Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Beautiful view.
- bonnie (10/5): - Never saw anyone but the whole place was nice and clean everything was convenient if I had to change anything, I’d like to have a microwave in the room
- Amy (8/5): - No pool, never seen the staff. But room was clean
- Sheri (10/5): - Everyone was so nice
- Madalyn (10/5): - Lodge was excellent to stay at. Whole facility was quiet , clean , and well maintained. Outside pool was clean and taken very well care of. Restaurant within the golf course (swing) was awesome and only a walking distance from the lodge rooms but was far enough away from lodge that the bar restaurant wasnt even noticed from the quiet lodge complex. Completely enjoyed our stay and will be booking the lodge in the future.
- michael (10/5): - Great stay..no one rushes you. basically runs itself with no interference.
- Erica (10/5): - It’s lovely.
- Tracie (10/5): - The place was really nice. Very clean. Check in and check out were "contactless". I am unable to rate staff because we never met or needed any. I would stay here again.
- Janice (10/5): - It was very clean. The beds were so comfortable great down pillows. You definitely say again.
- Olukayode (10/5): - Small but very beautiful and super neat
- George (4/5): - No microwave milk was sour didn’t realize there was no restaurant in dining room, you had to go up road for food. Other then pool not impressed.
- NANCY (10/5): - This property is awesome!!! We have been coming for 10 years now!!! Never once has it disappointed us!!! We golf and course is on property. Restaurant is delicious and very competitively priced. Beautiful scenery and gorgeous farms. The lodge is spotless extremely well maintained for a small property. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
- Jo (10/5): - It was off the beaten path and rather quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, solid choice for the area - Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend to attend a nearby family reunion. This is a motel (think Schitt’s Creek) but it is clean and people are super nice. Rooms and furnishings are a bit dated but it is very functional and in a beautiful area. Cleanliness is most important to us when we stay somewhere and this place was super clean! Nice little breakfast offerings, water available all the time, and a vending machine with basics. Does not really have anyone at a front desk, but once you check in, you get the phone number to call if you need anything. We will be back as we have family nearby and this gives us our own place to stay. Just watch out for the flying golf balls!!!
- Randy (10/5): - Our only issue (and it’s not a deal-breaker) is the flies in the room. We’d kill one and two more showed up. Maybe equip the rooms with fly swatters.
- Nicole (10/5): - We had nice stay everything was clean, we didn’t see any employees so couldn’t rate that
- Christy (10/5): - Amazing service comfy beds, clean, neat and beautiful scenery an amazing hidden gem !
- Debra (10/5): - The beds and pillows were very comfortable! The bedding was soft and comfy. The mountain views and lamb sounds while walking to the continental breakfast made it very serene.
- cheryl (10/5): Nice place - Very clean and comfortable room
- paul (10/5): - Quiet and clean. Nobody there to greet you
- Martin (10/5): - Very nice place to visit
- Clifton (8/5): - The room was as pictured - small but high ceiling gave a feeling of more spaciousness. Cramped bathroom and no toiletries provided. Still - we would stay here again.
- Samantha (10/5): - Remarks as negativity: No Netflix capabilities on the tv, washer and dryer coin only, needs to have updated payment options for washer and dryer.
- Debbie (10/5): - We play golf at the adjacent course and the lodge is the best lodging. Very clean, comfortable beds, and hospitable staff.
- Heather (8/5): A motel but a nice one - room was extremely clean, and well maintained. Bed wasn’t the most comfy but we dealt with it. We enjoyed the continental breakfast- bagels, grab and go waffles, fruit, cereal, etc. area for the breakfast was very nice and cleaned. The restaurant for the golf course was delicious with excellent service. In general a nice motel. We would stay again if in the area. We didn’t use the pool while we were there but I looked nice and clean and their is a nice outdoor area with lounge chairs and picnic tables
- Karl (10/5): - Overall, we had a lovely, restful stay. Yhe room was clean with a good sized fridge and a TV with ample channels. We woke up to a beautiful pastoral view, hada quick swim and enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast in their country Inn. I would only recommend a coffee pot in the room, and perhpas adding boiled eggs to the continental breakfast. We very much had a great stay.
- Gary (10/5): - Will go back
- Joseph (10/5): - Had a great stay. Staff was amazing and very attentive. Breakfast was nice and the pool was maintained very well. Definitely plan on coming back
- Carolyn (10/5): - Clean, efficient, comfortable, and a beautiful setting
- Lauren (10/5): - The Lodge at Lykens Valley is a nice, clean, updated motel. The pool was lovely. The contactless check-in couldn't have been easier. In fact, I didn't need or have any face to face interactions with Lodge Staff. It provides convenient lodging in a rural area, which was perfect for our needs. The breakfast is adequate but a few more options (yogurt, frozen breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs) would be appreciated. Also, please double check dairy in the fridge after the weekend. We will stay again when traveling that way.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The area was clean and wonderful. The check in was completed without the help of staff. That was weird bur easy.
- Lauren (10/5): - Our family of 4 had a great time at the Lodge! The boys loved swimming in the pool which was the perfect size and very clean. It overlooks the golf course and you can see the mountains. Beautiful all around! And they my supply pool towels !
The room fit all of our needs. We enjoyed having a refrigerator to store some items we brought along. The room was so clean! There is a restaurant just a short walk away which was reasonably priced.
The staff was very nice and helpful and there were many breakfast options for the morning which was included. They even have jugs of water which we used to refill our water bottles.
We sat outside at the picnic tables to play some card games in the evening. It is very quiet there which we loved. We already plan to come back with friends!
- Diana (10/5): - Very nice
- Gibran (10/5): - Great place for gateaway
Is our second time staying here and looking forward to stay here in the future
- Myriam (4/5): - Check in is difficult. We were lucky we saw a man walking to his room and he told us where to go. No instructions from the hotel! We called and the lady read from the paper but didn’t know more because “she has never been there and just reading instructions “
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean & Comfy - We enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Thank you!
- russell (10/5): - Great locale, very rural, selections are limited but golf course restaurant is great!!
- Gene (10/5): - Very convenient you are the only hotel in the area you care the about people that come in Millersburg.
- Gina (10/5): - Staff is excellent -- always willing to accommodate. Scenery is beautiful, restaurant & golf course very convenient.
- Edward (10/5): - I was really surprised with staying here. I would definitely stay here again.
- JOHN R (6/5): - The hotel was clean. Needs some updating. Light continental breakfast was terrible. We stay here several times a year and the offerings at breakfast have declined. Everything is prepackaged.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view from the registration/breakfast room was breathtakingly beautiful. The foliage was in full bloom. Very relaxing.
Only thing was noisy heater but would stay again.
- Sheila (8/5): - Your staff is so helpful, friendly and hard working which helped make our stay super - we’ve recommended your lodge and restaurant highly to friends
- Alfred (10/5): - Ok
- Coleen (10/5): - It is in a beautiful setting. Very quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are cute with a real fridge and freezer (small but real). The breakfast choices were limited. It is a great deal for the price.
- James (10/5): - This place has an awesome view, and it is very close to a picturesque little river town, Millersburg
- Donna (8/5): - It was close to our venue! Quiet!
Would Have been nice to have more breakfast options.
Restaurant needed reservations., which we did not know.
- Heidi (10/5): - Our room was very clean, thank you!
- Mary (10/5): - Extremely clean, great hospitality and enjoyably quiet.
- BILL (10/5): - Property was quiet and very clean. We arrived late, but everything was in place for us.
- Tammy (8/5): - Stopped here for one night on our way to NY. The place is cute and the rooms were clean, but I never saw any staff. We arrived at 8:30 pm.
1. Google had the location incorrect, so that was frustrating after a long day of driving. (Where it says it is... pass it and go to the next road on the right to the entrance. It didn't give me a new pin to update it 🙄)
2. There was no information given on how to check in, other than that they have a "self-check in process." There was no clear entrance. Just tennis courts and 2 buildings. Thankfully, there were guests outside that advised me that they were closed 😳 and to go into the "door at the end of the building to get our envelope. "
3. There was zero staff there when we arrived - which would have been great to know before we arrived! Got our key and headed to our assigned room.
4. The room was clean and had what we needed for 1 night. The area rug in our room had curled up on the end, so we tripped over it quite often! The towels were thin and small. I wanted to notify someone about the rug when we checked-out, but again, nobody was at registration at 9:30 am when we left. If you've ever traveled to this area of PA... there isn't a lot of good options for places to stay if you don't want a Super 8, Motel 6, etc... so this was a the best option. Just wish I had more information going in and could tell someone about my rug issue. There is a suggestion box at registration - but no paper or card to leave it on and no pen to do so.
- DonnaLee (10/5): - This property is beautiful. Heather is a gem! This will be my new stay whild in PA..
- Omraj (8/5): - Overall its a nice and place which is located in an isolated area.
Our checkin was little difficult. Its a self checkin process. We reached there around 10:30 PM and we couldn't find the reception in that dark. Luckily there was guest came outside at that time and he quided us to the reception which is located at the backside of the building.
Apart from this room and bathroom was clean, sufficient breakfast, daily clean staff did a good job and no disturbance.
- karen (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Eric (10/5): - What a treat! I've seen this place online for years and finally visited. Clean, pretty, quiet. Perfect. Seriously.
- Cheryl (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and excellent
- James (10/5): - Clean. Quiet. Safe. Convenient. It was everything it was suppose to be. Lovely views.
- Gene (10/5): - Clean
- Craig (10/5): - Front desk person was very kind and helpful during our stay.
- Mary (10/5): - Highly recommended. Beautiful, super clean and great views
- Brian (10/5): - Great for the price!
- Donald (10/5): - Beautiful area
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great out of the way location, fantastic view, and food nearby.
- ELIZABETH (10/5): - Beautiful golf course scenery but continental breakfast could have some more healthy options
- Steve (10/5): - Sitting atop a golf course with awesome view of mountains. Clean and spacious. Tavern at golf course within walking distance had great food, music and casual atmosphere.
- Rachel (10/5): - Heather was extremely helpful and flexible. The rooms were clean and the view was beautiful.
- Christine (8/5): - Lovely small motel, spotless and well cared for. Easy check in and out - never actually saw a person. Only comment for improvement is I had the hot water for the shower was only just warm when turned all the way on.
- Renee (10/5): Great value for quick getaway - Very clean room, easy check-in and check-out, easy access parking lot, continental breakfast included.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very cute, and stunningly clean. The flowers in the vase on the table were a very nice touch. Customer service was excellent—the ladies who run this hotel are incredibly nice and friendly. The breakfast available in the lobby in the morning was impressive.
- Melissa (8/5): Clean and Comfortable - The Lodge at Lykens was everything I expected it to be for a “lodge” theme. The views of the golf course are gorgeous. The check-in and other amenities are very self-service, but there were no issues with that. You won’t receive any major bells and whistles, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast is a welcome addition, especially with this area being more remote. I was here for a friend’s wedding and it was very nice to be just 5 minutes away.
- Ken (10/5): - This was an amazing cute, and quaint, property that I stayed at for a funeral recently. The staff were nice and easy to work with. If you’re looking for a place to stay with limited amenities but a whole lot of character… check this place out!!
- Kathleen (10/5): One night stay - It was very nice and quiet. Very easy to check in and out of. There was a variety of cereal, bagels and muffins to pick for breakfast.
- Connie (10/5): - We liked the privacy of the lodge, the vaulted ceilings in the room, dinner was a 5 min walk, & continental breakfast was a must for me!
- Joseph (10/5): - Mold in bathroom, toilet VERY low, very difficult for us old folks to get up from.
- Vincent (8/5): - The property (rooms) - were clean and we felt comfortable. We would suggest some "upgrading - modernizing" -- also a little maintenance with peeling wallpaper.
- Joseph (10/5): - Staff was excellent, everything was clean inside and out! Will recommend and will definitely be returning in the future
- Andrea (8/5): Not bad for the middle of nowhere. - The Lodge is a unique place on the golf course at Lykens Valley. There is no one at the check in desk but each guest has a sealed envelope with their receipt in it, the key to the room and coupons for dining and greens fees at Swing Restaurant and Lykens Valley Golf course. The room was spacious and clean but could use some updating, especially the TVs! The lamps had USB outlets in them that didn't work either. Breakfast was very basic and it sure would have been nice to have some kind of protein with it instead of tons of carbs.
- Diana (10/5): - It was perfect. It had a great restaurant too!
- Matthew (10/5): Very pleasant - Very nice stay as we were in town to visit friends. Very convenient, and the pool was perfect for our family to relax on a nice day.
- Susan (10/5): NIce for a short stay. MUST eat at SWING! - The Lodge is very clean and nice for a short stay. The SWING Restaurant on property is fantastic.
Only complaint is that there are no accommodations for handicapped or elderly. The bathroom has no bars or rails, nor any non-slip mats in the tub. My mother (age 84) needed help in/out of the shower which was very embarrassing for her. I have complained about this direct to the Lodge but never received any answer other than, "Thanks for telling us." There are no other places to stay in the area
- daniel (10/5): Nice hotel/motel, would stay there again - Got there late at night and the keys were left in an envelope on the counter (awesome!). Rooms were clean and spacious. Stayed one night on the way to Hershey and would do it again
- Dennis (10/5): - This property is very quiet. It is extremely clean!!!!!
- Paul (8/5): - Only game in town so it’s as good as it gets
- Denise (10/5): - Very clean room with beautiful location. Laundry room, free light breakfast and friendly staff Comfortable mattress. Great resturant close by
- Mariah (8/5): - I loved how spacious the room was and the easy check in and check out.
- Amanda (8/5): - It was very nice. Only downside was the pool said open June but it wasn’t open.
- michael (10/5): - It nice and clean and quiet .
- Rhonda (10/5): - The entire stay was excellent!! Check in was easy. Room was clean. Loved the high ceilings in the room. The view is spectacular. The night we stayed, we ate at the restaurant affiliated with the lodge, The Swing restaurant and bar. I would recommend it.
- Nancy (10/5): - Easy
- Jo Ann (10/5): - The best and only place to stay when we go back to our home town
- Jacob (10/5): - Heather is amazing. She cleans, manages the desk and helped me with my reservation.
- Frances (10/5): Enjoyed my yearly stays at The Lodge - The Lodge is a welcome place in The Valley.
My needs are always met & the staff is friendly & accommodating.
- Ron (6/5): - I never saw anyone from the facility, was going to pay cash and didn’t get the opportunity. The free breakfast was less than desirable. Was very clean, economical and unique and will prolly stay there again.
- Kathleen (10/5): Lovely weekend - Nice room very clean. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room.
