Guest Reviews
- andrea (10/5): Very happy with our stay. Food and service brilliant - We had booked a standard room, view was of flat roof and could hear air-conditioning. Requested a room with a view and we were moved straight away. New room was perfect. Would certainly stay there again. When booking it did not say that standard room would have no view or would be looking at flat roof and air-conditioning outlets
- Luke (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location - The hotel was excellent with great facilities and friendly staff. All meals we had at the hotel were excellent. Having to pay for using the spa
- Sally (9/5): Spa and location amazing! - Hotel is in the perfect location. We literally booked it for the spa which we have been to before which is amazing. I cant highly rate the food, it unfortunately lets the hotel down. had lunch and breakfast theres few times. Very bland and basic. However the asian restrain next door is a better option.
- Khansire (9/5): -
- YUU (7/5): まあまあ - レストランが、サービス、雰囲気、料理かなり良かった レセプションに人が少ない
- Amanda (9/5): - Lovely building with beautiful views. I expected a little more for the cost but overall a nice stay.
- catherine (10/5): Superb will be back - Everything Nothing
- Richard (4/5): Lovely Spa but with a very mediocre hotel attached - Stunning location and excellent Spa The food and the older bedrooms (ie most)
Oh my God, what are they thinking? Answer - location driven complacency.
Nice staff but clearly poor management.
Come on, guys, it’s not the 1960s and the world has moved on. Leaving you trailing - in another century
- Wendy (7/5): Comfortable, enjoyable just the wrong room. - The whole hotel was excellent and staff friendly and approachable. Would visit again. The only problem we had was room 122. The room itself was excellent however, it was very close to the AC machines and extractors outside. They were incredibly noisy stayed on until quite late and came on very early. If you are on a break you do t want keeping awake after a days walking or if trying to have a lie in.
- Anthony (8/5): Excellent spa break - Food excellent, staff superb. Temperature controls in room difficult to use.
- Chloe (10/5): Lovely waterfall - Fantastic location, right next to a gorgeous waterfall. Breakfast was good, and had stunning views across the lake. Lots of lovely walks and the on site restaurant was great. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely visit again! The spa itself was lovely but the “no towels on the beds” policy wasn’t being enforced which made it difficult to find a seat. The way that guests were ushered in and out of the spa at the set times also want particularly relaxing.
- Steven (9/5): -
- Siobhan (9/5): -
- Brad (10/5): -
- Mark (7/5): Overall very good. - Location, food, service. The shower was very poor, literally just a trickle.
- Sheila (10/5): Overall a fabulous experience, loved the spa. Japanese restaurant was fantastic - Hash browns and black pudding looked and tasted like being under the grill too long. Bacon and sausage was lovely Nothing other than the breakfast
- Kulwinder (9/5): Good value… - Hotel allowed me to use their facilities in order for me to do my daily yoga routine, a huge thank you.
The pan-Asian restaurant is great, suggest the grilled/ cooked items, service was excellent.
Recommend the full Scottish breakfast, a great start to the day. My room was very ‘cozy’.
- Anthony (9/5): Great hotel, rooms need bit of attention. - Hotel and facilities were amazing. Spa was excellent We laid extra for a better room and yet the bath would not hold water. Obviously when you are there for one night it's hard to complain about it at the time so we didn't mention it till we checked out. So they didn't have the opportunity to fix it for us, but it was disappointing that you couldn't use the bath. Also the mattress was very firm, could just be personal taste but compared to other hotels and our one at home this was like a bench.
- Toni (9/5): - Cleanliness, pleasant staff, bar area, outside seating area, parking. Main meals arrived before starters finished in the restaurant and English breakfast arrived before finishing fruit or cereal. Too many dogs.
- Rebecca (9/5): A memorable trip, beautiful surroundings and very beautifully decorated hotel. - The breakfast was very good. A nice selection and great service. We did visit the Spa which was nice, but nothing majorly special. A number of sauna rooms, heated outdoor pool.. nothing more really. We were not offered any treatments and felt this could of been upselled more. Also feel the spa should be included in price for hotel guests.
The hotel is in a great location, so close to the lake and great surrounding walks.
The room was extremely clean, decorated beautifully but on the small side (we had a lake view). The Asian restaurant was fully booked and the staff weren’t very accommodating when we asked if we could eat early in the afternoon when it looked completely empty at the time. The brassiere restaurant menu had a poor choice and expensive for what was offered. We ended up cancelling our reservation and eating in a lovely pub in Keswick.
A guest next door was playing very loud music from their room late at night but it was resolved quickly.
- Beth (9/5): Nice people, lovely food, amazing location, stunning spa - Beautiful location and lovely hotel & spa. The room had a great view and was very comfortable. The spa was incredible and offered great facilities. The food was amazing. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, who are so friendly. I’ve never met so many people who work in a hotel who are so genuinely lovely. Incredible asset to this hotel and I hope the management team are aware how hard they all seem to work with a smile on their faces. Outstanding. The shower was shocking. Less than a dribble of water. If you’re paying £400 a night you should be able to shower. Toiletries were a bit underwhelming. Hairdryer was broken.
- Dominique (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Really enjoyable - The whole stay was excellent The reception lady could have been a bit more friendly
- vanzan (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): -
- George (10/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): Absolutely fantastic stay. The standard rooms do not match the fabulousness of the rest of the hotel - The setting is fabulous, the environment divine, the staff are brilliant. It is an expensive four star hotel and the rooms are below par. The communal areass of the hotel are exquisite, the food brilliant. My daughter is coeliac and they were switched on, trained and the food choice was excllent. We stayed in a standard room which for a four star hotel was not at the standard I would expect. Having travelled a lot for work and leisure, I have a lot to compare.
- Victor (10/5): -
- Ian (7/5): -
- Al (9/5): A lovely stay - again. - Location, decor and staff. The spa and restaurant choices.
Transport links and walking straight from the door. Breakfast let it down competed to competitors.
- Lee (10/5): -
- Mauricio Leonardo (9/5): - Staff is great. Location is a very special one. Breakfast is very good. Restaurants are also very good. SPA must be reviewed/revised in its concept; a real SPA must have other options: only a pool and saunas/showers are not enough for a SPA concept worldwide . The best part of this facility is the landscape. Pool is nice. The SPA fee is too expensive for a two hours use.
- Hilary (10/5): - Staff very helpful and friendly. I have stayed many times at ladore but this was the first time since its been refurbished. It it stunning and very comfortable. The food was excellent as always.
- Catherine (9/5): I was a solo traveller and I had a fabulous time. The spa was the hi-light for me. I was extremely lucky to have fabulou - The location is stunning. I unfortunately didn’t have a great view and I did ask for an upgrade but it was extra money and I had already spent a lot, so I stuck with the room I had.
- Lee (9/5): Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, with friendly staff - Location and Spa was excellent. It was a bit noisy as very little sound proofing so could hear ever door slam or people walking along the corridor.
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful location and fantastic food - Location was really beautiful N/A
- Harrison (8/5): -
- Guest (10/5): -
- Wilmot (8/5): -
- Tony (10/5): Fiftieth wedding anniversary. Well celebrated. - The location. The decor. The staff. The ambience. Totally came up to expectations. Nothing.
- Lyndsay (8/5): -
- Olivia (8/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Karen (7/5): I wouldn’t pay these prices if you can’t book into the spa! - Staff were great but I booked the hotel for the spa and tried to book in a week beforehand for treatments but there was no availability. So for the price, if you don’t take advantage of the spa it isn’t worth it. We could have stayed at a hotel across the road for half the price Rooms have no air conditioning and our room had a bad view for over £500 for two nights
- annette (8/5): Enjoyable weekend - The setting Nothing
- Linda (10/5): We were in awe of the location and staff were lovely. - Gorgeous Hotel Nothing. Superb hotel
- Lesley (10/5): Very comfortable stay in a beautiful location - Beautiful location Quite pricey but worth it for special occasions
- maureen (10/5): -
- Sally (10/5): Beautiful location and amazing Spa - Perfect location and the Spa was just great! Hotel and staff loved dogs which was brilliant! The breakfast was just average . Ive had better.
- Summerscales (7/5): 4* Room 2* Food - Was good but not worth the cost. - The room was lovely, bed was super comfy and well presented. The bathroom was very small in comparison to the room, but was clean and had everything we could need. The staff were super attentive. Everything was really well presented. The SPA is nice, the view makes it worth the experience. The food was below average, I ordered fillet steak the first night and not only was the cut lower quality than expected it wasn't cooked well, I returned it and the second time coming out was still pretty poor. For the price of the food £40 for the meal - it was not what I would expect. The plates come out scorching hot every time, it's not a pleasant experience to eat there with boiling hot food that doesnt have much flavour- even breakfast was not as expected. For a 4 star hotel the food isnt great at all, so unless you are not bothered by food quality don't recommend eating there.
- Kyle (10/5): -
- Mossop (10/5): Amazing stay - Fantastic hotel N/A
- Lisette (8/5): Mixed. The Spa was not available to use unless you booked a 2hr slot at an additional £40pp. The hotel itself had no o - Fantastic location and the staff were all lovely. Both restaurants were fabulous. The lighting was really harsh and bright-like an office! Spoiled what could have been a lovely cozy atmosphere.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Gareth (8/5): - The hotel and spa were superb and getting too and from Keswick was very easy . Just that there could be a snack menu after 9pm
- Mcilvenny (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the hotel - Brilliant food.good quality hotel.excellent staff
- Phil (8/5): -
- McGough (10/5): We had a great day all round - We were guests at a wedding at the hotel. It was was a excellent day and really enjoyed our stay and breakfast
- Alison (10/5): Lovely short stay, exceptional venue and staff - Everything
- Nigel (10/5): -
- Sam (2/5): Not great - The area is fantastic great views Well unfortunately the leaving left a bad taste as after we had left we got a email saying a scatter cushion was damaged and that we are going to be charged for its replacement so I rang to be told my dog has chewed the corner of it I explained I don’t have a dog and in the booking I don’t have a dog and it also isn’t a dog friendly room so after 3 phone calls and 3 emails later I get told after another investigation it’s concluded
The room was next to the restaurant vents for the kitchen as well which is room 123 and the noise of the vents doesn’t stop till about 11.30ish.
- Jennie (10/5): -
- Bobby (7/5): Loved the spa . Let down was the room just to small for the price - Location an heated infinity pool . Small room and small bed for the price
- Matthew (9/5): - The setting was superb. Relatively basic but comfy bedrooms but really stylish resteraunt both fine and Asian. Bar excellent Nothing!
- Helen (10/5): Perfect - Absolutely stunning location next to Derwent Water. Such a relaxing place to stay with great bar, amazing food at Mizu and of course the best spa in the Lakes.
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Rachael (2/5): Disappointed. - Good staff and breakfast excellent. The bed was appalling! Uneven and unsupportive - I had a very poor nights sleep.
- Terence Stephen (9/5): There for a wedding and its a lovely venue - very clean and all staff were very nice At over £300 per night its not cheap
- Bryan (9/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Fantastic value for money. - The location was fantastic, The food in the restaurant was exceptional , The dishes on offer in the Thai restaurant were very authentic and full of the flavours you would expect, The value for money was well worth it. The breakfast was spot on with plenty of choice. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.
I would definitely revisit. No Negatives whatsoever .
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely stay.. even with few let downs I would definitely stay again. - The hotel was lovely, beautiful location, the staff were polite always had a smile on their faces and they couldn’t do enough for you. The room was lovely with stunning views, but the curtains could do with a clean, the wall where the head board is could do with the cobwebs being hoovered, the main light shade could do with cleaning inside.. the WiFi wasn’t great either and to have no signal on phones was a bit of a nightmare when needing to get in touch with my children.
- ken (8/5): -
- Stephanie (7/5): Good - Lovely area, spa was great The hotel is quite dated for the price you pay, we had a standard room and would say it was in need of an update
- Andy (8/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Hague (10/5): -
- Shaun (9/5): -
- richard john (7/5): Great views and staff - Location was great, fantastic views Beds were small for single beds
- Ben (8/5): -
- Emilio (7/5): Beautiful scenery, Peaceful hotel. Slightly overpriced in my opinion. - The property is beautiful on the eye, located right by the waterfall & lovely lake. I feel like the room I booked wasn’t what I expected from the photos on booking.com.
I paid a lot of money for a lake view and was only on the second floor so not really able to see it very well.
I also didn’t like that ontop of my 600£+ room I dint get free access to the spa facilities, I can paid £70 extra to use them with my partner and they only let you in for two hours. Which quite frankly felt rushed and not long enough to truely relax in there.
The Asian restaurant was lovely tho & very worth the money. The brasseries less so & also the breakfast was okay at best.
- Nicola (7/5): -
- Leah (4/5): Fine - would visit again. But you have to pay the money for it to be nicer when over £200 in total was spend for 1 perso - Location, facilities like the spa. Bed uncomfortable, gap between door and walkway outside, therefore could hear noise. Next to the lift... that was loud. Outdated bathroom, bath tap didn't work properly and flooded the floor. The bathroom fan was extremely loud and couldn't switch it off. Not helpful when trying to relax. Pillows were comfort.
- Sharon (9/5): Fabulous stay - Fabulous hotel .Very comfortable bed.We had some wonderful meals here .
Loved the views from over the lake . The bathroom was a bit tired considering how much we paid for the room. The window frames rusty and painted over so we couldn’t open the window .
The shower wasn’t great just a trickle !
The room was small with lots of furniture making it quite narrow to move around and no where to store the suitcases
- lee (10/5): -
- Julie Diane (8/5): -
- Emily (9/5): Another great trip to Lodore Falls to celebrate my husband’s birthday! - Second time staying at Lodore Falls. The location is perfect with stunning views. Breakfast was great, paid extra for this to be in the room and was very happy with what was served. The pan Asian restaurant was fantastic. Food is incredible and really enjoyed our evening there. Spa felt a bit too busy/chaotic - we did go for an evening slot and not sure the rain helped but wasn’t as relaxing as last time I visited.
Room was snug but clean and had everything we needed.
WiFi was definitely patchy but didn’t need too much.
- Rose (9/5): Relaxing & calm - We come here every year for our birthdays for the past 3 years as our birthdays are a week apart. We love this place and one day potentially would like to get married here (my partners father got married here a few years ago) We got the charticure board and it was definitely not worth £21.
- Martin (9/5): Good facility’s , great staff and very good location - Really good , staff very helpful and nice and clean with good facilities
- Rachel (9/5): Beautiful romantic stay - Wow .. where do I start ?!
Stunning lobby
Super friendly and helpful staff
Beautiful room with a great veranda view
Comfy bed
Great bath
Excellent towels
Spa next door was exceptional Food was a bit hit and miss
- Connor (10/5): Amazing - Pool hotel and staff
- susan (10/5): A relaxing 2 night stay & good for Coeliacs. - The location, staff, comfort and food..its very good for Coeliacs and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the weather.
- Nicole (10/5): Delightful - Room was beautiful, clean and great location! Stunning views. Bed super comfy. Would definitely stay again. Couldn’t pick a fault
