Guest Reviews
- Ryan (10/5): Really enjoyed the stay, thankyou :) - Great view, great price, very nice town
- William (7/5): A good location. - Location and property were great. Sunset on the balcony absolutely beautiful. There was a sign on the one spare bed stating that if we used or messed it, we would be charged. This took away the opportunity for our child to choose which bed he slept on and made us feel untrusted or unwelcome. I expect better - especially at the price. The 'welcome book' is a bunch of bar codes cut out and pinned to a board for you to scan if you even notice it. It is one of a whole port folio of properties and you feel that disconnect between the property manager and their guests. I respect that it is a business but it is a hospitality business and we didn't feel the hospitality.
- Andrew (10/5): Our home away from home. - We loved our stay. The house has everything you need and has the most beautiful view sitting on the lounge or at the dining table or on the balcony. We called to let them know we were missing some glasses and tea towels and it was fixed immediately. It’s a great location, an easy drive to the National park walks and various beaches and also close to Coles Bay where we loved going to Geographe restaurant for dinner and picking up groceries from the Village Grocer. The Beachcomber became our home away from home and we look forward to going back.
- Annette (8/5): - Lovely view, quite well equipped kitchen, quiet location with walking distance to the beach. Large outdoor deck was beautiful for relaxing taking in the view of the ocean. Hot plate was very confusing to use, no diagram as to which knobs operated which hot plates and no indication of high or low.
- Kristine (10/5): It was a lovely getaway in Coles Bay. - I like its location. The view from the balcony is spectacular. It was also a close walk to the beach. It was complete with all the amenities we need. There were some mosquitoes in the premise.
- wpjordan (10/5): Stunning views in a very comfortable house - The house was lovely and clean with an amazing view. It had everything we needed to cook with. Nothing, it was perfect
- Warren (8/5): Comfortable apartment in Coles bay . -
- Kerry (9/5): Lovely comfy house with fabulous views. - Beautiful views. Quiet location. The stove is pretty old.
- Jie (6/5): No dishwasher - View is nice There is no dishwasher in the beach house. And no dish drying rack either. The dishes and cutlery are not clear.
- Kate (10/5): A stunning house, luxurious, great view of the beach. Perfect! - No breakfast included but kitchen facilities made providing our own breakfast easy. The place was amazing far better than any other place we stayed, stunning view, fabulous big room with a balcony, comfortable attractive furniture. All perfect
- Raelene (8/5): Was a nice few days, - The view There were no wine glasses
The glare is a lot in the late afternoon/evening
- Geoff (9/5): Great views and close to the National Park - The views and the location with proximity to the national park. The stove top was not up to the task
- Tyson (8/5): -
- Troy (10/5): - Beautiful home, gorgeous views and great views. Only recommendation would be to out a curtain around the shower over the Jacuzzi as it was a bit chilly in the bathroom without one.
- Josie (10/5): Exceptional - The views and how comfortable it was. Feeling like I could make myself at home. I like it all.
- Brian (9/5): Lovely stay. Ged rid of the low stump which cannot be seen in the dark - Warm and comfortable. Nice view, well equipped. Damaged our car on an old stump in the dark.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Lovely stay. I recommend this property - Lovely property with large glass windows with sea view. Local beach lovely and walkable. Short drive to Freycinet. A more personal note of nearby facilities restaurants and walks would have been nice rather than really some local adverts. Need to drive to shops and restaurants.
- Anke (10/5): Perfect bolt hole to explore Freycinet - Beachcomber is an entire split level holiday home with a generous deck overlooking Oyster Bay. The view is breathtaking. The house is modern and comfortable. We loved our 3 nights there. Be aware that the mobile signal can be patchy in the area. The host was sending us the access code by email and text, which we didn’t receive. Make sure you got that sorted before you arrive.
- Angela (10/5): - Great property!
- Karishma (7/5): Good -
- Lynette (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - Position or location Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Pleasurable and relaxing - The view,quite,bird life,spacious,comfortable
- Tynika (10/5): Will definitely be back! - The Beachcomber was a very nice beach house with an amazing view to see the sunset. Went their for our anniversary and will definitely be back.
Very clean, comfortable bed, amazing BBQ area.
- Laurie (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Views and comfort for a great holiday - The view of Oyster Bay and easy access to Sandpiper Beach was wonderful. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable. We knew Beachcomber was a little out of Coles Bay, but it was further than we expected. The positive aspects of the house overcome the limitation of the location.
- Sarah (9/5): Great experience - Amazing location and view, super cute, easy access to location with car. Older property, but we still loved it.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (8/5): A good 3 days in Coles Bay - It was clean and comfortable. Maybe could have had more efficient heating,
- Tim (8/5): Happy to recomend this house for a short or long stay - fantastic position! - The location is excellent with the main windows facing the beach and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything worked. it was a bonus to have a spa after some of the long walks in the park. Great light filled living areas. No traffic noise as the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac. Some maintenance needed soon as the house is starting to look a bit tired. As we were at the end of our tour we wanted to wash and iron, but the iron and board needs replacing. Would have been nice to have some books, or DVDs to watch etc. But these were very minor items really.
- Anja (6/5): hhm, would probably not come back - it was just okay, didn’t felt well maintained did not feel well maintained, got allergies from dust mites.
garden wasn’t maintained at all so one could hardly see the water and beach.
had to call them in order to get access code to the house..
- Anne (8/5): lovely 2 bedrfrom the living & dining room just needed an update to the bathroom & a stove otherwise excellent & - location & views shower.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Plenty of room and quite comfortable. Main living room was a little warm, with the afternoon sun.
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (8/5): - Very peaceful spot to relax after exploring Freycinet National Park
- Sebastian (7/5): Brief, but enjoyable stay in a stunning part of this beautiful State. - excellent location; light and airy; bath tap needs fixing properly; outside areas looking like they need a little care and attention
- Banney (9/5): Great place in a great location but sterile management - Beachcomber is a luxury beach shack with great views over the ocean, in a quiet cul-de-sac. Everything worked well and was lovely and clean. Mobile phone reception was good despite the more isolated location. The Freycinet walking tracks (about 20 minute drive away) are spectacular. While it wasn't a problem for a fit family, access to the beach was via a rough track (tricky to find because there are no signs) that was muddy and slippery while we were there, which is worth knowing if you have any mobility limitations. The house is well set up but there are no welcoming items like milk in the fridge or basic panty items. The house is also a long way from town/any shops, so you can't just walk around the corner for a cup of coffee or some bread and milk (and the nearest shops aren't open late), so make sure you have full provisions if you're arriving late. The emails sent by the company who manage the house contained three different addresses in three different emails and the text they promised to send on the day of arrival with details of how to access the property didn't eventuate. We had to trawl back through emails to find a phone number and ask them to send through confirmation of the address and the code for the lock box with the keys. It wasn't a problem - if you have access to internet/emails while travelling. It looks like the same company manage dozens of properties in the area, which would account for the mix up with addresses. Also, information about the property was only available electronically (not printed out at the house) and there's no wifi, so if you don't have a smart phone, you'll need to read it/print it before you leave home.
- Joanne (8/5): Lovely beach house in a spectacular location - just a bit of TLC to make it even better! - location and view were spectacular; one of the comfiest beds I have slept on. Lacked a whole heap of personality and requires maintenance. bedroom tv not working (possibly just remote); bbq was filthy and requires a good clean; ice cube tray needs replacing; light fittings are just light bulbs and some basic covers would go a long way; not one book/novel or game in the house; sliding doors need attention; no dustpan or broom. The house itself is so quaint and lovely - just needs some attention.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zeromc07 (7/5): Good - Great views over to Swansea.
Great open spaces for looking over to water. No dryer with washing machine.
- Kirk (9/5): Superb - Great view! Very nice to have a walking path to the beach :-) The place was clean, well appointed, comfortable beds but there is no effort to make the grounds look nice. l get leaving it natural but maybe make the area around the front entrance look nicer. Pull the weeds and maybe a little raking the natural debris in that area.
- Josephine (5/5): Passable - The view from the main hall. This property is not kept very well and could do with some upgrades. The photos on booking.com are probably taken a number of years back - the property is not as new as it looks in the photos. The electric blankets do not work, the bathroom door should be fixed, the TV reception is bad - these things could be easily fixed but they have not been.
We did not receive the code for the key lock through SMS and hence were not able to get into the property until a few calls later. The reception to the property wasn't great. Overall experience was not great.
- Kim (7/5): good for a couple of nights if you have no intention of cooking - handy position to access Freycinet NP and activities leaving Coles Bay Bathroom door would not stay closed, Oven hot plate has no warning light for when it is on, no numbers to indicate heat level, not that it actually got hot
- Kerryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - The views were spectacular.
Loved the spa.
Electric blankets.
Easy access.
- Felicity (10/5): Beautiful Freycinet break - Lovely comfortable holiday house in great location with amazing views.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tolle lage mit traumhaften Ausblick auf die Meeresbucht.
Am abend auf der grossen Terasse grillen und einfach das Leben geniessen
- Judy (10/5): Home away from home - The house shown is exactly what you get. We loved it! Was a cool home away from home.
The patio needs cleaning/fixing, but, we just walked out to take photos. Upon arrival, we had a little panic on how to get in. Call the number on front yard sign. They’ll give you the code. After that, it was amazing!!!! I’d definitely stay here, again!!!
