Guest Reviews
- Terry (10/5): - new york
- Atiba A (6/5): - overall the property was clean however, the property was closing down and this was only shared at the time of checking in. this meant that I had to cut my vacation short and book another hotel while fighting to have a refund on the days which I did not stay.
- MAURICIO (6/5): - Hotel was not bad for the price, rooms were small but good overall. However, the acoustic was really bad, and corridors very noisy. From inside the room we could hear doors closing outside, people talking on the corridor, and even the elevator sound. It was hard to sleep at night as we kept waking up with all those noises. Location was good, because it was very close from Manhattan and easy to get there. However, the neighborhood was not the most friendly one.
- John (10/5): This place rocked - I had a great stay, and the price couldn't be beaten.
- Bridget (10/5): - Was a good overall stay
- Marion (8/5): Great - Beds are too small
- Natalie (10/5): - Staff was friendly the room was not Clean the Side of the bed had blood stain
- Sanoussi (4/5): - The guy at the hotel, they don't have parking, pretty shocking
- Eric (6/5): 1 night stay - Stay was ok. Smell of smoke in the room occaisionally and in the halls. Beds not too comfy but not terrible. Phone didn't work and fridge didn't work in room. Room itself was ok and the bathroom was really nice!
- Lucy Emma (10/5): - Very nice hotel which was close to the subway and a quick trip into NY city
- Mark (10/5): - For a budget hotel it is very good.It is clean and comfortable, the bed was very good.
Finding parking in the street was easy.
The area around the hotel is boring, there is nothing there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Noise issue, stay away if you can… - If your are ok with the noise of a Microwave in the hallway while you’re trying to so sleep, go for it. If you’re not, I don’t recommend this hotel. The noise of heating food and people talking in the hallway during midnight was so loud and woke me up which I couldn’t go back to sleep. Customer service wasn’t that great either. I would definitely not stay there again.
- Claudia (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay here. Only issues were that they don’t serve breakfast anymore although it is advertised, and don’t pick up trash from the rooms.
- Johannes (10/5): - The rooms were well equipped and comfortable, the area
has easy access to transportation and it was easy to find parking on the street.
- Sergio (10/5): - Clean and modern. Stayed for the weekend. Only really used the hotel to shower and sleep, but it worked well for that. Was able to find street parking never more than a block or two away all weekend. They let us check in early, which was amazing. Only negative was the hallway smelled like weed the entire time. Would definitely come back.
- Kathrin (4/5): - The room and bathroom were clean and big but the whole floor smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. We could barely sleep because of the smell and the noise. You could hear everything from the outside. People slammed the doors and yelled until 4am. When I mentioned the concern to the front desk, he did not even say anything. I guess for the money, the room size and cleanliness surprised me but the cigarette smell was in our clothes for the whole trip.
- terence (6/5): - Outside areas and street very untidy with broken down cars and rubbish
- James D (8/5): - Hotel Nirvana was a good value. The rooms were new and very clean, but compact. The front desk was behind glass and the desk clerks were transactional. Location is just two subway stops away from Manhattan. The neighborhood is industrial with 24-hour car washes, body shops, and auto repair centers; it was lonely, but did not feel unsafe even at night. Limited food options were about 3 blocks away; subway station a half-mile walk.
- Timothy (8/5): Good value, convenient stay - Excellent value hotel. Very handy for tourists (10mins on direct subway to rockfeller centre). First night stay was noisy due to other guests (was a weekend night) but rest of the week was fine. They held our bags on checkout day until our evening flight as well. Rick on reception was very helpful. 24hr staffing was useful for late arrival due to delayed flight.
- Fred (8/5): Nirvana is Just Minutes from Manhattan - The Nirvana is a good hotel. Clean, very nice front desk staff who are there 24-7. The rooms clean and comfortable with modern fixtures. The best thing: The price and proximity to NYC Manhattan. The Nirvana is short walk to the MTA 21st Street Queensbridge Station. From there the F Train is a 2-stop, 10 minute ride to Midtown or anywhere else in Manhattan.
- Melanie (8/5): Decent place for a holiday trip to NYC - For the price, this hotel was good value. The subway is not far to walk. It gave us easy access to the city. Morning coffee was a challenge. Breakfast is not available at the hotel. In room coffee is mostly brown water. It is a 10 minute walk to get decent morning coffee.
The area felt pretty safe. We decided to keep our routes to 21st street. Some of the side streets felt a little sketchy. Service was good. The place was clean. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but not impossible. We used street parking.
We will consider Hotel Nirvana for our next visit to NYC.
- karen (8/5): - Small, But adequate size Room. Updated and clean.👍
- Alaa (8/5): - Property is great. Neighborhood is bad
- VERONICA (8/5): - The room was clean and the customer service was good
- Geanina (10/5): Excellent!! - Amazing staff ..nice hotel …clean ..warm..very comfy..definitely will come back !!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is essentially a budget hotel, and staff were pleasant enough (e.g. when I needed my heater re-set). My main problem was with old smoke smell in this "100% nonsmoking" hotel. I'm not sure if it's possible to remove without sealing the walls.
- Daniele (10/5): Awesome - Place was really nice! Clean lobby friendly staff, room was great! I wish the bathroom was just a little bigger but overall very nice
- Jose (10/5): TX made Midwesterner Visited! - Wonderfully upgraded hotel! You can tell they put money into renovating it! Great staff, easy check in! Room was clean! Everything was comfy and fresh!
THE ONLY thing would gripe about is that there was no hot water in the sink. No matter how long it was left running, it never turned hot. There was hot water for the shower, thankfully.
OTHERWISE, decent location. There are gas stations, food places, and stores within walking distance. The neighborhood is fairly decent.
I would CERTAINLY book here again!
- Jonathan (6/5): - Room seemed clean but tiny. Hairs on towels. No parking nearby. Closest non street parking was around 29 blocks away. 1-2 blocks from “not nice” part of town. Stay was just “ehh”.
- Md Yeasin (10/5): Nice hotel with convenient location - It was a nice hotel conveniently located in Long Island, NYC. The bathroom vanity was little crooked but functionally it was good. I was able to find free parking on the street across the hotel.
- Rais (2/5): - A run-down property that needs a lot of love and care. There's no flat sheet under the comforter, small desk with a broken leg, tiny bathroom with no towel/soap stand, the list goes on. Though I booked a room for three days, I left early and moved to different hotel.
- Aurelio (6/5): - What I like, near to interesting points.
What I don’t like ,not parking lot for costumers
- Patrick (6/5): - This hotel is real. Based on the 1 star reviews I read, I was hesitant this place actually existed or not. It is exactly what you pay for. A decent place to call home base while you spend your days exploring New York City.
Three of us shared a room with two full beds. It wasn't very spacious but it had everything we needed for a weekend stay. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel, make sure you get a spacious one.
The area isn't very nice. If I was a young woman, I probably wouldn't feel too safe walking around this area. Closest subway entrance was about 10-15 minute walk away.
Overall, this was a 3/5 star experience. We got what we paid for. There's a lot of suspicious 5 star reviews and a lot of angry 1 star reviews. I guess it depends where your expectations are at.
- AHMET TUNC (10/5): Could have been closer to subway - Besides the distance to subway, everything matches the expectations according to the money paid
- Tiffany (10/5): - Great property
- Olga (10/5): - Very good price for a decent hotel with a gym. The room was clean. Bag holding service was available. Gym was functional. Quick 10mins walk to the train. 👌It exceeded our expectations.
- Ashley (8/5): - Nice hotel, but please update website. Site reflects free breakfast and great views. No breakfast since covid and asked about view from rooftop and told we couldn't go up. Overall hotel was clean, nice rooms. 3 people in our room and we fit just fine. Good location to Manhattan without having to pay a fortune. Descent walk to subway and buses. Would stay here again.
- Cesar (10/5): - A really good hotel for a great price in NYC. Just 5 blocks from a metro station, 1 block from a bus stop. My experience was really good. It’s located in a mixed area of hotels and mechanic shops… not fancy, but ok if you just need a clean place to stay while visiting the city.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sketchy Neighborhood - When I checked in the television was not working and the sheets were wet I went down to talk to a employee, and he seemed very confused, kept telling me no it’s working, he gave me a different remote to try and that fixed it, as for the sheets he said they will be changed tomorrow? I hung them up in the bathroom on the shower curtain rack and used the hairdryer to dry the sheets.
Roof top deck area was closed even though the temperatures was in the high 60s.
No microwave in the room but there is one microwave that the whole hotel can share located near the ice machine, which smelled like Indian food.
It’s a good 10-15 minute walk to the nearest subway stop at nights and even during the day it could be very sketchy in the neighborhood I would recommend staying on the main street as much as possible. I got stopped by a homeless guy trying to hit me up for money and about three blocks away there’s a corner that I think drug dealers are hanging out at.
- JOSE (8/5): - My stay was pleasant, especially the personal treatment received from the part of an employee named Javier, an extraordinary person. Good stay
- andrea (8/5): - nice
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was tiny and the bed was super small looked like a full size bed. No space badly amenities it was priced way to high
- Rick (10/5): - Great servce & staff. Rooms very clean.
- Hala (8/5): Very clean - It was great, friendly staff and clean room. No breakfast is available since covid, would suggest updating website. Otherwise it was close to the subway station
- Orestes (8/5): - It wasn't bad I guess for the price and considering how expensive New York is but it wasn't great either
- Tyler (8/5): - Price was amazing. Area was okay. I would stay here again if I needed to. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Hotel was sometimes loud at night.
- Shanique (2/5): - The place smelled like marijuana. The sheets and shower curtains were stained with blood. I would never go back and would advise everyone to stay away from that property.
- Gabriel (10/5): - Nice location
- Debra (10/5): - We stayed six nights. It's located in a somewhat industrial area, ten minutes from the nearest subway. But our room was very clean, lovely towels, comfortable bed and we felt safe. I would definitely recommend.
- Dorothy (8/5): - The hotel was very well maintained, and the cleaning was excellent. However, there was no summary of facilities. Google showed a nearby Dominican restaurant, but it appeared to be a basement entry with a gang scrawl over the top.
- George (4/5): Dirty. - The bed had no top sheet, and had not been cleaned. There were someone else's pubic hairs in the bed. Disgusting.
- Amitabchan (10/5): Great stay - Udaan Nirvana is one of the best hotel to stay at near Mall road chowrasta.we had a good experience as the food was fantastic and accomodation was good.staff were polite and helpful.
Excellent service....i would totally recommend place to stay..
Especially thank you sahil thapa for your awesome service.
- Brandi (8/5): ok stay for a night - The hotel isn't in the best part of town but the staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable.
- Jose Manuel (4/5): - Everything was ok but no breakfast and a package that I asked for being shipped was rejected twice.
- Aisling (2/5): - Horrible hotel, awful neighborhood, very isolated, found cockroaches in my room, and the entire floor smelled of cigarette smoke
- Najee (4/5): - The television nor the heat worked at all, manually turning the TV on didn’t work and the heat was a futile effort. While the water ran gratefully hot the towels looked like they just folded up the one someone used the day before with the dirt marks still present. The bed also had dirt marks as if they’d just been layed in.
- Amer (10/5): - Really good experience overall, staff should be a little quieter during cleaning in the morning.
Was really clean and organized, staff was really friendly. Will come again.
- Travis (2/5): - The room smelled like weed and blunts. Burn marks in comforter and wall art. Coffee mugs were not cleaned after previous stay. Overall gross. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend
- Matthew (10/5): Thumbs up - Was enjoyable, clean room. Couldn't beat it for the price.
- ROGER (10/5): - What I needed it was clean and all was easy
- Alejandra (8/5): Great option and great price - Hotel is very nice. Everything is clean and newly remodeled. Rooms are comfy. Staff is nice. There is no parking available at the hotel. You would need to park in the street, and there are no park-meters. Neighborhood is ok.
- Vincent (10/5): - It’s very close to LGA- $16 Uber. Clean hotel. It’s a little further from trains. It’s on quiet street so better sleep.
- Stephen (4/5): - Liked proximity to Manhattan.
Didn’t like razor slashed picture on the wall.
- Marc (10/5): - Loved it for the price, everything was great, odd smell in the hallway not exactly a sight seeing neighborhood but it was overall great in my opinion
- Rogelio (8/5): - My family stay was good, good attention from the hotel staff. the only thing that wasn't right was that today they are advertised as having breakfast included and that is not the case. After the pandemic they suspended breakfast.
- ADEGBOYEGA (10/5): - Good
- Una (8/5): Excellent clean and comfortable - The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. My only disappointment was that the website says Free Breakfast but apparently that has been suspended since COVID. The person at the desk was gruff about this and denied it was on the website. When I showed it to him on my phone he just frowned.
- Eben (8/5): - Cheap, but decent. Room was small. Sink was wobbly.
- David A (10/5): - just what I needed, like that one song.
- Alexander (8/5): - Air conditioner did not work and was hot as hell
- FRED (10/5): - The price was good.... And the Hotel was very good
- Dariena (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was nice, clean and had the necessary amenities. We will be back again for sure at Nirvana hotel.
- Eric (6/5): - This hotel have everything you need and it is basic which all that we needed just saying a night. Do not expect more then that. What really bothered we us that they have discontinued the breakfast they offer due to the pandemic. Meaning its been discontinued for a while, it didn't happen just yesterday, yet they haven't update their online presence.
- Ignacio (4/5): -
- Douglas (6/5): It's Okay. - The door-stopper lock literally fell off the wall when we opened the door. Lots of noise outside during the night. Otherwise, its what you expect for a budget hotel.
- MANNY (6/5): - Overall nice place to stay
How ever my room was closed to elevator and was noise
Not possible to sleep
- Dhirendra (10/5): - The property is awesome to stay.
- Gauri (10/5): - The property is nice for a short stay but nothing really around it
- Enidza (6/5): - Bbb
- Chulyong (8/5): - .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Would not stay here again. It was fine, but not a particularly enjoyable experience and frankly I didn’t feel safe throughout my stay.
- george (6/5): - Nice,but small
- Stephen (10/5): - Great clean safe place. I would recommend it.
- Risa (6/5): - The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was huge. I was not a fan of the surrounding neighborhood though.
- Howard (10/5): - Great stay
- Jonathan (10/5): - I slept like a rock above one of the quiet blocks of NYC. That second part isn't to be taken for granted.
- Goma (10/5): Needs microwave in room - Very good service except vendor machine and microwave
- Alexander (10/5): - The location was very convenient if you were looking to stay near but not in the city. It was also very accessible to subway stations and convenience stores.
- Maleha (10/5): - Front desk were amazing and helpful. The rooms were clean and housekeeping were so sweet. Ideally it is not in an ideal neighborhood but Time Square is 20 mins away via Uber. Love it!!
If I come visit NYC again, would definitely stay here again.
- Nelly (10/5): - Very clean and easy to check in and check out
- claudio (10/5): - Great place and great stay the down fall was the smell of smoke for a nonsmoking room
- Nuno (6/5): - Do not like that it was advertised with free parking but there’s no parking it was a struggle finding a parking spot
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good hotel in obviously unsafe area - Hotel front desk was gruff and misinformed us saying there was a loading area for luggage in the front (none), no driveway, no parking, adjacent streets so unsafe for cars that a local worker warned me against it and showed broken glass; we ended up parking a mile away after much searching (no garages open late in the area). The hotel room itself is clean, modern, and good, with a fridge, weak coffee (K-cups), no microwave. For a 3-star hotel, this was mediocre at best, and the location in a barren, industrial corner with obvious signs of cars being broken into or having parts stolen made the whole stay fraught.
- Aileen (8/5): - Clean room and convenient location. Easy and fast check-in and out.
- Michael (10/5): - Convenient
- Matheus (10/5): - New construction, fair price and kind team
- Hasanain (6/5): - It was an old building that is rehabilitated but not in a good condition. room amenities and furniture are dirty and broken, and the gym is in poor condition improper ventilation system with one treadmill, one elliptical and devices, and one rack of dumbles, I will not book in this hotel within my next visit.
- Sarujan (8/5): - It's a 7/10 for me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great
- Mark (8/5): - Rooms were clean. Showers in some rooms were excellent, others just okay. Heating/cooling system was hard to adjust the way we wanted.
