ella and all the Cafes etc. Super cute host and very good breakfast! Highlight: the self made tea mad from cinnamon and ginger from the garden!
- Olivia (4/5): A simple and basic place but a lovely helpful host - Samantha the host was very sweet and really tried to be helpful
Breakfast was simple but home cooked, fresh and tasty We took 2 rooms and our bathroom (not my kids) was filthy. There was grime all around the tiles, there was ants everywhere in the bathroom, the floor mat was stained and old
The coffee was made with cardamom which was very strange
Very steep and many many steps
The wifi was really bad
I’m unsure how this property gets such a high rating in booking.com and it’s definitely not 3 star. More like a 1 star. I feel bad saying this as Samantha was lovely but I feel duped by the booking.com reviews and would never had booked it if I had known what it was really like
- Rachel (7/5): Lovely little place - Samadhi was a lovely host. She helped with organisation of places to visit/taxis/tuktuks/restaurant recommendations etc. Delicious breakfast here with lovely wildlife to watch in her garden, with exotic birds, squirrells, and chipmunks. It was cloudy when we were there so unfortunately didn't get much view. Its a little bit of a walk out of town, but we love walking so suited us just fine Nothing
- Amene (8/5): Very good - The hotel boasts a desirable location and exceptional views; however, please note that the property is not accessible by car and involves stairs. Despite this, the attentive staff ensures a convenient stay. The high ceilings in the guest rooms enhance the relaxing ambiance of the balcony and its scenic outlook. Luggage and stairs; noise at night. It's a bit expensive.
- Christian (7/5): Good -
- Brooke (10/5): Exceptional - The highlight of the property is definitely the gorgeous host Samantha. She is so lovely and helpful and made our stay excellent.
- Kavshalya (10/5): we enjoyed it - It's much better and calmer than the city centure .
It's situated in the middle of green and misty hills.
It's bit cold in the night , but luckily they have given us extra blankets .
They got many different kind of trees around the resort .
fabulous breakfast !
They served us their jackfruit and mangos.
- Will (10/5): It’s a heaven for nature lovers!!!! - We saw giant squirrel’s , jungle fowls , horn bills and much more birds while we relaxing,
It’s good because it’s away from busy city but not far just by 1km which is 10 min walking distance,
We made little Adam’s peak for the sun rice because it was just 20 min walking by the place,
Breakfast is great they served fruits roti’s and some srilankan dishes as well,
The spicy tea tastes good.
- Dimuthu (7/5): Good place to stay but needs lots of improvements on basics - Very friendly staff (basically a person, Samantha), will customize your needs, so great personality and very helpful. Plenty of power outlets. Towels were not it took 1/2 hour to be ready. No toiletries, have to request. Owner needs good training on basic hospitality.
- Danya (9/5): Great hospitality, central and the best pot of tea I had in Sri Lanka - Samantha the owner is an amazing host. The location is central to nine arch bridge (walking distance) and little adams peak.. The breakfast was delicious.. with a view of many beautiful birds and a possum plus some squirrels.
- Clare (5/5): Good location, lovely host and great breakfast. - Peaceful location far enough out of town but within a short walk for restaurants etc. Lovely host, excellent breakfast, best tea ( her own delicious recipe) The humidity and location made it feel damp (although the room was super clean) - our luggage was damp by the time we left (might be the same in all Ella residences?) No hot water in the mornings.
- John (10/5): A hidden gem in hill country - It’s surrounded tall trees and vibrant bushes,
We feel like we are on a three house,
The accommodation is cozy and well maintained, it got spacious rooms which I had on my entire trip,
The balcony was great spot to relax,
We had nice tea during entire stay they put their natural ingredients from their organic garden.
Yummy food!
- Leslie (10/5): Next time in ella, coming back! - The host was so friendly and charming and the view was amazing!
- Haridarshan (10/5): The homely stay in Srilanka so far - Mrs Samantha -the owner is a great lady and we feel like homely.
She helped us plan the trip day wise.
The property is road touch 1.1km from the town.
I highly recommend to stay there for the Ella visit
- Ravinder (6/5): Stay with family - Owner or the main cake taker is exceptionally responsive and helping. Breakfast was good, she even offered custom options which was great. Rooms were clean. Bathrooms weren't clean (some weird stinking smell), towels were rags, shower water flow is very low, doors get jammed and handles almost falling apart.
It definitely is overpriced for the value.
- Kamila (10/5): The hotel has a great location, perfect for walking to nearby attractions and just a short distance from the city center - I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this place, and I can’t recommend it enough! The owner is truly amazing—she makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. She serves a delicious, locally-sourced breakfast every morning and is always happy to share tips on things to do and places to visit nearby.
The beds are large and comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The owner is not only kind but also very helpful, always ready to assist with anything you need. I really felt like I was staying with a friend. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and a memorable experience.
