The bedroom was quirky - had to ascend up into the converted attic to the bathroom, great little Pub Having to leave and go home - wish we had booked another couple of days longer

Perfect location for where we wanted to go. Room small for the price.
Apart from breakfast we found the evening food menu to lack variety.
Bathroom sink could not be filled due to faulty plughole which we reported to staff.
- Nicholas (6/5): Dissapointed - Friendly staff, good food, good location WiFi not available in rooms - rooms needed a little updating/ refresh of paint etc, cups missing in bathroom, very small room.
Not enough staff - one lady cleaning rooms, serving breakfast.
Our room was not ready for check in until 3.30pm.
- Bryony (5/5): Passable - Breakfasts good. Staff, especially Tom excellent . Rooms more shabby than shic and on the small side. No access to lounge when bar closed but only one chair in rooms. Breakfast had to be ordered by 9pm previous night. No signs of a manager or owner.
- Sarah (8/5): Excellent location food and clean and tidy staff friendly. Highly recommend - Lovely pub and excellent food. Great location to north cotswolds, bourton on water, daylesford, diddly squat farm etc. Highly recommend. Growth value for money with lots of parking. Stayed in the cottage which could do with a bit of sound proofing as we had a noisy neighbour banging around
- Ryan (8/5): Great location, staff, drinks, food and room. - Great location, staff, drinks, food and room. A personal comment, Breakfast is late at, 0830. We're usually out the door for 0730.

- Ivor (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (7/5): As expected :) - Staff were lovely and the hamper in the bedroom was a nice touch! Breakfast quality was really good as well. More plugs in the bedroom (constantly had to unplug the tv, coffee machine, kettle etc) to charge phone or dry hair. Also breakfast could have been improved with some radio or background music on.
- Ponton (10/5): Very warm and comfortable stay - Top host

- Rosie (8/5): Fabulous - Just a lovely stop. Would definitely recommend 🤓
- Robert (10/5): A Cotswold gem with great staff and fine dining. - The absolute highlight was the location, a beautiful Cotswold village outside a major town. It’ a fantastic pub, tons of atmosphere, excellent wines and beers. Staff were attentive, interactive, lots of fun. Parking was a treat, plenty of room without hassles. Food quality was high and plentiful ! Had to cope with single beds, not a major hassle, but we are used to Queen-sized + with all that room to move
- Jim (8/5): 1 night stay - Character twin room with ensuite had everything you need and a nice welcome pack ,free on site parking in a nice quite pleasantly situated property.
- David (9/5): Thoroughly relaxing. - The staff were excellent, Could not have been more helpful. The room was on the small size but very clean and comfortable.
- Caroline (8/5): Overall a lovely stay, the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive! - Breakfast was excellent!
The meal in the evening was delicious. Shower in room had a light flow of water and I wasn't able to wash comfortably because the shower hose was plastic and not flexing adequately! Iwas not able to wash my hair!
- Konstantinos (5/5): Passable - Remote and quiet. Ample parking. Very small room! Very squeaky floor, covered by a cheap wall-to-wall carpet. Had to wait a couple of hours for the room to get warm. Bathroom small but relatively clean.
- Terence (8/5): - Shower not working properly and leaked. Front of house very friendly nothing too much trouble. Good local knowledge. Good food.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The location, the rooms, the owners
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Ambiance and rustic 'shabby/chic', comfort.
Coffee was especially good, enjoyed breakfast and dinner was superb
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - All
- Anthony (7/5): Good - The staff. The peace. The bar and dining area. Tiny room, awful en -suite.
- Megan (10/5): Perfect for our mother-daughter trip - My mum and I were on a girls trip to the Cotswolds and this was the perfect base for our long weekend. It's really close to lots of cute villages and national trust properties, the inn was super cosy and food was delicious (we had breakfast and dinner there), and the staff were lovely. The accommodation was cosy and clean. We would definitely come back again!
- Julie (9/5): Great experience - Nice room and the food in the pub was excellent. Way above normal pub food. Very friendly hosts
- Dale (8/5): It is a lovely place in a lovely location. - A beautiful hotel and public house. Just what we needed following a long flight. This hotel provided the much needed resting point on our journey home from Gatwick Airport to the North. However, the room was dusty, and the cafetiere given for breakfast was also covered in dust. A little more attention to detail would have made this the perfect place to stay. The restaurant was very welcoming, with good food, attractive, and had a log burner, that made the place feel very cosy.
- Paul (9/5): Excellent will return soon - The location , and the buildings authentic looks and charm excellent service from the staff. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10
- Orion (8/5): Friendly, warm, comfortable, good food - excellent base for a Cotswolds short stay - Staff very welcoming and helpful. Food (dinner and breakfast) excellent. Enjoyed local walks. Plenty of parking. Would be happy to stay again, and very likely to come back for a meal as we don't live very far away. Gluten free requirements catered for knowledgeably - thank you. Bathroom a bit tight for space, but excellent shower and nice toiletries, and very clean. Can hear some noise from bar early evening, but it didn't disturb us at that time of day and was very quiet by late evening when we got back to room after dinner.
- Juxon (7/5): Good - Welcome pack in the room. Wouldn't let us check i early. Room was dusty behind the bed. Bathroom was dated.
- Matt (9/5): Lovely place - Very cosy, the food was outstanding, the snug perfect for a drink. Bathroom could do with sorting the mould, it was painted but needs addressing
- Dean (10/5): Really enjoyed staying in a beautiful building , really friendly staff and the food was excellent ! Very happy man :) - Beautiful property , full of character , really well furnished and very homely N/A
- Bobby (10/5): Had a great stay, Great staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly . Will definitely return - Beautiful property , great bar and restaurant, rooms comfortable and cosy
- Susann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Very relaxing. - Extremely welcoming staff. Food was lovely. Our dog loved the stream and treats left for her. Nothing
- Wayne (5/5): Cramped room and unfriendly staff. - The breakfast was OK but the staff and process left you feeling like an inconvenience more so than a customer or guest. The room was so cramped. It was clear they had just taken a standard bedroom and chopped a section off and wedged a bathroom in there. Very small cramped shower that felt claustrophobic and made for an unpleasant experience. Very little room to walk around the bed whilst attempting to get changed.
- Fiona (10/5): Stay, staff, food and hospitality second to none. Wonderful place !!! - The staff were exemplary. Catered to your every need. Especially the two ladies during breakfasts and the young gentleman behind the bar. During one dinner, I requested no sesame seeds and the waiter came back and advised me that the chicken seasoning had used sesame oil. Fantastic attention to detail.
If you’re eating dinner they will give you the choice of table for breakfast, which is another lovely touch and makes you feel very looked after. It happened to us both nights. I had just asked if the fire would be on and they said they don’t put it on in the morning. Well, guess what, came down to breakfast and the waitress had put the fire on for us, because of me enquiring about it at dinner.
The food, well fabulous, is all I can say. I had steak both nights, tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. They happily alter breakfast for you, I have to recommend the advocado, smoked salmon on sourdough bread. Seriously the sourdough was amazing !!!
The guest snug has everything you need and a great play to chill, read and play games. The chairs by the fire were a firm favourite of mine tbh.
I’m kind of glad I didn’t get to meet ‘Charlie’ but that won’t stop us from returning very soon. Can’t find anything I didn’t like. But if I had to find anything, it would be to ensure that the bedroom and bathroom are warmed up well in advance of guests arriving. Granted it was such a cold evening when we arrived but found it difficult to warm up.
- Lynne (10/5): Amazing little find and the staff where amazing - The property was stunning and so homely Nothing
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (10/5): Such friendly staff. My mother & I had a wonderful stay here. Highly recommend! - The food was outstanding!! Pie night was a highlight. :-) Great service and quality meals.
- Kirsten (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend for evening meals. - Evening meals and drinks were brilliant. Lovely bar and restaurant with wood burner. Really nice relaxed atmosphere. For me the mattress was a little too soft. Also I would have liked bakery style bread/toast with the cooked breakfast
- Donna (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): Amazing in all ways, would definitely recommend - Amazing place to stay, friendly staff, clean room. Amazing breakfast 5 star 🌟
- Sarah (10/5): Absolutely magical. - What a wonderful stay we had here. The staff were exceptional, the food was incredible and the space was absolutely gorgeous. The location is really Upper Oddington vs. Stow on the Wold so it’s a short drive in to town. Well suited to those who would like a quieter stay in the Cotswolds though.
- Ria (10/5): Incredible - Beautiful room, lovely welcome pack with goodies which was a nice touch.
Restaurant food was incredible and breakfast was lovely too. Staff were amazing too and so accommodating. Really great stay and we hope to come again!!
- Susan (8/5): Good hospitality - The staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived with rather large suitcases (since we were travelling for more than 10 days) and one of our rooms was on the first floor. The male staff doing our check-in also gave us a hand in carrying both suitcases up to our room.
We also highly appreciate the great hospitability extended by the female staff serving our breakfast. She was very thoughtful and offered us various things, making sure we were well looked after. She also struck interesting conversations with us, telling us more about the B&B and how they were preparing for Christmas.
Another plus is the Nespresso machine in our rooms. Most of the B&B we visited offered instant coffee in the room. One part of our room was rather dark - where the tea and coffee machine were. Could have added an extra lamp.
- Richard (8/5): Very nice location, freindly staff and lovely accommodation and food. Just let down by the bed - I liked everything except the bed which was more like sleeping on a table top it was so hard The bed
- Osborne (10/5): Perfect stay - Lovely 😍 fantastic stay
- Janice (10/5): It was a superb experience - Everything Nothing
- Roslyn (7/5): Enjoyed our stay , just needs some TLC - Lovely staff, good food, quiet Really needed a good deep clean,
Some TLC to bring the property were it should be, paint and bathrooms need attention
- David (8/5): Quaint village pub/hotel/restaurant in quiet location. - Quaint property ideally suited for Stow on the Wold, room was comfortable, staff were generally friendly & helpful. We were in the ground floor cottage across the car park which provided privacy. The electric shower, while new, suffered low pressure & intermittently ran hot & cold which meant jumping in & out of the shower compartment. There were three plug-in air fresheners in the room, one in the wardrobe which suggested there may be damp/condensation issues.
- David (7/5): A pleasant stay at a charming, old Cotswold pub well located for the main Cotswold villages. - The room was small, but had attractive exposed beams and was cosy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good, albeit the enclosure was small. There was a good selection of hot drinks (tea, coffee and chocolate) with a kettle and a capsule coffee machine. The bar was attractive with exposed beams and a real fire. Three real ales were available, as well as a good selection of lagers and the usual range of shorts. Meals were served in the bar area and the quality of the food was very good, albeit perhaps slightly expensive for the evening meal (for instance rib-eye steak was £32). The service in the bar/dining room and the cleaning of the rooms were excellent. The exterior of the pub was in honey-coloured Cotswold stone, as indeed was the whole of the small village. The village was well located about 3 miles outside Stow on the Wold. Our room, along with several others, was located over the bar area, and the noise from the bar could be a little intrusive when the bar area was busy. The wall-mounted television in the room was rather small, but as the room was small too, you were not far away from it. If I was being picky, I would say that the room and the food were a little over-priced, but perhaps that was you should expect if staying at a gastro pub in the Cotswolds.
- Hazel (7/5): Good - Breakfast was good Location was a little quiet.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Was cozy clean and beautiful scenery
- Rhodri (9/5): Brilliant Inn very near Stow on the wold - Great, old fashioned Inn. Room was great, comfortable and clean. Great breakfast. The pub is beautiful within. Just a little outside stow on the wold, too long to walk in.
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Adrian (3/5): Poor - Had we known there was no cooked breakfast we would not have booked
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic value. Friendly pub with great food - Perfect location after a visit to dalesford. Extremely friendly staff. Booked and ate dinner there. 10/10. Comfy room Twin beds super warm and cosy. Breakfast was so organized. All laid out ready. Food arrived hot. One lady serving who couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Deffo coming back in warmer weather !!
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Harue (10/5): All staffs make an effort for visitors that’s very respectful. - The atmosphere The Blue lump beside bed
- Mark (10/5): Food was excellent, staff and owner very welcoming. - Quiet little village just outside Stow.
Possible to walk to stow in about 40 minutes across fields and on quiet lanes
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
