• Brenda (1/5): Awful! Would never stay there again. Was happy to get out of there so left early. - Was clean. Location was good. There was no soap in the bathroom, no tissues, just little touches that hotels should provide. No lamps in the room, no drawers in the room, cupboards that you couldn’t even reach. Everything was dated and looked it. No phone in the room. looked short staffed. We left and entered several times during the day and not one person did we see on the reception desk. The stairs were a nightmare. Need a lift!

• Carolyn (6/5): Adequate stopover in central location. - Location, good parking, helpful pleasant staff, food and drink fine, comfy bed. We got a good night's sleep. Two steep flights of stairs to the room, (difficult for elderly folk), the room itself was shabby, the net curtain rail collapsed, one panel of secondary glazing was missing, paintwork was chipped, no bedside lights. (One was provided on request.). Disappointing

• Annika (5/5): Simple room, earplugs needed due to loud music until 1 am. - Central location with free parking was a great plus. It was very busy and it took a while to be seen to on arrival. Room décor and paint quite dark green and a bed with a very simple mattress. It was a loud evening with DJ until 1 am, which I was told about on arrival. Luckily I was very tired and managed to get to sleep with some earplugs.

• Deena (1/5): - Location, staff Water pressure in the shower was really bad, the shower went hot and cold did not settle. The noise from the pub till 0030 was awful, you should advertise you will have music and will go so late. Bed uncomfortable and pillows. Paint work and carpets need updating.

• kastner (1/5): - Nichts Wir waren über dem Gastraum untergebracht, wo Samstag eine Party mit sehr! lauter Musik bis 1.00 Uhr stattfand. An Schaf war bis dahin nicht zu denken. Das Personal war nicht sehr freundlich. Den Toaster früh mussten wir selbst einstecken, doch die Steckdose war defekt. Das Frühstück war sehr!! übersichtlich. Nach einer Woche bekamen wir einen Brief von der Autovermietung, dass wir eine Parkgebühr über 60£ plus eine Bearbeitungsgebühr von 50£ bezahlen sollen. In der Beschreibung des Hotels steht, dass das Parken von Hotelgästen kostenlos ist. Dies bestätigte uns auch die Rezeptionistin, dass das Auto für eine Nacht kostenlos auf dem angrenzenden privaten Parkplatz stehen kann. Und dann die Mahnung!! Für junge Leute ok, die gern feiern. Aber sonst kann ich das Hotel nicht empfehlen.

• Jane (2/5): Dreadful - Location Very Shabby! Paintwork is terrible! Room was very tired & in need of urgent refresh! No bedside lights only 1 incredibly bright white ceiling light. No aircon or ability to open windows wide enough- absolutely boiling hot!

• Catherine (2/5): Awful, moldy, noisy and boiling hot. - That I had a bed. The room was boiling hot with no fan provided. The corridor stank of smoke and was equally as hot. The walls were broken, paint was unfinished, the wallpaper in the room was peeling off, there was mould in the bathroom, the light above one of the beds was permanently on unless switched off at the mains meaning I could not see when my daughter was asleep and the TV was constantly saying no signal. All in all a very bad hotel. Breakfast was basic and nothing to write home about.

Mouldy stale pizza under one of the beds, bathroom with damp marks on ceiling, shower falling apart, shower water fluctuating between cold and scalding hot while trying to shower, paint on the walls scratched off and yellowed markings next to the bed on the wall, would not recommend this stay.

• Cork (5/5): Was a dvised of the Disco going on till about 1.00am Thank You and it finished at 12.30 no problems - Veery nice staff and comfortable bed, Electric lead from mains to TV joined with Insulating Tape not a very safe connection, a new cable should have been fitted from the plug and into the TV not two cables joined with tap, Breakfast everything was very dry the only bits that was good to the taste was the Sausage and the beans, the Egg was over coked and hard the Black pudding was like rubber and the Beacon was so hard felt like it had been under a lamp for hours in all not a good breakfast

Very noisy from the bar, on Saturday went on until 12:30 am. Breakfast on the Saturday was very poor, did open on time, chef didn't arrive until 8:10, no milk for cereal until 8:25 and no bread for toast before I had to leave at 8:30. Manager not very helpful, didn't accept I had prepaid for Breakfast. Much better on the Sunday

• Kevin (7/5): - We have stayed here on a few occasions, we are regulars at Newmarket for a host of reasons as well as the horse racing. The White Hart is a lively pub on racedays showing a variety of sports on big TV's, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is of good quality and fair value. Parking is on site and excellent, rooms have always been big enough and well equipped and always exceptionally clean. Nothing negative.

• Emma (4/5): Not bad also not good - Position good with a large carpark comfortable bed Loud music till 12.30am booked as business trip and were put in a room directly above the bar and speakers. We we're not made aware there would be Loud music on till late and if we had known this we would of asked to be moved to the top floor or possibly wouldn't of booked at all. The hotel side of this place needs a bit of attention , the walls next to the beds where you lay we're grafted they need a clean. That particular room was also very warm even with the window open. It was convenient to get to the racecourse in the morning but not so good working with very little sleep , I believe there needs to be a bit more consideration to your hotel guests staying here for work.

• otoole (1/5): - the location was good. This isn't an appropriate place to stay with children at the weekend. There was constant door slamming until 3am on Sunday morning. There was a strong smell of weed in the corridor, unacceptable. there didn't seem to be any staff on site to deal with the situation.

Not the standard I expected from Marston Hotels having stayed in quite a few. Very badly needs a complete refurb. Possibly last redecorated around 30yrs ago! Strange when you have a road of multi million £ properties just mins walk away. Saturday night had loud music that you could hear upstairs until 1am Sunday morning. Breakfast was very poor with little choice and no offer of cooked. Would definitely not stay here again.
