Guest Reviews
- Ndaira (10/5): - The amazing views and tranquility
- Louise (10/5): Absolutely stunning location, and Margi was a wonderful and welcoming host. - Margi was a wonderful host. The room and property were spectacular, and those views were stunning. Will be making this a regular stop. Her artwork is so beautiful and we loved learning about her and her work in our short visit. Will stay longer next time to experience sunset. It was breathtaking to wake up to the beautiful scenery and birds. Only complaint was we only booked for 1 night, and we missed the sunset as we were running late.
- Karen Lynette (10/5): Wonderful rural BnB with amazing views. - We loved the seclusion, quietness, amazing views and interesting “folly” buildings and rustic sculptures. Our room was spacious and decorated beautifully with old-world charm. The house provided a lovely selection of in-room Continental breakfast options, an array of soaps and perfumes, etc. There was even an outdoor hot & cold shower on the verandah for those brave enough to do that, overlooking the stunning countryside. The property is on 100 acres, on top of a hill. We loved everything.
- John (10/5): Thank you Margie, for your special care and beautiful surroundings! - Such a quiet and beautiful setting on top of the mountain overlooking Albury Wodonga. Kangaroos, birds and chickens. So peaceful! -
- Su (10/5): Peace and quiet, a good night's sleep - Margi was a lovely host. The bed was so comfortable and the view from the deck was stunning. Such a gorgeous, restful place 🙂
- William (10/5): One of the top stays on our 5 week roadtrip. - Fabulous setting, with private veranda on two sides overlooking countryside..Charming victorian theme. Wonderful garden with clever sculptures made by Margaret our delightful host. Very comfortable. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Unique in a good way. - Margy was a great host. Loved the room and the view is amazing. Will be back.
- Jeannine (10/5): Perfect - Beautiful stay!
Location & scenery
- Jiazhao (10/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): Exceeded expectations - The first and very impressive sighting of the house perched high on the hill was the start of the many wonders to come. It was a delight to meet Margi, discover her incredible artistic talents, learn the history of her home and enjoy surprise after surprise as we wandered the property. The views are drop-dead gorgeous, and the clucking of the chickens was a charming backdrop to cocktails on the verandah. Margi, thank you for your hospitality and for your incredible kindness, so very appreciated.
- Dan (10/5): 非常OZ的民宿体验! - 无敌360度美景! 开车上到山顶的路是石子路,车后扬尘比较严重,车后边会留下大量灰尘。
- Nicholas (10/5): This is a standout stay which will provide happy memories for many years to come. - This is a remarkable treasure of a place to stay. The view is stunning, the extensive garden and hilltop a delight to explore and the bedroom furnished tastefully to a very high standard. Above all the ambience of the setting, the story behind the venture and the affability of the owner provide an exhilarating experience. Some might find the bathroom sink a little eccentric.
- Sharon (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay. Margie was the perfect host. - Loved the whole experience. Beautiful aspect and well presented. Nothing
- Louise (9/5): -
- Francesca (10/5): Restful, blissful, serene, special. - Inspiring Views is a unique experience. We’ve never stayed anywhere as visually incredible, the property is simply magnificent from every angle.
Margi is an attentive, but non intrusive host, who we found to be so considerate and helpful, she has so many recommendations for the local area, if you can tear yourself away from her perfect bed and breakfast that is.
She has also curated the most fascinating collection of beautiful objects throughout the room, and the gardens are overflowing with amazing sculptures which have all been made by Margi, I believe there are more than 100. You could spend an entire day just trying to see them all.
The room is cosy, super clean, and so comfortable. You have everything you could need along with breakfast supplies and very generous tea and coffee supplies. There’s a mini fridge in the kitchenette so you could bring your own food to enjoy on the balcony if you didn’t want to drive anywhere for a meal.
We will come back every time we are in the area, it’s just the most beautiful place.
Don’t hesitate if you’re considering staying, you won’t regret it. How do you improve on perfection?

- Diane (10/5): One of the highlights of our 3 week road trip around regional Victoria - It was on a hilltop so the views of Wodonga and surrounds were stunning. The house and gardens were full of character, sculptures, antiques and historical memorabilia. (Also 12 beautiful chickens)The host was warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and intend to return. Nothing
- Justin (10/5): A gorgeous retreat for comfort. views and inspiration. - This is a truly unique and remarkable property. Either as a base for exploring the surrounding district, or simply as a comfortable and relaxing getaway the Inspiring Views BnB offers everything you could wish for. Set in a visually stunning location atop a hill with 360 degree views, you can see the surrounding mountains, valleys, Aubrey Wodonga, and some amazing sunrises and sunsets. The facilities were clean and comfortable and everything you could want was provided. History and art fans will appreciate the incredible collection of artifacts on display, from antique décor to over 100 sculptures created by the generous host. You can wander the grounds containing beautiful gardens, birds, wildlife and many pleasant surprises. The location is awesome and an easy drive to Wodonga or the surrounding scenic and historic villages. Margi was a generous host and we could not have wished for more. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Nicole (10/5): Once in a lifetime - Warme ontvangst, super mooie locatie, comfortabel bed, zalige buiten douche, onvergetelijk uitzicht, wakker worden met vogel geluiden, de verhalen van Margaret Niets
- Maugé (8/5): Emplacement extraordinaire - Emplacement et vue magnifiques
Calme et dépaysement
Gentillesse de la propriétaire Petit déjeuner très moyen surtout vu le tarif
Il faut vraiment remédier à ce défaut
- Katya (10/5): Such generous hospitality, magnificent natural setting. Thanks Margaret, loved the stay -
- Amanda (10/5): If you’re looking for a place of magic to disappear your long years of stress and hardship this is the place. Every nega - Everything. The views from everywhere. The beautiful garden. The house. The handmade sculptures. The cozy room. The train theme bathroom. The unique touches of welcome signs. The big breakfast. The outdoor shower. The antique details. All the creative projects. The story behind everything And the host herself is amazing, amazing is an understatement. I felt like I was in the presence of something magical. The energy was truly grounding. The history behind the property is incredible. Everything about inspiring views from the Gate to the 1km driveway is amazing. You need to stay longer to enjoy each and take everything in. Nothing

- Monique (8/5): Lovely place to stay. - The hospitality was lovely. The view was great. The room is clean and even though it was very Victorian theme it was modern as well. The host was accommodating and waited for us to arrive late at night. The breakfast was pre-packed and average in comparison to other B&B places we have stayed before. We did eat it the night before due to us arriving late and not being able to get dinner in town.
- Jamie (10/5): If you want a magical escape for a night this is the place! - I loved getting off the beaten track! This accomodation is special. A place to take brief respite from the world, even if just overnight. Nothing at all. It was perfect in an imperfect world of corporate overnights and over-priced motels with no personality.
- McLaren (10/5): I loved every minute and will definitely stay again when I’m next in the area. - Inspiring Views really was an inspiration. There is an amazing feeling of peaceful and calm and everywhere you look there is something unique to capture your interest- whether it is the stunning views, the sculptures that stand out or peak out, the buildings and the warmth of Margi. My three night stay was exactly the break I needed to take a breath, slow down, reflect and get some clarity. The King suite was cosy and had everything I needed.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Irrelevant question for this location.
- Michael (10/5): Inspiring and nostalgic. Great little B&B - The location, great views, a trip back into time, cosy room, host was lovely. The outdoor shower is fantastic (even in the middle of winter) and is a must use item. Nothing
- Susan (9/5): A very quirky place to stay in an absolutely stunning location - The location No sink in the kitchen area , but the host has addressed it as best as possible
- Anju (10/5): ♡ - Truly inspiring views and wonderful host! Margi has curated the most interesting experience and it’s definitely got its own magic. Just what we needed on our weekend escape.
Will definitely visit again!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Gracious host, great property for a restful getaway.

- Meagan (10/5): A Wonderful Country Escape - We had the pleasure of spending three nights at this charming bed-and-breakfast this autumn, and it was the perfect last-minute getaway! The country feel was just incredible, especially considering how close it was to Wodonga – we felt like we were miles away from everything, even though we were right in the heart of it all.
The beautifully appointed room had everything we could want, including a king-sized bed so comfortable we didn’t want to leave it. Honestly, it was like sleeping on a cloud! The room itself was absolutely gorgeous – the kind of space you’d expect to see in a luxury home magazine. We spent a lot of time on the veranda, enjoying the breathtaking mountain views. The BBQ area with multiple picnic spots and viewing chairs was perfect for relaxing, and the one-mile garden path lined with sculptures made us feel like we were strolling through an outdoor art gallery. A fun bonus was the option of using the outdoor shower – a truly unique experience, adding a touch of novelty to the stay!
Margi the host was fantastic – warm, accommodating, and respectful of our privacy. The whole vibe was just right: a perfect blend of country charm and modern comfort. There was so much to explore in the area with great day trips.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to escape and recharge! Nothing
- Betty (10/5): Exceptional - The amazing views were incredible!
We loved sitting out on the balcony and watch the sunset and enjoy our dinner as well.
Margi was a wonderful host too .
Thankyou for a memorable stay! Nothing
- Gadi (10/5): This place is absolutely from the fairytales and under priced. It’s for those who love to stay in nature. So many type - This place is absolutely from the fairytales and under priced. It’s for those who love to stay in nature.
So many types of birds around on the porch or on the diverse garden plants and trees. Beautiful songs they sing.
It’s on top of a hill overlooking farms and other wild hills and, on the other side, also on the town in the distance.
At night the starts look at you from up close. There’s no light noise at all there.
Moonrise, sunrise and sunsets are amazing!
The host is super nice and interesting. Worth taking the time to befriend her.
I saw my first Kangaroos from the yard, grazing and then jumping over a fence.
It’s totally safe on this farm house.
The house and room are well and creatively designed by the host. Super cool place! Nothing
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Spiro (9/5): Superb -
- Guenter (7/5): Experience the old times - A very unique location and unique style of accommodation. It is a bit like living in a museum dedicated to the old times. The property is very special, with a lot of character inside and outside. We had a very friendly reception by Maggie, the host. It is maybe a bit overpriced but there is value of the stay by the unique "museum" experience, the friendliness of the host, and the special location on top of the hill.
- Oxana (10/5): This place is truly unique—beautiful, peaceful, and designed with love - This place is truly unique—beautiful, peaceful, and designed with love. Margaret is one of the best hosts we’ve ever met, welcoming us so warmly that after just one night, we felt like family. The garden, filled with her stunning artworks, is a joy to explore, and the night sky offers a breathtaking view of the Milky Way. The room is spacious with an attached bathroom, and the well-equipped pantry has everything you need. The private, expansive deck is perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. An absolutely magnificent and tranquil retreat!
- Nicola (10/5): luxury, with breathtaking views, quirky charm, and Margaret’s incredible hospitality - 5* with heart - What an experience... This was hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed! From the moment I arrived, Margaret’s warm and genuine hospitality made me feel like part of her family—and with more than 5-star comforts too. The space is quirky, stylish, and beautifully designed, with a dreamy bathroom, additional outdoor shower and a private deck that stretches over the valley for breathtaking views. Every detail has been curated by Margaret for comfort and vibe, making it the perfect mix of luxury and soul. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. As an overnight Hume highway stopover, it is head and shoulders above the competition, but also as a weekend break for one or two... you won't regret it (thank you so much Margaret!)
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Stunningly beautiful. Incredible artwork in the garden. Super host. Gravel driveway means being carful on a road motorcycle.
- Sarah (10/5): Fabulous location offering a calm, relaxing and comfortable stay in the countryside yet within easy reach of urban facil - I usually try and book overnight stays with views and this is the very best yet . The location is simply stunning and so tranquil. Our plans to eat out changed immediately on arrival and we bought provisions to enjoy on our veranda . Lovely crisp linen , comfortable bed and the use of an outside shower if you wish . Marg gave a warm welcome and I admire her creativity and her interest in vintage memorabilia and restoration . I am so glad we avoided the bland soulless urban hotels that pop up as overnight stays while travelling along the Hume Highway . Such a ‘restorative’ stop off after a long drive .
- Edith (10/5): Exceptional - From the moment we drove the long driveway and spotted the property up on the hill, we were in awe with the room, the facilities, the surroundings with magnificent views, and our beautiful host. Everything was right and our room and bathroom full of character. Having breakfast and dinnet on the balcony, with the beautiful views, couldnt be more relaxing. We decided on the spot to stay an extra night. We'll sure be going back next time we travel up this way.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Excellent - Absolute stunning place! Exceeded all expectations. Host friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable and well equipped. Loved the collection of antiques to decorate and make it unique. The grounds were fantastic for exploring and spending time in nature That I had to leave and return to the real world!
- Marcelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hei-yee (10/5): A very special place - It was very individual. Although a bit out of town the views at sunset and the stars were magnificent. Arrive early and leave late to take advantage of the ambience. Don’t forget to explore the garden. Something special around every corner.
- Namita (10/5): Exceptional - We wanted someplace relaxing in nature with reliable facilities for a night’s stay en route home from our annual visit to Sydney. We were pleasantly surprised to find Margie’s very special retreat in the hills near Wodonga with its unique buildings, breathtaking views, Margie’s artistic touches and attention to detail. As special bonuses were the supremely comfortable king sized brass bed with views of the landscape, claw foot bath, and outdoor shower! And all of this ahead of Margie’s warm hospitality and generosity. Ten out of ten from us. Namita and Neil
- Orpin (10/5): Perfect peaceful escape just 10 minutes from town - Amazing views over beautiful art filled farmland. Great service and comfortable accommodation that is a true step back to a slower time.
- Jana (10/5): What a unique stay ! - That place is unique - you arrive and you can’t stop stunning and watching. Situated on a top of a hill the view around is amazing, animals are around and lots of green hills and valleys, but while walking around it’s a second discovery journey, because there are many place to rest and enjoy, swings which invite to relax, and, lots of self-made art projects where my phantasy isn’t able to find words. The room is made with love - so many details, bed more than comfortable and the balcony awesome. In the morning parrots come and you can watch them out of your bed, and, the owner also put corn for them in your room, so we felt free and fed them. Breakfast is also great, different bread, juice, …. For us that place was magical and we relaxed and calmed down totally. We recommend this B&B if you need a break of all the rush and hurry which is surrounding us. Margret created a place to stay and hopefully you take her invitation and can feel what we felt ! We missed the golden buzzer - because 10/10 are not enough !
- Peng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nril (10/5): Inspiring Views B&B lives up to and exceeds it's name. A magical home away from home! - Margaret was the most amazing host and person in general. We were made to feel extremely welcome at this wonderfully different B&B. The suite we stayed in was beautiful, the bed was luxurious and the room was well-equipped and stocked full of yummy treats for breakfast. The bathroom was such a wonderful surprise, with its turn-of-the-century railway wash basin and clawfoot tub, the experience of using it was a pleasure. The sculptures, outbuildings and setting of this magical home, make it a perfect place to get away from it all for a night, a weekend or week. We loved everything. We couldn't find anything not to like. This place is a little bit magical in every way. Thanks so much Margaret.
- Baz (10/5): Marvellous, one of the best places we have stayed at. - We loved everything. A totally unique and Australian experience and we can't wait to go back. The location was so peaceful, fantastic views, very interesting house and gardens with lots of bird life, well appointed and comfortable accommodation, breakfast provisions to suit many tastes and dietary requirements and a super host Margaret, nothing was too much trouble. We thank her very much. Nothing, perfection, 10 out of 10 for everything.
- Jisang (10/5): Perfect weekend Escape - We had a wonderful weekend getaway, just 20 minutes from Albury and 10 minutes from Wodonga. The place is beautiful, and we had no idea it was so close!
The views were amazing, with cows and horses grazing nearby. Simply sitting at the table, watching them and the birds and peaceful surroundings, was enough to relax.
The garden was lovely.
There were pretty antique items around.
The breakfast, prepared in our room European-style, was delicious. We enjoyed it on the terrace in the morning with a calm vibe.
The outdoor shower was refreshing - it was the hottest day...
We felt very welcomed, and it was special being the first guests since it reopened.
We’re going to visit again for another relaxing weekend. Ants and flying bugs, So make sure to keep food covered and doors closed.
