The Mews Lounge rooms are at the very rear of the hotel off the courtyard. These rooms were purpose built in 2012 with a modern and contemporary feel. - JFH1695 (8/5): Great location, cleaning needs to be improved - Great location right in the centre of town. You are within a 5-10 minute walk of the local bars, pubs, restaurants and train station. There is also a bus stop across the road if you don't want to drive to all the other villages during your stay. Room was really big for two adults, and a great sized bathroom as well. The wardrobe could of had some extra hangers but in fairness we didn't ask for these. Breakfast is fresh and fast, plenty of options and staff are attentive. Private car park in the grounds right next to the majority of the rooms as well. A nice homemade cookie was also provided in your room upon arrival. Room is very modern, has a nice cosy cottage feel to it. Room was freezing, the bedroom window wasn't fitted in the frame properly so there was a constant draft and it would bang with any gust of wind. The two electric radiators provided gave very little heat. We had to use the two cushions in the room as a draft excluder at one point. When we opened the window to get some air in during the day there was a large build up of mould on the inside of the window frame (See picture). The cleaning staff aren't that attentive to what needs doing in the room. There was a large collection of spider webs by the main window which hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, there were more on the walls and ceilings. We asked the front desk for these to be cleaned but they never were (See pictures) They also didn't remove some dirty cutlery and glasses we had used in the room as well. When we went to use the coffee station in the room on arrival there was a large pool of water in the draws where the sugar and tea bags were kept. Everything was ruined, the front desk did replace them but again something else missed by the cleaning staff. We had to clean and dry this draw out ourselves nobody offered to help with this after raising the issue. The room was turned down on our final day but the bed wasn't made at all, duve just thrown over it with some poorly placed towels left on top. Heat from the shower was hit and miss, unless you had the water on the highest heat setting possible it was luke warm at best. At breakfast on our second day my wife was told she couldn't have a latte as they don't serve them at breakfast even though it was the menu, but at breakfast the next day they were serving them to a different couple. The room does need some TLC, walls in the bathroom had some stains, and there was also some damage to the wall near the bathroom mirror (See pictures). Staff weren't the friendliest when we left. Handed over our key, was told that was it. Not even a goodbye, thanks for staying etc.
- John (8/5): Great staff, nice hotel and good base. - Staff friendly and helpful. Evening Meal was good and small child and gluten free adult accomodated well. Good base for what we wanted to do. Nice large rooms, clean. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits welcome in room and a nice touch. The hotel was due to close next day for refurbishment so not all food options available and you could tell stocks on other things low. Also bits n pieces being moved about, however this didn't affect our stay. Our rooms (2) were adequate and clean and had been modernised previously, however some tlc needed and snags do need to be looked at.

- Lynne (5/5): Stayed at the reesdale a couple of times. This time not so good . - I had to remake the bed as duvet cover not put on properly and bed lumpy. Cushions on chairs left as people had sat on them. Skylight broken nail hanging out. Was not told on check-in that the key fob worked the lights got ready in bathroom. I took the top off shampoo bottle to get extra out and it was watered down. Bad nights sleep with zip on mattress NO mattress protector or topper on bed. Bathroom was spotless with lovely deluxe towels.

- Jonathan (7/5): - The hotel has bags of character as you would expect from an old building including sloping bedroom floors (interesting when drunk). The room was fairly spacious and clean, nice newish fitted shower room. Staff were friendly. Parking is fairly ample considering the age of the place. Restaurant provides nice food. The water was barely warm so it meant a bit of a nippy shower in the morning. Breakfast is not included which is stated but I haven't stayed at many places personally where this is not included which is a bit of a downer. Coffee pod machine didn't work properly, I'm sure that's not the case in every room and as we were leaving that morning when we realised we didn't feel the need to ask to change it which they probably would have had we asked.

- Excursion815243 (10/5): Great historical stay - The Redesdale Arms gave us a chance to stay in history. The building itself is so interesting, and the updates have been appropriately done. The staff is amazing. Kind and very helpful to those who are new to the Cotswolds and Moreton-in-Marsh. Would absolutely stay here again.

- Janet (10/5): Lovely hotel - There was nothing not to like. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were in a huge room which was in an annexe next to the carpark. We also had a separate lounge area to chill in which was a nice surprise. The walls were very thin so we could hear our neighbours conversations, which didn't bother us but may upset some people. There were tea/coffee making facilities with a small bottle of fresh milk which is quite unusual and 2 cookies which were really appreciated. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food as we were meeting friends but the food smelt amazing. The location was in the town and it had it's own carpark which was a bonus. Also there were some electric chargers which were useful. Although it didn't bother us, the walls in the sitting area were very thin.

- Jet502708 (6/5): Not what it was - We have been going to this hotel since 2014 for the Cheltenham festival and have made some good friends during this time sadly due to a huge hike in room rates they have stayed away,as we had tickets booked we continued with the booking even though the 2 rooms cost £600 more, On arrival we had the same type of room which are nice but we noticed over the stay that the housekeeping was not up to the usual standard from not changing towels to the bin in the room not emptied during our stay,the staff were still really helpful and pleasant and the food was good but the overwhelming memory of this trip was it did not warrant a £600 price hike and our 12 years of booking to go to Moreton is now over.

The double bed was a bit small but everything was very clean. The only issue was with breakfast. There was only one person on duty in a busy breakfast room. So service was slow and the juice jugs, including milk for cereal, were all empty and not replenished at all during the near one hour that we were present. No milk was provided with the hot drinks either.

The pub itself was dirty and very rundown. Our room was large and the bed comfortable however the bathroom was extremely tired, the shower was full of mould and it was dirty.

I’m not a huge fan of staying in pubs, but that aside, the first room I was given was very hot, smelled awful, and you couldn’t open the window. I was given a second room that was much better. But the place needs a makeover - there was paint peeling off the walls and ceiling in the corridor….

Cookies on arrival were a lovely touch and breakfast was tasty. Loved this history of the building. The communal areas and blinds in the room were tired. Could do with some updating. Needed a nicer, clean kettle in room. Breakfast was a bit understaffed which affected service but the staff were friendly and working hard.

Also, there was easy parking a few yards from our room, which was great as it was pouring with rain. Nothing that spring to mind.

If you are staying in the courtyard rooms, just be aware that to access some, you have to use a spiral staircase. The stairs are quite steep, and if it rains, the handrail becomes very slippery, so you need to be careful not to fall/miss your footing.

- Judy (6/5): - Location The breakfast was great. Being an older proper, the floor when we to the bathroom in the night. The pub noise wafted up to our room. Would choose another property next time.
- n9500 (4/5): Disappointing - We booked for 7pm on Saturday 21st Feb. Chose starters, they had run out of the one I ordered. Main course, both available. Desserts, they had run out of the one I chose. So out of 3 courses, I ended up with one. Very disappointing as this place had been highly recommended by a friend.. They took off the cost of one Prosecco (£7.95) to make up for 2 courses being unavailable (£17.90). I understand the gesture but it actually didn’t make up for not having the dishes available. I have been in hospitality for over 25 years and going somewhere that can’t manage to get all the dishes on the menu, to the pass is unacceptable. I would suggest that if the chefs can’t keep on top of their menu and ensure all choices are available, they need to reduce what they offer. Especially given that we had booked so early, on a Saturday night.

- Deepika (10/5): An exceptional stay with fantastic staff, delicious food, and the perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. - We loved everything about this property. My husband and I stayed for one night and honestly kept wondering why it isn’t a 4-star hotel. From the staff to the on-site restaurant and bar, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and having convenient parking for residents was a great bonus. Breakfast was included in the price of our stay and it was fantastic — there was such a wide variety to choose from. If we return to Moreton-in-Marsh, we won’t even look elsewhere — this is 100% where we’ll stay again. The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station and the Co-op, which made everything very convenient. The 801 bus, which takes passengers to Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold (around 15–20 minutes to these beautiful villages), stops just outside the railway station — perfect for exploring the area without needing a car. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Richard, Paul, Josh and Harry, who really made our stay memorable. There isn’t anything we didn’t like about this property.

- rogergrime (8/5): Overnight stay in Moreton to meet friends for a meal. - We had a very nice overnight stay here. The staff at check-in were efficient and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, if a little small. Parking on site was available. We only had breakfast here, but that was very good, as was the service in the bar the previous night.
- Linda (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again - Loved the room - nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was immaculate. Had a good breakfast and the service was very good The radiators weren't working, though the little heater worked well but no heat in the bathroom. Otherwise we were very happy. The shower was lovely and big and worked well. We had a nice meal in the evening and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough for their care and support during what was a very distressing time. They went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful.

- Donna (8/5): Excellent location, fantastic food at the hotel. 10/10 - Very friendly and welcoming. Great location. There were pants and socks in the bedside draw next to the bed from another guest. But otherwise it was clean.
- Lisa (9/5): All in all it was lovely. The staff are so lovely and the breakfast was great. - This was the third visit to the hotel. Every time has been lovely. I feel the hotel decor is getting a little tired, and because of this I feel it’s a little over priced. If the decor didn’t look tired and the lounge area/mirrors and the decor in the room wasn’t so old looking, it would have been very good value for money.

- shannon (8/5): Excellent weekend trip exploring the Cotswolds - Loved the interior, kept the traditional dark wooden vibe with an open fire in sitting area. Didn’t have breakfast there so could not comment on that. Loved the room, was very spacious and comfortable. Staff were excellent, very chatty and willing to help with anything you need including providing recommendations where to visit! Nothing at all
