Guest Reviews
- Scott (10/5): - Lovely staff
- luke (8/5): Nice hotel - Good location and nice friendly staff
- MANISHA (10/5): - Free parking. Nice staff and location. Near the station and quiet safe town.
- Jonathan (8/5): - Friendly staffs and convenient location
- John (6/5): Just ok - The evening meal was excellent. Breakfast ok, would have preferred back bacon and warm plates. Poor selection of fruit. Room was too hot even with fan. Needs updating. The shower is built for midgets and far too small. Dirty and dusty behind bedside tables. Toilet brush was dirty.
- Jackie (8/5): - Loved the friendly staff and service. Clean, bed very comfortable. Food was lovely.
Only thing I’d change, the choice of coffee pods for the Nespresso, the only ones available were awful, very bitter and didn’t taste like coffee at all! I’d have brought my mine if I’d known it was available.
- Martin (10/5): - Really nice place great food, no aircon, and can get hot in the summer, there are fans in the rooms and Wi-Fi can be a bit hit and miss, staff are great, and a great location.
- Susan (8/5): Overall a good place to stay - Everything about the day was excellent except for the noise. The hotel is on the road so there is car noise but it’s more about loudness of people walking by after they’ve been out on the town and walking home at all hours. The rooms are not double glazed class. Also unfortunately during our stay the alarm went off very early Saturday morning. Nobody from the hotel directed us or gave us any indication as to what was going on. This meant that they were people wondering about on the landing shouting and confused. It obviously turned out to be nothing but at no point did anybody from the hotel contact us to explain or apologise for the inconvenience.
The staff in the hotel, are all very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is also good.
- Martin (10/5): - Prime location, close to Railway / buses, , restaurants and shopping and in the town centre. Great service. Had a perfect stay. Will be back next year.
- Patrick (10/5): Made a work trip feel like a holiday! - Lovely period hotel with original features.
Very friendly staff who take pride in their work. ... you can tell it is an independent, rather than a chain.
Room serviced daily with fresh towels!
Plenty of free parking.
- Stuart (8/5): One night only - Room was ok, shower not great & bed a little uncomfortable, other than that staff were great, friendly and helpful & the food was really good
- Cheryl (8/5): - Nice spacious bedroom.
- Chris (6/5): Needs refurbishing- overpriced - Very much in need of refurbishing. No lift, very dated. Staff pleasant.
I thought it was overpriced for the quality.
- Jeremy (8/5): Nice place - I like to stay here when its convenient as the staff are friendly, the food is very good and there is free parking. The only issue with the hotel is that the rooms need a serious refurbishment, some more than others. But it doesnt stop me staying there.
- Matt (8/5): - Nice place. Very friendly staff. I think some rooms must be better than others as ours was not as nice as the ones in the photos. There did not seem to be an option to select the nicer rooms so it may be the luck of the draw.
- Peter (8/5): - Convenient and friendly with easy parking and good breakfast.
- Kathryn (8/5): Good value - Bedding and towels were clean and good quality. The room was clean if decoratively tired.
The area outside the window was untidy, I don't think all guests avoided smoking.
- Mark (4/5): Showing it's age - Nice people - good breakfast - just a tired building and room that was too noisy and dated with very uncomfortable pillows.
- Kelly (10/5): - The food that is available is of a high standard and a very reasonable price - you certainly get value for money.
The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, going above and beyond when asked.
- Dawn (4/5): - Great spot for the town but rooms are tired and the hotel was noisy if you are at the back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The broadway is a great hotel which I keep going to due to it's key location. Food and staff are great. Free parking is handy. The only criticism is the rooms are a bit tired and outdated but I don't really care about that. Overall it's a pleasant stay
- Wendy (8/5): Great location and super friendly staff - All of the staff from the waitress to the cleaners were lovely. We had a lovely staff, the chefs are excellent too, and we had great breakfast and evening meals.
- Martin (10/5): - Nice rooms though get hot in the summer as there's no air-conditioning, food is excellent
- Gareth (4/5): - Restaurant was closed on night of arrival. Fair enough as it was Boxing Day but we weren’t told in advance. We were recommended somewhere that was thankfully open. Also offered the option to sit in the restaurant with a takeaway. Family room was clean enough and bed was comfy but blinds were broken on both windows. Location was noisy as both lift and stairs were adjoining. No late night noise though. Plenty of free onsite parking. Breakfast was good and included in room rate.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good food at breakfast. In the centre of town.
Car park. Rather old fashioned hotel .
We would have liked a separate shower instead of a shower in the bath ,with no screen .
- Hester (8/5): Outstanding management and service - What stands out about this hotel, is the unique and exceptional quality of the service. There is a pervasive impression of a happy workforce, treating visitors more like welcome acquiantances than distant guests. This is a testimony to outstanding management.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A comfortable, privately owned hotel. A bit dated, as you might expect from a non-chain establishment, but it did not impact upon my stay.
Look out for the rather charming two-person elevator.
I had lunch and breakfast at the hotel. Their Leek & Pumpkin soup was really good, and was served with some superior rustic bread.
- Les (8/5): - Great accommodating staff, no issues - super breakfast!!
- Tom (8/5): - The staff is the BEST. Restaurant is really good. Rooms are showing their age or I would have given 4 stars.
- John (10/5): Excellent service, location, and value for money - Delightful independent place to stay very close to the centre of town. Warmly welcomed on arrival, nice room. Selection of local ales at the bar, and a full dinner menu. Price was very fair especially with breakfast included.
- Kevin (8/5): - Very nice. Nice staff
- Vanessa (8/5): - Broadway Hotel is very handy to Letchworth town centre. Although old everything works well including the classic lift!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did have trouble with the shower running cold then very very hot. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.
- Maxine (8/5): Disabled shower - The hotel is very good indeed. This was my second stay and I plan to stay again in September.
However, when I first stayed I had a room with a walk in shower rather than a bath. On accessing my room this time, I found it only had a bath with a shower. My partner is disabled and although ambulant, cannot access a bath. I asked about changing the room but was told only single rooms have the shower only. This is rather disconcerting as usually disabled people have a partner/carer with them which means a double room would be required. We had to keep the double room and my partner could only have a wash down rather than a full shower.
- Jacky (8/5): - .
- Deborah (10/5): - Super comfy except for the really small double bed. Clean, great breakfast, and lovely staff. Would recommend.
- John (10/5): - The location is excellent, staff friendly and cooperative, ask of a large room as their are some very small. Otherwise another great stay at the Broadway.
- David (8/5): - An old hostelry. Room was clean. A few minor things that need sorting such as the chain on the door and one tap. Quiet and central. The lift ill take your cases but I would avoid otherwise.
- Verity (8/5): - Good location, good breakfast, nice room. Value for money. Staff very nice.
- Toby (8/5): - Bar area very nice. Staff are very welcoming & very nice. Food is very good & Breakfast in morning. Room was ok. Bed was to small.
- Alan (6/5): A two star stay at a four star price. - Had to walk through a restaurant full of diiners to reception and back again to access the accommodation.
Got to our room to find it had not been servied and dirty linen was on the floor.
Back through the dinner's and was upgraded to a family room.
No outlet for the kettle, had to move and unplugthe tv. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were hard and the room above the restaurant was very noisy.
- Nigel (8/5): - Nice hotel attached to a really pleasant restaurant/bar. Great food and a nice breakfast both served by lovely staff. Will be back
- Chris (8/5): Great place to stay if visiting the town - Friendly Hotel pub in a great location for the town centre. Nice welcome and quick check in. Room was fine but bed was a bit small for a double. Great breakfast and Sunday lunches are the best!
- James H (10/5): The nicest hotel staff - I stayed with my daughter for a weekend to see extended family.
The staff were exceptionally and so welcoming, which made the weekend much more relaxing.
I can’t express enough how friendly everyone was.
Brilliant location, definitely would stay again.
- Dorothy (10/5): Overnight stay! - Greeted by very pleasant young lady. Room was very comfortable.
Bar staff very helpful and food scrumptious!
Breakfast was good.
A very pleasant stay.
- Steven (8/5): Traditiona Hotel, food is excellent - Nice hotel but traditional decor, a little old fashioned. Room was very small but was only staying 1 night so was OK. Staff are pleasant and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good.
- Les (10/5): - Friendly and accommodating staff. Great location and superb food.
- JOHN (10/5): Comfortable, friendly with good food - Used the hotel on a Sunday stopover travelling from Heathrow airport. Although it is somewhat dated, the room was clean and spacious, TV coffee ,tea etc. available in the room. The bathroom was large and clean. Water nice and hot. Sunday Carvery was excellent, variety of veg & 4 meats to choose from all was hot and GF gravy provided for me. The breakfast was cooked freshly. With usual fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt, toast and croissants available. Plenty of dedicated parking space to the side of the hotel. Although an older style hotel, it compared favourably with my usual stopover at a premier inn (bed was just as comfortable!). The pricing was lower than the large chain hotels through hotel.com. Definitely happy to stay at this hotel in a future stopover.
- Upender Nath (10/5): - Nice small hotel with bar & restaurant. Room are okay. Though single bed was literally 2.5-3 ft wide, but served the purpose. All in all okay.
- Howard (8/5): - Room 202 needs paintwork improved. Shower over the bath. No grab rails. Dangerous
- Mark (10/5): Highly recommended - I was here for 1 night for business. The bed was probably the best I've ever slept in! I ate in the restaurant in the evening which was lovely and had the ribs as the offer of the day. The breakfast the next morning was delicious.
- Lee (10/5): Brilliant - If you’re ever looking to to stay in this area I highly recommend you stay here. Staff are very polite, rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, the food is a little pricey for my liking that’s because I’m from up north lol. I’ll 100% be staying again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel Stay - Lovely old hotel with a modern touch. Large comfy room. But the bed was a bit old & could do with an updated or new base & mattress. Bed a bit squeaky!! Some sticky marks to the carpet in the bedroom?! Bathroom was spotless though!
Great buffett breakfast plenty of variety.
Fantastic evening meal!!
Lovely freindly staff.
Really good free parking!
- Terence (8/5): - Hotel is lookimg a bit faded. But it was bright and lots of locals visit. Staff were friendly and helpfull, breakfast choice was good.
The hotel lift is an experience of another age. Our room was clean, with every thimg we needed, except the only light was by the bedside. Leaving the rest of the room dim. The hotels rear rooms overlook a carpark and roofs but that doesn't matter for a short visit. Would stay again if we are that way.
- Paul (8/5): Broadway Hotel Letchworth - Love the staff and food. Only disappointment was how tired the room felt. Really needs an update (very 80’s). Still a clean and comfy night and did I mention how good the staff are
- Samantha (10/5): Staying for uni day - Fantastic stay. Very friendly welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Absolutely fantastic evening meal.
- jamie (6/5): - Rooms are very dated.
Beds and furniture could do with bringing at least into the 90s.
Bar area excellent and modern.
Rooms nothing better than hostel vibes.
2 irons to service 40 plus rooms.
- Karen (10/5): - What an absolutely lovely place to stay. The room was nice and clean and the bed very comfy. The staff go out of their way to look after the guests and the convenience of having a pub downstairs is brilliant! The hotel is in an ideal spot for a wander around the many shops, very nice bars and restaurants and a country park within a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was amazing!! All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a stay here if you’re visiting Letchworth.
- colin (8/5): Enjoyable stay - A very pleasent stay. Room and food all good. Decor a bit shabby in parts and lift very small.
- David (10/5): - Superb location near the station and town centre. Excellent value for money with lovely breakfast included. Would recommend and will stay again.
- cristina (10/5): - Hight class
- Andrew (10/5): - Dated but very good value
- Gary (10/5): - excellent
- cristina (10/5): - Everything was ok
- cristina (10/5): - All îs very well
- cristina (10/5): - Lovely staff
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean and friendly hotel, great location. Good room. Quality breakfast with a great range of choice.
- Zuzana (10/5): 5 stars service - Everything was amazing, the staff was very helpful, friendly, breakfast in the morning was very good. Would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel, buta couple of small tweaks needed. - Booked a single room, but it was situated right next to to lift and the floor's entrance door.
Luckily the changed it to a far quieter and more comfortable room at other end of corridor.
Room and bed were very comfortable. My only complaint was that I was unable to turn on the cold water tap for a bath/ shower so had to part fill the bath by tranferring cold water from the sink.
Breakfast was free, plentiful and delicious.Friendly staff.
- Alexander (10/5): Last minute overnight - A Good find! - Managed to book a room last minute on a Sunday and was not disappointed. Bed was very nice and the room was spotless. Nice coffee machine in the room also. Breakfast was cooked fresh (not in a self serve or buffet arrangement) and very nice. Staff were fun, engaged and efficient.
- Philip (8/5): Good value hotel - Good value hotel in the centre of Letchworth, friendly staff, good food and comfortable room
- Jane (6/5): Noisy room - Sadly we were given a very noisy room on the first floor at the top of the stairs. This spoilt the stay as resulted in disturbed nights and lack of sleep - avoid room 102
- william (8/5): Could do better with very little effort - Good check in, good location for train station, room temperature to hot (could not control radiator) l had to leave window open.
Breakfast service slow but good staff and excellent food quality. Just need to make coffee and juice self service to speed things along.
- Christopher (8/5): a nice all round place - A lovely place, well located, great parking facility, good service and enjoyable food. The room had a comfy bed and loved the sash windows, but you certainly felt the cold and the wind on a night...
Somewhere I would certainly use again.
- Chris (10/5): Nice stay over new years - Easy check in, comfortable if a little dated room. Nice big bathroom. Good breakfast though missed the hashi browns on the 2nd morning!
- Cammie (8/5): - The staff is really friendly and helpful. They printed a map to help me find my destination. So kind!
- Anthony (10/5): - Clean and tidy. Entrance needs to be more prominent, you enter through a restaurant.
- Michele (8/5): Our stay in Letchwortg - We enjoyed our stay. The beds and bedding were lovely and it was nice to have a lovely bath. Walls are a bit thin but this didn’t cause a problem. Last year breakfast was table service and really delicious. This year it was buffet, which was okay, but not as lovely. Some of the suedette furniture could do with a good wipe down. Really good value all the same and we enjoyed our stay.
- Roland (10/5): Happy Hotel - The staff are friendly, welcoming and took trouble to ensure our visit went well.
- Susan (8/5): - Lovely hotel with lots of character. Friendly staff and clean comfortable room.
- David (6/5): - Room very small, only standard double bed, so very small for 2 people and WiFi not working. Was OK, but didn't feel like great value for money.
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful place - Its an absolutely beautiful hotel, bar i was only there for 1 night, that 1 night made me want ro come back again for longer.
- JB (10/5): - kind staff, close to everything in town
- Lynn (8/5): Jubilee stay - Lovely hotel, friendly staff and food was amazing. However, we were let down by not being told there was a disco until 1am and it was right underneath our rooms. Receptionist asked them to finish at 12.30am.
- Adam (10/5): Great place to stay. Enjoy. - Staff so friendly. Lovely place to be and stay. The food was excellent. Fair price to stay considering the influx of people coming for the Liam Gallagher concert. Other hotels clearly charged significantly more because of this. Respect to the Broadway for keeping their price affordable. Thank you.
- Marion (10/5): Great Hotel - great hotel great staff
room comfortable
location was near the station
breakfast was a bonus
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed here plenty of times, pleasant hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sadly not great . - Room had a pair of left behind dirty socks in cupboard waiting to great me , as well as a broken shower and slow running water in bath .
Carpet in hotel needed a clean ( see photos) .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent hotel. - Great location next to the station but room a bit noisy as not double glazed and walls very thin. Service was good and the food wasn’t bad at all
- Michele (10/5): - Our room was a twin, small but absolutely fine. The staff were lovely, decor downstairs great, good location and a wonderful breakfast
- Rob (6/5): OK place to stay -
Got into the hotel - stood waiting to be checked in but the staff member just said - ring the bell rather than calling her colleague which i thought was a bit strange
Stayed in room 212
Hot water is dangerously hot - with no warning. I would suggest that this is attended to.
The TV remote does not work, and is obviously a known issue as you cant turn the TV off. Maybe that's why it was turned off at the mains when i first go into the room which i thought was strange.
Had food - which was OK. Not the best steak but not the worst. Breakfast was "safe"
Don't like having a service charge added automatically, especially when its a loan diner with one course.......
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Hotel clean and well appointed. Good central position.
- philp (10/5): - it was amazing
- Craig (10/5): - Excellent stay, bat and restaurant area very nice
- Caroline (10/5): Great stay - Great location right next to the train station, the staff were amazing extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The only small draw back was the location of the check in desk right in the bar dining room area but everything else was fantastic. Would definitely go back.
- Rachel (10/5): Rachel - I was in Letchworth with my family and siblings who had travelled in from Ireland, Canada and the US, and all I can say is that the broadway staff so looked after us and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious too! All in all I would highly recommend it. A very positive experience! Thank you
- Melissa (10/5): - Excellent staff hotel clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts and great restaurant.
- Derek (8/5): A brief return to Letchworth. - The room was adequate for our short stay, it was rather small and the on suite was due an upgrade, I would have rather had a shower without a bath. Being rather elderly climbing into and out of a bath can be quite a challenge. All was very clean both bathroom and bedroom. The breakfast was enjoyable, set us up for the morning.
- Yvette (10/5): Lovely stay - Had a lovely stay - accommodation was great - breakfast was brilliant - shower broke but we managed - all in all had a great time x
- Richard (10/5): Nice stay - Nice stay whilst visiting friends family in area. I was expecting the Carvery that the Broadway was famous for a few years ago but that has been replaced conventional restaurant. I had a road facing room which was noisier than I was expecting. Didnt help it was warm so i had windows open . I nice stay though
- Joanna (10/5): Letchworth - Broadway - Staff very friendly and attentive , room nice and bathroom clean, fan in the room as it was a warm day.
