- TheVeraHull (10/5): Like a home from home only better. - From the moment we arrived the young lady at reception treated us like family. The heating wasn’t on in the room so she organised a space heater. My daughter and I were visiting my mum. The property was so homely and beautifully decorated and styled. Nothing. We loved it all.

The hotel restaurant was convenient and cozy with a variety of options on the menu. The food was very good. The best part of the Market Inn was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The Market Inn is conveniently located to numerous shops and restaurants in town. Castle Douglas is a great central location to explore the area. There was nothing to dislike.
- Fiona (10/5): - Great room, great location. Breakfast sausage was of poor quality which spoilt the overall quality of a great breakfast.

- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - They treat you like you are family Zero
- Andrew (8/5): Very nice place and lovely staff - The staff were lovely, evening meal was delicious and breakfast too
Room clean and decorated well Bathrooms was tiny, didn’t like the shelf directly above the sink you bank your head
Also don’t like glasses in bathrooms if you drop one it’s quite dangerous
- Sharon (8/5): Lovely family establishment. - Great location. Nice place. Bed was a little on the hard side.
- Jojo (6/5): It was alright - I liked that it was clean and it in town centre There was no bath or bottles of water in room felt was bit expensive for what was on offer

- Steve (8/5): Very good for an overnight stay - Staff very attentive at breakfast Room slightly tired, and towels could have been larger

- Thwaites (9/5): A very enjoyable stay and will stay again - A very clean room and staff were amazing Traffic noise at night
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Pete (8/5): It was ok for one night. Breakfast was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. - Easy access to the coast and local amenities. Bathroom was a bit small. The room we had booked the staff member could not get the door open so we were put in this room. Apparently this was a bigger room - but that bathroom was tiny.
- Lana (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Rosemary (6/5): Lovely staff but quite expensive if included the evening meal. - The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was reasonable. It was handy for the town and from our cycle route. They were good about locking up our bikes safely. The staff were lovely. The noise from the road was loud. I struggled to see the television from the bed and it was very small. The evening meal was disappointing. The shower was a bit small.
- Stuart (8/5): Probably the best place to stay in Castle Douglas! - The food both at breakfast and in the bar the evening before was home cooked and good. The sweet and sour chicken was more sweet than sour and would have benefited from more vegetables, but the steak and ale pie was first class.
The owners are clearly trying very hard and are investing in the quality of the hotel’s interior. The complimentary shampoo and soap was microscopic! It would also have been nice to have had a couple of bottles of water in the room after a long journey. We cut it very fine for the last meal order and the over the phone description of the menu left quite a bit to the imagination. On the whole though, these were minor niggles. We were satisfied with our stay and wish the friendly management and staff every success in the future!
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pleasant -

The room although small, it was well equipped for an overnight stay. Comfy bed and good shower. Tea/coffee in room also for morning cuppa and full breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day. The restaurant menu is varied and good value for money. I would recommend to anybody and we will definitely be back. Nothing
