- Tomes (8/5): It provides what one needs for one night stay, food & closeness to the venue I was attending. - Sadly could only get one tv station & the wifi dropped out
- Bronwen (2/5): Disappointing - Bedlinen was clean and fresh. Unfortunately this property is very rundown and needs refurbishment.
- lesley (10/5): More than hapy with our stay and would happily stay again. - Didn't have breakfast as we left early. Had dinner on our arrival the menu was not large but enough choice and the prices were very good, the food was excellent and piping hot
- sheena (10/5): - Comfortable room staff friendly, food good nice atmosphere
- Jenny (10/5): I had an amazing weekend in beautiful surroundings with beautiful people. - Friendly staff and locals. Great food, breakfast was cooked perfectly and dinner was lovely. Easy to park. Good size rooms with en suite. Dog friendly. Over night whilst trying to sleep there was a constant dripping noise. Not the end of the world just a bit annoying.
- Philip (8/5): Good value for money hotel. - Welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely warm cosy atmosphere. bedroom were clean and compact. Breakfast exceptional and very helpful chef. Better shower.
- Paul (7/5): - Good breakfast.
- Russell (7/5): - Staff friendly helpful
Food dinner was good size and tasty , cheap beer round 4 drinks 15 quid
Breakfast good value đ
Bed was clean and comfortable Small bit of mould be left of window on wall below
Electric heater didnt work..but small radiator did
Room cold march weather ..but bed had plenty of blankets so not too bad ..shower low powered electric one just had to be quick ok did work OK just low water pressure...did the job though
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Albin (9/5): Will certainly use this hotel again - Brilliant breakfast and very friendly host
- Michelle (1/5): A test of endurance - The smell and very outdated decor and furnishings. The atmosphere in the was bar unpleasant.
- Wallace (8/5): -
- Roberta (4/5): 4/10 - The location and breakfast were great The room was very cold; the portable radiator did not really warm it much and the wall radiator was lukewarm. The shower turned cold after 2 minutes (and we had to turn it off and on again to get warm water), and the cleanliness was not the best.
- leonard (8/5): - Location fine
- Slade (8/5): Good value fir money - Good value for money Very noisy bed.

- Peter (10/5): Great value for money - This was simple basic accommodation but great value for money, spotlessly clean with easy access and free car parking. The staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast is superb. Nothing it met all my expectations
- Chris (4/5): 1970s time warp experience a bit rundown could do with a lick of paint and a general makeover - Location and pleasant Owner Smelt musty and damp, tied and dated decor Brown duvet set looked odd
- Hywel (8/5): - Exellent service from staff
- Avril (5/5): OK - no luxuries. Staff were friendly - It was fair for the price i paid It was all very tired and needed a revamp. The food was fine . Not much choice of white wines in the bar
- Paul (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Richard (2/5): Very poor - Carpet needed hoovering windows sills needed cleaning Everything was shabby. That's why
we dined and breakfasted in hotel across the road.
- Fiona (2/5): - Shabby and dated decor, a door off the bathroom had a notice on saying it was to be kept locked, this was open and working combi boiler was inside covered in cobwebs with big holes in floor boards, couldnât sleep worrying about carbon monoxide poisoning! Towel rails dropped of the wall when you touched them, light above sink not working in bathroom, carpet was dirty, windows wouldnât open, on the plus side clean sheets and towels
- Linda (8/5): Jamie very nice and made our day very good cook but did need to do some work on the property and clean rooms every day - We loved the people but could be up dated a lot and brighten it up to many dark colours It wasnât up to our started and wasnât very clean
- Beth (6/5): Somewhere to rest my head - Update Rooms
Old
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant - Area Needed updating
- Robin (2/5): - Staff were nice, room was clean.
But itâs not even at hostel level.
Smelly, old, dire.
Paid for 2 nights/2 rooms (non-refundable). Left after one night.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - That Jamie Lloyd fella is a top guy, good name
- Anne (1/5): Bad - Not a lot Not clean
Wouldnât recommend
- Dave (7/5): Good -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheila (8/5): - Hotel room basic could of done with a women's touch with the cleaning.
Evening food in the bar was excellent. The hunters chicken was the best I've ever had, and the fish and chips was 1st class.
Breakfast was just as good all cooked to order and plenty of it.
- Lynnette (6/5): Pleasant - Very friendly helpful staff and good food
- Jane (8/5): - Photo's on website didnt match what we found on arrival and definitely 2 star. But the staff were friendly. The breakfast and dinners were great value and delicious it's in a good location and easy to park.
- Alan (5/5): Passable -
- Alastair (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (2/5): Very poor - Locations great n staff we found were nice. Towels n bedding clean. It smells ..like really bad. Our room, room 12 stank like dog and bathroom smelt of drains...in fact the whole building smells.
I can accept the room being dated etc but not how it smelt n bathroom awful, we have friends in the area n they came to look and couldn't believe it.
Check out was strange too..I locked the door n went up to the pub where dining room was to hand it in but all locked up and the ring doorbell that was there yesterday was missing..god knows what happened in an emergency.
This was ÂŁ80 room only n breakfast would be ÂŁ10 each which is scandalous considering Riverbank B@B is ÂŁ100 including breakfast for their biggest room and is stunning yet same price essentially!
I couldn't voice my concerns to staff this morning as I couldn't find any .
I wouldn't stay again.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Good beer, friendly hosts A bitcdown at heel
- Glyn (5/5): Pub was nice and friendly - Location Need a paint job and cobwebs in the light
- Naj (7/5): Comfortable & staff were good - Left early so No Carpet was wet & therefore smelled a little
- Dafydd (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sandra (7/5): Good -
- Rodney (3/5): Poor - Breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff are very friendly. The rooms and decor are dated. The rooms need a thorough clean See above
- Alexa (7/5): Good -
- Karon (6/5): Did what we needed it to do. Issues wouldn't stop us staying again. - Pleasant staff, helpful and stressed to ask if we had any issues.
Lovely meal that was excellent value for money. Tired room, mattress had the roll towards the middle. The room could have done with a really good clean although superficially looked OK. The room was very cold and although the radiator was on a portable heater was also
needed.
- Rahul (6/5): - Poor wifi
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Owner and staff friendly and accommodating for price canât have any complaints Owners great free WiFi good food

- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (1/5): Never again all photos of the mold will be available to view - Nothing Rooms full of mold was unable to stay due to health conditions that the mold would of caused and was changed the full booking price also was mentioned to be dog friendly as one of the group had a emotional support Dog then was told they wouldnât refund because we had a dog lose running around
- Roz (7/5): Good - Lovely friendly greeting, relaxed and my was dog made very welcome and good beer
- Amy (1/5): Dreadful - The lady who showed me to my room was friendly. The hotel was absolutely disgusting. The mould on the bedroom walls and around the windows was absolutely appalling. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and I can only imagine it's as old as the building itself. The room was so cold. I could hear people walking around upstairs all through the night due to the creaky floorboards. People who had been drinking in the bar were outside my window laughing loudly at around 1:30am. I didn't feel at all safe. After showing a video of the hotel room to my fiends the only good thing she had to say about it is "at least the bed sheets were clean". I am shocked this place is allowed to continue to run as a business and a "hotel" in the state it is. I am not one for complaining but after the night I have had at this place I feel it's only fair that people know what this letting themselves in for when paying with their own hard earnt money to stay here. It actually brung tears to my eyes when I got to the room and realised that is where I had to spend the night.
- Karen (7/5): Good - N/a The shower . Bit Manky
- Ann (4/5): Disappointing, needs upgrade. - Good location. Good shower. Had to ask for heat, wifi and TV to be fixed. Wallpaper falling off the wall and dirty, looked like previous damp problem. Basic and poor furniture and fittings. Insufficient bedding. Not very clean.
- Christine (7/5): Good -
- Sheena (10/5): - Friendly staff , nice atmosphere ,good food room comfortable and warm
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (6/5): Pleasant - Confortable bed, friendly staff Shower was tricky to handle. The room had a kettle and two mugs, but no coffee /tea/milk (only sugar left).
- Tracy (8/5): - This place is a quiet and friendly hotel where the staff make you feel very welcome. The breakfast we had was fabulous and the walks nearby were amazing we will definitely be staying there again!
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): - Clean friendly staff and food was good
- Desmond (7/5): Good -
- Mellanie (4/5): - Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and the room was very dirty. Needs a good wipe around the skirting boards. But could also do with a lick of paint
- Kristiina (7/5): Good - Decent value for money, coffee and tea provided in the room and very helpful staff The room seems to struggle with damp in the winter months (not a surprise for an old building) and the decor was fairly worn.
- Dawn (7/5): Suited us for a one night stay and a bed for the night, room was a decent size , was ok for the purpose of our trip - Nice location for the Royal Welsh showground , basic accommodation but dated , reasonable on price , staff very friendly , food plentiful and dog friendly - huge plus ! On site parking and fairly quiet despite a busy bar on a sat night Accommodation was very tired , curtains hung off of the track when pulled , towel rails were broken and just perched on bracket until you tried to use, carpets were covered in bits and looked like they hadnât been hoovered for a while
- Katarzyna (8/5): Very good - Very friendly staff. Nice localisation.
- Christine (9/5): Great place to stay! - Weâve stayed here in the past and have already booked again for next year. Its location is perfect and great for getting to the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great, good value and plenty of it! They took my favourite lemon meringue dessert off the menu âšď¸
- Eddie (7/5): Good - Food was very good.staff very very good interior needs a update but clean Fella guests leaving there pets alone, that constant barking also constant noise walking up and down banging stuff all the time may need soundproofing???
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Laurence (6/5): Good -
- Steph (10/5): Great night away - Everything
From check In to check out everything was great - staff were so friendly and the homemade burgers were amazing. My partner had the cod and it was so nice to see proper hand battered fish in a pub For the price it was more than we could of wanted
- Steph (10/5): Great break with friends - Travelled with friends and had a great time. Food was really good and we will be coming back soon. The area was perfect for walking and motorbikes and the town was so pretty with flowers everywhere All was great
- Chris (7/5): Fantastic staff, well liked after. - The staff couldnât have been nicer and good food, both dinner and breakfast The carpet was well worn, didnât like the constant blast of music in pub and slot machine. Tea and coffee making facilities in room fair, but I like earl grey and exciting biscuits would have been a bonus.
- Alison (1/5): Awful. Checked out two days early - Dirty and tatty
- Gareth (8/5): - comfortable room with great bed , all the facilities for my overnight stay, lovely staff and great food , nice bar area

- Gubbins (5/5): it is one of the cheaper places in town, and so worth the money. really good to be warm enough - location good
heating really appreciated on this cold day lot of mould on windows. Condensation problem.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
