- Joshua (8/5): Good stopover - Visited the manor for a stopover before visiting Alton Towers. Warm and friendly welcome, with our breakfast pre-order taken which meant we could get going in plenty of time to the theme park. Rooms have everything you need for an overnight pit stop; plenty of tea and coffee, decent bed, TV, and spacious bathroom. The towels were a bit small and we were missing one, but it was quickly sorted the next morning. Locally a few places for food and drink including budget friendly options. The photo I've uploaded is the view from the front of room 6.
- Steven (6/5): Very disappointing - We stayed at The Manor Guesthouse for 2 nights in Room no.3. Reception is at the back of the property via the large car park and attractive garden. Reception is not always staffed but you are given a telephone number for 24hr contact. Our room along with several others was in an extension to the main building and had the appearance of a motel. The room was quite basic with a double and a single (not needed) bed, dressing table, chair, mirror and bedside cabinet. Looking at the website the picture shows our room to be an economy double with one side of our bed up close to a radiator. We had paid £233 for the two nights and expected more. Added to this the broadband packed up and the TV stopped working. The mattress was uncomfortable as it was rather springy. Our room was not serviced although we made a point of coming out of our room to allow for this (you have to be out of your room between 11am and 1.30pm). Breakfast at Weatherspoons on the Saturday morning was fine but they only allow a £7 voucher which covers the smaller Full English and coffee. On the Sunday the breakfast in the guesthouse was excellent with hot and cold food available. An easy chair in the room would have been nice. In my opinion this is more a 3 star establishment than 4 star. We were disappointed but did not let it spoil our visit.

- Karen (10/5): - My mum and I had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. It’s set around a beautiful, tranquil courtyard garden with a Koi fishpond. The room was lovely, clean, fresh and quiet. The owner is adorable, friendly and couldn’t do enough to accommodate us including a last minute room change to a family room. I will definitely be staying here again. If I could give you 10*s, I would. Congratulations on a perfect hotel.

- James (8/5): - We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast.

- Tessa (10/5): - We had a lovely stay. I booked here as it was only 5 miles from Alton Towers as we were there for 2 days and love 4.5hours away. Myself and my son were very pleased with the service and the room. Everything was so clean and tidy. The garden was beautiful and well kept. Breakfast was freshly cooked and we ordered the night before when checking in, very well organised and means they know how much to prepare each day. Continental breakfast had things you would normally expect - toasters, cerial, juice, fruit and cerial. Overall an amazing guesthouse. Myself and my 15 year old son loved our stay.

Extremely close to several places to eat and only 15min drive from Alton Towers. Would definitely come back again.

- Craig (10/5): Great guest house surrounded with nice gardens. - Had a 1 night stay here at beginning of march with the family. Stayed in the annexe off the main building which looked out onto the gardens & fish pond. Room was nice & tidy, good size & comfy beds. Next morning had a cooked breakfast which was nice & also had the usuall choice of cereals, pancakes, yogurts & fruit. Staff were really friendly & greeted us by our names which was nice as it felt more personal rather than being just another customer. All in all would highly recommend staying here & I would have no problem in doing so myself again.
- Suzi (6/5): Did the job. - We arrived late and had been contacted about self check in which was all fine. As a room for 4 there was nowhere to really store cases or bags that wouldn’t be in the way. Unfortunately the family next to us were up at 6.30am with young shouting children, and the adults weren’t much better so we were all awake from then on so I don’t think the rooms around the courtyard are very soundproofed. Thankfully they were not there our second night so we managed more sleep. The beds were comfy and the showers was fine and those are the main things for me. Breakfast was nice and Peter was very welcoming, although no one asked us if everything during our stay was ok. All in all it’s a was a no-frills stopover for Alton Towers that did the job. Although, for the price and the noise issues, I wouldn’t go back.

The breakfast was delicious. Check-in and out were easy and simple. Instructions for getting there were helpful but may have been more informative if there were more options on the route you would take into the area. Would definitely stay here again. Also unsure on the eco-friendliness of the house as no recycling areas were seen but would not allow me to remove the raying of this.

Peter and his staff are really helpful and friendly. It is a very well run guesthouse. The breakfast choices are excellent. We had a lovely holiday and will definitely return next time we visit Alton Towers.

Only complaint was that the room & bathroom doors weren't very well fitted & needed a bit of a shove to open & close. This was obviously a common problem as we could hear slamming doors in the rooms around us. Despite this, we would return to this hotel.

I dont want to say anything bad because we enjoyed our stay but i will say things are a bit dated and need a spuce up. £101 for the night was ok as it did what it needed to. This hotel is clean and tidy and more than acceptable for a stay and the service was impeccable. However the rooms are only ok and decor is slightly dated. So overall I would recommend this hotel for a stay and you won't be disappointed if you remember the price you're paying and that the service is exceptional not the hotel.
- Nicola (8/5): Lovely place in a convient position - Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was lovely . It was in an excellent position in cheadle a 5 min walk to weatherspoons pub. The garden and pond were lovely . Quiet location . The only slightly annoying thing was the bathroom light was on a sensor and there was a couple of times it turned off when i was in the shower !

Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend especially for a trip to Alton Towers ..just 12 minute drive away. We would also recommend the Ship Inn as a place to eat just outside the Town.
