Guest Reviews
- Terry (6/5): - We did not like being woke up each morning with the door banging and our carpet needed a good clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice clean hotel. - This was a really nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. However parking under the hotel was difficult, tight narrow bends, and narrow parking spaces - might prove particularly challenging with a car larger than a golf or fiesta. We had booked a room with a balcony not realising that the balcony reached into the atrium. There was no direct daylight coming into the room and walkways to rooms at the front of the building were no more than a few metres from the balcony. This meant we were afforded no privacy - meaning curtains were drawn most of the time. That said I would not hesitate to book this hotel again but would request an outside facing room - albeit without a balcony.
- Mark (10/5): - A very nice quiet hotel located right of the promenade , villa marina and near many good places to eat and shop within walking distance. Excellent staff provides quiet, friendly service. Room was very comfortable , quiet and everything worked well and was well maintained. It’s a great choice in Douglas. Restaurant had very good food too.
- Edith (10/5): Great hotel - A really lovely stay for the 4th time.
- Jordyn (10/5): - Wonderful hotel. Was in a great spot along the beach and allowed for easy access to the city! The food options were also amazing!
- Jillian (10/5): - Not only is the hotel in a great location, it is clean and modern but best of all, friendly. Every member of staff we met was excellent and couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant in the hotel is also excellent, something I've rarely found in hotel restaurants. So good we ate dinner there on two nights.
- Thorgerdur (10/5): - The staff were amazing, breakfast super and all facilities needed were available. We felt so welcome and at home at all times. They remembered us and our needs at all times. I would definitely return!
- Lisa (8/5): - Quality hotel although my room was not adapted so struggled with the shower over a bath the bed was fantastic all little extras were there too, its my 2nd stay at this hotel & the only improvement they could make would be the breakfast the bacon & sausage very greasy & undercooked, the staff are excellent throughout & bar/ restaurang orices very fair for a hotel of this standard.I will be back.
- Michael (10/5): - Staff were great, food great, rooms serviced every day and replenished. Very clean and Tidy. Room had a balcony that was indoors, a bit unique but very functional.
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely clean Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. The food in the restaurant was very nice but it was the same menue every day.
- Robert (10/5): Helpful staff and clean hotel - Wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful.
- David (10/5): - We always choose to stay here. We’ve never had any issues. Spotless rooms, excellent service lovely staff. Good breakfast options. Some parking options on site. Small friendly bar area. We like the balcony rooms nice to sit for a nightcap.
- Brian (10/5): Great stay. - Had a lovely four day stay. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast menu was very good and the service was exceptional. Would totally reccomend this hotel.
- Michael (10/5): - Colleagues paid less than I did for same stay and hotel but I guess they had platforms with more buying power
- Marie Dawn (10/5): - Great location. Staff were extremely nice and professional. Just note there are no actual outdoor balconies here, the photos are of indoor balconies which was the oddest thing Id ever seen. The balcony was in the middle of the building facing the open walkway corridor of the rooms opposite so you cant go to sleep wirh the curtains opening hoping that daylight will wake you natrually unless you want those across from you seeing you walking in your PJs.
- James (8/5): - Helpful staff with directions around the island and early breakfast when I had a ferry to catch at 7 am.
- Lawrence (10/5): - We stayed here for 3 nights. Nothing to complain about. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Had two evening meals here. Quality food at a very good price.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Special mention for Susannah who was informative and very cheerful.
- liz (10/5): - Great place to stay in the middle of the esplanade easy to get to all public transport. Room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Food was good. Hotel was quiet at night. Staff were excellent
- Derek (8/5): - Great location and staff very friendly. Rooms nice and a big. The bed was very comfy and a good choice of breakfast
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice hotel, just off the promenade. The rooms are large and was quiet at night, couldnt hear anything
- Christine (10/5): - The rooms and hotel area was very clean.
The staff was very friendly.
The only thing was I found the bacon and sausages under cooked and a bit greasy .
Overall an excellent stay .
- Ryan (8/5): Reasonable rates and clean and comfortable - The hotel is a short walk from the town and very clean in all areas. Staff are friendly and helpful. Aircon in the rooms which really helped.
Worth noting that you need to put the sign up if you want the room cleaned, this was on a sign in the lift but I didn't spot it and only realised when I returned to the room after being out all day. This didn't ruin anything as it's great for the environment.
A large choice at breakfast to choose from and this was included in my rate.
The only thing I found was the bed was 2 singles together so had a hump between. I found this a little uncomfortable but not the end of the world.
I will return on my next visit for sure.
- steven (10/5): - What a lovely stay we had could not fault the hotel. We would have no hesitation in recommending it the only comment is the balcony is overlooked by the walkway opposite but a nice space to have a drink after a day out.
- Crawford (10/5): Would use this hotel again in a heartbeat! - Staff were excellent, really helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Super food (leak and potato soup was amazing!)
- stuart (4/5): - Room was awful come away with sore throats due to no windows just air conditioning which gave us dry throats and felt terrible.shower leaked onto bathroom floor all the time
- anthony (8/5): - The bed and carpets needed a little updating. The shower did not drain well. The food and staff were excellent! Would definitely stay again.
- Denise (10/5): - Personnel disponible malgré une arrivée tardive et nous avons eu la possibilité d’y laisser nos bagages l’après-midi de notre départ.
Merci
- Ann (10/5): Fabulous hotel loved it - Fabulous hotel, very clean and comfortable. Rooms are really nice very comfortable spacious bed. Bathroom was great, lovely shower. Every member of staff who we spoke to were so helpful especially the ladies on reception. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were very friendly and answred any questions we had about the hotel or the area. Breakfast was delicious, all items were extremely tasty and there was lots of choice. We hired a car for the day and we were able to park underneath the hotel which was great. Thank-you for a wonderful stay we will definitely stay again when were in the Isle of Man.
- Charles (10/5): Lovely hotel and location on the seafront - Stayed two nights for business. Really lovely hotel, friendly staff and good facilities - would def stay again
- John (10/5): - An absolute gem, staff in all areas were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The chef is topnotch and produces an excellent range of dinner choices. Would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel. Great local beer. Handy cinema just across the road. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the Isle of Man.
- Huzaifa (2/5): - CRAP HOTEL AVOID AT ALL COSTS THEY DONT OFFER YOU LATE CHECK EVEN WHEN YOUVE TOLD THEM BEFORE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL INDEED AVOID YOUD RATHER STAY AT A MOTEL.
- Timothy (10/5): - Pleasantly surprised by the high standard of this competitively priced hotel
- Paul (8/5): - Quiet.
Atrium/balcony arrangement odd.
- Kathryn (10/5): World class service - I had broken my wrist and all the staff could not have been more helpful in taking care of me. When it seemed like I might not make my flight they kept my room on hold. The night porter made sure I was safe on my return from A&E in the middle of the night.
Sometimes the best way to judge a hotel is not just by the bricks and mortar, but by the people who run it. On that basis, this hotel is truly world class.
- David (6/5): - Been staying here for about 4 years on and off. The hotel is looking dingy. Our bedroom had a coffee stain on carpet. Also very limited choice for breakfast. I like yoghurt with fruit. No dried fruit and rarely a banana. Porridge was good. Staff were pleasant but some ignored you at breakfast. Hope the hotel will get back to its prior high standard.
- Garry (10/5): Weekend break - We really enjoyed our stay at the Mannin hotel. We arrived early and were allowed to go to our room. All the staff were very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast each day was lovely with plenty of choice. I loved the design of the hotel, especially with the internal balconies. The bed was comfy and the room was really nice. We will definitely be returning here 🙂
- Kenneth (10/5): - This property was perfectly located and an easy walk to all interests in Douglas. Our room was clean and comfortable, however just in need of a little updating. All staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We will stay here when in Douglas next time!
- Colleen (6/5): - Breakfast very disappointing
- Michael (10/5): - Overall stay was excellent BUT room we had could do with coat of paint as walls were marked, carpet could do with a clean as it was stained, BUT overall cleanliness was excellent
- Tim (10/5): First work trip - I came to the Isle of man to work and it is the first time travelling alone. The hotel and staff I encountered from reception to breakfast were all really welcoming and lovely. I would definitely come and stay again.
- MRS D (10/5): - Lovely hotel ideal location, had a great stay. Staff very helpful.
- Gordon (10/5): - Excellent in every way except..and this is only a minor point..which I mentioned to the reception..when looking out of the window from the dining room, rubbish in the garden area, which detracts from the overall excellence…we would certainly come back and recommend this hotel to friends
- Lord Paul (8/5): - The hotel is fine, if nothing to write home or rave about. It's run in a similar manner to a low cost budget hotel. EG: No Room Service, Daily Housekeeping on request rather than as standard.
The rooms have a kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits. There is also a fridge (with some free bottled water which is nice) hairdryer, iron and ironing board. So it has everything you need.
The rooms are on the small side and oddly face inward to the lobby. They have a balcony which is inside, overlooking the reception area. I can't imagine why anyone would want to sit on it. It's a pretty stupid design idea, they would have been better making the rooms larger rather than adding a balcony. All in all the rooms are serviceable. WIFI is available, it's free and strong enough to stream.
Bathrooms are clean, small but well equipped. They have everything you need.
The staff we interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful. The public areas are tiny, the bar is quite literally a few sofas and tables in the lobby but the place is clean.
The location is central and within walking distance of everything in Douglas.
Room prices are reasonable for what you get. Would I consider it value for money? Yes probably. I wasn't unhappy with the stay but neither was I blown away or impressed, it was mediocre, not terrible and not great, somewhere in the middle.
- Andrew (10/5): 3 days - 3 days touring the island and seeing the TT practice.
Lovely place
- Martin (10/5): Stay in Douglas - We stayed for 1 night. It was pretty faultless including really nice breakfast. We walked frok the ferry terminal - about 20 mins along the sea front. Nice walk except one beach area of very smelly seaweed or fish or something. Hotel is away from town centre which is good job as was very noisy in town centre on Saturday night. Hotel was very comfortable andveverything seemed well thought out. Could do with some pictures in our ling outside corridor?
- Miora (4/5): - I booked a partial Seaview onto Broadway. When I got to the hotel, they put me in the Aintree rooms looking over to the reception area bar underneath, I always have a room looking out onto Broadway where it is quieter. I did ask at the desk about it and I was informed that the girl said no you haven’t booked that when she looked online she realised I had, but could give no reason for that swap my room I only stayed one night and moved to the Sefton will not go to this hotel again, and also the maintenance man was very rude
- Paul (10/5): - Great place to stay for work or pleasure, car park is handy but has a very tight turn at the top. Breakfast was brilliant, didn’t eat dinner restaurant was shut mid week.
- Angela (10/5): - Very enjoyable friendly clean and a nice breakfast. Room was lovely.
- Anthony (10/5): - Such a lovely hotel. Staff are fantastic. Great value for money and an extremely relaxing place to stay. I would highly recommend.
- NICOLA (10/5): Will definitely be back again soon !! - Really attentive staff, very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast cooked to perfection, Elizabeth really looked after us.
- Stanley (10/5): One Night on Broadway Isle of Man - Pleasant staff, clean and well-maintained premises. There is limited parking in the basement but chose to park our vehicle on roadway outside. Access to car park could be difficult with a larger vehicle.
Breakfast was very good with good selection of hot and cold items and staff kept dining area clean and tidy.
The only thing which amused was the balcony overlooks the atrium / reception area.So no view to speak off. With Manx winter weather it's probably a better option.
Overall very impressed and would certainly stay there again.
- Simon (10/5): - Friendly staff, good location, the bed was comfy and good food served too!!
- Kathryn (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great hotel and the people were lovely. We got in late due to a delayed flight and they kept the kitchen open late for us so we could get a proper dinner. When our flight out was cancelled, we tried to stay there again, but they were sold out. Thus, we had to settle for another (less nice hotel) around the corner. Highly recommend!
- John (10/5): - Room are nice with little balconies. It’s quiet with good self serve breakfast and a pleasant bar. You’re right in the heart of Douglas so can go anywhere.
The only dislike is that the underground car park is tight. If your vehicle is larger than C-class/Midsize you may have less anxiety parking in the street.
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Lovely Accommodation, Poor parking for cars,
- Sara (8/5): - Easy access to Douglas sea port and town centre. Very clean. Nice to have a small fridge in the room. Dinner was good although menu somewhat limited. Great breakfast. Would stay again.
- Glyn (10/5): - Quality hotel in a great location.
- Sean (10/5): 2nd stay this year - Fantastic hotel. Room was very clean and the bed was large and comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): Liked to have stayed longer - Close to everything distance wise and staff very obliging and helpful with such things as bus times etc
- Andrew (10/5): Quality hotel perfectly central - A no hassle pleasant stay over two nights. Quality hotel with friendly staff and great food.
- Duncan (10/5): All good - All great , no problems staff excellent
- Brian (10/5): Great hotel and staff. - Stayed at the Mannin after recommendations from people that live on the IoM and it didn’t disappoint. Have stayed at another hotel only a stones throw away but would NEVER stay there again.
- Barrie (8/5): Far enough, but close enough to the town - I come over regularly and split my trip between this hotel and another. It’s obviously too popular though. As I can’t get in the next time.
- David (10/5): - Arrived at the hotel, and it was very clean, newly refurbished by the look of it. Check in was great, the lady behind the desk was very helpful. Room was clean, bathroom new, well maintained. Bed comfortable, although the pillows had a funny smell !! No disruption from traffic noise from the main road out the front. It was about a 15 minute walk along the promenade to the marina and bars/restaurants.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice, fresh eggs cooked to order, not left on a hot plate which was nice.
Will definitely be staying there again.
- craig (10/5): - Very good hotel.
Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendliness. of everyone and very helpful. A great hotel
- James (6/5): - No hot food from kitchen early evening, nor room service. Good job there was a nice restaurant a couple of doors up.
- Anthony (4/5): utted - We booked to stay as we were going to a function in Douglas.
Reception staff lovely and friendly and efficient.
Afternoon/Evening staff were rude and unhelpful.
There was a private function so we asked if we could have a drink in the restaurant on arrival they made it clear they didn’t want us to dirty the table and made us feel uncomfortable enough we took our drinks to our room.
So we didn’t have our room smelling of food we went to the restaurant just after 5pm and were told Not we’re fully booked’
Nobody was sat in the restaurant so after going into another hotel to eat we noticed the restaurant was still empty at 6.30pm.
On arrival back from the function at approximately 11.30pm we were left waiting for 15 minutes to get a drink whilst the bar staff chatted amongst themselves.
The up side was in the morning the breakfast staff were friendly and polite
- David (10/5): - I have been there before twice and like it
V friend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Old facade conceals a modern hotel inside.
Staff friendly and helpful
Nice atmosphere for business meetings.
- David (10/5): Great Hotel but bad initial contact - The hotel was really good but we were not told of the roadworks which meant that the hotel could not be accessed from the promenade and was only accessed by a complicated series of back roads. As we arrived from the ferry at after midnight in the dark without any instructions or map of how to get to the hotel entrance it was impossible to get to the hotel by car. We had to walk to the entrance which after a long journey up to Liverpool from Kent was not appreciated. We should have been given some useful info and you failed in this. The night porter could not leave the hotel to give us any help either.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay at The Mannin - The Hotel is situated almost central along the Promenade. Very clean accommodation with amazing staff. A fabulous stay and a good time had in the Isle of Man.
- ANDREW (10/5): Long weekend-again. - Great position, hotel very clean throughout. Staff excellent especially breakfast staff. Great value will stay again in December.
- John (10/5): - The exceptional service all staff very attentive and helpful and five star cleanliness enjoy our stay . Food of a high standard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff very friendly. Good selection of food for breakfast. Room very clean.Resturant very good in the evening.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Central location and very bright and clean place - happy to stay there
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The difficulty finding a suitable time to book an evening meal due to groups booked into the hotel. The staff were not very accommodating and the dining room never appeared full. The menu was very limited and changed very infrequently.Great if you like chips and peas with nearly everything!!!!
- marion (8/5): nice hotel - lovely room with sea view. very clean. bottled water in the fridge every day. some staff friendly unfortunately some werent. breakfast wasnt that warm as was a buffet english fried breakfast. ran out of pastries one day & tinned fruit so not the best breakfast. quiet hotel as we werent in the atrium part of the hotel. bus stop nearby. not too far from town centre.
- Andy (10/5): fantastic hotel - Fantastic hotel. Book a balcony room!
- vic (10/5): - Very well appointed room but because balcony opens on to internal space, had to use aircon too much.
Would have preferred a room with window opening onto the outside world.
- Sharon (10/5): Cycle break - Great 4 day stay at the mannin hotel. Great location. Very modern & clean. Cycling the island was amazing.
- Edmund (10/5): Isle of man short break. - Very pleased with the hotel, very clean comfortable rooms good position service good.only slight negative point the menu could possibly be changed during the week for a couple of days to give a little more variation,The food was very good and we'll cooked at a competitive price. Only stayed first 4 days but very pleased with the hotel and would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - An excellent well positioned hotel halfway along the Promenade.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Recently renovated to a high standard similar to mainstream top end chain hotels. Great central location in Douglas.
Underground car park is challenging to get into as corners are extremely tight - the builders made a mistake in construction !
- Harald (10/5): A great hotel with a poor kitchen - A great friendly hotel which deserves a much better kitchen and more professionally trained waiters. We enjoyed the Archibald Knox inspired details found around the hotel.
Unfortunately some of the food was hardly edible. One of our guests just returned the soup and my smoked haddock for breakfast was unrecognizable and just tasted salt. Plenty room in the garage.
- Fraser (10/5): - Service was excellent - Breakfast cooked to order as a variation to the menu options - great location.
- Adi (10/5): Excellent location in the heart of Douglas - Big spacious room, tasty breakfast and perfect location to visit isle of man
