• Jens aus Gelnhausen (10/5): A place that leaves a lasting impression - for all the right reasons. - Diese Unterkunft war für uns das absolute Highlight unserer vierwöchigen Neuseelandreise. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen – besonders angenehm war, dass der Gastgeber perfekt Deutsch spricht. Am Abend haben wir gemeinsam im Garten gesessen und uns lange unterhalten, wodurch eine sehr persönliche und entspannte Atmosphäre entstanden ist. Die Lage ist wunderschön und bietet einen fantastischen Blick in die Natur. Für uns ein echter Geheimtipp abseits der typischen Touristenorte. Wenn Neuseeland nicht so weit von Deutschland entfernt wäre, würden wir sofort wiederkommen bzw. regelmäßig zum baden und relaxen kommen. Danke für die schönen Tage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely nothing that detracted from our overall experience – we would happily stay again.

• Anjali (9/5): Coastal Calm and Feline Friends at Ohiwa Seascape - Our stay at Ohiwa Seascape Studios was absolutely idyllic. The highlight was the stunning, relatively private beach just a short distance away, where you can drift off to the soothing sound of the ocean waves. The garden is equally wonderful with tomatoes and herbs—if you don't feel like strolling to the shore, there's a lovely small bench where you can sit with a tea or coffee and watch the ocean. A special thank you to our host, Stephan, a cat lover who introduced us to his charming feline companions, including a very friendly tortoiseshell cat. It truly felt like a hidden gem tucked away in the native bush. Highly recommended!

We had a flat tire upon arrival and he helped my husband to replace the spare and then recommend the tire shop for a replacement. Our unit was well-equipped and had a beautiful view of the water. An easy walk down to the beach. Only 10 minutes away from Ōpōtiki, where we had take-away from the Elite Turkish Cafe. Wonderful stay. The driveway is steeping and parking a challenge, especially for those not use to NZ cars and driving.

• Stephen (8/5): Thank you enjoyed the stay. Some of the Booking.com questions are poorly crafted #4. - Location isolated and quiet. Beach on other side of the road, not that I am a beach person, black sand much driftwood ban on swimming and disturbing the Birds. View through the tress was great. Hopefully I can attach some photos of an all to common water problem. We live in a location where we are the water supply authority, in other words we control our water supply in conjunction with nature its rain water. Ohiwa also has rain water as its only source and as you can see they have a polite water saving note in the bathroom associated with SPA use. This is fine, I get it and can help by the considered use of water, especially in the SPA. However the owners of the property have failed dismally by pandering to the limp wristed architects of the dwelling and extremely poor choice of lever taps that have no outward clue as to which way is hot and which way is cold. So lots of water is wasted while you try each extent of lever travel and waste water while you feel for hot or cold. Clues with well selected water dispensing bathroom and kitchen taps include red and blue dots, engraved H and C letters and even signs adjacent to the lever style taps. Hint for future visitors ask the host Stephan which way the tap levers point for Hot and Cold. By the way I imagine he is not so much staff as the owner and was very good.

So quiet and the grounds are kept immaculate. The Studio room has everything you need for a short stay and the underfloor heating in the bathroom is divine!

• chrisdrosos (9/5): Highly recommend - I wish we had stayed longer! - Everything in the room was very well thought out with several tasteful touches in the room ('kitchen' cupboard, fresh traditional flowers, wooden decorative pieces) that we greatly appreciate and hadn't come across in similar accommodation in New Zealand. Spacious room/bathroom and large comfortable bed with extra pillows. Listening and glancing at the ocean was a unique experience. I wish we had stayed longer. There was no closet or spacious hanger in the room. The bathroom (Honey suite) was outside (just a step from the main room but it was a bit scary/uncomfortable at night). Quite a few aunts around the windows that didn't bother us but could be a challenge if one stays for days.
• Leratooo (10/5): Exceptional stay!! - Amazing stay! I was in the Honey Studio and it was brilliant. I was not blessed with the weather (terrible rain all day!) but was actually very happy to be nice and cosy in the room. It's very spacious and comfy and has everything you need. The beach at the bottom of the road is amazing and Opotoki town centre is a short drive away. Would return in a heartbeat! Not something I didn't like, just a note: the parking is up a short but steep driveway and is a little narrow. Totally fine in a normal car but if you have a very big vehicle, I'd advise getting in touch with the property first!

• adishatz (9/5): Un petit nid douillet pour un séjour romantique à deux en bord de mer. - Ce studio est idéalement situé en bord de mer, au milieu d'un grand et beau jardin fleuri et arboré , avec vue sur le rivage entre les arbres, uniquement une petite route à traverser. La baignoire spa pour 2 personnes avec vue sur l'océan en surplomb est un plus. Très calme et reposant. Jolies promenades à pied à faire sur place dans le parc régional voisin. Commerces à Opotiki à 12 km. Appartement cosy et agréable. Kitchenette équipée de l'essentiel pour être autonome. Très bonne literie. Photos confirmes. Très agréable salon de jardin mis à la disposition des hôtes au bout du jardin face à l'océan. La remontée de l'allée jusqu'au parking est étroite et pentue et nécessite en haut de se garer en marche arrière. Le 1er jour ça surprend et la sortie du parking nécessite aussi des précautions de conduite.. Quantité de vaisselle minimaliste, il faut laver après chaque repas. La table ronde pour prendre ses repas est vraiment petite, une fois posés 2 grandes assiettes, les couverts et 2 verres elles est pleine. Il y avait la place pour une table d'une dimension un peu supérieure. Pas de barbecue sur place en extérieur, dommage Toutefois, cet appartement reste très qualitatif : avec ces petits plus il serait parfait.

We would rate Seascape Lodge as one of the best ever. This time we only stayed one night but we will become a regular from now on. Stephan is a great host and nothing is too much trouble.to him. Once the silly season is over we will be back. 5 Stars from us! Everything was perfecto!

Very serene location The fact that we paid for a Spa Bath accommodation at the location to find out, after we paid full price for a Spa bath unit, that we were not allowed to use it due to water restrictions. The proprietor did not tell us this when we went to pay the Spa Bath price. He did not advise us, when paying for the room, that we were not able to use the Spa bath. This is an integrity concern. The owner should have offered us the non Spa Bath unit price but decided not to disclose this to us when paying for the room.
