Guest Reviews

- Steve (9/5): -
- PJ (1/5): 1 star service from a so called 5 star hotel - Location Room was unclean and kettle had humane urine in it, staff didn’t even offer to move me to different room
- Helen (7/5): Comfortable but nothing special - Charming building. Rooms were basic
- Chelsea (6/5): Underwhelming - Gorgeous to look at, lovely surroundings, majority of staff were lovely. Food was terrible, complaint was handled very poorly, pillows in the bedroom were lumpy, and even on 9th floor it was very loud throughout the night.
Considering the price of the rooms and the reviews I expected much better
- Fabien (5/5): - Le petit déjeuner... Le personnel au Bar, (pas cool si l on décide de boire une bière au bar , bref on kes gênait)
Prenne pas le cash...
Trop de monde....
- Charlotte (9/5): -
- Michael (3/5): Fun venue with good facilities but sadly let down by the dining at The Olive Tree - Good facilities The buffet dinner was overpriced and seriously lacking. Most of the items were at a tepid temperature and lacking flavour. It almost seemed like they’d made an effort to make the dishes as bland as possible?
- Aled (10/5): - Absolutely everything x
- Damien Martin (10/5): -
- alan (10/5): -
- Catherine (5/5): Good - Always have a good night the resort Spa are unclean
- Marie (10/5): -

- Roselyn (10/5): -
- segun (9/5): - Love the location on the hill and the history some of the facilities could be better
- Mandvwatts (6/5): Dated - The Manor House is dated. We stayed in a four poster and honestly, I don’t think it had been used for a while. We had no robes and no hairdryer and the plumbing was hit and miss. I had a shower amd it leaked into the restaurant below!
- Jack (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): -
- Lisa (1/5): Very dated not the same as advertised - Locality The room
- Moises (10/5): -
- Elystan (8/5): - Great location. Linked to Celtic Manor resort and so easy access to all facilities. Has its own bar and restaurant. Great value for money. Slightly dated interior.
- Alison (8/5): - Rooms in The Manor are a little tired and could do with a makeover. Despite managing to get a room with a walk-in shower for someone with mobility issues, the shower had a step up and no handle to help steady and prevent slipping
- Harris (10/5): - Everything
- Harries (8/5): -
- lynnebI4296BW (10/5): Birthday treat to relive some childhood memories-what a lovely place to have a birthday, very memorable - staff very good room good food good fairways not good at at all
- Mrs Amina folake (10/5): No issue - Excellent Very clean and good location
- caradr (6/5): Worst breakfast in Olive tree - Stayed in the celtic manor loads of times, but this was the first time our breakfast was in the Olive tree and omg it was Bedlam! Worst breakfast experience ever! It was so busy the staff couldn't keep up replenishing the food and glasses for the juices or coffee. When you start serving yourself food, the eggs would run out, then when the eggs come out of the kitchen the bacon had run out, and then by the time the bacon comes out, and you walk over to get a juice to find there are no glasses for juice. By the time I got back to my table with my food it was freezing.
- Kye (10/5): -
- Jacob (9/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): - Beautiful location
- Nigel (7/5): - The Celtic Manor was closed, so we were upgraded to the main Celtic Manor Hotel Resort. Most of the restaurants were closed, so we asked for plates and cutlery and had an excellent Chinese takeaway delivered, and had an excellent meal in our room.
- Jenny (9/5): A lovely stay. Looking forward to staying again. - Got upgraded to the main hotel. Given a lovely big room on the ninth floor with views across to the estuary. Fantastic choice at breakfast. Very convenient for the ICC. Shower wasn’t powerful.
- Claire (7/5): Despite some minor issues, I would stay again and recommend as it is a lovely hotel with great facilities and well place - I was upgraded to the manor resort which was very well appointed in terms of facilities and from my 7th floor room had lovely views. Although upgraded to a lovely double aspect room, my new room had faulty lights so I was moved to a less visually appealing space.
Service in the bar was a bit hit and miss with drinks charged and then not delivered and table service being hard to obtain.
- Jerome (7/5): -
- Maria (10/5): -
- Helen (10/5): We loved every minute - It was lush 😍 😋
- peever4765 (6/5): not too bad - Overall not too bad, food at the PAD restaurant was very good would recommend.
We had a treatment but then was told couldn't go in pool because you need to book it which I think is ludicrous when we got to our room asked for ice bucket and 2 glasses because there wasn't any there it took 2 hours for them to arrive, also having spend £500 for stay for one night and treatments you have to pay £25 to park again I think this is discussing. Breakfast was ok got there at 10.00 am food was only luke warm
Its a lovely resort and I have stayed there several times but there are always some kond of issues nothing really major but things they could definitely improve
- L6197QBgarys (10/5): Highly recommended - Terrific stay, 2 nights attending the Complex Care Forum, hotel facilities were great here and at the resort, only niggles were £48 for covered parking (raining on arrival), pool & spa visits limited to 45 minutes so not as relaxed as a spa might be trying to keep an eye on the clock and drinks were a bit steep but that's our choice! Restaurants very good indeed - Overall I'd definitely recommend because of the sheer quality!
- Sue (10/5): Relaxation chill out stay - Relaxation and awesome surroundings Nothing
- Alison (8/5): The staff made it really special nothing too much trouble for anyone from reception to bar to serving to chef and kitche - Beautiful building and very well presented Nothing
- D9775KPlindah (10/5): Lovely stay - The Manor House was lovely. Room was nice and clean. We watched ELO Again and they were brilliant. Breakfast was superb.
- Cox (9/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): - Dinner at the PAD was delicious. Breakfast in the hotel had a decent variety.
Pool & Spa area was very nice. Carpet in the rooms is quite dated & gives off a musty smell from years of wear & tear.
Bathroom seems to be more updated in recent years.
- Rosie (7/5): Overrated - The room was comfortable and mostly quiet (unfortunately it's located near motorway so hum of traffic). The man managing the entrance to Pad restaurant was very good. They catered well for my allergies in the end but would have been much more relaxing if we could have arranged that in advance for peace of mind. We really appreciated the tea and coffee facilities in the room. Unfortunately they didn't reply to any of my advance emails about whether they could cater to me as I have 2 allergies. Also they told us we could order room service but actually it wasn't working as they told us later but they just didn't answer phones in room service or reception instead of just saying that, so we spent ages going round trying to find somewhere safe to eat. Be aware many of the resort restaurants are not nearby by walking. My expectations were too high I guess - I was expecting a spa but more of a swimming pool vibe including full of kids, hopefully that's normally the case - it was half term. I love kids but was not really relaxing with all the screaming!
- Lexie (8/5): -
- Megan (8/5): -
- Shivani (8/5): Adequate - great leisure facilities - Good room and great leisure facilities Remote - in the middle of a motorway. Direction to room unclear.
- 532alexandrn (10/5): Amazing experience! - Great family resort. Very attentive and helpful team. Loved it!
- janineh898 (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - Lovely hotel! Staff were lovely and friendly! Spa facilities and pool was lovely and very clean!
Room was clean and maintained
- Carolyn (10/5): Excellent stay at Celtic Manor - The staff were friendly and very helpful - it was lovely Nothing
- Hambling (8/5): Friendly staff beautifully location - Beds were very comfortable Just some places like the lamps
Had a lot of dust
- Diane (7/5): - Lovely place to stay. The rack of ribs was told be recommend, delicious. Breakfast was really good and the butter was the best. A lot of confusion of when we could do the swimming and spar facilities. Was told we had to book and could only get 7.30 in the evening or next day at 9am. My friends went at 9am and was told we were able to come basically anytime.
- PETER (8/5): Pleasant stay which broke up a journey on a congested motorway - Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent spa facilities. Comfortable ,clean room. Excellent breakfast. Expensive car parking costs on top of room cost. Lack of information in any form on layout of the resort / complex /directions to car park.No in room information on facilities , room amenities or menus/ times etc. Neither digital or paper.
Requested extra milk for room but was not forthcoming. Towel rail was not working. One bedside lamp could only be put on or off by a wall switch.
- gospelnige (6/5): good but need compass - Comfortable room but shower not 100% and had to call for robes and bulb. Hard to find way around which caused me all kinds of problems. Car park so expensive
- C5684SZpaulw (4/5): Long walk to freezedom - Navigating my way from the car park to the Manor House required a sat nav - the good news being I got my 10,000 steps in.
The room I was assigned while large, was freezing and the heating didn't work. I had it set to 30 degrees all night and the hotel are clearly aware of the problem because there was an electric heater too. Even with both on it was horribly cold all night.
Thankfully I had a foil blanket from my expedition from the car park to my room which stopped me from getting hyperthermia.
- Hackett (8/5): - Lovely room and amenities Parking was quite far away
- Day (3/5): -
- Charmaine (10/5): Fantastic staff, food amazing - We were upgraded to the main resort but still excellent Had everything you needed, all close and things further were taxied to free of charge.
- barbart2018 (10/5): Nothing was too much trouble - My husband and I stayed in The Manor House for 1 night, as we were going to the ICC to see a show. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was well organised and the food was tasty. Jayne on reception was particularly helpful when we had a problem with the car park ticket machine. This was resolved very quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back soon.
- Luke (10/5): Excellent stay — wonderful service from start to finish - I stayed at Celtic Manor Resort last night and had an excellent experience.
I arrived very late in the evening and was checked in by Davina, the Night Manager, who was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and professional — exactly what you hope for after a long journey. I was also very kindly upgraded free of charge to a fantastic room with stunning views over the golf course, which was a lovely surprise.
Breakfast the following morning was superb — a wonderful selection with something for everyone, and all beautifully presented.
The key thing that stood out across the whole visit, though, was the people working there. The team were attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay, which made all the difference.
A thoroughly enjoyable visit — I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Everything was excellent
- Julian (9/5): An excellent time spent celebrating my wife's birthday and will definitely return. - The breakfast was lovely. It catered for various dietary requirements and if an item was not on the menu they were happy to provide an alternative.
The location was just right.
The spa facilities were great just feel the restricted 45 minutes could be relaxed on less busy periods. Although I didn't see it enforced.
The Olive Tree and Garden room had a variety of dishes.
A special mention to Jarmila on reception - who was very friendly and from the start made us feel welcomed. She is clearly someone who takes pride in her work.
- O1224GGgailg (2/5): Bad faith company- Avoid - This is my second review to alert people that if you raise a complaint on here they will publicly apologise and direct you to an email to discuss the matter to ‘make it right’. Then they will ‘forward’ email and then you won’t hear back. They therefore do not care about their customers and handled this in bad faith. Be warned if anything is wrong during your stay you they will not respond. I’ve been advised to request a charge back on my card for no heating and an ignored complaint and I urge anyone in a similar situation to do the same. Their customer care is outrageous.

- Ceri (8/5): - It’s a beautiful place massive lovely and clean we stayed at the Celtic manor for 1 night then booked another night in Manor House If you do have mobility issues please stay in the Celtic house as the Manor House is a bit of walking form lifts so we did get our steps in
- skatharine2000 (8/5): Lovely hotel as long as you don’t want unrestricted pool access - Enjoyed our stay but very disappointed that pool time is so restricted . The email does not make it clear that pool times are mandatory and only for 45 min - we went on a sat and no slots available until the evening . We observed at least 10 groups that were also unaware and disappointed. For a luxury resort hotel this is not good . We were told Covid restrictions - these are long gone and the lack of free entry times to the pool means we will go elsewhere on our next weekend break . Everything else with the stay was good - dinner and breakfast were lovely only issue that let it down was restricted access to pool
- Brian (7/5): -
- Clive (2/5): I would not stay at the Manor House . - Looks fabulous from the outside . No lift working
Reception not interested in helping at all . No help with the four flights of stairs with our bags .
- Paul (5/5): Lacklustre - Unfortunately other than the sleep and breakfast there was nothing to write home about, i was hoping as the first thing you see as you enter Wales it would have been better. Disappointing, met with reception staff that couldn't care less, slow bar service, inaccessible spa access unless you beg (they tell you it's full but it isn't), topped off with boring, unimaginstive food in buffet, clearly in need of a refurb and massive investment- 4/5 star my arse !
- Ellie (9/5): -
- nicola (9/5): excellent hotel, room was upgraded and it couldn't be faulted in anyway - room was upgraded due to works on the hotel, the room was amazing nothing to fault at the hotel
- James (10/5): -
- Kim (5/5): Would not return :( - Meal at the Asian restaurant. Receptioniat who was very nice despite having to cope with my room going awol. Room not available. Booking went missing despite being confirmed. Ended up with cheaper room. Very small. Should have had four poster. Was told all
Accessible with lifts as I have mobility issues. But has to go up and down two flights. Still waiting to hear back re refund for cheaper room.
- Julie (10/5): A great overnight stay. Would definitely recommend. - The room and lovely breakfast. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Whale (7/5): -
- Elohor (9/5): - Suitable for a family holiday.

- Steve (9/5): -
- Carol (7/5): -
- Ruth (10/5): - Excellent space to attend meets
- Aled (10/5): Relaxing - Absolutely everything
- Williams (7/5): - Location, staff overall presentation Starting to look a little tired in places, threadbare carpet in places, faded paint
- mark (3/5): Need a VAT invoice - always seems difficult with Booking.com - Good Hotel, being clean, choice of food and good location. They would not print me an invoice for my say, saying that booking.com need to provide that but the Booking.com instructions were to get invoice from venue. Good stay but frustrated on admin side - will not use again because I can't claim expenses without VAT invoice.
- Christine (10/5): Very satisfied - Excellent value. Very good variety food.
We asked for rooms close together and we had a communicating door which was very handy.
I loved the Elemis toiletries I would have liked a flannel and some body cream
- Michael (7/5): Lovely hotel, shame about the food choice and car park - Clean, comfortable and good service. Few healthy choices for eating. The car park set up is awful if you are there multiple days and travelling in and out of the hotel - and expensive too.
- natalie (10/5): - Lovely rooms and location, exceptional service Nothing, cant wait to go again!
- katherinetQ6679YC (4/5): Night away - We booked our stay as we were attending an event in the ICC. On booking in we were told we were on the fourth floor and given directions to the lift. When we got to the lift it was out of order , signs had been put out so not a new problem. We asked for a different room on a lower floor which was sorted .
We wanted a drink before we went out so went to both bars , the cellar bar was freezing so went to the bar on the main room where a lovely fire was roaring only to be told this bar wasn’t running. A couple then came in to say there was no service in the cellar bar either . We ended up going to the main hotel , three escalators later .
Just seems the Manor House is a poor relation to the main hotel and just needs some love
- Gareth (10/5): - Lovely and peaceful Rooms a little tired
- Susie (9/5): -
- Finn (10/5): -
- Ritchie (4/5): Glad it was only one night. - It was close to the ICC No working lift. Five floors to walk up from reception. Tired rooms - noisy ac.
- Michael (4/5): Overhyped and pretentious for no reason - Fitness gym and room The concierge was very rude and unprofessional
- Kasia (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful and festive - The hotel was tastefully decorated for Christmas my grand daughter loved it ❤️ The cost of the parking!!
- Ashleigh (10/5): -
- Jason (10/5): -
- Oliver (5/5): Really unfortunate experience given it was NYE first night without our children for our ten year anniversary killed by l - We love Celtic Manor as a rule it has a bit of everything for everyone! There was no hot water in the wash basin, the plug hole was blocked so really slow to drain (reported to reception) the room had an interlocking door for it to be used for larger bookings but the door was not insulated so could hear everything from next door which was not pleasant! When we booked the Manor I don’t expect to be actually above the conference centre, the lifts were broken n having to use several escalators and walk for ages kind of killed the vibe. When I booked it didn’t say The Mulberry bar was exclusively booked for Steak On Six diners and so we had to use Merlin’s Bar which was table service only except there was no coordination on this and the bar staff were over stretched and under skilled, at least 4 senior suited staff walking around telling everyone it was only table service but not actually team players! If they did the table orders then the bar staff could be delivering the orders, there were no numbers on the tables which caused confusion amongst staff, no one had a section to manage so was literally chaos at times as resulted in a 45 minute wait for our drinks. New Years Eve in a bar and we had 2 drinks in 2 hours! Improving communication and everyone knowing their roles for the evening would have improved everyone’s experience the staff included!
