• Jim Parkin (5/5): The future of the hotel seems to hang in the balance as much as the condemned building adjoining it - Bed comfort was a positive and the parking space being convenient and secure. Upkeep of the fixtures and furnishings was neglectful at best and borderline dangerous in the case of a bedside lamp that seemed to brighten or dim depending on what must have been undampened surges of power from its ancient socket arrangement
• Jeanette (7/5): It was fine for a weekend - The location is perfect. Right in the town centre. Parking is very convenient The bedroom was very small but adequate. The staff weren't particularly friendly.
• Paul (8/5): We enjoyed the location and the history of the building. - A simple room,but fine for what we needed. We liked that is was not in the main building. Your own frontdoor! Lovely instant hot water from the tap in the basin. Free parking! The shower was awkward to use and the plug for the basin did not work well. Wasting water.

• Daniel (5/5): Needs a refurbishment! - Good location. The pub / hotel looked very tired. The whole place needs a refurbishment. My room was very tiny and did not have air conditioning. It would be very hot in the summer!

• Penny (6/5): Reasonable value for money. Good location in the middle of Ringwood. - Welcoming staff on arrival and later at the bar. Room was large, roomy and bed comfortable. Wardrobe difficult to access due to opening next to bed. Shower didn't work, but bath did. Good free parking. Menu restricted to thoroughly unhealthy food. Even the salads weren't a healthy option. Difficulty in finding any staff at breakfast time.

• Christine (7/5): Nice stay but spoiled a bit by silly things that could easily be fixed for very little cost and very little effort. - Great location, staff were lovely, towels and linen were spotless, bed was comfortable. Nice to have kettle, milk tea and coffee in the room also had iron and hair dryer, shower gel and liquid soap. The rooms are shabby and very much in need of a refurbishment. My sash window opened a few inches then wouldn’t close. The corridor to the rooms had a disgusting smell that got worse as the day went on. We had to buy a sense and spray air freshener to mask the awful smell. The door panel on my wardrobe was hanging off . Two of the drawers had missing handles( they were inside the drawer ). The outside window ledge had layers of flaky white worn off paint and were almost rotten through. The ceiling light needed 2 bulbs replacing. All these things could have been easily rectified by an odd job man in a couple of hours but had obviously been ignored for ages as I had read the comments from other guests on bookings.com and trip advisor.

• Valerie and Alan Bennett (10/5): Great stay. - We had a lovely 3 night stay, lovely room, friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and evening meals, great parking. We never stay anywhere else when in Ringwood. Nothing, except for leaving!
• ClaudiaK237 (6/5): Rustikal, aber schön - Die Unterkunft war sauber. Der Parkplatz befindet sich hinter dem Haus und ist kostenlos. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und der Burgee wirklich sehr lecker. Das Frühstück war typisch englisch und gut. Check out unkompliziert und Check-In ebenso. Sollte es für jemanden wichtig sein: Im Bad befindet sich eine Badewanne mit hohem Einstieg und keine Dusche. Demnach nichts für Menschen mit Bewegungseinschränkung.

• Iva (9/5): We were very happy with a stay there, overall and will be happy to visit again. - The room was nice, clean and functional, with tea pot and a small table and with a nice pub within it. We were happy overall, the only think that would make it better is a little more space. Personally in the room where we stayed i would push the bed into the corner to leave more space at the entrance of the room for the luggage, coats shoes etc.

• Lorri (5/5): Central Ringwood great location, but only OK for everything else - Perfect location in central Ringwood but other than that, only OK. Breakfast was quite disappointing, I could get vegan sausages but the hash browns had egg in them, which for a potato based treat, could easily be without egg. Staff at breakfast were quite brusque and we had to wait outside past 8am for the doors to be opened for us and only after lots of banging on windows to be let in. It stated from 8am so people were ready as we all had busy days to head off to. Room was OK and clean but away from the main building which I wasn't aware of and being an older single female I did feel a little scared staying in and would rather have been in the main building.

• Christine (6/5): Was a quick pip stop for our needs we knew what to expect due to the low cost of room. - Bed comfortable room needed a good clean decor tired basic coffee facilities in room. The room was cheap so not to expect anything else. Staff great parking no issue . Food was basic presentation needs attention. Booking app for breakfast does not work and cannot be cancelled but you can order when you arrive so bypass the app. The pub is tiered needs an upgrade and some help to reorganise their staff presentation and attention to details. Will there be any interest to do this as ringwood is slightly run down town and is feeling the economic pinch.

Avoid!! - The bar staff were affable when things went wrong The room I was given had not been cleaned at all eg: the bed was dirty and unmade, there was a lot of rubbish and wet towels... The room signage said breakfast ended at 11am but when I went for it at 10am it had already finished. The pub was generally sticky and not well cared for (and neither were the guests!). A housekeeper tried to enter my room at 10am even though check out was 11am. The manager was a tad defensive when I raise these issues on check out and there was certainly no offer of any form of compensation for my bad experience (not even a drink whilst they sorted out my room after I'd found it uncleaned). All in all very poorly managed.

• Katia (1/5): Irrespectueux - Suite a un retard d'avion, nous avions prevenus lhotel par mail, nous sommes arrivés devant l'hôtel a minuit, tout était fermé, personne ne répondait au téléphone, aucun accueil physique! Ce sont des clients de l'hôtel qui rentraient qui nous ont laisser rentrer, ils nous ont prêter gracieusement une couette et deux oreillers et nous avons passer la nuit sur un canapé dans le hall de l'hôtel. Le lendemain matin, aucune excuse de la dite manager, cest sa femme de ménage qui est venue nous voir. INADMISSIBLE....

Toilet seat was broken, wardrobe door was broken, remote control for the TV didn't work even with new batteries. Room was very hot even with the radiator off as the towel rail couldn't be switched off and windows didn't open. Only one plug to charge the phone or boil a kettle. No where secure to leave a rucksack before check in was open. Only the gents toilet was on offer!!
