• lindy (3/5): - The view. The messages on booking out, how you have to dispose of your own garbage, make sure the washing up is done and dishes put away, was not told this on booking. Paying alot of money!! The water storage device was discusting and the water smelt old. You have to boil water, but only given a tiny jug to put I fridge! The threat of extra cost if you use to much water. The unit has a mosquito problem as bug were coming in from somewhere. The gardens were not inviting full of weeds. Won't be staying there again, over $300 complete rip off.

• Stuart (5/5): - Great view Septic tank smelt awful, right outside front door! Bed/mattress requires replacing. Tiny fridge. Could hear EVERYTHING as the "house" was split into two with No sound deadening!

• Sesenieli (10/5): Great Stay. Would recommend to anyone. - Location was great, it overlooked the sea and there was a path down to the beach which we used. The beach was beautiful. House itself was clean and organised. Check in process was easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to visit the area. The house as well could cater to anyone that had a walker or a wheelchair.

• Pam (5/5): Passable - The view is lovely but check in process could be a lot better. On day of arrival we had no communication advising check in code. As running out of battery I phoned them at 2.30pm for 3pm check in to be told that access code would be sent about 10 mins before check in. When we did get in there was no wifi connection. Again phoned the help line staff who suggested restarting the modem but we had already searched for this unsuccessfully. They did not know where it was but thought it' might be in the other unit'. As the walls are not sound proof we could hear the cleaner next door, as well as the eventual guests... Cleaner was very helpful and after about 30 mins we located it and restarted successfully. Starter pack very meagre for a 2 night stay at over NZD400 per night. 2 tiny pre- measured bags of filter coffee enough for one decent cup. An extra bath mat would be useful as shower has no door and the floor gets quite wet and no heated towel rail. The rooms are large and facilities as described but as there is not huge choice in this area I guess this justifies the price
• Cpa (7/5): Modern apartment with awesome water views - Location is just a short drive to restaurants and other amenities Awesome water views and sunsets Airy feel in the well decorated modern apartment Well equipped kitchen, dining and living areas Large bathroom; good toiletries Availability of the instruction to get into the property was provided at the very last minute unlike one other place we went to where entry instructions were provided a couple of days beforehand. A second set of towels would have been much appreciated as we stayed for 2 nights. Absence of a washing machine - A place marketed as a self-contained apartment should have one like the other places we stayed in. Having to throw away the rubbish - first time we had to do this in a rented accommodation.

The code for the lock box only came through 45 mins prior to check in and we were out of mobile range. Did not get the code until we were able to access mobile when we arrived.

• Jan (8/5): Well located, spacious apartment close to National Park - Views of water wonderful, spacious apartment, well located to get to National Park & surrounds, exceptionally clean, easy to find. Living room; unfortunately I am not a fan of the leather couches, as you slide off them. Bathroom; a pool of water would form and sit in middle of bathroom after a shower. Plates & cutlery were a bit limited. Must wear shoes on metal deck as sun heats it up during day.

For the amount paid I would have expected a few extra facilities such as washing machine and dish washer. The terrace needs an additional canopy/shade so you can sit out in comfort in the afternoons/early evenings.

• Damien (4/5): disappointing - the view was amazing well I do blame booking.com as nowhere on its page does it say joint house with paper thin walls as we were whispering so was the poor couple next door as we both could here each other breath let alone everything else not private at all much like a backpackers, not ideal for you if you was looking for privacy also only 2 towels for 2 people for 3 days I like to shower with clean towels

I would highly recommend Whale Watcher 2 to anyone travelling through this area. The addition of a washing machine would have made this property 100% perfect for people travelling for a few weeks around Tasmania.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Our stay at Whale watcher was very disappointing. Although the view is amazing the property is expensive and lacking essentials. We had no coffee or milk. We were missing utensils and there was glass on the bathroom floor. When we tried to contact the property manager through multiple channels there was no return phone call or reply. The signage around the accommodation threatening cleaning fees is also very off putting. We contacted the property manager after our stay and they blamed COVID cleaning requirements. We have stayed at six other accommodations of which offered essentials.
