- Philip (8/5): Well worth a visit, but choose the right room - The isolation and surrounding is what make this place. The layout and dining room really tops it. We were not happy that the fridge was not swoon when we arrived and then never worked the rest of the stay. The door handle broke off from the inside and it was difficult to open.

Despite being the only overnight guests we were allocated to probably the furthest room from the restaurant, in the Manor House - due to reservation via booking.com instead of directly? Well aware that we were in the Manor House, having been taken there by the manager on duty, courtesy not shown by switching on outside lights for returning after the meal, although all outside lights were on at numerous unoccupied rooms. Obvious presence of manager 'installed' at a table on veranda since our arrival till we left after the meal - affording no privacy for pre dinner drinks and meal, Not subtle at all - surely there is somewhere else from where she can perform her duties ie at the office/inside the bar. Directions not accurate - it is 20 and definitely not 15km east of Britstown and at least 2km from the main road - consider sending a pin to guests on day of arrival.

- Marnus (10/5): - Everything exceeded expectations — the décor was stunning and wonderfully creative, while the room offered both luxury and comfort. This is far from an ordinary stay; it’s a truly unique experience. Keep in mind that this is a farm in the heart of the Karoo, so those who are uneasy around spiders and other creatures should be prepared. That said, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter, who is a full-blown arachnophobe.

Peaceful and the Karoo views were breathtaking - Our stay at Sweetfontein Boutique Farm was the perfect halfway stop on our way to the Westcoast, where we could unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Karoo! We had a lovely comfortable double room jointed by a bathroom to share between the two rooms. We are travelling with our dogs and we enjoyed the fenced area with green grass, where they could move around and also unwind after a long drive. We would have preferred a bigger bathroom, with at least a shower door/curtain seeing that we were a family of 4 sharing the same bathroom. It’s not completely self-catering, dinner has to be ordered from menu upfront and can be enjoyed at the restaurant, but we wanted to have a private braai for a special occasion. Staff went out of their way to make the occasion a special one.
- Koos (3/5): Will not consider it again. - Food was very good and service at dinner was good. We stay in one of the "Grand" units, Nou paving to units parking far away from units. Units not properly clean taps on wash basin spray over basin, shower head blocked. Nou Wi-Fi reception as advertised. No body take you on a tour of facilities. Road to dinner not clearly marked and lite up. Have to use your own cell light to find your away back to your unit. Price for unit totally out of line for what are offered.
- MADELEINE (10/5): Fantastic farm stay - Absolutely everything! From arriving with welcoming pancakes (due to rainy weather) to the room and the food. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves 5 star meals with exceptional service. I love everything about this facility.

Am meisten enttäuscht hat uns die Haltung der Hühner, die in sehr kleinen Käfigen untergebracht waren, obwohl auf dem riesigen Gelände problemlos mehr Platz zur Verfügung stünde!!! Das wirkt weder tierfreundlich noch angenehm für Gäste. Einige Gäste sahen sich bei der Bar Sport im Fernsehen an und die Lautstärke war so hoch eingestellt, dass wir den Ton noch am hintersten Tisch auf der Terrasse hören konnten! ..an einem Ort an dem man eigentlich Ruhe erwartet.. Das Essen war okay aber leider lauwarm serviert worden. Dafür mussten wir nur einen der beiden Hauptgänge bezahlen. Auch die Zugangssituation war für uns problematisch: Es gibt weder einen Code noch eine Klingel am Eingangstor, sodass wir jedes Mal anrufen mussten. Bei der schlechten Netzabdeckung ist das nicht zuverlässig und zudem kostenintensiv. Das grosse Areal wirkt leider weniger gepflegt, als man es erwarten würde. Die Pools sollten täglich gereinigt werden, und die defekten Aussenmöbel müssten dringend entsorgt werden. Insgesamt entspricht das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für uns nicht dem gebotenen Standard.

- lizette (10/5): - Would highly recommend this lodge! Travelled with family and 2 kids. The host and staff very welcoming & gave us good advice on location. We really enjoyed the game drive. The rooms were perfect, beds comfortable and clean.

The furnishings and decor is one of a kind and the food is to die for - by far the best Lamb Chops you could ever ask for. The staff is exceptional - SO friendly and helpful. I will highly recommend Sweetfontein for anyone who appreciates excellence. A big thank you to Faaizah - you're amazing!

It was so comfortable and quirky - very special place The evening meal was “ok” - we had such high expectations….. the butternut soup was excellent / but the rest of our meals were dry and needed some love and attention.
