Guest Reviews
- Osman (9/5): Great location for Souk and beautiful accomodation - The location is convenient because it is just around the corner from the entrance to the Souk and the taxi cabs.
We wanted an authentic Moroccan experience
The accommodation is clean and beautiful. The Riad is filled with hand carved wood and tiles .
Upon our arrival, Arby (the host )walked us through the available rooms and let us pick with one we liked the best; we selected the room on the top floor.
Arby was wonderful and kind and felt as if we were part of his family. He gave us his umbrella to use, in case it rained and he made a super effort to make sure we had everything we needed.
(There is a vegetarian restaurant nearby called Veggie Pause, we are not vegetarians but we went there for at least one meal every day
It was fantastic) An extra small table to hold things.
Once I removed all of the pillows, throw and shams, to sleep , I thought it needed a little extra room to put them down somewhere.
There was a small fridge but it would have been nice to have a kettle and tea and coffee, in the room.
Also, we did not have any shampoo or body wash in the shower (but we had already brought some with us)
- Pontus (4/5): Amazing beds, but you better speak Arabic. - Easy to get to since it is just outside the medina. Including (paid) parking just a block away. Beds were amazingly soft, better than any hotel in Morocco we have stayed at. The very nice older man that took care of us only spoke Berber and Arabic. No French or English. Making everything a lot harder. Our room had a very “musky” smell from the bathroom so we ended up running the fan in there. And to top it off the property next door was doing serious construction work starting at 8am every morning.
- 46enricor (10/5): Cozy experience in Fes - We have had a super positive experience. The position close to the city centre allows you walk around and enjoy.
The rooms are amazing with detailed arab furnitures and decoration. The main area of riad is amazing and cozy at the same time. We had delicious breakfast and great time.
The guardian was super nice as well, so we strongly suggest anybody who's planning a stop in Fes to come to this hotel.
- boussbaab (10/5): Authentic stay - "I had a wonderful experience at Riad Fes Andalucia. The authentic moroccan architecture and the charming patios made the stay truly special. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the traditional Moroccan meals were delicious. The location was perfect for exploring the historic city of Fes. I would highly recommend this riad for anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Moroccan experience."
- soukaynak2018 (10/5): Week-end prolongé - I had the most wonderful stay at this Riad in Fes, Morocco! The authentic Moroccan decor, friendly staff, and delicious traditional cuisine made my experience truly unforgettable. The peaceful courtyard and beautifully designed rooms provided a perfect oasis in the heart of the medina. I highly recommend this Riad to anyone looking for an authentic and luxurious Moroccan experience in Fes. Can't wait to return!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overpriced & don't expect peace and quiet - They employees tried their best, but too many issues.
1) Hotels.com 2 euros of tax a night not captured through hotels.com site. The staff charged me $5 euros per night, no explanation of fees/tax, I paid in local dirham but the staff didn't have change for me telling me they would give it to me later, never did.
2) Expect dust to come down the vents they installed in the bathrooms from the renovation work. Cover anything you you don't want dust and dirt on. it was very obvious on the bathroom white surfaces from when i checked in what was going on.
3) They serve breakfeast and dinner (for people who choose to eat dinner there) on the interior ground level courtyard that your rooms are above and literally adjacent to so expect to hear people talking and eating in your room. The staff entertained another visitor at night in the interior courtyard which woke me up repeatedly. Apparently she wanted to learn the call for prayer and she tried a few times... They should use their inclosed rooftop area for food and for guests who want to be loud late at night, but they don't, so don't go here with the expectations of peace of quiet when you want a nap or go to bed early etc. Some riads have this problem, others do not typically because they use their rooftops etc.
4) breakfast was pathetic for what they are charging (USD 100-150 a night as of april 2019). Set-piece style. Better quality at the corner cafe outside their riad
You will get more for your money elsewhere.
- wagner23 (2/5): way overpriced for what you get - Lot of complaints, but will try to keep this to 5 main points. As a note* money isn't a big deal for me so I didn't fuss a lot to see what would happen to help out the backpackers and students etc. also I am used to far rougher conditions so this doesn't bother me too much, but your money will get you a lot more elsewhere.
1) Be careful with the name, this place is called Andalucia close phonetically to similar riad nearby the "Andalous" because unless you are very aware of this, the locals will point you to the "Andalous" and not the Analuc"ia" and the "Andalous" is more established and well known. So I went to the wrong Riad initially, they are about 3-5 minutes walk from each other but was about 10 minutes of confusion at the other riad.
2) Hotels.com said the Riad would charge me 2 euros of tax a night not captured through hotels.com site. The staff charged me $5 euros per night, I paid in dirham but the staff didn't have change for me. I never got the 4 dirham back in change. it is the principle why this complaint is here.
3) You are paying for the recent renovations to make this a riad for tourists. expect dust to come down the vents they installed in the bathrooms and cover things, every day. Cover anything you you don't want dust and dirt on. In my case it was very obvious on the bathroom white surfaces from when i checked in what was going on.
4) They serve breakfeast and dinner (for people who choose to eat dinner there) on the interior ground level courtyard that your rooms are above and/or literally adjacent to so expect to hear people talking and eating in your room. Also, sadly there was a stereotypically american tourist was exceptionally loud who talked with the staff at night in the interior courtyard which woke me up repeatedly.
5) breakfeast: save your money since you will get a better breakfast at the corner restaurant on the street. basically you will get bread and conserves (Jam/honey) with coffee and milk. First day was a bit sparse typical moroccan breakfast breads and no real substance and they also gave me some pieces of a french baguette which is pathetic, so i asked about moroccan bread the next day since it has more taste and is more filling. Next day, i literally only got one piece of moroccan bread to eat that costs about 2 dirham in a corner store.
if you do stay there, be sure to talk to the staff about the breakfast, they are willing to change, but the standard is pretty bad. The staff tried to be very helpful, but i am an independent traveller, so I have a feeling they wrote me off for not needing their tourist guide etc etc.
- Marc23458 (10/5): one of my best Riads - i spent two night in Fes in this riad, it was best experience I had on this trip to Morocco.
the staff was good and the food excellent.
they helped us to get a local guide for the old medina tour he was also nice and honest.
