- William (8/5): - Reasonable for the price.
Comfortable. Slightly out of the way location.
- Sharon (10/5): Comfortable stay. - Big rooms. Very comfortable beds. Large bathroom. Everything well looked after. Quiet at night. Good parking.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Tesco Lotus and night market. We can enjoy night life in Fang.
- BMWCHOY (8/5): Very Convenient Location - I stayed @ Kasarin Court in 26 February till 2 March 2015. My Thai friend recommended Kasarin Court as base for me to rent motorcycle to ride to Doi Ang Khang and Fang Hot Springs and Wat Tha Ton in Mae Ai district. Room was clean and air-con was strong. Shower water pressure was strong and T.V. usually shows local programmes. Many birds chirping every morning as near to plantation. Free parking with night security within Kasarin Court compound. I ate Tim Sum breakfast near wet market and ate roast duck rice dinner on main road beside hospital. I bought drinks and snacks @ Tesco Lotus front of Kasarin Court. I took shared mini bus back to Chiang Mai from bus station opposite Tesco Lotus. I will definitely stay here again in near future.
- Business-hippy (8/5): Whatever works... -
- there were quite a few tiny ants in residence in my room.
- the pillows were ridiculously overstuffed. Can't understand what's wrong with me. Sleeping with them was a challenge.
- minimal toiletries. Bring your own
+ very cheap price of 300 for a fan room
+ very clean
+ large room with a wood bench, desk, closet, and chairs. These amenities are Not to be assumed in Thailand
+ good location. Walking distance to the main road 107 and Tesco
+ good parking
Not a place to linger and enjoy the ambience, but it gets the job done. Great place to economise for a few nights as well.
- Toni1163 (6/5): Adequate hotel/motel in a convenient location - This is a hotel that I've stayed at previously and it's exactly the same as last time. Located near the main hospital in Fang, and next to a Big C and a food court, it's a place to put your head after a day out sight seeing or birding. That's about it.
The rooms are adequate with large beds, a fridge, a fan and aircon and a bathroom with a shower. Some rooms have balconies but some have restricted views. There's no breakfast except toast and ready-made coffee downstairs by the office/laundry.
There are no gardens, no pool but enough car parking. There's a Big C next to it which houses an MK Restaurant, a KFC and a food court. The food in the latter can be questionable and we both got food poisoning one night. However the MK restaurant and KFC are fine, except that the latter ran out of chicken one night..
The advantage is the location for birders. It is close to the western slope of Doi Lang, which is about an hour to the top. The eastern slope is an hour and fourty minutes but you can stay closer. It is also cheap.
I'd stay again. It's nothing fancy but good enough.
- gurpal9838 (8/5): Clean and budget - Stay here for 1 night on the last day of November! Book thru agoda for a twin fan room. Around 7 USD per night! Check in was fast! Clean and tidy room! Hot shower! Large bathroom!!! TV never used!!! 5 mins walk to tesco lotus and 10 mins walk to bus station!!! Alot of street foods at the main road!!! Free coffee in the morning!!! Will stay again!
- robr951 (8/5): Met my expectations - Since this was an in-transit hotel and not a destination, we weren't interested in spending a lot of money or going very exotic. Kasarin fit the bill. It's off the main road (Right behind the Tesco) and easy to miss. it took us 2 tries. We were on the second floor. The room was very clean, shower hot, AC worked and plenty of Thai TV. We could walk to Tesco (which we wanted) to stock up on snacks and drinks for our trip. We walked to a decent restaurant close by and there were a couple of bars that were fine. All in all it was just what we expected.
- CiCiTam (6/5): Just met the standard - It was really very hard to find the hotel in the dark. Even with the English name of the hotel and the address, people was still unable to tell you the direction. Better to get ready the name in Thailand as well when you go there.
There was no English sign, even we reached, we still didn't realize.
The rooms on the ground floor were just next to the road. I think it would be quit noisy. I had the room on second floor.
It just took you a few minutes to Tesco. Pretty convenient to get food and stuff at night. There was a food court.
The room is clean enough and the bathroom is also met the standard. Just don't expect much with such a low price.
Instant coffee and water were provided in the morning.
- Aquaries21 (8/5): Decent place - Basic amenities are met.
Pros
Clean & tidy room & toilet
Hot drinking water at the lobby area
Good hot water for shower
Next to Tesco
Cons
No lifts - walk-up
Staff speak limited English
For wheelchair accessibility or guests mobility issues, stay on the ground floor but gotta tolerate some noise.
- Toni1163 (6/5): Not what I was expecting - Okay...this isn't what I was expecting. The images on Agoda led me to believe that this hotel was out of town with a nice garden on the edge of a hill with views across a valley...the photos have since been deleted. However, I arrived in Fang not knowing where the hotel was and rang the manager. A lady on a motorbike met me on the main road and I followed her in my car to the hotel which was less than 100 metres away but behind a main Tesco Lotus superstore. As I drove into the big car park I wondered why I had been taken there. No garden, no hillside, no nice views, just more buildings and residential properties. Disappointment set in especially when the lady drove off on her motorbike and I was left holding a key to a room on the third floor. This is more of a motel rather than a hotel, a concrete building in the middle of Fang. There is no reception as such, just a laundry with a person on duty and an outdoor area for the 'breakfast'...
There was no lift. Two room maids took my bag up to the room and I closed the door and looked around. It was spartan, very basic with a tiled floor, a big bed, a cabinet and table with an old 19 inch TV on it and a long hardwood seat. At least the TV had an English news station on it. The bathroom was just as basic with a toilet and shower. At least the shower had hot water, but the toilet broke on first use. I was just wondering whether to move hotels when the night porter appeared and repaired the toilet in about five minutes. I decided to stay and make the best of it. The room had two free bottles of water, one medium sized towel, no tea or coffee maker, two big mirrors, plenty of electricity sockets and a balcony, this not being any use as it overlooked the adjacent apartment block. As a final negative comment, the first morning I tried the 'breakfast', I found that there was only 3 in 1 coffee sachets, no tea, tepid water and DIY toast and jam. However the butter was off, so I threw it away. That was the only time I tried 'breakfast'..
It wasn't all bad however and as I had a look around Fang I realised that the hotel was in a very good position in the town. Restaurants were few and far between but there was a big Tesco Lotus next to the hotel that sold every type of food you could ever want. It also had a KFC and an MK Restaurant, my favourite, and a food hall selling Thai food inside the complex. There was also a petrol station with an Amazon Coffee shop and a 7/11 within a few hundred metres and the main hospital just across the road which did come in handy during my stay. All in all, the Kasarin Court turned out to be a good place to stay, once the initial surprise at having no garden and view had subsided. In addition to the above, the main aim of my visit to Fang was to drive up Doi Lang, one of the best Thai bird watching mountains in the north of the country, each day and the hotel was close to the access road. With the room being quiet, I got a good night's sleep after spending all day on the mountain, so it all worked out fine.
One other thing to look out for is that when the maid cleans the room each day, she had the habit of leaving the sliding windows unlocked. If there is anything of value you should make sure that these are kept locked. Just a point. The laundry service was also good value and my clothes were returned the same day and my room faced west so I got to see some beautiful sunsets.
If you spend all day out and only use the hotel to sleep, it is adequate, a no frills basic motel-type accommodation. I will use it again, now that I know what to expect.
- oldmancockatoo (8/5): For 350 Baht a night dont expext the Hilton!! - Clean room, clean linen, large room, cool aircon. Quiet location and less than 300 metres to Tesco Lotus. Value for money is excellent. When I come back to Fang I will definitely stay here.
As in all of Thailand the bed is hard!
- Pook123 (4/5): Could be better - I was stay in this hotel once. I noticed when we leave the key before we went out ,instead of they have the cupboard to keep the key safe they just put it in the basket which is left on the bar outside the office( that is mean anybody can take it and open your room. Again pillow was very terrible hard cannot sleep on it. I was asked them to keep my luggage for half hour after checked out but they just leaved my luggage outside the office. I am sure they can be batter than what they do. This experience was April 2013
- bobs874 (4/5): Too Many Ants - Kasarian Court is a basic motel. In general, it is clean but the problem is tiny ants everywhere in the room. The ants are in the bathroom, climb on the bed, and in the bedroom. They congregate in corners but spread throughout the room. A reviewer on another site mentioned this problem but we thought it was unusual. It is not. We would avoid this hotel unless other reviewers report no problem with ants. The staff speaks no English so it was not possible to discuss the problem with them. Otherwise, they were very kind. The hotel is behind Tesco/Lotus. There are other choices closer to the center of town.
